Okay... so when was the last time we updated? Sorry about that... But here's the new chapter! Hope you enjoy it!
Quinzio looked up from the front reception desk of the Westeroak Hotel, as the main entrance door opened. In walked 4 teenagers – 3 had evidently been crying and one who looked shocked. Even though they all looked rather hopeless, Quinzio couldn't think why they were in such a place as Westeroak Hotel. They looked like they had witnessed a murder – surely the police would be better help than the staff at the hotel? Quinzio could tell that they weren't planning on staying overnight as; 1. They had not brought any luggage with them; and 2. There was no way that they could even afford one night in Westeroak. "Excuse me," Quinzio called, walking up to the four. "Can I help you?" Nobody answered, the three that were crying looked incapable of speech; and the one that looked shocked bit his lip and wiggled his fingers through one of the other's hand. "Yeah… uh…" The one that wasn't crying, spoke up. "We're looking for room 3-0-5." "Torchwood," Another mumbled. Quinzio froze. Up in room 3-0-5, there was a Torchwood. But Westeroak Hotel had been paid heavily to not say anything or lead anyone up to their room; not even housekeeping was allowed to knock. "No – I am sorry, we do not know any Torchwood," Quinzio spoke slowly. "It's alright Roberto," Came a call from behind them. They all looked over to see a tall man in a trench coat running towards them. "There with me." "Sir, my name is not Roberto," Quinzio grumbled quietly – but it went unheard as the tall man in the trench coat led the four teenagers away. * As soon as Luke walked in through the door, Sky rushed up and jumped in his arms. The two held onto each other tightly for a moment or two, both starting to cry again - seeing each other making them realise that this was all true and that they were going to have to live on without their mother. Sky pulled out of the hug, still holding onto Luke's arms as she looked up at him through glassy eyes. "What's going to happen now?" She asked. Luke opened and closed his mouth, unsure of what to say. But Sky continued with an avalanche of questions. "Why did it happen to her? She was a good person! Who could have done something like this?! The police tried to take me somewhere before Jack turned up… what did they want? Were they taking me away from you? Are they going to separate us? I don't want to go into a children's home!" "Sky, you won't go to a children's home!" Luke promised, before realising that he himself didn't know what was going to happen. But he knew, automatically, that he would fight to no end to make sure that they weren't separated – even if that meant dropping out of Uni. "Promise?" Sky whimpered. "Promise," Luke nodded, trying to put Sky's mind to rest. He overlooked his shoulder at the Torchwood team, trying to put a brave face on for his sister. "So what now?" He asked Jack; but both Jack and Luke knew that he was actually asking whether Torchwood were going to separate them. "I think you should go home," Jack nodded sympathetically at the group of teens before him. "Not without Sky!" Luke exclaimed, not understanding Jack's hidden message. "No, no – I mean, all of you; including Sky," Jack explained hurriedly. "Go home and order a take away or something." "Are you sure?" Luke asked worriedly. "Go home Luke," Jack ordered reassuringly. Sky and Luke thanked everyone a couple of times before heading to the door. "Oh, and Luke?" Jack called after them, before they could step out of the door. "We'll be in contact – nothing bad… just wanna check up on you." Luke nodded, agreeing to this, before closing the door. The group walked silently down the corridor, Luke with his arm around Sky – scared to let her go. It was as they were waiting for the lift to arrive that Sky noticed the strange person added to their usual group. "Who's this?" She asked, motioning to Sanjay. *
The room was dark; the lights were turned out, the curtains were drawn. Every now and again, there would be a shadow of light flash into the room from passing car headlights, the light sneaking through the gaps in the curtains. Nothing could be made out in the room, but pushed up to one of the room's four walls was a large double bed, where two teenagers lay. On the right side a figure was surrounded by a cover, his head on top of two pillows with his arms wrapped round a third. He slept with his mouth open slightly, breathing heavily – letting out a soft snore here and there. He slept soundly, nothing disturbing him – not even the sound of cats rummaging through metal dustbins – unlike the figure next to him. The figure next to him was not woken by the sound of cats rummaging through metal dustbins. No, he had been awake ever since they had got into bed. Luke looked to his right, to read the time on his digital alarm clock. 3:27Am. Luke sighed heavily, before turning his head to look at Sanjay. "I hate you," He mumbled quietly to his sleeping boyfriend. They had decided to turn in early last night at 10pm, due to the distressing events of the day. Sanjay had fallen asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, literally; he hadn't even managed to stay awake to wish Luke goodnight, like he normally did. But Luke had not slept a wink; and god how he'd tried. They were unaware of what caused Sarah-Jane's death, but Luke couldn't help but imagine her dead body. The creak of the bedroom door made Luke jump. Luke cursed quietly. Sanjay stirred slightly but did not wake up. "Sorry," Sky whispered, poking her head round a crack in the door. "I didn't mean to wake you." "No no, don't worry I was awake anyway," Luke replied sitting up. "Are you okay?" "Well not really, I couldn't sleep either." Luke swung his legs over the bed and quietly shuffled over to the door. "Come on, let's go downstairs," Luke suggested, walking out of the room before quietly closing the door behind him. When the pair reached the bottom of the stairs, they noticed Rani awake; she had her legs folded up to her chest, resting her head on her knees. She looked up at them as they came down the stairs. "Are you okay?" she whispered. Luke looked over at Clyde, who was fast asleep on the sofa. Luke opened his mouth as if he was about to say something and then closed it again. "Can't sleep," Sky murmured walking past her brother into the kitchen. Luke smiled at Rani awkwardly as if trying to reassure her. "Who wants a cup of tea?" Sky shouted from the kitchen, waking Clyde in the process. She popped her head round the door with a cup in her hand. "Huh..? Where's the crumpets?" Asked Clyde in a confused manner. For a minute everyone remained silent, until Rani started giggling at Clyde's expense, with everyone else joining in shortly after. It felt like the first time they've laughed in a decade. "Shhh… Guys we have to keep quiet, Sanjay is still asleep," He whispered. * They were all sat around the kitchen table, nursing cups of tea. "So, what's going to happen now?" Sky asked into the silence. "With mum gone, who's going to save the world now?" The awkward silence lingered for a moment more. "I don't know…." Luke mumbled, not looking up from his cup of tea.
