"Go to sleep Lightning" Optimus simply said,

Chapter 13: Diabolical plans

normal POV:

~~ somewhere unknown~~

"UGGH!" he screamed as he punched the punching bag that was in the centre of the room, A million and one thoughts rushing through his head, however they kept coming back to what happened over a week ago.

He then began hitting the punching bag in frustration

"God – punch – dam – punch - fucking - punch – Bitch!" he shouted in between punches, before halting and grabbing the punching bag before it got knocked over from the force of his punches, he rested his forehead against as he took some deep breathes. "I haven't even been here for a month and my team gets taken out by a bunch of fucking kids and some kid who can now control the bloody all-spark" he muttered angrily to himself, his anger once again rising

"Lucas, sir"

"WHAT!" said person turned away from the punching bag, unintentionally yelling at one of his newest recruits. The young soldier flinched slightly at the outburst but still continued

"The boss is back from his two week trip and he wants to talk to you immediately" the soldier explained,

Lucas sighed "alright, tell him I'm on my way"

"Don't bother I'm already here" the so called 'boss' said as he marched through the door, his expensive Italian shoes making a quiet click as he walked and black well-fitted suit would make you think he was no older 40 if it wasn't for his grey slicked back hair. He turned to the new recruit "Thank you soldier, you are dismissed now"

Said soldier nodded to the men "Sir, boss" before turning and leaving. Lucas snorted

"What happened James? Did somebody die?" he asked jokingly to James – his 'boss' as he reached down for his bottle of water

"There will be in a minute if you don't explain why half of my men are currently in the infirmary" James threatened, Lucas winced slightly from his bosses tone.

"In my defence this was you plan" Lucas started,

"My plan?" James asked uncertainly before his piercing green eyes widen in recognition "you mean it worked?"

Lucas nodded "Yep, the kid couldn't resist attempting going through the portal. Even her siblings followed through"

"Well? Where are they?" James asked

"With the fucking autobots" Lucas growled through gritted teeth

"WHAT! Why? You were supposed to interfere before they could get to the Autobots" James then demanded

"Turns out the kids were more resourceful than we had anticipated and had somehow managed to contact them before we got there. And you should of warned me that the kids could fight or for the fact that that fucking bitch could use the allspark" Lucas said as he pointed as his boss accusingly

James hesitated as he processed what his second in command had said "She used the Allspark?"

Lucas blinked at his boss' uncertainty before answering "Yeah, she's the reason why most of the recruits are in the infirmary"

"That's brilliant" James exclaimed

"Huh" Lucas was confused, his boss was happy that some kid had wiped out most of their soldiers "How on earth is that brilliant!?"

"Because if our dear Lightning is with the Autobots it means the plan can be accelerated by a few weeks" James then bluntly explained

"Woah, okay hold up" Lucas held up a finger "You're not making any sense at all, you dragged me here from my world to help you and you want to go after some kid. I'm not doing anything until actually tell what the bloody hell is going on here"

James nodded his head in agreement "Your right. Tell me Lucas, what is an Autobots most greatest weakness"

Lucas was silent as he mulled over the answer "their compassion?" he asked uncertainly. James shook his head.

"It's their bonds" James answered for him "Cybertronians have something called a spark, somewhat similar to a human heart, however a spark is so much more powerful, the bonds they make between parents, siblings, friends and even lovers is not a 'emotional bond' like humans, it's a 'physical bond'. They talk through this bond, they can see and feel the other Cybertronian and that is their greatest weakness.

When two Cybertronians love each other they do something called a sparkbond – similar to marriage – but the bond is intensified by a tenfold. So say one of them died, the other Cybertronian would soon die from the heartbreak because of the pain that overflows through the bond is so strong that they can't take it and end up – well most do – offlining themselves" James explained,

"How does that help us" Lucas asked

"Optimus has sparkbonded with a Cybertronian called Solus Pax. We find her and kill her, Poor Optimus would most likely offline himself because of the pain."

"Okay, sure. We find his wife and kill her, great. But what about that rest of the Autobots" Lucas then enquired, James smirked

"That's the beauty of it, Solus is what they call a Spark keeper. Any bond she had was already made stronger because of the Allspark. The five Cybertronians that are currently here all have a bond with Solus…"

"So if she died, not only Optimus but the others would as well" Lucas finished for James as he put the pieces together, but then frowned as he thought of something "Then why are we going after this kid? And how are we going to find this Solus, for all we know she's on Cybertron still"

James hummed "Yes that is somewhat a challenge, however Solus arrived at Earth roughly 20 years or so ago and has been in hiding with the humans ever since, we've tried tracking her down but with no success."

"So why the kid?" Lucas asked again

"Because Lightning knows where Solus is" James answered but continued before Lucas could interrupt "as well as being Solus' counterpart from your world. Do you remember what happened almost ten years ago?"

"ten years ago?" Lucas asked himself quietly before his eyes widened "ten years ago you kidnapped Lightning and two of the kids"

James nodded "I had lost over 30 of my men that day but yes, we had attempted to get information on the infinite combinatoric but before we could get any answers we were attacked by a Cybertronian – well Solus to be exact – she took out my men with her Allspark powers and took the children with her before we could retaliate. It was a completely unexpected, none of our alarms went off till she was inside the base, and we had no chance"

"but?" Lucas asked, he felt like there was a but coming

"There was no sign of a forced entry but only a forced exit. And some of the soldiers claimed they saw Solus just appear next to Lightning out of thin air. Not only that but we were in your world at the time, if Solus is currently hiding in this world how on earth did she know that Lightning and the children were in trouble?" James asked rhetorically "my theory is is that Solus made some sort of bond with Lightning"

"And you want Solus, so if Lightning was in big enough trouble your hoping Solus will appear to protect her" Lucas finished off

"And with Lightning with the Autobots make it even better, If we can get Lightning in danger while being with them and Solus appearing, we can kill her right in front of Optimus' eyes, what better way to crush him then have him hold his dying love that's been missing for several years" James finally finished.

Lucas grinned maliciously "That boss, is pure evil" before patting a hand on James' back "When do we start?"

James laughed at his SIC enthusiasm, "Patience, We need to wait for Lightning to no longer be on guard. Hit them when they least expected, and after everything that's just happened they will all be on guard -

Lightning will be the downfall of the Autobots, and they won't know what hit them until it's too late"
