We didn't dress out in gym today since we had a substitute that didn't have a clue on how to teach a gym class and told us to work on assignments from other classes. I picked the lit magazine from my bag and started to finish it. I hadn't gotten to the pages about the contest yet because they were at the back of it and I always read it front to back without jumping around.

When I got to the contest pages there on the first page about it was a list of the top five contenders but there was no note of who the winner was. I was disappointed that they hadn't announced the winner but I was happy to say that mine was one of the top five. The winner would find out on Friday April twenty fifth, a week away and what a long week it was going to be.

The only other reason I hated not finding out today was I would now have to listen to Jessica Stanley say she was going to win for a single week. Not to mention all the girls claiming they would win when they weren't even listed in the top five.

1. High school Zoology: how my classmates relate to animals. By: Angela Webber

2. The ultimate shopping spree. By: Jessica Stanley

3. Little Green Army Men. By: Jasper Whitlock

4. Persuasion (in the modern since). By: Isabella Swan

5. Life of a video game addict. By: Eric Yorkie

I prayed and hoped with all I could that the four months of research I put into the story would help push me into the lead. I think I would only be disappointed that I didn't win the contest was if Jessica or Eric won it. I just couldn't see a story about shopping or playing way too many video games could win (well maybe if someone was slipped a little cash). I don't think either of them would understand the meaning of wining the trip either.

"Bella we need to get going. I want to leave before the harpies have a chance to brainwash us into one of them." Angela said bringing me out of my thoughts.

"That was the fastest gym class ever, and I can't blame you on that one at all. I mean look at them." I told her pointing to the girls in question fluffing their hair as Mike Newton walked by. Gag me. "I think that Jessica paid someone to write the story or essay for her because there is no way that one of her shopping trips inspired a story good enough to win this contest."

"Oh please a paragraph into your story I knew that you were a shoe in to win. I could only hope my story is second place to yours." Angela said.

"I'll meet you after school. I have to go and take that math test I missed last Monday."

"Guess I will meet you outside the library."
