Previously: Light smiled and tucked her phone back into her pocket just as she made her way back into the main hanger bay with one main thought in her head

'I will get my family back home'

Chapter 12: Not this world but Ours

Normal POV:

Light sighed as she approached the large metal door. She raised her arm to knock but hesitated as several thoughts rushed through her mind 'Should I knock? What do I say? How do I know he's even in the office still?!' She mentally yelled to herself. Light sighed again, for what seemed the umpteenth time that morning. 'The soldiers said he should still be in here' Light grabbed her hair in frustration 'God dammit why is this so hard?!'

Light took a deep breath and stood back up again, a glint of determination shined in her eyes 'Here goes nothing'. She raised her arm and knocked on the door three times.

*knock*knock*knock*

"Enter" She heard a masculine voice call from the other side of the door. Slowly she pushed the door handle down and entered cautiously, careful not to knock anything before fully entering and shutting the door behind her. Looking away from the door she saw the man she was looking for – Agent Simmons – who currently had his back to her and was busy working through a massive pile of paperwork.

"Well? What is it? If you haven't noticed soldier I'm awfully busy so whatever it is you have to say it better be important" Simmons demanded, He picked up a pile of paperwork and turned around to face the soldier only to freeze in place when he saw who it was.

Light chuckled nervously and gave a small wave "Uhh…Hey" she said timidly

Simmons blinked a couple of times to make sure he wasn't seeing things, before screeching and taking several steps back away from Light "Stay away from me" he threatened "I don't need any more problems because of you, or any more broken bones" he pointed his finger accusingly at her. Light sighed 'This is gonna be harder than I thought'.

Light held her hands up in surrender "Look I'm not here to cause any problems" Light began but Simmons cut her off

"Like hell you are"

"God dammit, will you just bloody listen already. I'm trying to apologise" Light said frustratingly.

Simmons stared at Lightning like she suddenly grew two heads. "What?" he asked, to just make sure he wasn't hearing things.

"I came here to apologise" Light repeated herself more clearly this time so that Simmons would definitely understand her this time before pointing to the two chairs that were seated around the office desk "Could we at least sit down and talk about this like civilised adults…please" she asked.

Simmons thought for a sec before taking a seat, he gestured to the one next to Lightning "Take a seat then".

Light smiled softly as she realised that Simmons was at least willing to sit and talk to her. Simmons interlaced his fingers together and placed them under his chin before leaning back in his chair. "So, you wanted to talk" he started off.

"Yeah" began Lightning "How's your…Um…jaw" she asked as she signalled to her own jaw.

In response Simmons moved his jaw around "Luckily not broken, doc says it's gonna be badly bruised for a few weeks so I need to be careful not to stretch my jaw so wide." Simmons explained "You've got quite the punch there" he then complimented. Light chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of her head

"Yeah, sorry about that. Sometimes I forget just how strong I am" she explained.

"Why?" Simmons suddenly asked

Light stared confusingly at Simmons question "What do you mean?" she then asked

"Why help the autobots, why stand up for them? Why help that sparkling?" He asked again, this time a bit clearer. Light leaned back and thought over the question, she glanced over to Simmons and saw genuine curiosity light up in his eyes.

"To be perfectly honest I'm not too sure myself" Light began to explain "I guess to me, the autobots are my heroes and have been such inspiration to me since I was little" She saw Simmons had now leant forwards, popping his arms on his desk and placing his chin on his hands, eager to hear what she had to say

"You see" Light continued "I've known about the autobots since I was 4, so about 16 years now. I've seen them fight battle after battle, battle against decepticons and against humans. They've lost everything from their own planet to their homes and even loved ones. I know for a fact that all they want is to call somewhere home, they don't want to be fighting this war. Humans and Cybertronians aren't that much different from each other, they're basically humans within a metal body. They feel emotions, feel pain, and feel love. They had homes, jobs, and children, a civilisation that was just like ours.

Why stand up for them? Easy. They didn't deserve to be treated the way you guys had treated them." Simmons was about to interrupted but Light continued "You felt threatened by the bots, I must admit finding out about a whole entire alien civilisation that could easily wipe the human race out feels quite intimidating. But treating them badly is not the way to go.

