He dragged her along until she broke from his grasp, glowering at him as she rubbed her arm where his hand had left a mark.
"Loki, for Gods sake speak to me before you rip my arm from its place in my shoulder... I know what I said in there upset you... What else would you have me say in front of mother? She adores Thor, wants thing's to be as they should be in her eyes..." She reached up, lovingly caressing his cheek, tilting her head slightly. "You and I both know who is truly destined to be king, who deserves its name, glory and power, but we cannot say these thing's freely yet... We could be locked away for spreading treasonous thoughts..." She nodded, smirking, "perhaps not locked away in cells but certainly our room should mother hear..." She cupped his face in her hands, kissing his lips tenderly, stepping back. "I am going to speak with Heindam, see what he has been able to see of our brother and his health... Who knows, he may have taken to their odd ways of living..." She said, grinning as she felt his arms wrap around her. "Then, well... It'll just be Odin who stands in our way, and he is weak and no doubt longing to be released from this realm... It would almost be an act of kindness..." She sighed, flipping a piece of hair from her face, "so, if I have my kings leave..." Loki nodded, pulling her close he kissed her hungrily before letting her go.
"Go watch over him, sister, pray that the way is clearer than we know it to be, tell me the moment you do..." She bowed her head, backing away as he let her go.
"But of course, my king." She said, winking as she made her way out to the stables.
"Heindam? May I speak with you?" Sigyn asked, dismounting from her mare with her usual grace as the guard approached her, bowing his head.
"Your highness, you should not be outside the palace at this time, it is no longer safe for your midnight walks, especially not alone." He said, a small smile flickering to his lips as she curtsied to him, making her way to stand before him.
"Well, luckily for us both that is not what this is, and also I have one of the best of fathers men to keep an eye on me... Besides, once I have my answer I shall leave you to your duties and return to the security of my room... Cross my heart?" She said, smiling widely at him, batting her lashes at him, making him smirk as he went back to where he had been standing.
"What can I be of assistance to you, princess?"
"I have a question concerning my brother and hoped that you would be able to help me with it... No it is not can you turn a blind eye and bring him back, I am not ignorant to your duties and the price you pay should you fail them."
"I appreciate that, your highness."
"Yes, I merely came to ask if you had been watching him much, enough to give a light report on how he is coping on... Where did father actually send him, I don't recall... I know it is a lower realm... But I only know that because Asgard is as high as you can go..."
"He banished your brother to Midgard, my lady, to live with the mortals of Earth..."
"Earth, right... Rather dull name but, there you have it... And, how is he doing? Has he... Cross-bred with any of them yet? For that would not surprise my in the slightest... Is it cross breeding if he did that... Never mind, I shall ask one of the scholars that."
"He was doing seemingly well, my lady, he had befriended two females of their kind and was starting to be just as he was here... That was till he failed in doing what he intends to."
"Failed in what he intends to..? Oh no, he tried to pull..." She sighed heavily, hanging her head, stroking a piece of her hair. "Did it even budge, at all?" She asked, chewing her bottom lip.
"No, your highness, it did not move at all. He has been captured by those who enforce the law of the planet... He is broken, my lady... I should not suggest this but perhaps if you or your brother spoke with him, he would regain his stride."
"Yes... Yes I shall suggest such a thing to Loki as soon as I get back... Thank you Heindam, you may return to your duties as were before I disturbed you." She said, making her way back to her mare, mounting her before she rode across the rainbow river back to her home, in her mind she spoke with her brother.
"Loki, did you hear what he had to say? Thor is not himself... Perhaps it may make our people think well of you to bring back the broken man without his mighty weapon, show how merciful you can be..."
"Sigyn, you know I cannot yet do that, as much as it would please us all... What was it that Heindam said to you at the end, about us speaking with him?"
"Yes, I... I will be honest, I didn't realise that was at all possible, perhaps it'd be best if you did it? I mean, he will listen to you more than he would ever listen to me..."
"I shall do so... Thank you, my queen..." His voice purred within her mind, making her moan slightly, earning odd looks from the ladies who were passing her as she rode on.
"Yes Loki, please... Do help him, he may be a fool, but I do care for him."
"I shall do all I can sister, now enjoy the night and I shall speak with you later..." And with that, her mind was silent bar her own thought and inner voice. With this Sigyn pulled her horse to a halt, smirking as it dawned on her.
"My first night... Alone in our realm..." She laughed with pure glee, racing into the town only to yet again stop herself, hanging her head in shame. "Also mothers first night truly alone and Loki's first as regent... Oh why do I have such an annoying conscience..." She said, turning around she rushed back towards the stables.
