No one could move, Grim, human or Faunus were frozen as they stared at the glowing pale blue light, the yellow eyes glaring at the demonic monster across the courtyard. Team RWBY, JNPR, and CFVY waited with baited breath as the glow started to dim.
Something moved within the dimming light, a flash of silver cleaving through the air as a booming voice bellowed.
"Transcendent sword!"
In a flash the light vanished, reviling the white knight that stood there...only different.
His armour, once sleek and form fitting had morphed, becoming sharper as the defined chest plate adored the knight's chest, glowing blue marking sprouting from the blue jewel in the middle of his chest, finished with a long blue cap falling down his back.
Dark blue under armour adored his abs, connected to the white crotch plate that encircled his waist. Smooth high plates were attached to his legs, connecting to the white greaves that sported large yellow claws at the end.
Two hexagon shaped plated were attached to the knights shoulders, a symbol of a dragon coiled around a diamond embedded into the armoured surface. His armoured arms were adored with large dragon headed gauntlets instead of hands, the right one sporting a large glowing broadsword blade, glowing white symbols itched along the flat edge.
"Hahaha, so the old dragon did it" Thanatos cackled, feeling his kings power rolling off him in waved of rage. No one saw the next move, only blinking in disbelief as the knight seemed to appear in front of the demon, the ground where he once stood shattering as his blade clashed against the flaming Katana.
"What now King, you can fight me, but can you save them!" Thanatos cackled as the knight and demon clashed blades, flames and sparks cascading around them. "Don't think I'm rusty Thanatos!" Glenn's warped voice bellowed in return, his left dragon head flicking out, the jaw clanking open as Thanatos cackled in glee.
"Omega canon!" the knight roared as the large barrel extended out of the dragon head, sparking with energy as the knight adjusted his aim, his blade keeping Thanatos at bay. "Omega blaster!" as if on command, a large pale blue beam exploded out of the barrel, sweeping through the courtyard, reducing the Grimm to ashes instantly.
"You can't beat my army to easily King!" Thanatos roared, vanished in a burst of static as more of his Grimm exploded out of the breach. "Then I'll end you first!" Glenn roared in return, leaping into the air after the demon.
Blake watched in fear as the new armoured knight met the demon head on once again, blades clashing together as the shockwave displaced the air around them."Come on!" the voice of Ruby snapped the cat girl out of her shock as she turned to give her, her full attention.
"Get the civilians out of the courtyard, Jaune keep the Grimm off of us, Velvet, can you cover the skies" Ruby ordered as Coco smiled at the young leaders words. "Well, you heard her, no point gawking at the shining knight above us, gets these people to safety" the stylish second year ordered as she started to spin the barrel of her machine gun again.
She wasn't letting a first year show her up any time soon.
"What about us" Weiss asked as she watched the other hunter teams working to keep the Grimm at bay, the distracted titanic class Grimm being cut down before they could get their wits about them. "We need to get to Glenn" Ruby said as both Weiss and Blake looked at her in disbelief.
"What, that's suicide" the fairy like girl yelled as Ruby narrowed her eyes towards the fighting above them, the flashes of white and blue was all she could see before two beams of silver and gold exploded against each other.
"It doesn't matter Glenn is ours and I'm not losing him again" Yang cut in as Ruby smiled at her sister. "This is still idiotic" Weiss grumbled before readying her rapier. Oh she was so owned a date form that stupid demon after this.
"When has anything we've done not been?" Blake questioned as Weiss shot her a dirty look. "Let go!" Ruby yelled as they shot off towards the fight above them.
Not far away, Ozpin watched in interest as one of his more interesting students battled the unknown classed Grimm. Beside him, Peter and Glynda stood, the blonde women looking nervous as she noticed the rest of team RWBY making their way towards the fight.
"We have to stop them" she said, preparing to leap off the building before Ozpin held up his cane. "Not yet, Peter, would you and the good doctor mind helping in the courtyard" Ozpin said as the larger man titled his head slightly.
"I don't believe this is the time to see if random theories prove correct" Peter replied as she lifted his blunder buss axe up. "I think we should have a little faith, don't you" Ozpin countered as the larger professor sighed.
"Might as well, but if anything happens it's on you" Peter warned before leaping off towards the green haired teacher. "What are you doing Ozpin, they could be killed just being near those two!" Glynda snapped as Ozpin sipped his coffee.
"I know...but this is something different, you were their when our young demon merged with the unknown Grimm, this wont be the last time something like this will happen" Ozpin said as Glynda sighed, leaping off towards the courtyard.
If she wasn't allowed to help her students she would close the breach and then help, no matter what the headmaster said.
In the air, Glenn's sword cut through a cero, the silver beam exploding in two as Thanatos appeared in front of the knight, his left foot connecting to his armoured chest. Grunting slightly, Glenn flipping through the air, the boosters attached to his shins coming to life as she shot back towards the horned demon.
