This one is slight shorter than the others, but it had to be done though because of the upcoming chapters. And again not happy with the long wait between the updates, sorry! Happy to see that you guys still have faith in me and followed this slow story (I mean really sloooow). Not many chapters left until the e n d….

Ps. Some of the lines/story came from the show (disclaimer: ncis is not mine )

Happy reading (I hope) xoxo

It's been weeks since Jenny and Jethro went for their little trip to Stillwater. A lot has happened. Cases' been solved, politicians making headlines and as for Jenny and Jethro, they've finally finished their section with Dr. Handsome. It has been a lot easier to talk to each other in front of him now. They seemed a lot more comfortable with each other and of course the good doctor decided that they've been doing well. Although there are some things to be sorted out, and both Jenny and Jethro knew that, but in the end of the day they always find a way to each other again.

So many days have gone by with all the shouting in and outside the office, it was both exhausting to watch and hear, especially for the team who has been in the middle of everything. And although Jenny felt fine with the way her and Jethro's relationships are right now, she couldn't help but think about Paris…and to speak the truth, they have successfully avoided that topic for so long now. And frankly it's was also one of the reasons why they haven't jump on each other's throat all these time.

Still thinking about it, Jenny decided to stop, wanting to rest her brain after a long and hectic day at the office. She was all set for bed. She crawled on her four and went down under the covers.

"Anything under that cover?" She heard him say seductively. Jenny turned her head towards the sound of his voice.

"Jethro" She said with sleepy voice. "Thought you said you missed your boat" She exclaimed playfully, still too sleepy to get up and meet him.

He started walking towards the bed and stripping off his clothes, but kept his boxers on and crawled down the covers, cuddling up behind his lover hugging her tightly. "Guess I missed you more" He whispered seductively in her ear. Jenny smiled and turned her head and gave him a quick good night kiss.

"Poor boat" She joked. They both laughed. "You haven't been taking care of that boat for a while now"

"Found someone else to take care of…" He mumbled sleepily.

Tired and sleepy, both fell in sleep rather quickly. Never would they have thought, they would last this long. It's been almost three months now since both of them decided for a second chance. And for this couple, three months felt like forever. Obstacles come and go but love still remains. As both of them was about to fall in to a deep sleep, suddenly noises down the hall woke both of them up.

"What the…!" Gibbs exclaimed tiredly.

Jethro groaned, walked down the hall and opened the front door.

"Emily?"

"Hi uncle Jethro" The little girl said with an apologetic smile, holding a book and a backpack behind her.

"What are you doing here? Where's your parents?" He asked her. Emily Fornell always came to him whenever her she got sick of her parents and this time was one of them.

"I kinda dished my parents…" She said, looking down and rolled her thumb, not wanting to face her father's friend.

"Come on, 's cold outside" He gestured her to move indoors.

"Can I just sleep here for da night? Please" She begged him.

He snorted, unable to resist her he just offered her the room next to his. "Take the guest room"

"Jethro?" Jenny heard noises and walked out of the bedroom with her robe on. "Emily? Everything okay?" She asked concerned.

"Yea I'm fine, just avoiding my parents that's all" Emily answered. "Night guys!"

Closing the door behind her, leaving both adults alone wondering what her parents did this time.

"How long would you guess for Diane and Fornell to notice their daughter's missing?" Jenny snorted.

"Better call him" Jenny smiled and went back to bed shaking her head.

Next morning…

"Jethro?" Jenny shook him, wanted him to wake up already. He groaned. "Jethro?" She tried again. "We're gonna be late for work, come on get up"

He groaned once again and rolled over, covering his body with hers, making her laugh. "Stop it!" He hugged her tightly, she could hardly breathe. "Jethro I need air!"

"I wanna be your air" He chuckled, leaned down and gave her a morning kiss, he deepened the kiss, trailed his fingers down her spine, making her shiver at his touch. He pulled the covers between down and away. Slowly he trailed down his hand up her thighs, pulling her night gown up to her stomach. She moaned his name.

