I was pissed.
Absolutely livid for the last three school days as I stewed over what happened in the dungeons.
I couldn't even look at a roast chicken the same anymore after being pecked in...unnecessary places.
But the new jittery attitude Cesari had on display was well worth everything for the time being.
I would watch as one of her followers would try to get her attention an she would nearly hop right out of her skin, or as she would pack up early in class just to trip out the door way and lose her belongings once more.
Her nervous eyes always flickered my way, and I always glared back- for my own amusement that is.
I was a bit civil, I think. Every time her nerves would get too bad, I would chuck a crumpled piece of parchment her way.
To sike her out, I scribbled the same thing on every note- 8:00 and personally enjoyed her reactions as she would be no where to be seen at either morning nor evening.
I think this is the best revenge so far.
I knew I had her right where I wanted her this afternoon when Professor Burbage made us pair up in class to finish our work sheets on married life.
Her horrified expression made me smirk.
She pulled the lone stool to the side of the table, keeping the farthest possible distance from me.
I quietly chuckled to myself and kicked her foot under the table.
Her body jumped as she frowned at me, kicking me back.
I smirked. "Well, hello babe."
Her face scrunched and my smirk widened.
"Be ready by half nine tomorrow. I'm meeting you in the great hall." I said, answering the basic questions on the sheet labeled 'Husband'
I was finishing up scribbling down my favorite color when she finally grumbled, "No, you won't."
My eyes snapped to her, "I didn't ask. If you aren't in the great hall by time I get there, I will find you and I will drag you out kicking and screaming."
I watched those beautiful mahogany eyes roll in frustration, "You're mental."
"Be compliant and we won't have an issue, love." I smirked back.
A pain shot up my leg and I cursed when I realized she kicked me again, muttering under her breath. "Prick."
The bell sounded and I watch her shove her things into her bag.
"Cesari?" Professor Burbage called, "Can I speak with you for a moment?"
She nodded for her snakes to head out as she stepped over to the professors desk, nodding every so often at whatever she was saying.
Slinging my sack of books over my shoulder, I gave her some privacy as I leaned against the wall outside of the classroom.
I huffed in frustration after what felt like ten minutes.
Burbage quietly exited the room and gave me a small smile, I smirked back.
Cesari all alone?
This could be good.
I quickly shot into the room and saw Cesari shoving a stack of parchment into her bag.
"Well, well," I said, crossing my arms over my chest, leaning against the door frame. "Little ."
Her eyes were as wide as saucers when she noticed it was only the two of us.
I slowly moved, closing the door behind me, smirking at her the whole time as I made my way to her.
"W-what do you want, Wood." She stammered, inching back with her bag protectively held to her chest.
I rolled my eyes, "If I wanted to hurt you, I would."
Her features slipped into a harsh glare, "You wouldn't dare!" She challenged.
Cesari tossed her bag on a desk and shoved her hand into her robes, ready to draw her wand.
Seeing a window of opportunity, I reached out to touch her arm, only to be receiving a slap across the face in return.
I growled, completely outraged.
The sting in my cheek made me slam her against the wall pinning her arms above her head.
"What did I say about slapping me?" I whispered in her ear venomously.
She stomped on one of my feet, but I held firmly onto her. "I don't give a bloody damn what you say!"
Pulling my head back, I looked her dead in the eye. "You're mine and it's about time you realized that."
I watched the flicker of so many emotions fill her eyes but one in particular stood out; anger.
Her jaw clenched a few times and I knew she was ready to burst with the deep shade of red her cheeks flushed.
She opened her mouth to probably tell me off but I simply cut her off with my lips but quick as a flash she bit my bottom lip...hard.
One of my arms released and instinctively touched my lip.
No blood, thank god.
"What did I say about kissing me, you insufferable, good for noth-" This time it was my hand that covered her mouth.
"You will be ready by half nine tomorrow, and you will be going to Hogsmeade with me, and you will tell Diggory to fuck off or- ow!"
She bit my hand!
And stomped on my sore foot!
And elbowed me!
She slithered two desks away, thinking she was safe but I quickly recovered.
"I absolutely hate you Oliver Wood!" Cesari shouted, ducking her head under she bag's strap.
I merely rolled my eyes. "No you don't."
She went to move away from the desks and I copied her motions until we were at the door.
