Chapter Thirty Four: Back to Work
Tamsin slowly stirred in bed, reaching over to the other side where she was expecting to feel a warm and cuddly Succubus beside her, however, to Tamsin's surprise, the bed was empty. The Valkyrie groaned and slowly opened her eyes looking around the room. In her groggy state she saw Bo standing over by the full length mirror turning from side to side. Then Tamsin saw an enormous pregnant belly on her wife and sprung out of bed, falling off the side and hitting the floor with a loud thud.
Bo chuckled as she turned and looked at her wife on the floor, "well good morning sunshine…"
"Uhm hello did I fucking miss something?! Why are you like 9 months pregnant?! Does that shit happen over night?!" Tamsin stammered as she jumped to her feet.
"Relax spaz…" Bo said as she laughed and pulled the pillow out from under her shirt, "I just wanted to see how it would look. Now, pick that cute little jaw up off the floor…" Bo said as she slowly walked over and kissed Tamsin's lips.
"Shit Bo, a little warning would have been nice. I wake up from the best sleep I've had in days to see you looking like you're about to pop, sends a Valkyrie into spaz mode!" Tamsin said as she rolled her neck and stretched.
"Sorry babe… I just wanted to see what I should be expecting" Bo said with a little laugh as she handed Tamsin a hoodie and some sweat pants to put on.
"Well… You should be expecting to look like a drop dead gorgeous pregnant Succubus who has no reason to even worry about her weight or how she's going to look when our little shit kicker comes flying out" Tamsin said with a smirk as she threw her hoodie on.
"Oh Tamsin, how romantic your words are when you first wake up" Bo said sarcastically as she grinned and rolled her eyes.
"Yeah yeah well I woke up alone in bed, I have a right to be grumpy for the next half hour" Tamsin pouted as she grabbed Bo by the hips and pulled her in for a light kiss.
"You did fall ever so gracefully out of bed, so I'll give you grumpy time" Bo said as she smiled and leaned up on her tip toes to secure one more kiss before the two headed out of the room and to the kitchen.
As they turned the corner they stopped and chuckled at what they witnessed. Kenzi was sitting on the island bar in the middle of the kitchen in tight blue under ware with a tshirt on and Alex standing firmly between her legs, as the two women were making out slowly.
"I mean really, on the kitchen table, did I teach you no manners?" Tamsin said as she crossed her arms and raised her eyebrows.
Alex and Kenzi both laughed as they turned and looked at the two women in the doorway.
"Obviously not" Alex said with a smirk.
"Plus I don't think you two can be talking about manners after the sex-u-bus circus we heard coming from your room last night" Kenzi said as she stuck her tongue out at the two before hopping off the kitchen island with her cup of coffee.
"I can't even argue with that one" Bo said as she leaned back and kissed Tamsin's cheek before walking over and grabbing a cup of fresh coffee from Alex and retreating to the couch where Kenzi was now firmly planted.
"I'm cooking food so we can eat while we discuss this shit show we have gotten ourselves into" Alex said as she shrugged and looked at the skillet with burnt bacon in it. "Don't judge… I got distracted…" Alex said as she rolled her eyes and Tamsin laughed.
"Yeah I bet you did" Tamsin said as she smacked Alex's arm and grabbed her mug.
"Alright you two, what the hell happened in the Dawning?" Tamsin asked as she flopped down in the arm chair to the left of the couch.
"Honestly, it was like flipping through a shit ton of scenes in a crazy ass movie… I mean we popped up in Russia in the winter…" Bo said as she looked over to Kenzi.
"Yeah it was freezing, which gave me a chance to practice heating up in the cold" Kenzi said as she grabbed the plate of food that Alex handed her.
"Yeah practice.. She burnt the shit out of my hand" Bo said with a chuckle as she and Tamsin leaned forward and grabbed the plates from Alex, before the blonde ember went over and snuggled up beside Kenzi on the couch.
"It's not like I did it on purpose!" Kenzi said as she rolled her eyes, "ANYWAY… We dealt with some ass hats from the past and then headed to my family's casa to see what was up where shit was… Interesting.."
"Define interesting…" Tamsin said as she raised an eyebrow.
"Well…" Kenzi said as she turned red.
"What? What happened at the Russian hottie's home away from home?" Alex said as she sipped her coffee.
"Come on Kenz… Enlighten them on what we walked in to" Bo said with a giggle.