"Jethro, there's a little girl next door" She said between kisses. Not wanting to give up, Jethro just continued his mission. "Gibbs stop it!" She giggled, trying to pull him off with her hands, but he just swats them away.

"'s lame excuse Jen" He mumbled while kissing down her neck and going lower and lower between her breasts.

"It's not an excuse, it's a fact" She moaned out. As Jenny was about to give up and let him take her right away, a knock on the door stopped both of them.

"Damn! So close" Gibbs groaned and got up.

Jenny laughed and sat up, putting her robe on. Jethro slowly opened the door and Emily Fornell stood there, dressed up and ready.

"Morning, breakfast yet?" She asked sweetly.

"We'll be right down Emily" Jenny answered behind Jethro, looking over his shoulders. And with that the little girl hopped down the stairs, waiting for them downstairs.

"Well…that was fun" Jenny laughed, looking over Gibbs with a smile on her face. Jethro just gave her an annoyed look. "Maybe Emily could stay here more often huh" Still laughing and smiling.

"Don't think you're getting away with this Jen" He said defeated.

The Navy Yard…

After calling Fornell and telling him his only daughter was missing, he and Diane immediately drove to the navy yard. Diane wasn't quite happy about the fact that her daughter was playing family with her ex-husband and his mistress. Jenny and Jethro were all ready to face Diane. This time Jenny was hoping she wouldn't have to meet the ex-wife of his; she planned for Jethro to take care of it, as he always did in the past. The fact that she and Jethro was having enough problem as it is, she was not gonna add the ex-wife from hell into the list.

"Emily Fornell!" They heard a strong voice towards the elevator.

"Oh great! Knew you would call them here…" Emily sighed and narrowed her eyes at her uncle Jethro.

"Were the hell have you been!" Her parents asked furiously.

"If you guys would've just taken one look at me you would've known where I was last night" She challenged them back with a proud grin on her face.

"I knew it was a bad idea! The fact that both my ex-husbands are friends and my daughter were playing family with you and your mistress!" Diane accused and pointed directly at Jethro.

"Hey!" Jethro defended.

All three agents were standing behind and having fun watching the show. "Wow it's better than any train wreck in history of Leroy Jethro Gibbs!" Tony said smiling, enjoying himself. Both Ziva and Tim laughed in agreement.

"Diane calm down will ya" Fornell said calmly.

"Oh shut up! You're the reason this even happened in the first place" She again accused her other husband; made Fornell glanced over at Gibbs and saw him grin. He glared at him as a sign for shut up, making Jethro grin even more.

"Can we just go home now?" Finally Emily Fornell broke in between them.

"You young lady are grounded until further notice" Her mother growled and Emily rolled her eyes in annoyance. Diane and Fornell turned to leave, still getting on each other's throats as they walked towards the elevator.

"Predicted" Emily mumbled quietly, earning a glare from both her mother and father. "Thanks uncle Jethro and say hi to Jenny for me" She said, changing the subject rather quickly and gave her uncle a big hug before heading behind her parents and towards all the bickering and arguing.

Jethro sighed in frustration. Glad he wasn't in Fornell's shoes. He turned around, saw his team still grinning and laughing. He stood there and glared at them until they finally notice him and got back to work. "Unbelievable" He mumbled before sitting down for work himself.

Jenny's office…

Jethro closed the door quickly and turn his head just to see Jenny burying herself in paper work. She didn't even notice him come in or even the door loudly closing. Jethro was standing in front of her, looking down at her and waiting for her to notice him. He was just inches away from her, no – she still didn't notice him breathing down her face. He stood there for what felt like minutes, for Leroy Jethro Gibbs, it was more like a life time of waiting.

Jenny has been working non-stop, since this morning. After hers and Jethro's get-away to Stillwater, she has been missing out on a lot that happened in the political world. Cold cases being turned over to other agencies, warrants that needed to be signed and other boring paper works stuff. And to think that one weekend off, she would miss out this much. So for that not to happen again, she was willing to work night and day to get back her normal routine.

