Down in the sewer, Peter and Kyle were looking everywhere for Wendy; the Lost Kids noticed the frantic appearance of the two boys. While the others wondered why, one of them did a head count and found that two people were missing.

Upon realizing the situation, the Lost Kids were beginning to panic because Peter became grayer each day Wendy wasn't there.

In the basement of the main office building, were two girls locked in different cells; one calmly leaning against the wall, the other picking furiously at the lock.

"That's not going to work, Hook changed the locks," said Ash.

"How can you tell?" asked Wendy, finally giving up.

"Cause the last time I was here I was able to open these damn doors."

"Last time?"

"Yeah but Hook doesn't really know that; as far as he's concerned, all kids are sent down here or to the firing squad. Doesn't bother to interrogate them either; to him Pan's not that big of a threat."

"And now?"

"Now Pan's a problem," Ash smiled without mirth.

A door opened and Smee stepped in; everyone, including Hook, fount it questionable how a loveable Scottish man came to be a pirate. He came in with two trays of food, Ash rolled her eyes.

"Wendy, if he asks any questions, don't answer him. Let me do the talking," said Ash for Wendy's ears only.

"Don't believe everything you hear Miss Wendy," said Smee, "she led you into a trap, she did."

Ash sneered, "I was tricked."

"You came to us first, because of Pan. Which remind me, how is Pan doing?"

"Better than you'll be once I get out of here."

Smee snorted and directed his attention to Wendy, his expression softened a fraction, a kind smile toying on his mouth. "Now Miss Wendy, the Cap'n has a proposal for you; everyone wants to get out of this god forsaken island. Pan's the only one that knows how to, my Cap'n proposed that you give us Pan and we'll send you home to your dear mum."

Wendy gave a thoughtful and confused look, she thought everyone know how to get off the island and that was to fly. Then she remembered not seeing a single since arriving and fairies were the main source of pixie dust to humans; a horrible thought set in, the fairies received the dust from the pixie dust tree and with every block of the island replaced by city. The pixie dust tree couldn't be standing, not in the state the island was in. The only large source of pixie dust left was in Wendy's small room in the sewers.

Then her thoughts turned to Peter, how he was joking and telling her stories about some of his adventures, one time getting so caught up in the tale that he crowed. With some time spent with him, his color had greatly improved since first meeting him but with all that time, she didn't see him at least an inch off the ground. She made a silent promise to herself that if she ever got out of the cell, she'd give Peter some of the pixie dust.

"Don't do it Wendy," warned Ash, breaking into Wendy's thoughts. "Don't hand Peter over to these scum."

Smee suddenly seemed too close to Ash's cell, trying hard to seem threatening. He was holding Ash by the scruff of her shirt; because of his attempting anger, he didn't catch the odd glint in her eyes. "Don't be calling us scum, lest we ain't living on the streets like you lot. And hasn't ye mother ever you don't speak unless spoken to?"

Ash rolled her eyes at the old world reference but the odd glint seemed to intensify.

He let go of Ash and directed his attention back to Wendy. "So, lass, what do ye say?"

Hook's offer was tempting, playing out a common weakness in Lost Kids: a family, a home. As tempting as it was, she remembered Peter down in the tunnels, how devastated to learn that the first Wendy was no longer alive. How grey he turned, almost like stone; despair was a heavy stone, she realized. She couldn't imagine him going through that again; couldn't stand to see him go through it because of her betrayal, her fault.

With that thought she had her answer: "No."

A/N: Hey sorry for not updating in so long. Major writers block but now that I'm back into one of my old hobbies I can write again; seriously, target practice is a good stress reliever. Now that I'm looking at the chapter, it practically wrote itself and the sewer scene played a bigger role than I originally thought. I have a question for you lovely readers: If Smee made you this offer, what you do and why?
