Once outside Sigyn turned to face him, draping her arms around his shoulders as she licked her lips, smirking as she felt his hands upon her waist.
"You were exquisite my king, truly a powerful force that no one will ever disobey or expect... And you are all mine..."
"I was going to say something similar to you, you were silent and yet like the second part of my soul that you are you spoke for me and stood with me... No other shall have your eternal trust in them as I do... Come, if we wish to wed before the night is out we are best to go... Oh sweetest love, you came by horse for me..." He smirked, lifting her onto the fine stallion before climbing on behind her, guiding the horse into a gallop as it raced them back home, his riders entangled in what was their first truly open kiss, no fears or panic to hide from those who stood and stared at the royal pair.
At the stables he dismounted and carried her into the palace in the way a groom would his bride, straight to where their mother was and after Sigyn turned the handle the two went in. Frigga looked up at the two, a soft smile upon her lips.
"My dears, I thought I asked for you to go to bed," she said as Loki put Sigyn down who rushed over to her.
"Mother, who can sleep when there is such true wonder and joy in this realm now..." She said, cuddling her close, giggling with glee
"What are you speaking of my child, what has happened that has made you so joyous? Not that I am complaining just merely confused..." She said, holding her close before she stepped back, "speak plainly dear."
"Mother, I and Loki know that we are not of the same blood, that I was left with him by pure... Chance of the Gods or stubbornness that I would not let go of him... And so, within our laws guidance and lead, Loki has asked for me to be his wife," she said, pulling the older woman around as she danced with pure joy in each step.
"Wife? What... but dear you are... Well you were raised as such but..." Frigga sighed, stopping her daughter, a concerned smile upon her face. "Is this truly what you both want? To be bound together for life, through all hardships life may throw at you?"
"It is mother," Loki said, coming to stand behind Sigyn, holding her close by the waist.
"We came here because... We hoped you would perform the ceremony. If you would mother, we would be in your debt for life." Frigga sighed, beaming at the two as she nodded, clearing her throat.
"It'd be my joy and pleasure to give you two this gift... Allow me to get some thing's that I feared I would never see used by this family again in my lifetime..." She said, going off to one of the chests before coming back with a full goblet, a long scarf of finest silk with the history of the family embroided into it and two rings, one of gold the other silver. She looked between the two. "Certain you want me to do this?"
"I am," Sigyn said, looking up to Loki who nodded.
"As am I," he said, kissing her cheek. Their mother nodded, taking a breath she readied herself.
"We have come together here in celebration of the joining together of Sigyn and Loki. There are many things to say about marriage. Much wisdom concerning the joining together of two souls, has come our way through all paths of belief, and from many cultures. With each union, more knowledge is gained and more wisdom gathered. Though we are unable to give all this knowledge to these two, who stand before us, we can hope to leave with them the knowledge of love and its strengths and the anticipation of the wisdom that comes with time." She looked between the two, who had moved themselves so they were now facing one another, earning a small smile from their mother, who cleared her throat and continued.
"The law of life is love unto all beings. Without love, life is nothing, without love, death has no redemption. Love is anterior to Life, posterior to Death, initial of Creation and the exponent of Earth. If we learn no more in life, let it be this. Marriage is a bond to be entered into only after considerable thought and reflection. As with any aspect of life, it has its cycles, its ups and its downs, its trials and its triumphs. With full understanding of this, Groom and Bride have come here today to be joined as one in marriage. Others would ask, at this time, who gives the bride in marriage, but, as a woman is not property to be bought and sold, given and taken, I ask simply if she comes of her own will and if she has her family's blessing. Bride, is it true that you come of your own free will and accord?" She asked, turning to Sigyn, smirking ever so slightly.
"Yes, it is true." She said, as she had practised many a time in her room when alone.
"With whom do you come and whose blessings accompany you..." She bit her lip a second, thinking how to carry on, before taking her daughters hand. "She comes with me, her mother, and is accompanied by all of her family's blessings." She let go of her hand, giving a scolding look as Sigyn thought back the laugh in her throat. "Please join hands with your betrothed and listen to that which I am about to say. Above you are the stars, below you are the stones, as time doth pass, remember..." She said as the couple took one another's hand, keeping the other free, their mother lay the scarf upon its centre there.
"Like a stone should your love be firm like a star should your love be constant. Let the powers of the mind and of the intellect guide you in your marriage, let the strength of your wills bind you together, let the power of love and desire make you happy, and the strength of your dedication make you inseparable. Be close, but not too close. Possess one another, yet be understanding. Have patience with one another, for storms will come, but they will pass quickly." She wrapped it around their hands once with one end and then the other."
"Be free in giving affection and warmth. Have no fear and let not the ways of the unenlightened give you unease, for God is with you always." With this she wrapped both ends around twice more before tying it firmly, turning to her son, a slight raised eyebrow. "Groom, I have not the right to bind thee to Bride, only you have this right. If it be your wish, say so at this time and place your ring in her hand.
"It is my wish." He said, handing the gold ring to Sigyn, their mothers attention going once more to her.
"Bride, if it be your wish for Groom to be bound to you, place the ring on his finger." Sigyn did as she was told, sliding the gold ring onto Loki's left ring finger. "Bride I have not the right to bind thee to Groom only you have this right. If it be your wish, say so at this time and place your ring in his hand."
"It is my wish." She said, handing the silver ring to he as yet again their mother looked to him.
"Groom, if it be your wish for Bride to be bound to you, place the ring on her finger." Loki slid the silver upon the same finger of Sigyn's left hand, earning an approving nod from Frigga. "Now, speak the vow which all true grooms know by heart," to this Loki nodded, looking into Sigyn's eyes, which had slowly began to become glazy with tears.
"I, Loki, second born of Asgard, in the name of the spirit of God that resides within us all, by the life that courses within my blood and the love that resides within my heart, take thee Sigyn, third born of Asgard, to my hand, my heart, and my spirit, to be my chosen one. To desire thee and be desired by thee, to possess thee, and be possessed by thee, without sin or shame, for naught can exist in the purity of my love for thee. I promise to love thee wholly and completely without restraint, in sickness and in health, in plenty and in poverty, in life and beyond, where we shall meet, remember, and love again. I shall not seek to change thee in any way. I shall respect thee, thy beliefs, thy people, and thy ways as I respect myself."
"Oh very well spoken my dear, and now it is your turn Sigyn, speak the vow every bride should know when in your place." Swallowing hard first as her throat began to block up with glee, Sigyn said her vow.
"I, Sigyn, third born of Asgard, in the name of the spirit of God that resides within us all, by the life that courses within my blood, and the love that resides within my heart, take thee, Loki, second born of Asgard, to my hand, my heart, and my spirit to be my chosen one. To desire and be desired by thee, to possess thee, and be possessed by thee, without sin or shame, for naught can exist in the purity of my love for thee.
"Well done dear, I am proud you knew it so well... Now, Loki and Sigyn, may you drink your fill from the cup of love." She said, handing him the goblet, which he took, holding it to his betrothed as she sipped her share of it, before doing the same for Loki as he drank from it. Frigga took the now empty Goblet from them as she slowly began to undo the scarf from their hands. "By the power held in me as Queen of Asgard, by the Gods and realm, I now pronounce you man and wife. May your love so endure that its flame remains a guiding light unto you." She said, pulling the scarf away as the two kissed each other hungrily, wrapping their arms around one another.
"Thank you mother..." Sigyn said, cuddling her close, tears rolling down her cheeks as Loki led her from the room and to his chamber which was now to be known as theirs.
