Chapter 18: Let's play a game

She paled and took a step back bringing both hands up to her chest in a defensive manner. Well that was definitely not what she was expecting. She was thinking maybe a simple question like, what's your shoe size, or when's your birthday? Not have you ever thought about having kids. Of course she hadn't. Being secluded up on a mountain you tend to not think about people especially little people. What had brought that up so suddenly? Was he worried she was pregnant? She ringed her hands together nervous suddenly. "No, I haven't really. Why?"

He couldn't tell her that he pictured there child together with them skating around a room, or that it looked like her, and especially not that she would make a great mother. That would just make her think he was nuts. So he settled with the guardian excuse. "Oh, I was just thinking about the children the big four and I look after. They are all so adorable. I thought you would like one." Smooth, he thought.

He was hiding something. She would make sure to tell him he was a terrible lyre latter. " They are cute. I doubt that I could care for one though. I may not be there often, but I'm still queen. Too many responsibilities. I don't think I could add a child to that especially without support."

He led her over to the bed and they both sat down. "And who said you wouldn't have support?" He regretted it as soon as he said it. Great now she knows I'm thinking of her in that state.

"I would hope that I would. If I don't then I must have made some pretty bad decisions." She laughed halfheartedly. What if she was pregnant? He couldn't exactly stay with her. He had a job too. She would be stuck with a child to raise on her own with occasional visits from the father. Wait, why was she even thinking about this? It only happened a few minutes ago. There's also a chance that it was impossible. Him being a spirit and all. She decided to not let it bother her. "I think I'll go to sleep now." He got up to leave and she said, "You don't have to leave if you don't want to but if you stay, please put on some pants."

Had he really been naked all that time. Well, that was awkward. He pulled on some pants and sat beside her. He didn't know what to do. Should he lay down, should he wait for her, should he hug her? He hadn't done this before.

"Well, good night." She lay down. He followed.

The next morning he woke up to her hair in his face. The light was shining on only her face like it was from heaven. He still wasn't used to waking up next to her. Today's the day. It had to be. He couldn't stand to be without her another day. He needed to plan it out though. He got up without stirring her, and went downstairs to plan with the faeries.

"It needs to be something different. Over the top." Rosie had been going on and on about how he should propose. She was acting like a mad woman. He eyes were bugged out, and she was flying around running into things every once and a while. She had ideas from in the living room with candles to flying around the world with fireworks. She would say one thing then completely contradict herself the next. " How about out in the forest or or or maybe on the castle steps or over in..."

"Do you ever shut up? Some of us have our own ideas." Holly was tired of just sitting there listening to the love expert rattle on. "Why don't you take her somewhere important to both of you? Like where you first met, your first date, or where you first realized you love her."

That wasn't a bad idea although it didn't give much option. He met her in the castle, had there first date in the castle, and he loved her for the first time in the castle. "I'm thinking in the castle, but not just anywhere or anyway. I know exactly what to do. Someone get me something to write with."

Elsa woke and expected to find Jack right next to her, but found nothing besides herself in the room even. It looked like he was never there. She went downstairs to see if he was there, but no one was there at all. It was completely abandoned. Not a sole in the house, or anything to suggest there ever was. There was an unsigned note left on the table. "Don't worry. Be back by dark." That was strange of Holly to leave her here alone for more than a hour. "What am I going to do until dark? Well, I could go skating or gather some food or anything. I can do anything I want." This was the first time in forever that she could actually do whatever she wanted to. She took advantage of it. She ran outside singing and throwing around breezes of snowflakes. She made snowmen and other objects. She did this for several hours until some of the fairies found her. They made these high pitched sounds that only she understood. They convinced her to go home and let them make her a dress. She knew they loved doing this, so she didn't question them. After several hours they had made her a sky blue ball gown, strapless, sweetheart neckline, corset top into a full ruffle skirt, and a snowflake under her right breast. She didn't know why they chose something so extravagant for sitting at home. She went downstairs and sat in the living room. She picked up one of her books and started reading.

"Jack, this is genius, but I don't think we had to leave." Rosie said. They left the castle early in the morning and had stayed in a makeshift house on the opposite side of the mountain. It had one central room with a table and chairs, but that was really it. The walls were solid brown, nothing special. Jack had been busy writing.

"Yes, we did. I wanted to make sure she wouldn't find out, so removing you was the best option. It wasn't that bad staying with me was it?" Jack said with a smirk.

"I've had better days. You should give her the note now. It's almost dark." Holly said.

"Alright. Call them in." He said.

Holly did the same call she had done weeks ago to call in the fairies. A few fairies came in and stood as if awaiting orders. Holly took the note and handed it to the fairies, " Take this to Elsa. Don't tell her where it's from, and make sure there's always one of you here and with her." They left.

Elsa was sitting there reading her book, when a fairy came in and dropped a note onto her book. She picked it up and it said, " Elsa, let's play a game tonight..."

One more. Or maybe two. I don't know. That's not the end of that note either. "Let's play a game." "we're going to have a little fun instead." Do you know the game? You've all played it before.