Finally Jethro made sounds, loudly. He had enough of this silent game she was playing. He didn't like not being notice by any one. Jenny finally looked up finding her lover glaring at her with his jaw set. "Jethro-how long have you been standing there?" She asked confused.

"If you've been looking up from time to time, you'd notice how long" He remarked smartly earning a stare from her.

"I missed out a lot a couple of weeks ago, need to get back in the game" She said, defending herself.

"Ass-kissing" Jethro mumbled, but enough for her to hear.

Tired by his mood-swings, she changed the subject. "Did you want anything Jethro?"

"Nah" He said smiling and sat down at the chair in front of her desk.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "So you just decided to come and harass me in my office?"

He didn't answer, instead he just smiled and she knew very well what that smile meant. "I'm sure there are cases to be solved" She smiled wickedly.

"Not for the Major cases responds team"

"What about the dead petty officer Landon's case?"

"Closed-since two days ago"

"What?! How?! Why didn't you report this to me?!" She asked him alerted.

"I did!"

Jenny was about to answer him back when she remembered it. He came in her office with two cups of coffee in his hand. It was the day SecNav decided for a vacation for two weeks. It's the reason for the increasing of her paper work lately.

"Told ya…you working to damn hard Jen" He pointed out. And she knew this. For her it was always work and nothing else. She didn't know what to do without it, it was all she had.

"Sorry Jethro, I know it's been a lot these last few weeks, but SecNav will be back in three days and then my work will reduce" She saw the longing look in his eyes. The kind of look that she used to have when she was missing him and when she didn't have him a couple of years ago. "I'll see you tonight?" She sighs tiredly.

"Fair enough" He said sharply and walked away closing the door behind him.

Bullpen…

Down in the bullpen, Jethro's team is still in the process of "working" while their boss isn't around. This is a normal thing for this major cases response team. It has worked for them and they always get along, but sometimes there has to be a few slaps now and then.

"This is incredible–amazing!" Tony muses himself. Ziva and Tim looked up immediately from their desks. They looked at each other confused. But it was Tony after all, nothing about him is normal.

"He's crazy…" McGee exclaimed, looking straight at Ziva, as if Tony didn't hear any of them.

"Did you just figure that out McGee?" Ziva asked sarcastically and Tim snorted.

"I'm serious guys!" Tony continued as if nothing was said about him. "Our fearless boss, the–the supernatural–unhuman Leroy Jethro Gibbs is getting soft!" He said.

"Soft? How exactly has Gibbs gotten soft?" Ziva asked in confusion.

"Haven't you notice?" Tony looked around between his co-workers. "Come on!" He continued for them to guess. "I mean since he and the Director has been doing it, with a capital D! He's gone a little soft–no more headslaps" He snorted proudly. Of course he was the only one laughing and having fun, until he realized his team mates looked down, pretended to work seriously.

"Oh hey boss, I was just discussing that I…." Tony tried to explain himself, but was rudely interrupted by a big slap on the back of his head. He turned around and saw his boss standing inches from his face, glaring at him.

"How about getting back to work DiNozzo" Jethro growled. "You'll be here all week unless that file is on my desk within an hour".

Jethro were having a relaxing time drinking his beer on his couch while Jenny's sitting beside him and reading her book silently. He glanced over to her from time to time. Sometimes he loves the silence between them. No one pushing the other to talk – it was just very comfortable. Suddenly her head fell on his shoulder. He put his bottle of beer down on the table and rested his hand on her head, gave her a kiss above her head and she smiled while still reading her book. Despite reading the book, he could feel her head and brain over floating with thoughts–thoughts that they would have to go through. And he knew it was now or never. He took the chance and went for it.

"Something on your mind Jen" He mutters.

"Nothing…why?" She sidetracked his question.

"I can practically hear you thinking" He commented smartly and stated the obvious with his eyes closed and his head fell backwards and rested on the edge of the couch. "Something you wanna share?"

