CHAPTER 67

So the matches started and when Ryoma's turn was finally up the whispering from others truly started up. It ranged from 'Why's he wearing a hood?' to 'he's so cute, do you think he would date me?' Both Mitsu and Syu who could hear some of the comments could only imagine how many school will start a Ryoma fan club after this.

The games ended as quickly as it started. Everyone gaped at the boy's skill, but what truly astonished them was when the captain of the team had to go next and passed the boy. He patted the cat's head and told him he did a good job. Half the girls were near to fainting when the boy's face lit up at the praise. The so called stoic captain of Seigaku had smiled just slightly and those watching noticed. They all wanted to know what power this boy called Ryoma possessed in order to bring out emotion on Tezuka's face.

As Mitsu went to go on the court, at the far end on the other side of the fence was St. Rudolph's manager, Mizuki. As the match began Ryoma sat in-between Syu and Oishi. He watched excitedly as Mitsu beat his opponent 6-0.

As soon as the match ended Ryoma ran to Mitsu laughing. He didn't know why, but today the boy was in a really good mood. "You won, you won. Without even trying." The other team hearing that could only stare in disbelief. Syu chuckled and carried on watching the two interact. Ryoma was hugging the captains waist. Mitsu looked over to the tensai and saw him with his eyes open and smirking almost telling him that Ryoma could have feeling either bordering on love or he already does. He walked over to the side-lines with the boy still holding onto him and asked their coach who they are up against next.

"Akiyama?" Ryoma asked with some confusion. "Never heard of them. Can I have ponta?" Most of the regulars sweat dropped. They knew the cat wouldn't know and didn't get why he had said that. But on the other hand the ponta question was bound to come up eventually and they were grateful it was now and not in the middle of a match. The captain put his hand in his pocket searching for his wallet when he stopped and remembered leaving it on the kitchen table. Mitsu looked to Syu who also shrugged knowing he left his money on his bedside.

"Ryo-Chan, we have no money." Syu spoke wincing when he saw the cats face. The boy's happiness had evaporated and was replace with big round watery eyes. Syu forced himself not to flinch. He felt guilty for some reason. As he was about to say something he was cut off by Horio.

"Hey, Senpai. I was going to get a drink anyway. I can always get Echizen one." Syu nodded and thank the freshmen. Horio then told Ryoma to follow him to go get them. The cat kept close seeing as the place was quiet crowded. He didn't want to go with Horio, but he had no choice he wanted his ponta.

As they went out of sight of the others and got to the vending machines, Horio put the money in and got two cans. As Ryoma was about to grab one when the unibrow moved so it was out of it's reach. "No, Ryoma. You owe me first." He watch as Horio put the two cans on top of the wall to the side of him.

"What do you want?" The cat asked now feeling like something wasn't right.

"I want a kiss, on the lips." Horio smirked when he saw the boy face. He knew that he have to make the boy cave in emotionally and then slowly build him back up. He will be the one Ryoma always thought about and he will be the one that will have the boy unlike anyone else.

From the first day when Ryoma entered their class, Horio had always had this feeling that something was different about him. But it was a good different. Ryoma brought attention whether willing or not. It was something Horio wanted and he knew if him and the cat dated then he would have everyone's eyes even the said boy's himself on him.

"But what if I don't want to?" Ryoma looked at him with a slightly scared look on his face.

"Then you won't get your ponta and then think of all the trouble you are causing everyone with your selfishness." The cat felt his insides twist and turn in all sorts of weird ways. He doesn't want to cause others trouble. Strengthening his resolve he went towards Horio and lifted his right hand. He could still feel the shanking and just as he was about to place it on the others shoulder, the unibrow took his hand in his and pulled Ryoma forwards smashing their lips together. Didn't last long as soon as they made contact it broke again and the boy backed away forcing Horio to let go. He covered his mouth with the back of his hand and his face had gone so red he wondered how he hadn't fainted.

Horio smirked. Grabbing the cans and giving one to Ryoma. "Here Ryoma. Remember though, no snitching. If you start burdening other with this it will cause them to leave you." He waved a his index finger side to side in front of the boy's face so he could get his message across. Going back to the others Ryoma didn't open the can. In fact when they got back the can just stayed closed.

"Ryo-Chan, something wrong?" Syu asked almost knowing from the way the boy was acting wasn't right. The cat blushed and shook his head. The cat didn't say anything, but he was starting to feel even more uncomfortable. His stomach was still in knots at what him and Unibrow did. Mitsu stared at Horio and the freshmen turned to his direction.

"What! All I said was that if he needed anymore ponta I'll buy them for him." The unibrow spoke giving off a air that he was completely innocent.

"Ryoma?" Mitsu got the cat's attention and the boy couldn't look him in the face, instead he just lowered it and stared at the ground. Mitsu knowing the others will be wondering about this later, but the captain could see the boy struggling. "Everyone head to the court where are next match is." He spoke calmly and all doing as they were told and went. Ryoma was about to follow when instead Mitsu put a hand on his shoulder. "Ryoma stay here for a second."

As everyone else left Mitsu bent down and lifted the boy's chin so they could look each other in the eyes. That's all they did for a bit. Just stare. Ryoma was feeling more and more unsettled. His chin still being held. When he had enough he forced his head down hoping the other would get the message. "No, Ryoma. Keep looking." This time instead of looking back in a shy manner he glared. Since the boy found this was getting no where. "Are you going to say what happened...?" You could hear Mitsu sounding slightly hopeful, thinking the cat would give in and just say what was on his mind. The captain watched as the kids face scrunched up like he was weighing out his options.

"No." And just like that everything broke. Tezuka felt annoyed. He knew in order to get the boy to opened up he would have to do something that would make Ryoma upset. He didn't want to, but at the same time he was too angry to think of anything else.

"Fine." Mitsu gritted his teeth. Standing up he started walking not looking back once and in a cold voice he told Ryoma to go join the others at the court. The boy's face twisted into one that showed pain. Kunimitsu, someone Ryoma held very dear to him was angry and he didn't know how to make him feel better. The cat ran and grabbed onto the other ones elbow only for Mitsu to jerk out of the cat's hold. The captain show no emotion as he spoke. "Ryoma, go join the others." Tezuka didn't look at the boy's face knowing how much hurt was going to be showing on it. Instead Ryoma ran off to go find the regulars.

As he ran he couldn't help, but to hate that he was so weak. He didn't want to be a snitch. He didn't want to be a burden. He just wanted a life where he could live without anything going wrong.

Mizuki had just been making a deal with Akiyama when he had left and found a very interesting sight. One that no one could ever of believed. Kunimitsu Tezuka had shown his weakness. The said weakness had just ran off. Mizuki stayed to see what Mitsu would do next and to his surprised he could see it written across the others face. He had so much hatred and most of it was directed at himself. Oh, he could only hope that by the time his team and Seigaku had to face each other the boy and the captain were still at odds with each other. Mizuki couldn't help but smile. If things didn't change then St. Rudolph had an easy win.
