Update: July 6 2016

"Dad I will not forgive you if you do not go to that ball." I said. "You know that I am not into that kind of thing. I will be Cinderella once in my life and that is not going to happen anytime soon."

"I do not want to be in a monkey suit for hours doing nothing." My dad replied.

"Dad I have told you that I don't mind being alone. Edward Mr. Boscastle and the other men you went fishing with will be there." I told him. "You can talk with them."

"I feel like I am leaving you alone all the time and I came here to see you."

"Dad I have told you time and time again that we have spent far more time together over here than we would have if I was at home. It is your vacation you deserve to have some fun on your own."

"You my daughter have grown up way to fast."

"Sorry it's too late to stop and there is no way to turn back time safely. Not that I would want to."

"Bella, Charlie a Ms. Alice Brandon is here to see you." The Boscastle butler said. "She is also carrying three garment bags and insist that she must see you now."

"Oh one of them must be the tuxedo that Edward is lending you." I told my dad. "I have no idea what the over two would be but who knows with Alice. You can show her in Mr... I'm sorry I don't know your name."

"You can call me Carlton." The man replied. "I must go retrieved Ms. Brandon now."

Carlton left the room to get Alice. I was excited to see my dad all dressed up like James Bond. The most I had ever seen him dressed up was in his dress uniform whenever a fellow officer was being given an award or had unfortunately passed away. It did not take long got Alice to burst into the room after Carlton told her it was okay to enter.

"I have the perfect tuxedo for you Mr. Swan." Alice said looking at my dad. "It belonged to mine and Edward's grandfather, only he never got the chance to wear it. I guess it's a great thing that you two are the same size."

"Oh... Uh... Thank you for letting me wear it." My dad replied.

"It was no problem. Now go put it on so we can see it"

My dad grumbled but went to the bathroom with the tuxedo to try it on. I heard him grumbling as he walked away. I kept the laugh I was holding in until the bathroom door was closed all the way and then it was a free for all. I did not stop until I heard the door creak as it opened it back out. I sat up and turned to the door on question and saw my dad standing there in a black and emerald green tuxedo. He looked quite handsome in it.

"Wow." I said taking him in. "The women of forks would be all after you dressed up like that when you got home. You would never get a break."

"I have to concur with your daughter Mr. Swan. You do look quite debonair in that tuxedo and it's a perfect fit. There is not one spot that needs to be taken in or let out."

"Um thank you Ms. Brandon." My dad said blushing.

"Oh call me Alice. Mrs. Brandon is my mother and even she likes to be called by her first name."

"Alice when does the ball start?" I asked.

"It officially starts at seven but I will be there to make sure everything is how Edward's mother and I planned it. I also have to give the guest list to security so no unwanted guest can sneak in." Alice said. "You Bella will be on the list in case you change your mind."

"Thanks but I don't think I will." I replied.

"Okay the ball is not until seven and it's eleven thirty. Now can I take this dang monkey suit off?"

"You can Mr. Swan but should put it back on at five after a nice shower. So you can leave by six or six thirty at the latest." Alice explained to him. "Now Bella I want your opinion on this dress I made for my client. I made two of them one in navy blue and the other in black. I have no clue which one I should take to her."

"I am taking that as my cue to leave."

"Alright by dad. I'll see you after the ball or in the morning depending on how late you get in."

My dad then left Alice and I alone in the guest room of the Boscastle home. Alice jumped up and shut the door right behind him. She was so hyper that she seemed like like an Easter bunny high on sugar or some kind of illegal substance. I'm hissing Alice's would be sugar.

"You have to tell me what color the dress looks best in. Edward's mother liked the black while my mother liked the blue. I then asked all the girls I know and it ended fifty fifty between the two."

"So you came to ask me to break the tie because?" I asked.

"Because even if you don't follow the trends or dads you have a good eye for fashion." Alice replied.

"I wear what I like and what I feel comfortable in nothing more and nothing less. I never tried to be a model."

"Well that is a good thing. I hate girls that starve themselves to look like the models on the magazine covers." Alice said. "I actually think I am too thin and can do with gaining a little more weight but not too much."

"Are you sure? You look fine to me." I replied.

"Oh yes I am. I ran into a health issue a couple of years ago and the doctor said my low weight was a big issue." Alice said. "Now which dress do you like?"

Alice had pulled out both dresses as we were talking and hung them up so they were displayed nicely. I stood up and looked at each one and they were identical from the very first stitch to the very last bead. The only difference was the color of the dresses one navy blue and the other one black.

"Well they are both great but I would have to say that it depends on your client's skin tone and what color looks best with that skin tone." I told Alice.

"What if I said the dress was for you?" Alice asked.

"Alice I am not going to the ball. I don't want to piss off Tanya and her mother more than I already have."

"It's a good thing that the ball is a masquerade then."

"I don't have a mask but something tells me that you already have one for me to use tonight."

"You would be correct. It is mine from the golden summer ball dyed blue. I'll be doing so much this time around that I won't have time for even the simplest mask." Alice said. "You have the dress, the shoes and the mask. Get ready at the same time as your dad and leave ten minutes after he does. I will see you at the ball."

Alice had left the room before I could even reply to her. She left the navy blue dress and mask and a previously unseen box of shoes. I took all three items and hid them from my dad.

"Did Alice leave already?" My dad asked coming back into the room in his normal clothes.

"Yes. She had a dress to take to a client. Where is your tuxedo?" I replied.

"It is hanging in the bathroom." He said before joining me on the couch to watch a new action movie. "Can't believe I'm going to a gala for a duke."

"Well believe it because you are going. You have to go. It may be the only time I get to see you in a monkey suit that elaborate." I said. "Because I don't plan on having anything more than a Sunday at church thing."

"Please don't talk about gettin' married. I just watched you graduate high school. I'd like to see you graduate collage before I hear about a wedding." He said.

"Don't worry dad I don't plan on it. Besides sort of eloping in Vegas with a stranger after getting wasted I don't see that happening."

"Please don't do that. I'd rather be at a court house wedding that find out about an elopement."

"Either way dad that won't be happening for another four years at least."

"Good I have time to save up." He mumbled. "A father does pay for the wedding."

After that comment we sat there in silence looking at the TV.