"I just thought…" She started but only to be interrupted by him.

"Extremely dangerous" He pulled a joke.

She poked him on the chest annoyed. "Want to hear it or not?"

He gestured with his hands for her to continue. She hesitated for a second but decided to go on. Their relationship is very much different now. It was not what it was like before, a couple of years ago when they didn't spoke to each other about anything, other than work related. This time, it was more open and more emotionally involved. They have to trust each other with everything. It's a new time, a new chance to start a new relationship. "It's been on my mind for a while" She looked at him. His eyes locked on hers. "I have to know. What happened to me in Paris – "

"'s over, he's locked in" He interrupted her again.

"It's not about him, it's about the fact that I lost a baby–which is in fact yours too" she said softly and carefully. She has been thinking about this for a while. Thinking about how he would react about this. She wasn't prepared for anything, but simply wanted to share her thoughts.

She stopped talking for a minute only just to look and take in his unreadable expression. It was blank–nothing, no she couldn't read it. She wanted him to say something. The waiting was miserable.

He looked serious, his face away from her, taking a zip from his bottle of beer and hoping to get through this conversation. He played with the bottle for a second before putting it down and fell backwards on the couch once again, but his head still remains straight. He looked over at her; she was eagerly waiting for him to speak up. "What happened…happened" He finally said. That's it; it was all he could say to her. It almost sounded bitter when he said that. It was sharp and bitter, not at all what she expected.

"You don't want to talk about it or…" She spoke up, almost demanding an answer from him, an answer with feelings in it; it's what she hoped for.

"Jesus Christ Jenny" He sighs in frustration. He was tired of this subject, it was in the past and even though there were a few things that weren't clear to him as well, but he was willing to let those things go in order to be able to move on with her. And with her bringing it up once again, the situation and as well as their relationship fell back in time–the time where they still were on the first step. It was time to forget about the past and move forward, he thought. He also knew it was the matter of time before she would ask something like this.

A deep silence fell upon them–an uncomfortable silence was created between spaces. She didn't know how to go from there. Jethro was not exactly the easiest person to talk about feelings with either. "Do you expect me to let it go" She finally asked, breaking the icy cold silence.

"There are things worth letting go Jenny" He said in a disturbing, frustrated whisper. Glancing up he found her a few feet away from him. Her shoulders tensed up and he could see it. What he couldn't see was her expression. He didn't dare to look at that direction. His comments were cold and sharp and he could only imagine the worse for her. It was tempting to follow her up there and grab her shoulders for a hug, but he maintained himself from that thought.

"Is it me?" Her voice trembled, but still stayed strong and sharp. "The fact that it was me you'd got pregnant?" She continued, gave him a glare. There was bitterness in her voice. Her question came in a soft whisper mixed desire. He saw she was starting to shake. He finally brushed of his thought and decided spontaneously moved up towards her and brought her in his arms. He rubbed the back of her head. Even though the emotional talks were the worse, but she still knew that he was there no matter what happens.

"I didn't know about it, you never told me then–it makes it easier for me to forget" He whispered softly in her ear. She understood him. She knew exactly what he was talking about; it was easy for her as well. It was the thought of having a family; a little child with him could've been like–a little child that she would give everything to, the thought of that was what made her question him as well as herself. She didn't cry, she just sighed tiredly–tired of always having the same conversation with him and always getting a fight as results. She was in his arms again, warmth and protectiveness hit her. There is no other place she'd rather be right now. But she often wondered what if–what if she hadn't lost the baby. Yes she and Jethro would have raised their child together, but no guarantee would be that they would still be together. But they are now, and now is what's important to them–now is what matters. Quite a journey they have taken to get where they are now and they intended to keep it this way as long as both of them are still on the same page.

NCIS building 1000 hours…

Another day for solving cases when it comes to the major response team at NCIS Washington DC.

"Find anything?" Gibbs asked his team while looking for answers himself, from his desk.