"What's wrong with you?" I shouted in his face.
No! I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of irritating me!
That's exactly what he wants so he can amuse himself at my expense!
"You're what's wrong with me!" He said.
His chocolate orbs filled with pride like it was the best retort ever thought of..
"Leave me alone!" I pushed his chest, trying to move his wall like body.
"Make me," his arms spread out, forming a blockage in the thin door way.
The corner of his lips lifter higher, widening his smirk as I grew more enraged by the second.
"Ugh!" I groaned, trying to squeeze under his arm, only for him to poke his hip to the side.
"Ah, ah!" He tutted through his smirk. "What do we say?"
"Kiss my arse, Wood!" I hissed, "Move!"
I tried ramming him with my shoulder, but I only caused myself some pain and moved him about a few centimeters back.
"Say you're sorry for leaving me with those bloody chickens!" He ordered, stomping his left foot on the ground as he came forward the inch I took him back. "And for hurting me a few seconds ago!"
My face twisted, "I'm not saying sorry, Wood! I would never say sorry to you in a million years!"
I backed away and crossed my arms defiantly.
Oliver's expression hardened as he said sarcastically, "Well babe, we might be a while."
Glaring at his towering frame, I snatched my wand from my robes and held it toward his throat.
"Move or I will hex you." I sneered.
He chuckled darkly then whispered, "I dare you."
One of my brows arched.
I lowered my wand a bit to point at a stray book left on a desk and he smirked right before I roared, "Oppungo!"
The book turned into a beast and attacked Oliver full force in the face.
I giggled as I ran out of the room and down the corridor to the dungeons listening to his shouts and swears of killing me.
That boy sure got a set of lungs on him.
Do you ever just ask yourself how you managed to be so unattractive?
This is my life right now. I asked for help with make up from my roomies because I almost had a mental breakdown when I looked into the mirror this morning.
Honestly, how does Cedric like me? I look like a bloody wet koala bear!
"Jess, you have to act calm, cool, and collected around cream eyeliner. It can sense your fear and won't hesistate to ruin to your life with just one stroke!"
"NO! Get it away from me!" My arms were spread out and my left leg was propped up as I held the wall, attempting to climb my way away from the crap that Kara was shaking back and forth in her hand.
Daphne was giggling away behind an issue of Witch Weekly.
"NO!" I shrieked, diving between her legs only to make her land with her bum pinning my shoulders down.
"Damn it, Cesari! Put the bloody eyeliner on!"
"No!" I squeezed my eyes shut, not allowing a chance for it to touch my eyes.
"Please?" She cooed.
"No. I never used that stuff before and I never will!"
I was an eye pencil, sort of gal.
Kara huffed. "Fine, I guess I'll just have to bind you."
My eyes widened. "No! Okay, okay!"
Needless to say, a half hour later and a whole ton of wiping away smudged liner from my excessive blinking, I was ready.
Dressed in a pair of green trousers with rolled up ankles, a crisp white 3/4 sleeve top paired with a brown belt and some white trainers, I was good to go as I tossed some money and individually wrapped sweets in my shoulder bag for quick snacking.
A sarcastic 'hmm' sound emanated from Daphne's throat. I raised a brow.
"You know, Jess." She applied a bit of her light pink lip stick, "Anything Oliver Wood wants, he gets."
"What the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?" I folded my arms over my chest, tapping my right foot.
She merely laughed and shooed me out of the room and down to breakfast.
On the walk I couldn't help but get the feeling of guilt creeping into my gut for blowing off Oliver.
Deciding to shove those thoughts out the window, I smiled the moment I stepped into the great hall and caught Cedric's eye.
"My love, how are you?" Cedric smiled, pushing one his buddies to the side so I could sit.
"I'm okay." I grinned back. "What do you wanna do today?"
He shrugged, "Let's just eat and enjoy each other?"
I smiled, piling anything within an arm's length on his plate. "Of coarse."
"You know," Cedric bit into a muffin. "You have a habit of eating off other's plates."
I smirked at the comment, but frowned at a bit of ham falling into my lap.
Picking it up, I pushed it between my lips once again. "Mind if we head down a bit early?"
I shook my head. If Cedric still doesn't mind being around me with my unlady-like tendencies then I think he's a keeper.
Keeper.