"Well my parents were throwing Alex and I an engagement party" Kenzi said as she gave an evil grin towards her girlfriend. Alex on the other hand choked on her coffee, causing everyone else to laugh.
"Woah wait a minute" Alex said as she tried to get her composure. "I thought your fam was anti-rainbow?!"
"Oh trust me they aren't! But apparently the Dawning was trying to show me a perfect world to draw me in… And not gonna lie it did a pretty good job! My mom wasn't a total crazy bitch and my dad, my REAL dad was there! Tammers you were there too…" Kenzi said as she and Bo exchanged knowing glances before laughing.
"Oh really?!" Tamsin said as she cocked her head and looked at Bo.
"Mhmm.. In a very sexy french maid outfit" Bo said slyly as she grinned.
"WHAT?!" Tamsin said as she laughed and her eyes nearly popped out of her head.
Alex and Kenzi were in a fit of laughter nearly doubled over.
"Yeah and you were human…" Bo said as she laughed harder.
"Uh huh… And how did you figure that out missy?" Tamsin said as she raised an eyebrow.
"Don't judge me… I was hungry" Bo said as she pouted, causing the Valkyrie to lean over and give her a kiss on the lips.
"Sooooo anyway…" Kenzi said as she and Alex calmed down their laughing. "I was actually in my dad's study talking to him… And I don't know if it was the Dawning playing tricks on me or what the hell happened, but my dad said that he was an Ember…" Kenzi said as she reached up and held the necklace that her father had given her.
"What…" Alex said as she turned her head and looked jaw dropped at her girlfriend.
"Kenz.. You didn't tell me that…" Bo said as her eyes were now glued to her best friend.
"Holy shit moms… that's huge.." Tamsin said as she scrunched her brow.
"Yeah and I mean I don't know what it really means or how much of it was true… But he gave me this necklace and told me this family story… Apparently he was fae and my mom was human.. Then I popped out human. I don't know…" Kenzi said as she held the necklace out for Alex to see.
"Pretty sure if you were able to bring this back from your Dawning if it wasn't true babe…" Alex said as she huffed out a sigh in disbelief.
"We could ask Trick more about it when we get back, doesn't he have like all that shit from decades of shit?" Tamsin said as she looked from Kenzi to Bo.
"Well.. As nicely as that was put babe, yes… Yes he does. We'll figure it out Kenz…" Bo said as she smiled to her best friend.
"Yeah.. It was just crazy seeing him and telling him what I was and having both him and my mom be so okay with me and Alex.. I don't know. But after awhile and my talk with my dad Bo Bo here and I got shot to some sketchy ass cabin in the middle of a fucking blizzard!" Kenzi said as she looked over to Bo Bo, "wanna take the next part Succu-slut?"
"Gee, thanks Kenz" Bo said a she rolled her eyes. "Well we ended up in this random ass cabin and then since I hadn't eaten since the last time I fed from Tamsin, I was starving and passed out"
"Bo! You passed out?!" Tamsin said in a scolding manner as she looked over to her wife.
"What? It's not like I could get a Valkyrie quick fix in Kenzi's Dawning" Bo said as she shrugged.
"So wait… How did you…" Alex said as the realization popped into her mind and she turned and looked at her girlfriend, "Kenzi darling… May I assume you had something to do with my Succu-skank sister in law's rapid recovery?"
Tamsin whipped her head around and looked at Kenzi jaw dropped, "Woah…"
"HEY! Slow down on the looks douche wads! All we did was some hottie frenching and that's it!" Kenzi said as she threw her hands in the air.
"Not a bad image…" Alex said softly, then received a gracious slap to the ribs by Kenzi.
"I was desperate" Bo said as she looked at Tamsin who was now giggling.
"Hey, I always said if you needed to feed and I wasn't around to find someone to feed off… I just never thought it would be moms" Tamsin said as she wiped a tear from her eye from all of the laughing.
"Dude, bitch was dying" Kenzi said as she shrugged.
"But my awesome bestie saved me and then we decided to see where the hell we were.. SO we headed outside but then the next thing I know, I'm plopped in the middle of nowhere in this snow covered forest wandering around looking for Kenzi…" Bo said as she looked at Kenzi.
"And I popped out at the scene from the Tundra where we fought the tiger dudes and Alex and Tammers went into the water. I was standing there and you guys were there and then some bat shit crazy version of me appeared and stomped through the ice and sent me flying into the freezing water where I legit almost drowned. God it was so cold… I don't see how you two survived it. It was like my body was paralyzed and sinking lower and lower into the water and everything was so numb… I couldn't get any of my fire to activate…" Kenzi said as she felt Alex grab her hand tightly.