And with regards to Echo? In Cybertronians standards she is practically a baby. And very well may be the last one. She and Bumblebee are the two youngest autobots left of their civilisation. I was not about to let her be left in the hands of you guys who might try and experiment on her." She finished explaining. Simmons gave out a quiet hum before leaning back again in his chair. No doubt thinking about what Lightning had just said.

"Okay" he finally said after a couple of minutes "But why did you want to apologise to me" he asked

"Because I was out of order. We definitely got off on the wrong start and you're not a pretty bad person in reality, I was just angry about how the situation was dealt with, my siblings are everything to me. Six years ago my parents decided to start up their own business and it became a booming success – the problem was was that they were rarely home. They would leave in the early hours of the morning only to arrive late home at night, exhausted. I began looking after the kids, taking them to school, doing the chores, feeding said siblings as well keeping on top of everything with school and college. Any spare time I had that wasn't spent studying was looking after the kids, I eventually became very protective with them. Almost as if they had become my own kids, Oliver even came up with the nickname 'mum jr.'" Light chuckled at the memory.

"The kids had already been hurt by that Lucas guy and I wake up to see how badly they were treated made my slightly go into over-protective big sister mode, as Lily-Ann calls it. I had no right to punch you and for that I am truly sorry" Light finished as she bows her head down, avoiding Simmons eyes.

Simmons sighs "Then I guess I need to apologise as well".

Lights head shot up in shock but before she could speak Simmons held up a hand

"In all honesty I had no idea about what happened to your siblings or what Banachek was up to. When you first arrived I was in the main hanger with your siblings and after" he hesitated before continuing "confiscating the sparkling off them, I went with the soldiers to the other hanger by the time I had got back your siblings were already gone, Banachek saying that they had gone to a private medbay to wait for you. I had no idea what he had planned and if I did I would have already gone to Keller. So for that I apologise" he explained.

Light stared into Simmons eyes and saw he was genuinely sorry, she then chuckled. "I guess we both messed up. I wanted what was best for the kids and you wanted what was best for your people" she pointed out.

Within seconds both were laughing "God we are idiots" muttered Simmons as the laughter dwindled down into small chuckles. The tension that had previously been there from the start seemed to have now dispersed. Lightning stood up and held a hand out, a massive grin plastered on her face

"Let's try this again. Nice to meet you I'm Lightning Jones"

Simmons smirked in response, standing up he took ahold of Lightning's hand and shook it firmly "Nice to meet you Lightning I'm Agent Simmons".

*Knock*knock*

They both turned to the door, "Enter" said Simmons, a young soldier entered the room and stood to attention "Yes, what is it?" Simmons asked in a commanding tone

"Sorry to disturb sir but the others plan to leave in about five minutes" the young soldier explained. Simmons eyes widened as he remembered what he was getting ready for before Lightning had come in

"Very well, Thank you. You are dismissed now" Simmons explained and the young soldier left.

"Oh, you coming with us to meet the higher ups?" Lightning asked as she turned back to Simmons

"Yeah…Wait, Your coming as well?" Simmons asked, Light chuckled

"Of course, you're gonna need my input. Remember I know everything that's going to happen within the next 9 years, I need to make sure you guys get everything you need." Light then explained.

"Good point" Simmons commented after thinking over what Light said.

Light shook her head and made her way to the door and grabbed the handle before turning back to Simmons "We going or what?"

Simmons chuckled and grabbed the pile of paperwork from earlier and tucked it under his arm before also making his way to the door "after you" gesturing for Light to go first. Light smiled before walking

"Hey have I told you what happened when Sam and Mikaela met the Autobots for the first time?" she then asked as they walked down the corridors, Simmons shook his head

"No. Why? What happened?" He asked, now very curious as to what happened.

Light laughed "well…" she began.

~~ In the Main Hanger room ~~

"Alright people! We are leaving in less than five minutes, so I expect all of you who are going to be ready!" Keller bellowed out in the main hanger, watching the soldiers run about with preparations.

"Mr Keller sir!"

Said person turned as he heard his name being called out from what sounded like a young teen, turning he saw one of his soldiers 'Lacey', his mind supplying a name to the face and what seems to be one of Miss Lightning's younger sisters running towards him.

"Yes, can I help you…?" he trailed off, not remembering her name

"Angel" Angel responded with as she held out her hand to him. Keller in response shook her hand

"Angel, yes sorry about that normally I'm pretty good with names" He said before turning to his soldier "What seems to be the problem?" he then asked

"Sorry about this sir" Lacey then began "Angel here said she had something important to give to Light before she left, do you know where she is?"

