The resounding whack echoing around the white fang members as Ruby fell to the ground, holding her stinging cheek as Roman retracted his cane, chuckling to himself as he loomed over her. "You are so much more manageable without that over sized gardening tool" he said, leaning on his cane in amusement.
Growling to herself, Ruby lunged to her feet, her right fist being thrown forward as she attempted to smash the criminals face in. Only to miss as he side stepped her, his cane guiding her back to the floor with a dull thud.
"You know Perry I really did need this" Roman said as the glasses wearing Faunus gave him a thumbs up. "But in all seriousness, how did you find this place red?" he asked, kneeling down as he placed the barrel f his cane just under Ruby's throat.
Narrowing her eyes at him, Ruby dug her ankle into the ground and before Roman knew it, she was gone, disappearing in a burst of red petals. "What the..." Roman questioned, turning to see Ruby making a run for it down the train tracks.
"Nice try Red" he said, flipping his cane as the hooked end fired, catching the escaping girls cloak as she was dragged back to his feet. "I see you have some tricks, but they aren't going to work" he said, smiling down at her.
He was about to gloat more, only for an explosion in the distance to catch his attention. "What now" he groaned, he never gets to do the evil villain thing very often, can't he get a break just this once? "Perry, can you and the boys go take care of that, I'm in the middle of something" he said as the Faunus behind him nodded.
Another explosion shook the cave as a few white fang ran around the corner, shooting back at something following them. Ruby's expression brightened as she saw her team and Oobleck rushing around the corner.
Taking her chance Ruby jumped on Roman head, pushing his hat down over his eyes before dashing away, the ginger criminal growling as he aimed his cane at her. "Someone kill that brat" he yelled firing the flares of his cane as the white fang around him fired their rifles.
Now if only they could shoot straight, their as bad as stormtroppers!
"That's it, attach this car and spread the word, we're leaving" Roman said as the faunus beside him protested, only to be smashed with the end of the cane, knocking him out cold. "Perry, get this train moving now!" he ordered as some of the other came to pick up the knocked out Faunus.
"Ruby!" Yang cheered, hugging her sister as the other gathered around her. "Are you okay?" Weiss asked as Yang set her sister down. "I'm fine, but we have to hurry, Roman's got weapons and robots loaded into the train cars" she said as Oobleck looked at her oddly.
"That doesn't make sense, these tracks lead to dead ends, the tunnels were sealed" he mused. "Get to your places people, we are leaving now!" Romans voice yelled over the speaker system as the train lurched forward.
"Well, it sounds like their going somewhere" Yang voiced as Ruby grabbed her phone. "We need back up, let me call Jaune" she said, dialling the number as Blake narrowed her eyes at the train. "We still need to find Glenn" she mumbled as Weiss nodded beside her.
Inside his dark room, Glenn felt the whole place lurch forward, the sound of a train wheels spinning as the room started to move. Just where the hell was he? "Fuck it" pushing the door to his room open as he saw he was inside a train car.
On another cart, one of the white fang members spotted something red disappearing behind the train. "Hay, I think their..." he was cut off as a green and silver bow staff whacked him on the back of the head, knocking him out as Oobleck peered around the door with a grin.
"Boss, they made it on the train!" another yelled as Roman glanced back form the front cart. "Then grab some cargo and get them off" he snapped as the faunus looked nervous. "But ugh...what about Neo's room" he said as Roman pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance.
"Just leave it, whatever she has in there is her own business, and don't even think of opening it, she'll know and I'll have to hear her rant about it, stupid girl" Roman muttered as the white fang nodded. "What did she even bring into that room?" he mumbled as an afterthought.
That girl was rather strange after all. But as long as it wasn't a boy he would be happy, no way was he letting some teenager after his little girl, she was going to be at least thirty before he allowed her to start dating anyone.
Man he was a weird father.
