CHAPTER 78

Keigo was standing at Gen's and Mitsu's bedroom door, clicking away at what ever he had found inside it. Slowly the other teens went and stood by him. Even Yuuta had followed due to curiosity getting the better of him.

In the room was Mitsu laying on his stomach with one of his arms up so his head was resting on it. He had his free hand on one of Ryoma's cheeks. As if he had been staring at the boy before he fell asleep. While Ryoma's top half was out from under the bed. He was on his back with both arms above his head and was facing Kunimitsu. Ryoma's stomach and chest were slightly exposed showing the bottom half of the scar on the boy's stomach. Their face's weren't that far apart, but what truly got the eighteen years olds shocked was that Mitsu was smiling. Not just a smirk, but a proper happy kind of smile.

That wasn't what got Yuuta's attention though. It was the twitching of something on Ryoma head. "Umm... What is that on top of his head?" He pointed to the said things. Syu looked to his brother then to what he was pointing at.

"Oh, they're Ryo-Chan's ears." Yuuta's eyes widen. In the St. Rudolph students mind he could only think that they were in the wrong place. Syu wincing when he remembered that his brother didn't know. He stood behind him and leaned down wrapping his arms around Yuuta's shoulders. "If it helps he has a tail as well." He whispered. Sei turned when he heard Syu talking about Ryoma's tail and saw Yuuta with his jaw open in shock.

The blunette bent down in front of the second year putting his hand on his chin and pushing it upwards to close his mouth. "There. You won't catch flies now."

"Thanks." Yuuta mumbled and Sei smiled. Keigo finally getting all the pictures he needed went in to wake them up. He placed the camera on Gen's bed and kneeled down next to Ryoma. Syu and Sei dragged Yuuta downstairs, while Gen watched from the door.

Kei leaned down to the boy's ears and whispered. "Syu and Sei have eaten your dinner." Ryoma sat up and banged his head against Keigo's.

"No!" He yelled and shot down stairs. The monkey king was on the floor holding his head groaning in pain.

"Damn brat's head is like a rock." Mitsu opened his eyes slowly after being woken up by Ryoma's shouting. Looking over to see Gen making his way to Kei's side to see if he was alright. The smile completely gone and replaced with his ever blank expression.

Ryoma had rushed into the kitchen full panic mode and looked at the sadists. "Food, where?" Sei leaned on the table and put a hand to his forehead in thought before pointing to the direction where Tomo was still serving up. "Stupid monkey." He muttered as he sat next to the blunette.

Ryoma looked at Sei for a second before turning to look at the table trying to hide his blush. It had finally registered properly in his brain that he has had his first real intimate kiss, after all Inui didn't count since he didn't reply by kissing back or use tongue. 'Does that mean the next step is the clothes ripping?' He though and took a peak at the one sitting next to him. "I can't do that!" He shouted. All occupants in the room glanced at the boy.

"Do what Ryo-Chan?" Syu asked.

"Umm... Nothing." He went back to facing the table.

Everyone was eventually downstairs and eating silently. Yuuta was picking at his food since he was too distracted by the cat ears on top of Ryoma's head. He was brought out of daze when he heard Tomo speak.

"Yuuta you don't have to eat it if you don't want to." He looked over to the butler with surprise written all over his face.

"Huh," It took a second for Tomo's words to make sense in his brain. "Oh, no this is good. Sorry, I'm kind of distracted." His eyes went back to Ryoma. "I was just wondering if those were real?" The butler saw what his eyes kept looking back to and smiled at the second year.

"Maybe you should ask. I'm sure he won't mind telling you. You are family." The cat had a feeling it was directed at him and looked to Syu's younger brother. "Right Ryoma?" The boy nodded. Yuuta licked his lips as he thought over what to say.

"Were you born with them?" Ryoma frowned not understanding what he meant. Until Yuuta pointed at his own head. Though reflex Ryoma put his hands up onto his head and pushed his ears down, trying his best to cover them.

"No, they grew." 'They grew...' Yuuta thought in disbelief. "My whole insides kind of change by itself. Master gave me this weird food that destroyed some of my DNA or something like that. Then when I turned four I got these injections filled with another type of DNA. Some of my organs couldn't cope and edited themselves. My ears kept bleeding at one time and slowly they started to change. It took about a year before they were like this...At least I think that's how it worked. I don't really remember that well. Still blurry."

Ryoma looked over to Tomo to see him smiling at him. The cat felt his chest swell with pride. He knew he did good just by that look alone.

In England it was 10 o'clock in the morning. Shan found himself walking down a hallway of a mental institution. He had someone he needed to visit. He didn't like this man. In fact he hated this man with all his being. The doctors had told him that he wasn't allowed to enter the room of this said person since they don't know what he was capable of.

Getting closer and closer to the room he felt a cold chill run down his spine. He stopped at a door that had the number 62 and a name tag on it. Opening the small hatch so he could look inside, it made him cringe. He knew if he wanted answers he would have to be some what nice even if he felt utterly disgusted by the though.

"Hello master." He spoke in a calm tone trying to hide the hate. "How have you been?" The man in the room was sitting in the far corner. In a straight jacket and his left eye had been covered by bandages. He had storm grey eye and short blue hair. The man lifted his head towards the door and let off a small laugh.

"Shan, what a pleasant surprise. You should visit more often. It gets lonely here." The man used his feet to push himself against the wall to help his stand up. "So what do you need from me? You haven't come to see me since, well... you put me in here. I'm so bored." He made his way over with small steps. "I haven't been outside in 9 months." He leaned his head against the door and looked Shan in the face though the hatch.

"I want to know where the others are?" Shan spoke with a stern tone hoping to make his point, that he was being serious.

"I told you before the children are dead. My beauty killed them." The policeman clenched his teeth. This man always knew how to get under his skin.

"I meant the other whack jobs like you." The master glared. He hated to be called mad. In his opinion he was just making something beautiful. What was so wrong with making the world a better place.

"I don't know. I got rid of all of them when I saw one of those things trying to taint my little boy. My baby was scarred for life because that psychopath." You could hear the disapproving tone in his voice along with a small snarl. The man in the straight jacket sighed. "Can I see him? I want my beauty. He's mine after all."

"I told you before, he's dead." Shan watched as the master walked away from the door before bursting out into laugher. "What's so funny?"

"If he was dead I would know. Me and him are too close. We've been though so much together." The man charged to the door and smashed into it. "I want my Beauty. Give me Beauty. It's all your fault he nearly died of starvation!" He shouted. He had spit flying from his mouth. It didn't even take a second for a doctor to be there telling Shan to leave. He did as he was told and left knowing he would have to come back another day. He was really hoping he wouldn't have to visit again, but it seems nothing ever goes according to plan.

Walking down the hallway to the exist he could only feel guilt coursing though his body. He told Ryoma he didn't know who his master was and that he was dead. But to Shan he didn't really lie. That man in the room was someone he no longer knew. He was now a stranger and to Shan he was dead. He was dead to him long before this ever happen. It was his, Kunikazu's, Gen'emon's, the Atobe's and Tomo's secret. After all, how could they ever explain that in that room was Ryoma's master, Shan's brother and most of all Seiichi's father, Senichi Yukimura.