Keller shook his head "Last I checked though she was with the Autobots in the cafeteria." Looking over Lacey's shoulder he actually saw said Autobots walking over "Speak of the devil though" Lacey turned her head to the direction her superior and saw what he meant.

"Have you seen Miss Lightning? Her sister Angel here wants to give her something" Keller asked as he stepped around said younger sister and walked up to the bots.

The bots – who were still in their human forms – and the humans shook their heads

"She left about ten minutes before us, isn't she already here?" Lennox asked. Keller shook his head

"Negative, I've been here since I talked to you earlier and she has yet to get here" Keller replied with before walking away and towards a soldier that was calling for him

"You think she might have got lost?" Epps then asked

"Nah, Light's smart. She would of have asked one of the soldier for directions if she had" Lennox responded with, crossing his arms in thought 'Where on earth could she be?'

Just then the soldier that was in Agent Simmons room entered the main hanger, stopped in front of Keller and saluted "Sir, Agent Simmons has received the message and is on his way over now"

Keller nodded, "Good work soldier, now go see if you can help with any last minute preparations"

The soldier saluted once again "Sir, yes sir" before turning away and helping some soldiers loading up. Meanwhile the others had overheard the conversation

Epps groaned "Ah crap, Simmons is coming?" he asked rhetorically, Lennox nodded in agreement. They didn't exactly start off with Simmons in the best way.

"Come on man' he can't be tha' bad" Jazz said as he and the other Autobots transformed back into their bi-pedal modes, Jazz grabbed one of his arms and stretched "Man I can't wait' ta be on da road again" he then said excitedly, happy to finally be out of this accursed dam.

Epps scoffed at Jazz's comment "You haven't spent enough time with him, the guy is a complete wack-"

"I'm a what now?"

Epps halted mid-sentence and turned to see a not too looking happy Simmons his arms crossed as he glared at the sergeant, daring him to finish that sentence, Epps gulped and nervously chuckled

"Nothing, nothing at all" Epps then said "We were er…" he then tried coming up with an excuse but miserably failed

Simmons laughed, which seemed to have got everyone's – including the bots – attention. Epps looked utterly confused at the 180 change of the Agents behaviour

"Er…." Epps trailed off, he looked over to Will for help as he pointed confusedly over at Simmons, and Will shrugged his shoulders, just as confused as he was.

"God, you should see your face" Simmons then began as his laughter died down into chuckles, he wiped a tear from his eye from laughing so much "I see why you like doing this so much Lightning" He then said as he looked behind himself. Everyone watched as Lightning came out from behind Simmons, she was biting down on her fist to try and stop herself from laughing. She high fived Simmons

"Man that never gets old" she said after finally calming herself down so that she wouldn't burst out into laughter. Everyone who wasn't Lightning and Simmons looked absolutely confused.

Keller is the first one to come back to his senses "What on Earth is going on?" he asked the two, Simmons stood to attention

"Sorry about that, Light was talking about pranking and how easy it is to get someone so easily embarrassed. I wanted to give it a try" Simmons explained

Keller hummed "And the reason it took you so long to get here?" He then questioned, this time Light stepped up

"Sorry Keller that was my fault" She then explained

Keller sighed "at least you're here now" he turned back to all the other soldiers "All right back to work you lot" he yelled. That seemed to have work as all the soldiers began to continue with whatever activities they were doing earlier. Angel then ran up to her sister and gave her a quick hug before gesturing with her head to Simmons.

"So it's all good now?" Angel asked

Light smiled "Yep, all sorted. Simmons is on our side"

"Good we're gonna need him" Angel said before taking a step towards Simmons and held out her hand "Nice to meet you, I'm Angel Jones, Lightning's younger sister"

Simmons shook her hand "Nice to meet you Angel I'm Agent Simmons. Now if you excuse me I have a couple of things still to do before we leave" he then walked over to one of the trucks that was currently being loaded up with some soldiers.

"So…what just happened? I thought if you saw Simmons again you would kill him" Epps asked curiously as Lightning walked over to him and the bots.