"We should head up to the carts up ahead and stop this train" Oobleck ordered as he rested his bow staff on his shoulder. "Ugh Professor?" Weiss said as Oobleck glanced at her. "Doctor" he pointed out as the girl ignored him.
"What's that?" she asked, looking at the open hatch in front of her. Oobleck titled his head, looking at the odd barrel with red and blue wires coming out of it. "That my dear" he said, kneeling down as he pointed at the object.
"Is a bomb" he finished as the four members of team RWBY flinched. "Why are their bombs on the train!" Ruby yelled before all five of them lurched forward, the train cart there were on slowly pulling away from the rest of the train.
"Come on!" Weiss said, leaping over to the other cart as the others followed. "What are they doing?" Blake asked, turning to see the cart coming to a stop in the middle of the tracks. And exploding a second later shaking the tunnel as Oobleck looked thoughtful.
"We need to stop the train!" he ordered, turning to march onto the next cart. "What's wrong, what's going on?" Yang questioned as the man pushed his glasses up slightly. "The white fang are planning to lead the Grimm to the city, those explosions are going to both attract them and rip holes through the tunnel to allow them inside, we need to stop this train before it hits the end of the tracks" he said as members of the white fang started to peer out of the forward carts, aiming their rifles at the five.
As team RWBY turned to face them, a pair of glowing eerie yellow eyes watching the escaping train form just beyond the cloud of smoke the bomb created. "I wonder how Cinder will take to her plan going ahead of schedule...oh well the girl needs a reason to go to the king soon enough" Thanatos said with a fanged grin as his clawed feet started moving forward.
A growl made the horned demon raise an eyebrow as a Beowulf stood beside him, its claws digging into the ground as it started back at his horrific skull face. "Go, have fun" he said, watching as the beats lunged forward, a pack following after as numerous death stalkers and a snake Grimm followed.
Oh he was going o have so much fun watching his king despair form what was to come.
Now if only he could find that annoying dragon, the damn old beast needed to be kept away from the king for now, no need to give him too much power too soon.
Glenn's Katana ripped through the neck of an annoying white fang, the corpse falling to the ground as the masked teen turned his glowing eyes to the group backing away from him. "Come on" he urged them, smiling under his mask as his clawed fingers clicked together.
One of the members lost their nerve as they dropped their weapon, turning to run screaming about demons. Only to get a few feet away from the group before a ivory white blade ex0ploded through his stomach, no amount of aura able to help him as the blade viciously twisted upwards, cleaving the faunus in half as the two halves of the corpse fell to the ground with a sickening splat.
The others of the group looked horrified as Glenn turned to them, his mask breaking away, leaving only a shard covering his left eye as his smile grew colder. "Sorry, no one gets out alive" he said mockingly, sparks racing across his greaves before he disappeared in a boom of static.
Appearing on the other side of the group, Glenn calmly flicked his sword arm, a trail of blood splattering across the train cars floor as the white fang behind him suddenly cried out in pain. Only to hear gargles noise as they collapsed holding their throats, blood spraying across the ground as they died choking on their own life fluid.
"You wanted war...then I'll give you a bloody one" he snarled softly, his mind turning to the image of a hill of swords, corpses laying around him as the kneeling form of the red dragon emperor was in front of him.
How many times would he need to see that war before it would stop haunting him, how many of his friends would lay dead at his feet if he didn't stop those monsters of the chaos brigade from destroying the underworld.
How many times would he need to see one of his loves come close to death by those monsters if he wasn't there in time.
He would return soon, to all of them.
But for now he needed to figure out what was going on.
Leaping through a group of white fang, Blake sliced through their dented armour with her blades, both swords easily putting the Faunus around her down as she twirled in mid air, leaving behind a shadow clone to take a hit as she attacked another white fang.
Ruby was up ahead, her scythe easily cutting and tripping the white fang, throwing them off the train cart and into the advancing horde of Grimm behind them. She would feel sorry about that later, but for now she needed to keep vale safe from these Grimm and the white fang.
