Chapter 14: Frozen Together
She woke up and saw the bright sun beaming down on her. She blinked a few times to adjust her eyes. She tried to get up but she couldn't move her left side. She realized her hair was frozen to her face. Jack's arm was around her neck. She looked up and it registered what happened. The cave melted and the water froze them together. She used her free hand to shake Jack awake." Jack, we have a small problem."
He opened his eyes. "Wha...what's wrong." He said sleepily.
"Well it could be a problem depending on how you look at it. We're frozen together." She said. He laughed. She looked at him confused. "What?"
"That's so sweet. Frozen. Together. Very creative." He looked at her and she had a deathly serious face. She pointed to his right side and made a feeble attempt to move. "Ohh. You were serious. I guess we... wait for it to melt?"
She gave him credit for trying, but it was roughly ten degrees out here. Even with the sun, it wasn't going to melt soon." I don't think so. The blizzard's letting up. Maybe if we go back Holly can help. If we can even walk that is."
"No harm trying." He stood up hearing some cracks as he got up pulling her with him. All the ice around their legs seemed to break easily, but as fate would have it the ice connecting them didn't and wouldn't break. Standing was interesting. The way they were frozen Elsa's feet were a few feet away from reaching the ground. Jack could stand fine.
"Looks like walking is out of the question." She said defeated.
"And why's that?"
"Jack, if you haven't noticed my feet can't touch the floor." She said seriously thinking Jack was nuts. Unless in the next few seconds she learned to fly, this was hopeless.
He smiled, "Not a problem." He used his free hand to lift her legs. "See no problem."
She jumped a little being swept off her feet. She admitted this would work, but he'd have to carry her again for who knows how far. "You shouldn't have to carry me. It could be miles away."
A thought came to him. This was just another excuse to be as near to her as possible. Which he would take. "I will gladly carry you however long it is."
"No." She paused and Jack had the stupidest smile on his face. " Ok, what's up with that little smile?"
A smile went to a extremely noticeable blush. "Well I thought..This was a great time...to be close to you."
Now she really wanted to move. She wanted to tackle him to the ground and do something very unladylike, and by god she would as soon as this infernal ice melted. "You sure know how to make a girl feel special, Jack. But even if you enjoy it, you shouldn't have to carry me."
He looked in her eyes and said," Elsa, you obviously don't understand. I would run through a burning pit of snakes just to be able to look at you. Carrying you is not a problem."
She pulled against the ice hard. Needing to kiss him. She couldn't. "Damn this ice. I can't even kiss you."
He laughed, " We'll have plenty of time for that latter."
She shot down his suggestive remark. "Well that's bold of you. Who's to say you'll even have this opportunity again? This is a limited time offer. So, you better get to it."
"Off we go then." He took one step and sunk up to his knees in snow." Ok, plan B. Hold on." He jumped off the ground and started to fly.
"Jack! You better not drop me." She forgot he could fly. Which would've been useful several days ago. He could've just taken her back home when he found her the first day. He was probably tired and weak though. He probably is now. "Don't push yourself to hard. If you need to stop do it."
In reality he was still tired, but he wouldn't tell her that. He just wanted to be home. Her home. Wherever she was was his home. " I will. Don't worry your pretty little head about it. We're going home." He needed to take her home. Hopefully soon, their home.
Somewhere over the mountains
"Jack do you know where you're going?" She was getting concerned. They had been flying around for a few hours. Flying was much faster than walking and to be flying for two hours she would have had to have been walking for six hours. She doubted she could've wandered that far from home.
"Honestly, no. I got lost carrying you to the cave two days ago." He was exhausted. His face drooped and his eyes fluttered.
She took one look at his face and said," Jack, land. Now." She wasn't going to have him struggling to say awake.
He didn't want to let her down. They needed to get home. He didn't want her out here another second."No. I'm fine. Just a little bit farther and..."
"Jack, please." She used her free hand and put it on his chest. "You need to rest now. We'll be fine another night."
"You know I can't say no to you, but just one more night. In the morning we go home." He lowered them to the ground. He collapsed.
She looked at him with pity and anger. He should've stopped earlier. "Don't worry about shelter. I got it this time." She willed two pieces of ice on either side of them and two more to close it off. She made sure theses wouldn't melt. "Good night Jack."
10,300 my goal has been reached. I have KAR in a few weeks so I hope I can get this done by then. What do you want me to do next? I might do a JELSA. Im not sure