"Nah, we talked and sorted things out. Trust me, we're gonna need him in the future so we need him in our good books now" Lightning explained. Angel snorted

"In other words Light sucked up her pride and actually apologised for once" Angel then commented. Light rolled her eyes at her younger sisters comment

"What do you mean?" asked Epps.

"Light never apologises not ever. Unless it's to our parents or us kids. Otherwise you won't hear a peep from her" Angel explained.

"Oh haha" Light said sarcastically "Now moving on, why are you here?" she asked the young teen,

"Sorry about that light, that's my fault. She said she had something urgent to give you and I knew you wanted us to keep an eye on here so I came with here while Midnight stayed with Oliver, Lily and Echo" Lacey then explained

"Can I speak to you privately please…Aniki" Angel said as she tugged on her aniki's wrist. Light widened her eyes at Angel it was rare for her to ever call her Aniki unless she was very scared or had something important to tell her. Epps and Lacey noticing the silence between the two siblings took a step back.

Epps coughed "We'll just give you guys a minute then" before taking Lacey's arm and dragging her away from the two girls. Light mentally smiled for Epps and Lacey giving them a minute before dragging Angel out of the main hanger and around the corner, luckily no one was around to hear them

Light bent her legs so she was a near enough height to Angel. "Imouto, what's wrong?" she asked concernedly.

Angel smiled "Nothing is wrong, I just needed to talk to you alone for a sec" she explained "I know we can trust Epps and Lacey but I needed to make sure no one was listening in on what I'm about to tell you"

Light sighed in relief, knowing that there was nothing seriously wrong with her sister and stood up straight again "Alright hit me, what did you find out?" she then asked, guessing that the fact that if there was nothing wrong it meant she had information for her. Angel pulled out her phone, pressed a few buttons and handed it over for Lightning to have a look.

"That is Lucas Williams, from our world. Aged 45, Russian and English mixed background, fluent in four languages, knows at least two different martial arts and is on FBI's most wanted list for several assassinations for the past twelve years, however he dropped off the radar almost two years ago" Angel explained,

"Okay" Lightning nodded her head as she read over Angel's notes on the guy "please tell me you got more than this?" she asked

Angel placed a hand on her chest "You wound me sis" she said dramatically "to think so lowly of me" she continued, mocking fake hurt at the fact that Light thought so lowly

"Angel" Light said sternly, she didn't have time for games right now

Angel held her hands up in surrender "All right all right there's more" she pulled round the backpack she had and pulled out the laptop and turned it round in her arms for Light to see "The laptop, if you haven't already noticed is stuck in our worlds internet still, so without damaging that I managed to open up another algorithm that allowed me to re-hack the governments system. Being inside the dam itself has made it a lot easier to do, but this is what I found out about the Lucas Williams of this world, practically all the same info. Aged 45, Russian and English background, four languages etc. etc." Angel finished

"but?" Light asked, a small smirk on her face. She knew her sister way too well.

"But the Lucas of this world is dead, shot down in gun fight almost three years ago" Angel explained

Lightning's brow frowned in confusion "But if he's dead then how did we see him here?" she asked

"That's the interesting part" Angel said, as she turned the laptop towards herself and pressed a few buttons before turning it back to Lightning "This is the first bit of captured footage of Lucas since he was killed, which was two months ago in Manhattan. Now after doing some calculations and cross referencing the two worlds, since our world is May 2014 and this world is May 2007, there is a bit of time difference. However remember I said the Lucas from our world vanished two years prior." Light nodded her head at what Angel had told her earlier "Well, the time Lucas appeared in this footage it would have been about a month after he vanished so…." Angel trailed off

"So the Lucas we encountered wasn't the Lucas of this world but the Lucas of our world, which explains how he already knew about the autobots" finished Lightning as she put all the pieces together,

"But we have the new problem, of just how exactly did he get here and how did he know about us" Angel then asked. Light frowned again, she had already thought about how Lucas knew about them since she was sure that Angel was careful when they sent the email the first time to the bots

"It doesn't matter now, we'll cross that bridge when we get there, now is there anything else you need to tell me?" Light enquired.