Oliver's a keepe- Who gives a bloody fuck about Oliver?
You do.
I felt Cedric place a hand on my knee and I gave him a small smile.
This could work.
The only way to get over one thing is to replace it with another.
You shouldn't do- Oh, shut your trap inner subconscious!
I smirked into my meal.
Why am I such a genius?
More like idiot.
A knock at my door stopped me mid-spritz as I aimed to apply my cologne.
"It's open." I said. Focusing back on freshening up for my date.
My date.
WITH Jessica Cesari.
DATE.
Who'd ever think anyone would see the day, I was trying to impress a girl.
"No it's not, it's closed!" I heard Fred's voice. I grunted, walking over and quickly twisting the knob enough so he could push the door his bloody damn self.
"Guess who we just spotted leaving for Hogsmeade," His twin frowned, following in behind him.
I raised a brow as I looped my belt through my denim trousers.
"Cesari and Cedric." Fred smirked.
"How ever are you going to catch up to them?" George said in a sickeningly sweet voice with a hand placed over his heart.
I snatched my wallet and shoved it into my pocket.
My nostrils were flared as I pushed through the twins and anyone else who got in my way as I made my way down to the village.
She must not understand; she. Is. Mine.
Cedric and I were strolling down the road, window shopping as new curious onlookers watched me in awe.
His arm was wrapped around my shoulders, one of my hands was interlaced with the one on my shoulder and my other arm was around his waist.
"I like this, you know. Me and you." He said, placing a kiss on my temple and making me feel slight flutters around my belly.
"Me too." I admitted with a shy smile.
"I heard you have a detention tonight?" Cedric's gripped pulled tighter when we both spotted Oliver Wood stalking toward us on the trail.
My heart sped up and I internally cringed.
Why?
Why, God?
Why do you do this to me?
I was a terrible person in a past life, I bet.
"Jessica Cesari!" Oliver snarled, cracking his knuckles as he quickly approached.
I rolled my eyes.
He doesn't care about me.
I don't know why he even wanted this stinkin' date in the first place.
You don't know what you're talking about you blithering idiot.
As much as the kind and noble part of me wanted to believe the voice in the back of my mind, I just wasn't in the kind and noble mood..
The lack of evidence that was not so stacked up against him was overwhelming.
There was nothing.
The last words he spoke to me as my friend were; 'I have a girlfriend.'
Well, where's that girlfriend now?
Before I could even control what I was doing, I released Cedric's hand and pulled his face down to meet mine.
I softly kissed his cheek and I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel anything.
But most of all, regret outweighed the desire.
The moment I pulled away, Oliver was standing still- mouth slightly ajar.
His mouth retracted slowly as he composed himself and still carried on toward us.
"We need to talk." He grunted, roughly gripping my upper arm, ready to drag me away.
"No-" Cedric cut in, ripping me from Oliver's hold. "My girl doesn't have to talk to anybody."
His girl? When did that happen?
A low whistle blew through my lips when I realized the crowd that followed.
"She's mine." Wood barked, shoving Cedric back against the door of the book shop.
I raised a brow.
This year is absolute shit.
I can't play real quidditch until the holidays, I find out i'm going to school with the only guy that I've ever loved- who by the way turned out to be an absolute slut- then, I find out that I'm adopted and now I'm being claimed like I'm some type of object?
No.
My head throbbed as the two bickered, shoving at each others shoulders.
"She doesn't even like you, Wood!"
I sighed, stepping between the two before they started their cave man practices.
"Ced, just give me two minutes to speak to him. Okay?" I offered a small smile as I gingerly touched his hand.
I heard Oliver scoff behind me before gripping my upper arm once more, dragging me to a secluded alley way.
He was anything but gentle when he flung me against the brick wall.
As I went to push myself off, he knocked me back into it, leaving all but an inch between us.
He bent down a bit, placing a hand on either side of my face. "What the fuck was that?"
I groaned, rolling my eyes. "What do you want, Wood?"
"What do I want? What the fuck do I want? You! How dense are you?" He tapped my temple.
I snatched his finger in my hand and twisted until I heard him hiss from pain. "Dont touch me."
"Don't kiss him anymore." He warned, wrapping his sore finger around the palm of my hand. "He may not breathe again if you do."
