Unbreak My Heart

Chapter 18 – epilogue II

Here you go, the last chapter; it's a bit of a time jump though and very very short^^ happy reading!

Five years later…Mars 2017

Five years, it's been five years since the rocky period of Jethro and Jenny's relationship. Problems that crossed they paths, problems that they had overcome, but it took another problem to bring them back together and for them so have gone this far in life. But all that aside, their story had just began, and even though their history started differently than others, it came with a happy ending – or in this case, a happy start of a new life.

A four year old little girl, the daughter Jenny always wanted and longed for – walked and hopped around the living room. Everything was fine, they are happy; they're in a happy place right now.

"Jethro!" He heard Jenny call for him desperately. But his playtime with his daughter was not over yet. He loved to be with her, he wanted to be with her every step and scene of her life. And this time – he actually do come home.

"Jethro! didn't I tell you to put her to bed, it's her nap time…" She sort of snapped at him a bit, but in a motherly and concerned way.

"Just a minute…" He simply said, and kept his eyes and attention on his daughter.

"She'll get cranky tonight" She sighed and picked her daughter up and walked towards the bed that Jethro build for his daughter. Jethro followed her lead, decided that she was right. Alice was going to be cranky at night, especially if she doesn't take her nap now – which always was Jethro's fault. But he loved it; he loved it when she was up playing with him.

"You're mom takes the fun out of it" He whispered to his daughter's ear, Jenny rolled her eyes and punched him lightly on his shoulder.

"Mommy – no nap – pleeeeaassee!" Alice begged her mother and Jethro winked at his daughter, already lying on the bed.

"No – sleep…" She retorted seriously. No way, she was going to be up all night again.

"Mommy mean…" The little girl snorted.

Jenny turned her head towards the father of her child, crossed her arms together and glared at him. "You made me the bad guy in this relationship" Jethro chuckled.

"Mommy?" and both parents turned their attention to their beloved daughter. "go see Kelly soon?" She asked as she was beginning to lose control of her eyes.

Alice knew about Shannon and Kelly. Jethro and Jenny told the story of her sister as an angel every night. They always visit their graves whenever Alice wanted to – or whenever they wanted to, because they're apart of the family.

"We'll go tomorrow" Jenny said softly and bended down to kiss her daughter lightly on the forehead. "Now sleep"

"Maybe gandpa too…" Alice mumbled as she started to fall asleep.

"Love you" Jethro said and kissed her on the cheek.

"Why don't you just put that on Jen" Jethro retorted as they walked down the stairs from their daughter's bedroom and saw her playing with it around her neck.

"Because" She simply answered him as she continued to pick with her fingers.

He just smiled at her. He opened the door and was about to walk but turned to face her. "I asked you…"

"I know that I haven't giving you a straight answer yet…" She smiled at him sweetly and he couldn't help but return it. He had proposed to her just about a year ago, and she was determined to say no. But he kept asking her over and over again, and she finally agreed on accepting the ring from him, but only to hang it around her neck.

"Someday Jen – someday, I'll make you put that ring on your finger" He promised and leaned over and kissed her passionately and slowly closed the door behind him.

NCIS building…

Five years has gone and the team hasn't really changed much. It was always the same old routine.

"This is so good!" Tony mumbled with his mouth full of food.

"Tony that is disgusting!" Ziva argued playfully.

"How you'd know, you haven't even tried it, ever!"

"I mean that gigantic cow in your mouth!" She gestured annoyingly, referring to all the food in his mouth.

"Yea, I'm just gonna stick with my nutter butter" McGee shrugged.

"Probie I'm telling ya – I mean the whole skinny thing suits ya, but you're missing out on the fun parts!" Tony pointed out smugly and gestured with the food in his hand. When McGee didn't react, he turned his attention towards the boss, who was still working and only lunch on his desk was a coffee cup.

"Boss, would you rather want veggies or meat?" Tony asked amusingly.

"Neither" Jethro answered shortly, his attention still on the paper in front of him.

All three agents looked confused. "Well, what'd you want?" Tony asked dangerously curiously.

Jethro looked up dead serious and said: "go home to my daughter"

"Good one boss!" Tony said, still amused with this whole game thing he had going. "So Jenny still haven't giving you an answer huh?" He continued the quiz and was about to take a bite from his burger happily – but looked up and found a glare from Jethro's direction. "I'm sure she'll give in"

"Yea, well – been trying to do that for a year DiNozzo"

"Wow, she's a hard on to break" McGee commented impressed.

"Oh she is…"Ziva cut in on the conversation.

"Well, look at the bright side boss, now you have Allie, so she's kinda stuck with you now huh" Tony smirked. Another glare came from Gibbs. Tony was about to say something again, but Jethro's glare came through like a knife, and he continued with hid lunch. "Bad choice of words…" he mumbled.

NCIS autopsy…

"Hey Duck!" Jethro hollered out as he entered the room. "Busy?"

Without turning around he replied: "Yes, quite busy. But I can always take a break."

"Need a favor" Jethro announced.

"Name it"

"Need a best man…"

"Jennifer said yes?" Ducky asked surprised and glowing.

"Nah! But she won't say no this time" Jethro smiled.

"I'd be honored Jethro" Ducky said as Jethro turned on his heel and headed towards the exit. "What makes this time any different from the others?"

Jethro turned around and smiled at his friend. "Cause she'll know I mean it" and Ducky laughed.

Jethro's house 2000 hours…

Jethro and Jenny with the Alice having dinner quietly and quite calmly from Alice side. It was take out night.

"Ally, don't talk with your mouth full!" Her father exclaimed. "And eat your veggies" He added.

"Don't want to!" Alice pouted, putted on her puppy face. She knew that her father has a weakness for her cute and special face. And when he was about to back down from his words, he glanced at Jenny; her expression was clear – do not back down!

"Veggies Ally!" her father ordered and Alice pouted, folded her arms roughly.

After dinner and putting their daughter in bed, Jenny and Jethro sat down on the couch in the living room, in front of the fireplace – having alone time, which they haven't had in a long time. Since Alice was born, their main priority was Alice. And with Jethro still working for NCIS and Jenny part time job a politician on the hill, it was hard enough. Even though sometimes Jackson would come over from time to time to take care of Alice, so the parents could work. It was still hard. But they both loved it, no matter how hard this was – they loved it. Alice was really the missing piece of their relationship.

"What are you thinking about?" Jenny asked him as she laid her head on his shoulder, watching the fire in motion and stroked his chest lightly with her hand.

He hugged her tightly and kissed her a lite on the head. "Marry me" He said simply.

She laughed. She didn't know how many times he'd asked her that question, ever since she Alice was born. She had her reasons to say no. but now – now she wasn't sure is those reasons still remains. She loves him and she knows that he loves her as well. At first she had thought that he was still by her side because of Alice. That Alice held him down. But over the time, he had proven her wrong – so wrong.

There was a long silence, but Leroy Jethro Gibbs was not about to back down. He would not let her go without an answer – a proper answer that is.

"I still don't get why you won't say yes" He snorted, breaking the silence. "Ally been asking about it all the…"

"Yes…" She interrupted him abruptly. He turned his head down, taking her face in his hands. "Yes…I'll marry you" She answered slowly, smiling at him.

He kissed her hard. His hands were everywhere. They broke away to catch their breathes. "Told you – you'll give in" He commented smartly as if he knew this was coming – which indeed he did.

Jenny laughed. "But I'm keeping my maiden name" She said seriously.

He snorted and replied; "Anything" and kissed her again.