"We need to hurry, Weiss, Blake, Yang, you three go down below and stop whoever is activating these bombs" Oobleck ordered as he rushed up towards the four girls. "What about us?" Ruby asked as the man glanced at the far end of the train.
"We're going to stop this train" he said as Ruby gave him a dry look. "I know, I said that before" she pointed out as the green haired hunter ignored her. As the three dropped into the car below them, Oobleck and Ruby rushed on ahead, more of the white fang making their way towards them.
"I guess this is what we trained for" Yang said as she dropped into the train car, Blake and Weiss following a second later as the three nodded to each other. "Here, this should help" Weiss said, handing Blake a clip of multiple dust rounds for her weapon.
As they started to move ahead, a boom of static made the three pause as a familiar brown, white and pink young women appeared in front of them. "Go on ahead, this one's mine" Yang said, flicking her gauntlets as a new shell was loaded into each barrel.
As Blake and Weiss rushed ahead, Neo attempted to stop them, only to be forced to dodge a flare shell exploding in front of her as Yang leaped forward. "Think you can just try and steal my boyfriend without me knowing!" Yang yelled, her fist coming down on Neo as she leaped backwards, an explosion of fire forcing her to vanish in a boom of static as Yang glared at her.
Appearing to Yang left, Neo titled her head a vicious smile growing across her face as she leaned back and relaxed on one of the boxes, taunting Yang as the blonde girl lunged towards her. Leaning backwards, Neo avoided the fist, her right leg coming up and striking Yang in the throat as the blonde stumbled back in surprise.
Without missing a beat, the silent girl pushed herself forward, twisting her body downwards as her parasail slashed at Yang, forcing the girl further back before Neo rolled forward, pushing off her right hand as her legs collide around Yang shoulder throwing her off balance before she was tossed into a crate on the other side of the train car.
Twirling in her landing, Neo smiling cruelly, wondering how someone like this girl could get the attention of her cutie. Her smile faded as two shotgun rounds exploded out of the destroyed crate, forcing her to expand her parasail and redirect the flaming bullets as Yang charged forward, her eyes glowing red with rage.
In the next car, Both Weiss and Blake were stopped as a large Faunus stepped in front of them, brandishing a chain sword in his right hand as his masked face turned to glare at the Schnee heiress. "I've always wanted to kill a Schnee" he sneered as Weiss raised her rapier in response.
"Go" she said as Blake looked at her before nodding, rushing past the Faunus and into the next train car. "Let's dance filth" Weiss said, a glyph forming under her as the Faunus revered his chain sword. Both fighters met in the middle of the car, Weiss redirecting the chain sword with her rapier as she spun to slice at the man's exposed side.
Only for her eyes to widen as his free hand smashed into her face, his body twisting as he threw her across the car with little resistance. "I thought you would be stronger little Schnee" the Faunus taunted, levelling his chain sword as Weiss stood back up.
"You'll find I'm stronger than most" Weiss countered, weaving her rapier through the air as a stars of ice dust shot towards the white fang.
In the next car, Blake paused as she spotted Roman leaning against a stack of crates, humming to himself as he tapped his cane against the ground. "Wow, I didn't think I would see you again kitty" he said, pushing himself up as Blake glared at him.
"Nothing to say this time, and you were so talkative last time" he said as Blake unsheathed her dual swords. "Fine, if you're going to be no fun we might as well get this over with" he sighed the end of his cane flicking up as he raised it towards the girl.
As the flare shot, Blake moved, diving to the left as the dust flare exploding against the car, shaking it slightly.
Further on ahead on the train, Glenn felt the train shake slightly, his glowing eyes narrowing as he dropped the corpse of a female faunus, her neck snapped as his clawed grip released her. "You girls better be okay" he mumbled, turning towards the door to the next car his greave clad feet softly splashing in the pool of blood as he stepped over a few corpses in his way.
