CHAPTER 83
Tomoko had realize that her friend hadn't come back and told Ryoma that she was going to look for her. Ryoma watch as the other left as well. He closed his eyes and listened. He could hear people not too far away. Narrowing his eyes at what they were saying he stood causing Keigo to look at him.
"Brat, where are you going?" Ryoma smirked and grabbed his tennis racket from the side. The Hyotei captain got the silent message and pocketed his phone. He stood up with the kid. "Lead the way."
They looked to the fence and watched Sakuno still trying to find her ball while the tennis team mocked her. Ryoma noticing there was a hole in the fence grabbed a ball from his pocket and threw it in the air. Positioning himself he smacked down on it. The ball flew through the hole and hit one of them in the face.
"Hey! Who the hell did that?" He turned to only see his teammates staring in shock at the boy in a hoodie on the other side of the fence. "How did he do that? He's so far away."
"Can I have my ball back? Oh, and hers as well would be helpful." Ryoma asked innocently like he had not just used it to hit someone in the face with.
Ginka tennis team all looked as the boy and someone else came though the gate onto their tennis courts. "I'm sorry, but there are over 300 tennis balls here. I don't think we'll be able to find them." Ryoma narrowed his eyes. He knew exactly were the two ball were. They both had certain smells since they weren't part of this tennis club.
"What about if I beat all of you in a one match game of tennis each. Then can I have them back?" Hearing that, the whole of the tennis team laughed. The one that started all this looked to Ryoma.
"Sure. In fact if you can defeat all of us you can have all the tennis balls here." Ryoma looked at them in complete happiness.
"Really? I only wanted our two back, but if you're saying that then I want 300." Keigo sighed. He couldn't believe the cat was going to do this.
"Brat, if you want 300 I'll buy you that many." Ryoma smirked and pointed at the balls on the floor.
"But I want those ones." The Hyotei student could only shake his head in disbelief. "Besides, I don't plan on losing." With that the matches started. He was on his 7th match and none of the Ginka students could believe their eyes. Where their players were slowly running out of energy, Ryoma was not even breathing hard as he called for his next opponent. It ended in less than an hour.
All the while Akutsu was looking out of the club room window. He wasn't pleased. He watched as Ryoma defeated his opponents one by one. He wanted to be the one to cause trouble for Ginka tennis club. He stared at the boy noticing that something wasn't quiet right with the kid. Thinking it over he knew Seigaku had a freshmen in their team and that the boy was probably the said freshmen.
Ryoma had just smiled as Keigo walked up to him. "I have to hand it to you brat. How the hell you're not tired is beyond me." Hearing the loud cheering coming from Tomoko, the captain of Hyotei turned round in annoyance. "Will you shut up. I'm sure the brat doesn't need to hear that awful squealing." With that they started their next argument. Ryoma was watching the two fight when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning round he was met with Sakuno.
"Umm... Ryoma-Kun. Tha... Thank you." The cat just stared. Not reacting. She blushed wondering if he wanted something. She was about to speak again when someone interrupted.
"Ah, Atobe-Sama. I came to collect you." Keigo smiled. Finally happy that this torture had ended.
"Taka, could you please help us load these tennis balls into the car?" With him agreeing the three guys collected the balls into baskets and carried them to the limo. Sakuno and Tomoko followed feeling slightly at a lost of what to do. They both stopped dead in their tracks when they saw the so called car.
"Wait!" Tomoko shouted. "How can you have something like that?" She demanded. Hearing a scoff from Keigo he answered.
"Ore-Sama's family owns the Atobe corporation and all the side business along with it." He folded his arms and look at the girls. He decided he has had enough for one day. "Do you want a lift to Seigaku? I need to go there anyway." He asked even if he didn't really want to. He had been raised on manners and was not going to ruin it just because of these fan girls that were after his tiger. Especially if the butler had found out that he hadn't offered. The man would never let him live it down. He would most likely go on and on about it everyday for the rest of his life. Saying that the so called gentleman he thought he raised was now abandoning girls on the side of the road without even offering a lift.
They agreed to his offer much to his dismay and they all sat in the limo. The two girls looking round the space in amazement, while Ryoma had chosen to sit as close to him as possible practically sitting on his laps. The ride was quiet.
When they arrived at Seigaku the two girls and Keigo got out. As he was about to tell the driver that he'll just walk back home and if he could drop the tennis balls back at the house from here. He then realized that a certain cat hadn't gotten out. Telling to driver to hold on for a minute he opened the back door and looked to Ryoma.
"Out. Now." He pointed to the school. "Don't be a brat and do as you're told." Ryoma stayed in the car as if daring Keigo to try and drag him out. He watch knowing that the boy wasn't going to move anytime soon. He closed the car and asked the drive to wait 5 minutes. Taking a quick sweep of the school ground he eventually found what he was looking for. Smiling he put his money in the machine. Walking back he opened the door and looked at the cat. "So this won't convince you?" He held the can of ponta.
Keigo watch as one of the boy's eyes started to twitch and he knew whatever fight the boy was willing to get into if his beloved drink was involved it was all pointless. The cat crawled on the chairs towards him. Ryoma's tongue ran across his bottom lip. Now that he thought about it, he was rather thirsty. "Fine, you win." The cat mumbled as he got out of the car and was handed his reward.
Keigo making sure that Ryoma wouldn't sneak back into the limo told the driver he could leave and apologized to him for causing trouble. As the man drove away towards the temple to drop the tennis balls off he couldn't help but smile. He wondered if Keigo would ever find out that the reason Tomo knew everything about him was because he was the one that provided all the juice car gossip. He was just lucky that he could always hear all the conversations the young Atobe had from the drivers seat.
Keigo and Ryoma walked hand in hand to the courts. He knew the boy wouldn't be distracted for much longer and he didn't even want to think what could happen if Ryoma starts to behave strangely in front of Mitsu. "Please brat. When you see him act like you don't know anything. Pretend I never told you that he loves you. Okay?" His eyes met Ryoma's for a second before the cat agreed.
When they got to the courts Syu seemed to be the first to of spotted them. He abandoned what he was doing in favour of seeing what this was about. Sei had texted him earlier say Keigo had done something which could either be a blessing or hell depending on how Ryoma took it. So now he was determined to find out what Kei had done.
The Hyotei student looked at Syu and knew what the other wanted. So he told Ryoma to go and join the others while he grabbed the tensai's hand dragged him somewhere else so they could discuss this without anyone else hearing.
Mitsu seeing Syu and Kei walking away from the courts decided to just leave them. For now he was more concerned about a cat who looked lost and was for some reason acting very nervous. So he walked his way over to Ryoma.