"DIVINE DELETE!" the knight roared, cleaving his blade through the air as an arc of pure gold energy surged towards the demon. Thanatos vanished in response, appearing above the knight as his own flaming Katana swung down on Glenn.
Only to be met with Glenn's own sword, the two pushing against each other as the skull like face leaned in to be inches apart from the knight helm. "Come on kingy, you can do so much more, why not let loose" Thanatos cackled as he was pushed back by Glenn's enhanced strength.
"I'll give you more than that!" Glenn roared, his canon arm coming forward as three energy bullets exploded towards the white demon. Thanatos answered in turn, vanishing in three booms of static, appearing beside each bullet as he cut through them with his flaming blade.
Before Thanatos could react, Glenn came charging through the large dust cloud, his plated shoulder crashing into the demons jewels chest. Flying into the air, Thanatos gripping the knights raised shoulder, his spiked knee smashing into his chest as Glenn gasped in surprise.
Pushing Glenn away, Thanatos swept his blade through the air, a wave of dark blue flames heading towards the dazed knight as he disappeared in the oncoming fire. "DIVIDE!" a voice bellow as the wave was cut in two, Glenn's canon arm was raised as half of the flames swirled around the white metal.
"DIVINE REFLECTION!" the voice bellowed as a flaming bullet shot towards the annoyed demon. Thinking fast, Thanatos fired a weak cero, both attacks exploding off each other as he vanished in a boom of static.
Appearing to Glenn's left, Thanatos twisted to his left, his right leg coming around to kick the blondes helmet. Only to be stopped my Glenn's sword arm, the two metal limbs sparking against each other as Glenn glared at the demon.
Grinning viciously, Glenn poured magic into his blade twisting the sword towards Thanatos as the demon's none existent eyes widened.
"DIVINE DELETE!" the knight roared, a wave of pure gold exploding against the demon chest, Glenn flying backwards as he came to a stop meters away from the large dust cloud. "Nice try king" Thanatos snarled, appearing behind the knight, Glenn turning as fast as he could to counter the oncoming attack.
Only to be hit with a vicious axe kick, sending him crashing into the courtyard below them. Thanatos cackled, waiting for his king to return, enjoying every second of the fight...it had been centuries since he was able to cut loose, even if this wasn't his body.
Down below, Glenn groaned, coughing up blood that leaked through the edges of his helmets mouth guard. Pushing himself up, the knight noticed the titanic class Grimm being reduced in numbers, his eyes turning to see Thanatos floating high above them.
He couldn't waste time, Thanatos could attack anyone right now.
Preparing to leap back into the air, Glenn paused as a few familiar vices reached his ears. "Glenn!" Yang yelled, leaping towards her armoured boyfriend as the now seven foot tall blonde glanced down at her.
"Get out of here, it's not safe" Glenn said, only to see the rest of his team joined Yang in front of him. "We can help Glenn, we're a team" Ruby spoke staring into the blonde's reptilian eyes. "This is my fight, none of you need to be a part of it" Glenn countered.
"We are already apart of it Glenn, whether we like it or not, so let us assist you" Weiss said, making the knight growl as he knew her words held some truth. But they couldn't face Thanatos, they were just human!
"Don't get hurt" Glenn snarled, leaping into the air before his team could say anything in return. "Well, you heard him, come on, I have an idea" Ruby said, turning to get into position as Blake and Yang followed.
Leaving Weiss confused as to what just happened. "How could that be instructions!" she yelled, huffing to herself as she moved to follow her team.
In the air, Glenn shot after Thanatos, his canon arm firing numerous bullets towards the white horned demon. Thanatos answered in turn, dodging each shot with a burst of static, as the knight grew ever closer.
When they were a few meters apart, Thanatos struck, his flaming blade cleaving through the air as Glenn banked to the left, just avoiding the sword as its flames scorched his right shoulder plate. Twisting to the right, Glenn swung his own blade, the broadsword heading towards the demons chest as Thanatos leaped backwards to avoid the fatal strike.
Growling to himself, Glenn fired another energy bullet from his canon, watching as Thanatos cut through the shot. Without thinking the blonde shot forward, her boosters coming to life as all but appeared in front of the masked demon.
The horned demon turned, his blade coming up as it clashed with the glowing broadsword of the omega knight. Leaping back, Glenn readjusted himself, his bodying leaning forward as he aimed his canon arm towards Thanatos.
The demon grinned as he lunged forward, his clawed hand gripping the end of the barrel, stopping the energy from discharging as Glenn glared at him. "Come on king, you know we to evenly matched, we are at our prime right now!" Thanatos cackled, his arm shaking as Glenn pushed more demonic energy into his canon.