Angel nodded and reached into the backpack and pulled out some glasses and a tiny black stone thing that was smaller than her little fingers nail. "Yeah I made you some things to take with you"

Light tilted her head in confusion. "But I don't already need glasses, I'm already wearing-" Light abruptly stopped as she reached up to her face to point to her glasses and realised that she wasn't wearing them "What the…"

Angel chuckled "About time you noticed. I talked to Ratchet and he had explained that when he inserted the nanites into your body it reacted not only to the wound but to your eyesight as well, so you no longer need glasses but you rarely ever take your glasses off so no wonder you hadn't already noticed" she then held up the glasses in her hand "These, I designed just for you" she handed them over to Lightning who immediately put them on, curious as to what Angel had done to them

"There's a built in microphone into them and this" as she held up the small black thing from earlier "is the transmitter that goes into your ear, it means we will be able to converse wherever you are in the world." She handed it to Lightning before continuing "I've got that Satellite idea up on another laptop, which I'm still working on, but this way if we have anyone pop up early I can still get in contact with you straight away"

"Wow, Angel this is amazing" Lightning said as she admired her sisters handiwork

"That's not all, it has a GPS system and its calibrated to the algorithm on the other laptop and so" she went on her tiptoes and pressed the corner of the lens and on the right lens popped up a mapping system "if any new signals pop up near you then you'll know" Angel finished explaining

"Wow, I really don't know what to say" Lightning said, again completely gobsmacked at what her sister has made.

Angel wrapped her arms around Light and gave her a hug "Just promise me you'll stay in contact and stay safe" she asked, Light smiled warmly and returned the hug.

"Of course, who's gonna stop Oliver from throttling you two when you piss him off" Light teased,

"Eh hem"

The two siblings looked up to see Lacey standing there "Sorry to be a bother guys but they're about to leave" She explained, Light released the hug and ruffled Angel's hair

"Be good for Midnight and Lacey" she said and made her way back to the main hanger towards the bots, Lacey walked over to Angel

"You good then" Lacey asked, Angel smiled and placed another transmitter into her ear

"Yep, lets go. I still need to finish that other algorithm off for Light" Angel said before taking off down the corridor.

Light smiled as she watched the soldiers load up into the trucks

"Oi Light you ready to go?" Epps asked as he jogged over to Light, Light nodded

"Yep, I plan to sleep for most of the way anyway" Light said, Epps laughed as he placed a hand on her shoulder and guided her to the bots

"Most of the bots have already transformed but Optimus wanted to wait for you, said something about needing to talk to you?" Epps explained "Lennox and I are actually going with Ironhide and Sam and Mikaela are with Bee"

"Naw, Hide's going soft then" Lightning commented with a laugh, Epps laughed with her

"Careful, you don't want him hearing you say that otherwise you won't hear the end of it" Warned Epps

"What? A softy like him? Naw" Light joked as she lightly punched Epps in the arm "Just be careful yourself"

"Oh haha" Epps responded with "OI Big guy, Lights here" Epps then yelled up to Optimus, using the same nickname for him as Lennox had done before. "See ya later kid" He said, giving Light a quick wave and jogging over to Will and Hide.

Optimus looked down to see Epps jogging over to Will and Ironhide, turning his attention back to the young female just in time to see her let out a big yawn

"Tired?" He asked, Light craned her neck up to the giant robot and mocked glared at him

"Not funny" she said before looking down again and rubbing her neck "God, why are you lot so bloody tall" she muttered to herself, Optimus smiled before transforming into his vehicle mode, and swung a door open

"Hop in then, you can sleep on the way" Optimus offered, Light smiled before letting out another yawn

"God you're a life saver" She mumbled tiredly before climbing into the Peterbilt truck and settling into the seat that wasn't the driver's seat, it wouldn't look good for a truck to be driving itself when the person behind the wheel is asleep now would it? Light buckled herself up, signalling she was ready to go

"Get some sleep Lightning, we've got quite the journey to make" Optimus said, noticing that Light had been sitting for only a few minutes and was already starting to fall asleep

"You sure?" Light asked mid yawn

"Positive, the journey itself is just over two days long. More than enough time for you to catch up on all the sleep you've missed" Optimus explained

Light cringed and cracked an eye open "you know about that?" she asked uncertainly

"Lily-Ann told us what happened to you as children, and I understand that you don't want to sleep. But your safe here, nothing will happen to you while you sleep, I promise" Optimus answered.

"Thank you" Light smiled softly before snuggling deeper into the seat "Ya know, this is the first time in months that I've actually felt safe"

"Go to sleep Lightning" Optimus simply said,

"Night Optimus"