I gave him a flat look. "You're such a pain in my-" But of coarse, he interrupted me.
"Oh, and next time you try to ruin my morning, I suggest you need not forget that I have eyes everywhere."
My eyebrows raised ever so slightly. "Have you quite finished?"
Wood's lips tilted into a smirk. "Not even close."
His traced his fingers up my arm, over my neck then onto my jaw line. I shrugged him off, ignoring the parts of my skin that he had just set ablaze, then slipped out from under him.
"Well seeing as though I've failed to ruin your day, I really must go. Cedric's waiting to walk me to Honeyduke's."
The muscles in his jaw clenched as he closed his eyes briefly. I smirked.
"He's not walking you anywhere."
My smirk faded. "Excuse you?"
"He." He stressed, using his arm to gesture over to Cedric, "Is not walking you anywhere!" Oliver's face was centimeters from mine.
I huffed. "And who are you? You're not my father! You have no say."
One corner of his lips twisted into a half smile. "Oh, but I do. You're mine."
I scoffed, shoving him with all my might. He stumbled back a bit, an amused grin on his face.
"Stop saying that you whacko!"
Snatching my bag up from the ground, I stormed over to my date, snatched his hand in mine and practically dragged him down the road trying to put as much space as possible between Wood and I.
I'll never be yours, Oliver Wood.
"She thinks she can just waltz down to Hogsmeade with that bloody Hufflepuff? As if I was going to let her go?" I vented with the Weasley's trailing behind me as we walked down the road, peering into every shop in search of my woman.
"Jessie, Jessie, Jessie." They chanted, bouncing their heads about, "that's all you seriously talk about at the moment" Fred concluded. I grunted.
"Fifteen extra laps tomorrow morning." I snapped, finally spotting the two in a deserted cafe.
The door hit the wall after I swung it open, Cesari's eyes landed on me and she let her face fall onto the table, a loud groan released from her body followed by a long, 'why'.
Stomping down to their table, I gripped either side with my hands, my knuckles turning white in frustration.
"You're my date to Hogsmeade, Cesari. Let's go." I seethed, watching her slowly pick up her head.
She sneered up at me, and that's when the damned Hufflepuff decided to open his mouth. "She's obviously not interested, Wood. Back off."
My head snapped to him, "Unless you want to spend the next week in the hospital wing, I suggest you shut your mouth while I'm trying to talk to my wife."
Diggory slid out of the booth and we sized each other up.
My 6'1 frame just a few inches shorter than him, but his lanky build was nothing to my burly one.
I could break him.
"I think your mouth is making checks your body can't cash, Wood."
A low 'oooo' came from Cesari's side of the booth, "That's a good one," She said.
My fists balled at the sound of her complimenting another man, so like any real man would, I cocked back and punched the blasted Hufflepuff in his eye.
"What the hell!" Cesari groaned, throwing her head back as Diggory stumbled a bit.
He came back full force tackling me to the ground but he was off just as quick as he was on.
I hopped up and tried running at him but some type of barrier was keeping us from each other.
"I'll break your neck, Hufflepuff!" I shouted, eyeing Cesari who had her wand drawn and held between us, no doubt holding a barrier in place.
"I'd like to see you try, Gryffindor!" Diggory taunted back.
Cesari chomped down the last of her sandwich and sighed, looking between us. "Are we done, now?"
"Are you going to tell him to piss off?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Me, piss off?" Diggory scoffed, "You're the one harassing my girlfriend!"
With one last huff, Cesari placed her wand back in her pocket after tossing a couple galleons on the table.
"Kill each other. Knock yourselves out. Whatever." With that she let her tiny feet lead her out of the cafe.
The moment I turned back, a fist collided with my nose and all hell broke loose.
I huffed down the trail in Hogsmeade in a completely agitated mood.
Two bloody cave men, they are!
I wondered what all of my guys were up to, but quickly got my answer for one when a familiar smirk clouded my vision.
"What a truly disastrous turn of events," Cassius smirked, folding his arms over his chest as I stopped in front of him.
I rolled my eyes, choosing to ignore his taunts about Cedric and Oliver.
Moving to go around him, he caught my arm. "They aren't good for you, princess."
I shrugged him off and kept on to Hogwarts.
Maybe there I could have some peace.
Welllllll, this was nothing special really..lol
