The sparing matches in combat class had started again. With Pyrrha having completed humiliated the full team of CADL for one of the final few matches. Glenn was at the back of the class, watching as the professor explained that they had a chance for two more matches.
"Miss Belladonna" Glynda spoke, catching the cat girl's attention as she snap her book shut. "You have been rather docile the last few classes, why not take the next match" Glynda suggested before Pyrrha stopped her.
"I actually wish to fight someone else" Pyrrha spoke up. "OH, but you have just finished a match miss Nikos" Glynda said with a raised eyebrow. "I haven't had much of a fight, and I believe Glenn needs to have a sparing much just as much as Blake" Pyrrha said as she locked eyes with the distracted blonde.
"What?" he questioned. "That is true, we should have enough time for this match" Glynda spoke as she gestured for Glenn to step forward. "Come down Mr Skellington" she ordered as the blonde sighed.
"Do you have a problem with me?" Glenn asked as he stood opposite Pyrrha, his gauntlets unfolded as Pyrrha narrowed her green eyes at him. "Yes, you have been holding back in every fight so far, and I'm going to make you take me seriously this time" Pyrrha declared as Glynda raised an eyebrow at the girls words.
"Why does this shit happen to me" Glenn grumbled. "I have no idea what you're talking about" Glenn replied to her as Pyrrha scowled at him. "I saw the news footage, you're so much stronger than you let on, and I will not take that insult laying down" Pyrrha replied.
"Great, a warriors pride" Glenn mumbled as he remembered a few times that Kiba had explained it to him. Why would anyone want to face the might of a god for the sake of their pride? It was stupid! Shaking his head, Glenn took a stance as Pyrrha scowled at him.
"Then force me to show my true strength" he challenged as the two new students in the class, looked on intently at the fight between two people they needed to watch out for. Pyrrha shot off as soon as the match was started, her sword stabbing towards the blonde chest as Glenn leant to the side.
As the sword past him, Glenn didn't have time to read as it suddenly shifted into a spear, Pyrrha adjusting her grip as the back end of the staff smashed into his face. "I said take me seriously" Pyrrha demanded as she pointed her spear towards him.
"Fine" as he spoke, the temperature seemed to drop around the classroom. Dull light encased his gauntlet, replacing the golden metal with pure white, his hand covered in metal claws as the barrel extended further over his wrists.
Stepping back into a stance, Glenn swept his hand across his face, his mask forming over his features as his eyes glowed with draconic power. Some student gasped as the horrific mask while Pyrrha smiled, her own stance shifting as she prepared herself.
A second past as the two shot off towards each other, Pyrrha stabbing her spear forward as Glenn ducked into a slide. The red head leaped to avoid the upper cut, only for her eyes to widen as his right hand shot further forward grasping her pony tail in his clawed hand.
With a harsh tug, the blonde brought he airborne girl back down to the ground, her chest hit the ground with a crack. Releasing her hair, Glenn stepped back to allow her up, his eyes staring intently at her as she waited for her next move.
"Well, aren't you going to make me show my strength, maybe your resolve wasn't enough after all" Glenn taunted as the girl scowled at him. Lunging forward, Pyrrha threw her shield towards the blonde, watching as he deflected it with a simple back hand.
With his hand up, his side was exposed as Pyrrha stabbed her spear forward. Only to be stopped dead as the blonde twisted to the right, his left hand gripping the blade of the spear as he held it still.
Pulling back slightly, Pyrrha shifted her spear into a sword, her free hand grabbing the blade as she flipped over the blonde shoulder. Twisting in mid air, Pyrrha tried to throw the blonde away, only to watch as Glenn jerked her blade downwards her free hand crashing into her stomach as she was sent flying into the wall.
Flipping to land on her feet, Pyrrha smiled as her shield came back around, crashing into the back of the blondes head as he stumbled forward in surprise. Pushing her advantage, Pyrrha closed the distance between them, her sword slashing Glenn across the chest cutting through his jacket before she leaped into the air in front of him.
Glenn blinked in confusion, his chest burning with pain as one of Pyrrha's heels cracked him across the face. As he fell, Glenn kicked his feet into the air, Leaping back to his feet as he stayed crouched, watching as Pyrrha landed opposite him.
"Okay, now I'm a little pissed, that the third time someone has kicked me with high heels" Glenn growled, he was getting sick of high heels coming in contact with his face. It hurts damn it! With a flick of his wrist, Glenn summoned his Katana.
The class and Glynda watched in awe as the ivory white blade formed in his hands, his armoured thumb flicking the guard as it spun like Weiss's rapier. In his other hand was a familiar jewel, his clawed fingers gripping it tightly as it pulse, ready to be used.
