Chapter 42
Standing up quickly, Harry hurried from the room startling his friends and peered round the door to see no one there.
Sighing he thought he must have imagined it and returned to his seat and sat down. "Thought I saw someone," he mumbled to them.
For the rest of the day went without any problems but he was still thinking about seeing Tom and wondered if he was still alive at this time frame. Remembering something, he was unsure weather or not to go through with it and he said to the others later that evening that he was tired and going to bed early, so he hurried upstairs and closed the curtains around his bed and orbed out into the night.
Later on as Ron and Malfoy were going to bed Ron just assumed Harry was asleep and didn't bother him, but in fact he was not there. And the late night errand Harry was running was taking longer than he thought and worried that he would be caught. When none of the alarms went off, he picked up the small object and put the brown bag in his pocket and orbed back to the dormitory, as the others were now asleep.
Too nervous to sleep, Harry tossed and turned fingering the object in his pocket hoping no one would notice it was missing until it was time to collect it several years later.
Rising early the next morning, Harry was still wondering weather or not he should go through what he was going to do. It will change everything he mused hoping to get to know his parents a little better before he decided he should go through with it, so after breakfast left un eaten, he went into an empty class room and orbed out.
Finding himself to the tunnel leading to the chamber of secrets, he sighed nervously and climbed down the rusty ladder and entered the chamber.
Walking nervously, he remembered what happened here the second year and picked up his pace calling "Tom's" name as he went.
Heading to the snake's face, Tom came out of the shadows and was staring at him with his wand raised. "What do you want?" he hissed in a snake like voice.
'I have something for you' croaked, Harry his mouth suddenly gone dry. Licking his dry lips, he stepped forward pulled out the object from his pocked and nervously reached out his shaking hand.
"What is it…who are you?" Tom curiously asked.
"Just think of me as your guardian angel" Harry replied as Tom took the package and gasped when he undid the string of the brown bag and gasped.
"How did you come across the Philosopher's stone?" he asked amazed.
"You may need it one day" Harry replied stepping away.
As he hurried away from a shocked Tom, he hurriedly climbed back up the ladder and as he was about to orb away, he felt rather strange and there was a flash of gold light as the stone walls disappeared and his head spinning he collapsed to the stone cold floor in a heap.
Several moments later he thought he heard a woman's voice calling his name. Sighing, he opened his eyes and rolled over suddenly falling down onto a carpet.
His vision coming into focus, Harry gasped and remembered what had happened and saw blue. Putting his glasses on straight, he saw he was in a room, which was painted blue.
Standing up unsteadily, he looked about the room that looked familiar, but couldn't quite place it and went unsteadily to the mirror and gasped at his reflection, which was a younger looking version of him self, staring back at him. He looked like he was 11 or 12 years old, but he still felt like he was seventeen years of age.
"HARRY" came a woman's voice from the distance. "ARE YOU AWAKE…IT'S A BIG DAY?"
He knew that voice and gasped, 'Voldemort must have used the stone' he thought.
Going over to the door, he went cautiously through the hallway and down the stairs and to where his mothers voice was coming from, in the kitchen. It was a small bright kitchen and he felt at home right away and realized something, his scar was not on his head and felt the usual bit it had been on and wondered what had happened to his friends if his scar had disappeared.
Going through to the kitchen, his mother was preparing breakfast and he felt he couldn't eat anything but could only stare at his father reading the paper and his mother cooking.
"Are you nervous?"
"Why should I be?" he asked confused.
"It's your first day at Hogwarts, have you forgotten?"
"Oh…first day?' he mused sitting down smiling at them.
'I better eat something' he thought staring at the food, which she served and tucked in slowly.
"You better get your stuff ready to be taking to the car so we can take you to the station to catch the Hogwarts express train at eleven" his father said also eating breakfast. "Here's some money to have for your school term" handing him a small bag of gold coins.
"Thanks" Harry said gratefully after feeling full and too nervous to eat.
Heading up stairs again, he wondered if he still had his powers and stuck out his hand and said "jumper" Sighing in relief, he saw it disappear in a swirl of blue light and re appear in his hand seconds later.
Gathering his things together, he went down stairs and saw his parents ready to go to the car.
The drive was a long way to the station and Harry felt so nervous that he didn't want to go to Hogwarts and miss time with his parents. He thought as they approached the busy station.
Everything looked familiar to him apart from the fact his parents were bringing him to the station.
Now in the station, he heard Molly's voice and smiled as he saw Ron and called his name.
Ron turned and looked at him "sorry do I know you?"
Slightly taken aback, Harry shook his head and sighed as Ron went to beside his mother. 'This is going to be a long journey' thought Harry as he ran to the wall just after his parents.
