Update: June 30 2016
The last nine minutes of Jessica's story were unbearable but I got through them with no lasting issues. It wasn't the worst story I ever heard but I wouldn't get those ten minutes back no matter how much I wanted them back. I didn't think it could happen but Eric's story was even worse than Jessica's had been. I really wanted to sneak off the platform and find a place to nap during that one. Jaspers story left me wanting to hear the rest of it (maybe I could persuade him to let me read it later). Angela's was a good story but it was not my usual cup of tea. I have no clue what the four of them thought of mine.
"Now time for the question and answer portion." The principle said once I was finished reading my story.
The first person to ask a question was a freshman girl that looked like a clone of Jessica. She walked up to the microphone set up for the question and answer section. After the girl said like for the third time in the same sentence I ignored her.
"Well my question is for Bella, I was wondering how long it took her to write her story because of all the detail that was clearly put into it."
"Well it took me several weeks to compile the information I used in it because it was something I wanted to write even without the contest."
There were about twenty more questions after that each from a different person. I was only asked two more questions after my first. Jessica had the most followed by Jasper and Angela who were tied with the same amount. Eric wasn't asked a single question.
I gripped the edge of my chair as I watched the principle stand up and start speaking to the students.
"It is now with the great pleasure that I get to announce the two students… yes that's right two students that will be living in England for a whole year and that is all thanks to a very generous and anonymous donation."
The students clapped and cheered quiet loudly. It took a few minutes for them to quiet enough for the principle to continue.
"Now the envelope please.' He said. His assistant handed it to him and stepped back. "The winners of the A Trip Abroad: Writing Contest are Isabella Swan and Jasper Whitlock. Congratulations on the win you two."
The assembly was dismissed and we were allowed to go home. Jasper and I were told to prepare for a call about our trip since things still had to be set into place. We were also given a packet of information to go over with our parents before the meeting. I stuffed it into the bag along with the lit mag's contest issue from last week.
I knew dad wouldn't be home when I got their so I screamed and jumped with joy when I stepped inside the front door. I was so excited that I won.