"Phone records say he called his CEO multiple times boss…and the last call was…" McGee typed on his keyboard eagerly, while the others looking towards his direction. "Two days ago…" He simply replied, frowned his brows.

"That's the day Swinger was killed" Tony said looking at his boss and Gibbs knew what it was. They had their suspect. All at once, they picked their gears and went for the elevator.

U.S Navy Academy…

"Lieutenant McKenzie?" Gibbs announced himself as he walked in the office with his team closely behind him.

The lieutenant looked up, eyed at them confused. "Agent Gibbs?" He greeted. "You have more questions? Thought I'd answered them all, the last time you interrogated me" He commented smartly, earning himself a glare of warning from Jethro.

"Petty Officer Swinger made multiple contacts with you" Jethro started.

"Last time you've spoken to him was two days ago, when he was killed" Ziva continued after.

"Kinda see our dilemma here lieutenant?" Tony pulled a joke. "Casings matched the bullet on your gun and we also found out that you never went on that date, she didn't even existed" Tony chuckled, proud of himself, and happy to get over this damn case–it was quite boring from his point of view.

"I'm not regretting anything" The guilty lieutenant commented as McGee put on the cuffs. This case was closed and finally time to go home and hopefully not getting another case before a good night sleep.

Jethro's house…the next day

It was at night time. As usual Jethro didn't sleep, instead he was downstairs in his basement working on his boat while Jenny had to attend an important foundation, or so she says. Apparently all the most important politicians were going to be there and so it happens that some of them were not overly fond of Director Shepard's special agent. She was ordered by the SecNav, for the safety of their political relationship with their sister agencies; she must leave Leroy Jethro Gibbs behind this time. SecNav knew all about their relationship. Personally he didn't think highly of relations between the personal, but with a couple of arguments and the skills of Jenny Shepard's negotiation, the secretary of the navy was able to agree and 'had' to except their involvement.

It was Gibbs' usual routine for his boat–bourbon, wood, silence… It has been too long since he had some 'quality' time with his boat and tonight was the chance to make it. While working comfortably with his project/hobby, a heavy pair of heels was making sounds down the basement stairs. It wasn't Jenny; he knew how Jenny sounded while walking. He didn't bother glancing up, still stuck on treating his boat. He kept going with it until this person came walking towards him. She was standing beside him, didn't say a word, she just watched him while working. She finally put both her hands on the side of the boat, relaxing a little.

"Still working on this I see" She said smirking.

"S' what I usually do" Jethro replied without looking up, although he already knew who it was and what this person wanted. And he doubted that she'll get what she really wanted but it was going to be fun seeing her try so.

"I'm here regarding Lieutenant McKenzie's case"

"I know…" Jethro replied calmly.

"My client's willing to negotiate" She continued and with that said, Jethro put down his tools, looking at her with his jar of bourbon in his one hand. They stood there next to the boat looking at each other.

"You're welcome to the Navy yard anytime tomorrow, miss Hart" He said smiling wickedly and she returned it.

"Well then special agent Gibbs, I'm looking forward working with you once again" She said and returned to her previous destination. It was definitely going to be an interesting day tomorrow. When it comes to Gibbs and attractive women, everything usually goes wrong.

Outside Gibbs's house, a black Sudan was parked outside of Gibbs driveway. Jenny stepped out of the car and was met by the lawyer. "Miss Hart" Jenny greeted the lawyer with her director mood.

"Director Shepard, nice dress" She returned the gestured and added an obvious, sarcastic compliment.

"What are you doing here?" Jenny asked and brushed off the small talk.

"Here on business" She replied, short and irritating. "You? Here to supervise your special agent" And the sarcasm continued.

"No miss Hart, I'm here to tell special agent Gibbs that he's all clear to come back to the navy yard" Jenny answered her smartly. "SecNav's order" She added and smiled wickedly at her.

"Jethro has the ability to get into trouble a lot" Allison Hart continued to mock.

"You would know that wouldn't you" It was definitely not a question.

"I worked with him before Director" Hart added putting on her suddenly straight but childish expression. I was like a match between little girls with their favorite toys.