As the class stared at the two new items, Cinder stared intently at the jewel, wondering what connection this boy had with the being that had given her a red version of the silver jewel. "Release the order: heavens torment" Glenn commanded as the jewel shattered.
Energy exploded around the blonde, his gauntlet gaining silver jewels embedded into the back of his palms as a set of greaves formed over his feet. His mask shattered leaving only a shard over his left eye, the edge flaming across his nose as the covered eye glowed with an eerie gold.
"Don't blink" Glenn spoke, his voice warped as the guard of his blade landed on gold. Lightning cackled across his greaves as he vanished in a boom of static, the ground cracking behind him as the class stared in awe.
The blonde appeared to Pyrrha's left, only to vanish again as he appeared to her right. Soon, the arena was filled with images of the blonde, moving at such high speeds that made Ruby jealous at his control of the high speed movements.
Pyrrha herself couldn't keep track of Glenn at all his after images confusing her as she constantly glanced at every direction she could. Another boom of static erupted in front of her as the blonde appeared, his blade poised at the girls throat as she stared down at his glowing eyes in awe.
"This won't take long" Glenn spoke as he vanished, appearing on the other side of the arena, his blade at his side as his stance was loose and relaxed. "Well" Glenn questioned as Pyrrha looked unsure as to what to do.
Her confidence had been shattered by his display of speed, something no one should be able to do. She couldn't fight against that, all of her tricks and techniques would be useless against him right now.
And he still wasn't trying.
It infuriated her to know that Glenn was still taking it easy on her, mocking her skills by limiti8ng himself. She couldn't stand for that, she would force him to fight at his full strength. With new determination, Pyrrha charged forward, her sword cleaving through the air towards Glenn.
It was met with Glenn's own sword, her blade bouncing off the white Katana as Glenn continued to stay still, watching her with glowing eyes. With a growl she attacked again, her blade bouncing off his sword again as she let her body follow the flow of her sword.
With a back flip, the girl tried to kick him in the chin, only to miss as he leant backwards. As her feet hit the ground, Pyrrha shot forward, her sword shifting into a spear as she stabbed towards the blonde exposed chest.
Slowly, almost casually, Glenn stepped to the side avoiding the stab as Pyrrha moved to smash her shield into his face. Only to be met with Glenn's gauntlet, stopping her shield dead as the girl shifted to kick his feet from under him.
But as she moved to lower herself, for the kick, something that should take less than a second for her reflexes to do. Her throat was suddenly caught in a vice grip. Glenn lifted the stunned girl into the air, his clawed fingers keeping her suspended above the ground as he stared up at her.
"DIVIDE!" the gauntlet holding her bellow as Pyrrha's eyes widened, her strength being half in an instance being too hard for anyone to notice. With a flick of his wrist, Glenn sent the girl tumbling across the arena, Pyrrha sliding to a stop, her muscles feeling heavy as she climbed to her feet.
"Wha-what did you do?" she asked shakily as Glenn rested his blade at his side, returning to his relaxed stance again. "My powers allow me to divide anything I wish, be it strength, speed, intelligence, ever control over your own powers" Glenn spoke as he voice echoed throughout the silenced class.
No one could say anything, a power like that seemed unstoppable to them. Only they did not know of the struggles Glenn had to go through to obtain the control he had of his sacred gear, the amount of weeks spent under both Azazel and the goblin king training to use the divine dividing as effectively as he could now.
Even without his devil blood he could still use his gear, but without Albion he couldn't hope to access his balance breaker or his omega dive. But no one need to know that.
"Do you give up, in the face of impossible odds?" Glenn questioned as Pyrrha stared at him, her eyes narrowing as she realised Glenn was challenging her resolve again. "I'm not giving up" she promised, leaping forward to catch the blonde off guard.
Her spear stab impaled the floor of the arena, Glenn vanishing in a boom of static as he appeared behind her. "Good, but this match is over" he spoke, his hand resting on his back as Pyrrha's eyes widened.
"DIVIDE!" his gauntlet bellowed as her aura was halved, her body slumping to its knees as she felt more of her energy taken away from her. The cold steal of Glenn's blade rested against her throat as she slowly looked up to see his eyes, carrying a softness they hadn't throughout the match.
Your strong Pyrrha, but you need to know your own limits" he spoke, allowing his armour and weapon to shatter as he stepped away, Glynda calling the match as Pyrrha was left kneeing in the middle of the arena.
Outside the class, Team RWBY had congratulated Glenn on his win, Weiss scolding him on being to harsh on Pyrrha. "Hay Blake!" a voice spoke as the team turned to see Sun running towards them. "So ugh yeah, you know there's this dance on Sunday" he spoke, stumbling over his words as Blake just stared at him.