"I walked out of the woods in time to see the hole Kenzi fell through and I rushed over. Something told me that she was in there and that something was wrong. So I started yelling and screaming and doing everything I could to try to get her to swim up close enough where I could grab her" Bo said as she looked to Kenzi.
"I was giving up. All I kept thinking about was how I was going to die without telling any of you goodbye… Without seeing any of you again.. I don't know. The whole point though was for me to learn to fight for myself. To stand on my own two feet and not let someone else always save me. I can save myself sometimes, I just have to grow a pair and do it…" Kenzi said with a slight smile.
"Which she did when she totally made the water boil and popped out of the ice like a badass" Bo said with a smirk.
"Cause she is a badass" Tamsin said as she scrunched her nose to her moms.
"Of course she is, she's an Ember" Alex said proudly as she kissed the side of Kenzi's head.
"So what did you two get in to while we were gone?" Bo asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"Actually, Freya dropped off a trunk with some of our parents shit inside… Shit that may help us with our current Odin delimma. We didn't get through all of it, we got side tracked and I mean, it was definitely not something easy for us to really look at when we had other things on our minds…" Tamsin said as she looked over to Bo and pulled her in tightly for a hug.
"Yeah… I mean Tamsin knew a little bit about mom and dad but me, well I never knew them so to read through the diary and look at the pictures of them… Espeically after the shit storm of a reputation they left.. It was too much to do after a few beers and spazzing the fuck out worrying about you two pretty ladies.." Alex said as she snuggled closer to Kenzi.
"Well have no fear my hot dear, because we are here" Kenzi said as she leaned over and kissed Alex's cheek. "Now that we are back together we can figure shit out and kick ass and take names"
"Exactly. We will do whatever you guys need us to to help with the trunk your parents left behind… All while figuring out this Odin craziness, which by the way, what are we doing about that?" Bo asked as she turned her head to Tamsin.
"Well, I was thinking that Bo and I would go meet with Freya and see what information she's gotten so far and see what she wants us to do or what a good move would be to take next…" Tamsin said as she looked to her sister.
"And while you two are doing that, you want Kenzi and I to look through some of mom and dad's shit to see what else we can find and maybe get this hell hole puzzled together?" Alex asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"Mhmm… Then depending on what Freya says, the four of us can try to arrange our meeting with Odin tonight or tomorrow morning so we can get the hell out of here and go back home" Tamsin said as she looked to Bo.
"Sounds like a plan to me Valkyrie. Let's go get dressed so you can finally show me all around Valhalla" Bo said with a wink.
"Oh man, you're gonna have your hands full with the Succubus in Valhalla…" Alex said with a laugh.
"I know, but hey… I think it's about time the wifey gets to see where I'm from and meet the Valkyrie family" Tamsin said as she and Bo stood up.
"You do realize that the moment ya'll go out there all of Valhalla is going to flip their shit seeing you and Bo right?" Alex said as she laughed.
"Oh yeah…" Tamsin said as she rolled her eyes.
"Aw come on babe, not excited for all eyes on us?" Bo said as she laughed.
"All eyes are always on you hot pants" Tamsin said sweetly.
"Good line Valkyrie" Bo said as she kissed Tamsin's nose, causing her to scrunch it, "But I promise to behave when we go exploring the afterworld"
"It's me… Trust me, you don't have to behave that well. Not like I left an angelic reputation" Tamsin said with a smirk.
"That's true…" Alex called out as she laughed and Bo and Tamsin left to go get dressed to meet Freya.
"Hey no fair! Why does Bo Bo get the Valhalla tour?!" Kenzi said as she slapped Alex with a pillow.
"Because you would probably burn this bitch the ground" Alex said as she stuck out her tongue.
"No! But I will light you on fire!" Kenzi said with a laugh as she tackled Alex backwards.
"I'm kidding Sparky! Buttttt, how about I take you out later after we get some work done and I'll show you around some special places" Alex said with a grin.
"Sounds like a date to me" Kenzi said as she leaned forwards and kissed Alex's lips sweetly. "Alright you! Let's get to work so that you can take this new Ember out in the freaking afterworld!"
"Yes ma'am" Alex said as she sat up smiling and looking at Kenzi.