"Of course you have" And with that Jenny walked past her and let herself inside the house as if she lived there (technically she does, whenever Jethro asks her to).

Inside of Jethro's house Jenny was walking down the stairs but stopped when she heard Jethro speaking. "Know those heels" He said while had his hands all busy working on the boat.

Jenny looked down at her feet, didn't fully understand what he was talking about but still continued to walk down the steps and towards him. She wasn't even at his destination yet but she felt two strong hands grabbing her waist and hugged her tightly, his hands ravishing her dress on the back. Soon after she felt his hands everywhere on her body, she broke away before it became even more unbearable for both of them to handle. "Missed me?" She let out a laugh. "I think the boat appreciated you having some time off from me Jethro" She continued to mock him. He let go of her and gave her a stare. He stared at her, a stare that she knew very well what it was. "Stop starring a hole on this dress Jethro it's new and I happened to like it as well" He smirked seductively at her.

"Me too" He purrs in her ear. Suddenly Jenny felt her body tensing up and she took a step away from Jethro. Jethro let out a small laugh. "Afraid you can't handle me Director?" He continued to seduce her with his words.

"No agent Gibbs, I'm afraid you can't handle yourself" She smirked right back at him and eventually got the respond she was waiting for. He stepped towards her and planted a passionated kiss on her lips. Hot and steamy kisses were exchanged between them. Jethro then broke a way, breathlessly; finding oxygen before even could make out another word through his mouth. This woman was amazing he thought for himself and smiled down at her.

"We'll see about that" He said and headed back to his boat, smiling and practically glowing with happiness. Jenny couldn't help but join him.

"You gonna work on my boat with those damn heels on?" He growled and she narrowed her eyes at him.

"Then give me your boots" She growled right back at him. He gave her a stare and gave her a pair of boots to put on. "So what was Allison Hart doing here?" She finally asked. "You two been playing grab ass while I was away?" She continued, obviously joking.

Jethro just looked at her, like she was still his probie telling him inappropriate things. "Merely business Jen"

"Really, what about?" Now she was starting to sound like one of his ex-wife, he smirked at the thought of it.

"She's McKenzie's lawyer, negotiating with us tomorrow" He simply replied and looked at her, but she just shrugged.

Jenny kept sanding the boat for him, but Jethro stood there observing her. She felt his sharp and sexy eyes on her body. "What?" She asked looking around.

He stepped closer to her; he was extremely and dangerously close to her. "Wanna head upstairs and do kinky stuff" He purred in her ear.

"Jethro!" Jenny laughed.

Back at the Navy Yard…two days later

"Finally!" Tony exclaimed. "This case was a pain in the ass; I have to say though, miss Hart does know how to negotiate"

"The director wasn't very happy about it"

"Gibbs has not told miss Hart that he is swinging with the Director?" Ziva asked in confusion.

"Nope!" Both Tony and McGee shrugged.

"I kinda felt sorry for the Petty Officer though…" McGee changed the subject quickly. "Lieutenant McKenzie killed him because the Petty Officer killed his own brother?" McGee said. "That's confusing, I still don't get it".

"Why? He killed his brother because he couldn't keep it in his pants" Tony argued.

"I still do not understand what that means" Ziva said, confusing with the American idioms.

"Seriously?" They both said, surprised.

"Anyone wanna hit the bar tonight?" Tony asked his co-workers cheerfully.

And before anything could happen any further, all three of them looked towards the sound of heavy footsteps stepping outside the elevator. Five men in suits were walking straight to them.

"Where's Gibbs at?"

"Agent Fornell?" Ziva looked confused.

"Your twelve o'clock Fornell" Jethro said as he walked towards his friend. "What's going on?"

Fornell looked skeptical at first, unsure what to say or how to say it. Jethro glared at his friend, tired of waiting for him to say something. "Any time today would be nice Tobias"

"It's him Gibbs, he's out"

.aaaaannnndd a cliffhanger!