"What?"she asked irritated that the monkey faunus was annoying her again. Why couldn't he just leave her alone so she could focus on the white fang right now. "Yeah, I know it's stupid but I was thinking if we went together it would be less stupid" he said smiling as Blake sighed in annoyance.
"I don't have time for a stupid dance, I would have thought you of all people would know that" Blake replied, storming off in a huff as Sun looked dejected. "Harsh" Yang mumbled as Glenn just looked at her.
Back inside the room, the team were discussing the dance as Glenn sat beside Yang. "So, who are you going with?" Ruby asked as she turned to the rest of her team. "What do you think?" Yang questioned as she stole a glance at Glenn.
"What, I was going with Ren" he replied as the girl hit him on the back of the head. "Don't be a smart ass" she scolded as Glenn gave her a deep panned stare. "So, you two are going together" Weiss questioned as she stared at the two blondes.
"Ugh, yeah, why does the ice queen want a dance with my boyfriend?" Yang teased as Weiss looked away, her cheeks heating up as the blonde girl laughed at her. "What about you Blake?" Ruby asked as she turned to the silent one of the team.
"I don't have time for a stupid dance" she replied with narrowed eyes. "Blake, we don't have any leads on the white fang, your working yourself ragged and it it's healthy" Glenn spoke up as he pushed off her bed, sitting down beside Blake as she glared at him.
"We don't have time to just mess around, something big is going on and we're the only ones that could stop it" Blake snapped as she stormed out of the room. "I'll talk to her later" Yang said as she stopped Glenn form going after the girl.
A knock on the door drew the teams attention as Weiss moved to open it. And was presented with Jaune standing in the hallway with a guitar. "Weiss~~" he sang, strumming the strings as the girls slammed the door shut.
"Oh, come on, open the door" he whined as Glenn wondered why the blonde was trying so hard. "I promise not to sing" he mumbled as the girl sighed and opened the door for him. "I lied~~" he snag as he started to play the guitar.
"Weiss Schnee, will you accompany me, to the dance~~~ on Sunday~~" he sang stumbling over his last words as the girl looked at him blankly. "Are you done?" she asked as the blonde smiled. "Ugh yes" he answered as the door was once again slammed in his face.
"And that's why we call you the ice queen" Yang said as the white clad girl glared at her. "Why not give Jaune a chance anyway?" Yang added as Glenn sat on Blake's bed, thinking of something he could do now that he knew Jaune could play the guitar.
"I already have someone I want to go to the dance with" Weiss replied as she stole a glance at Glenn, only to see the blonde leaving the room. "Hay Jaune wait up!" he called as the girl scowled lightly.
"You know he has a harem right, it's not that bad to admit you like him" Yang said with a grin as Weiss blushed again.
Later that night, Pyrrha was seated on the roof she had been using to train Jaune over the school term. But tonight she couldn't train him as she had too many thoughts going through her head. the sound of someone sitting down beside her drew her attention as she spotted the ear length golden blonde hair swaying in the wind.
"What's up with you?"Glenn asked, glancing at the red head as she turned her attention to the shattered moon. "I...just can't get over my lose to you" Pyrrha admitted as Glenn raised an eyebrow. "That can't be that bad" Glenn spoke as Pyrrha shook her head.
"It is, I have been trained to win ever since I could walk, and for the first time I've found someone better than me, and I just don't know what to do" she explained, resting her chin on her knees in thought.
"There's always going to be someone stronger than you out there" Glenn spoke up as Pyrrha glanced at him. "I don't think that applies to you" she countered as Glenn gave her a solemn laugh in reply. "Yes, there are, one of them was the creature that killed me, Fenrir the son of Loki" Glenn said as Pyrrha stared at him in shock.
Son he recounted the story of his fight with Fenrir, the wolf keeping him bust as the rest of his friend took on Loki, the god trying to end the word by causing Ragnarok. "I was killed, his fang destroyed my heart, its why in have this scare" he explained, lifting his T-shirt up to show the jagged star scare above his heart.
"There will always be people better than you Pyrrha, but you just have to improve yourself" he finished as Pyrrha stared at him for what seemed like hours before she spoke. "Train me" Glenn could only stare at her in confusion as she leaned forward, locking eyes with him.
"Train me, I don't want to lose against anyone, I want to be able to protect everyone I can, even you" she admitted, a blush dusting her cheeks as she turned away form the blonde. "I'm not much of a teacher" Glenn admitted.
"I'll do anything for your help" Pyrrha added as Glenn paused in thought. "Alright, but we'll start after the dance" Glenn said, climbing to his feet as Pyrrha smiled, watching him leave the roof top. Soon his words had reached her as her eyes widened in shock.
She forgot to ask him to the dance!
