'That was the last time.' The skyline was a milky, dark blue, with tendrils of fog and mist creeping up along the window pane. A full moon shone along the edges of the trees, outlining them, animating them.

"I love full moons." Max offered, his speech personifying itself as a cloud of cool condensed air escaping from him. The full moon was special, not only to werewolves, contrary to popular belief, but to almost all magical beings. It empowered and fortified the magic coursing through wizards blood, often setting emotions on high. Spells and curses were more potent on a full moon, wizards and witches were stronger, more dangerous. Vampires were more deadly.

And, totally irrelevant, full moons made Max horny.

In his (often failed) attempts to stop adulterating with his brother, Max had taken to flat out avoiding him in any situation they were alone. It didn't stop him from thinking about Justin, he was always thinking about him. His lips and his grin and the way their teeth would clash in that fight for dominance that it didn't really matter who won. And every time without fail his body got hot and cold and his brain would freeze up.

V was staring at him intently, the moon reflecting a silver glow within his eyes. He was so good looking, which only served to piss Max off. If someone like V couldn't take his mind off of Justin, he was totally fucked. V bent to nuzzle his nose against Max's jaw, inhaling deeply, before lightly grazing his teeth against the stretch of muscle leading to Max's collarbone. "As do I." he mumbled, without moving. They were walking home from school, and Max had called ahead to ask if V could sleep over- a massive perk of being in the closet and having your boyfriend as your tutor. "Hey, look alive, we're almost home." Max said, glancing around. They turned onto the cobblestone street of the sandwich shop and V begrudgingly straightened. "For now, I'll behave." he said. 'But tonight, there will be no escaping me."

Max smiled. "I hope not." He said. He still hasn't had sex with V and he wasn't sure why. He wanted to, if only because it would mean he lost his virginity to...not his brother, a thought he had thought too many times. The shop was still abuzz with customers, it didn't close for another hour on Friday nights. Justin was behind the counter, working a shift, and his eyes met Max's for a second before they both looked away, but it was so fucking electric, that one second, Max felt winded. He mentally shook his head and grabbed V's sleeve. Why couldn't he pull himself together? When would he get to a point where he could look at Justin without feeling like he was being hit by a semi?

"Hey Justin!" V grinned and waved as he was dragged upstairs. Justin raised his hand and waved once and V's smile brightened. Max's brow furrowed. For someone so smart, V was really oblivious.

Justin's expression very clearly read 'Die, bitch.'

Justin was in his room, trying to focus on his readings and not the sounds of V and Max giggling at 22 Jump Street, interjected with the occasional sounds of kissing. His blood actually felt hot in his veins. He hated V so much, he had actually been tempted in a very real way to cast a spell on him. The logical part of him knew that would be bad, that would make him as bad as Alex. But the illogical part of him...it's voice grew louder every day. Eventually the sound of the movie stopped and the shower started. Were they showering together? Just as he was getting ready to implode, his door was rapped on. Before he could get a chance to say anything, it was shoved open.

"Uh...V." he said, not actively trying to hide the disgust in his voice.

"Hey Justin." V smiled, pushing his stupid blond hair behind his ear. "What's up?" Without asking he sat on Justin's bed, making himself comfortable. Justin stared him down, his brow furrowed so hard it almost hard. "Just working, where's Max?" he said all in the same breath. Where the fuck did this person get off making out with Max then sitting on his bed.

"He's showering." V smiled.

"Ok." Justin said curtly, his expression unchanged. V's smile was relentless, and he turned back to his work, annoyed at having to look at his face.

"Hey, Justin?"

"What." Justin snapped.

"I know you're fucking around with Max, and you need to stop."

The room went so still, Justin could hear his blood halt in his veins and his heart stop. His breath caught in his stomach-he didn't know how long this lasted, it felt like days.

"I'm not an idiot, and you're not being particularly careful." V's voice sounded completely different, darker, but his smile was still there. "I'm not going to criticize you for fucking around with your own brother, I'm sure you do that to yourself enough. Hell if he were my brother I'd do the same thing." here his smile faded, and it was like the lights went off in his eyes.

"So stop it, or else."

Despite the buzzing in his head and pounding in his chest, Justin still felt his lip curl. "Or else what?" he said evenly, raising his eyes to V's.

V simply shook his head. "Or else." he repeated, keeping his eyes trained on Justin's, his voice equally level. They stared at each other like this for a while, a standoff for nothing, and everything, and Justin felt he'd rather die than break eye contact.