"Do you know what you have done, how many lives you have taken!" Glenn snarled as the energy inside his canon exploded, pushing the two away from each other. "And for what reason, what happened, did everything we go through together mean nothing!" he yelled.
A second later, Thanatos appeared in front of him, his free hand clasping around the knight through as both crashed into the courtyard, reducing it to a crater as the demon glared down at the knight. "Our battles have always been my greatest memories king, but this is different!" Thanatos snarled as the under armour around Glenn's neck started to crack form his grip.
Before he could go furtherer, Glenn's broadsword slipped back into the dragon heads mouth, closing shut just in time to smash into the demons head. "What happened! What changed, we stood together during the war!" Glenn screamed as he climbed to his feet, watching as Thanatos stood across from him.
"Can't you see it king" Thanatos roared, as a cero charged between his horns. "See what!" Glenn roared, his sword slipping back out of the dragon head as he cleaved through the air, cutting the oncoming Cero in two.
"I did all of this for you king" the demon roared, appearing to Glenn's left as their blades clashed again. "How could any of this be for me, you threatened my mates, our mates!" Glenn roared in return, both knight and demon pushing against each other as the crater they were in started to shake from their presence alone.
"Because you would never grow strong enough if I didn't!" Thanatos roared, pushing Glenn back as the knight slip in confusion gave the demon a chance for his bade to cleave through the knights chest plate.
Blood sprayed into the air as the students and teachers stared in horror, the fist years having never seen that much carnage looking away in fear. Glenn growled in pain, the large scare on his chest plate fixing itself as he fell to his knees, blood loos catching up to him as his body burned in agony.
Looking up, his eyes met Thanatos as the demon lowered its blade to his throat. "IF I didn't push you king, you wouldn't be ready for what is to come" he said as Glenn looked at his counterpart in confusion.
What was coming, what in the world would need his dive to defeat, what did Thanatos know that Albion didn't?
"What's coming, what going on?" Glenn asked, slowly climbing to his feet as Thanatos took a few steps back.
"Something no one is prepared for king, you'll need to be strong, stronger than before, you need every advantage for this" Thanatos replied as his free hand slowly retrieved a blue jewel from his tattered jeans.
"Win, and I'll hand you a better chance to keep our mates safe" he finished as Glenn narrowed his eyes at the demon. "I've already won" the knight replied as the demon looked at his host in confusion.
Only for his eyes to widened as a flaming punch smashed into the back of his head, sending him stumbling forward before Glenn's armoured boot cracked into his exposed chest. Flying backwards, Thanatos only just saw Yang standing back up before a black blur appeared above him.
Blake didn't waste any time as her two blades swung down on the horned demon, sending him crashing into the edge of the crater as numerous ice spiked erupted from the ground. Trying to dodge, Thanatos was unprepared for two sniper bullets to crack the side of his skull breaking one of his horns as more spider like cracked formed across his pale skin and armour.
His body hit the ice with a resounding crack, Weiss ripping his rapier out of the ground as she joined the others standing over the settling dust cloud, Glenn's canon arm aimed directly at Thanatos as the pale version of Glenn could be seen from under the crumbling demonic armour.
"Hehe, nice one" Thanatos chuckled blood leaking from his lips as Glenn titled his head slightly, energy cackling across his canon. "This won't be the last time king, I have too much to do" Thanatos said, vanishing in a boom of static before his host could fire.
Appearing in front of the blonde Thanatos grinned as he slammed the blue jewel in his left hand into the blondes chest, the two jewels cackling as Glenn fell to his knees, holding back a scream as the energy from the jewel coursed through him, his control over his dive shattering as his armour cracked.
"Get away form him!" Yang yelled, moving in to punch Thanatos, only for her eyes to widen as she stopped dead. Team RWBY's eyes widened as Yang coughed up blood, the tip of Thanatos's flaming blade sticking out of her back as Glenn roared, rage coursing through him as his right hand connected to the demon face.
"Get the medics now!" Glynda roared as she had just finished closing the breach in the ground, Peter and Oobleck moving to assist as Blake held Glenn, stopping him from hitting the ground. "Yang, oh god Yang" Ruby cried, holding her sister as Weiss tried to stem the blood flow, the flaming blade disappearing as her blood hit the ground.
"N-no, no, no, Yang no" Glenn muttered, looking at the blonde as she seemingly fell limp in Ruby's arms. "Please, no, please don't die" he begged, pushing away from Blake as he stumbled over to his fellow blonde.
"Get them into stretcher now!" a voice roared as Glenn felt his vision fading, his body giving out as Yang was pulled away from him. Before he black out, he could only see Bakes worried face as she looked between both her blonde team mates.
"Thanatos you fool, we don't even know if he will survive becoming a devil again" Albion's voice growled as Glenn fell unconscious. "It needs to be done" Thanatos replied as Glenn felt a burning pain erupting form his chest before he felt nothing.
