EPOV

It had been over a month since the trial ended and now my dear fashion obsessed cousin was planning another ball. I didn't really want to attend another one of those balls but it was tradition to hold three balls before announcing an engagement (even if it came about years later).

I pulled my laptop out and went about entertaining myself since I didn't have class as I took finals a week ago. I just haven't received the results yet so I don't know if I would be going on to my next year of medical school.

"Edward I need you to go out and pick up more tomatoes."

"What in the hell do you need tomatoes for?" I asked.

"Just something I found on Pinterest." Alice responded.

"Fine I'll go get them I need to get out of here for a while."

"Stay safe."

I pulled into a small local grocery store five minutes later. I grabbed a buggy and went to the produce section and found the tomatoes. I grabbed a pound of them, if Alice wanted more than that then she would have to come and get them herself. I then went and grabbed a few more things we needed. I was about to go check out when I ran my buggy into someone else's buggy. I immediately started telling them sorry.

"It's okay Edward. I wasn't looking where I was going."

"Bella, it's been a while."

"Yeah it is kind of hard to believe that I have been here almost a year."

"So you will be leaving soon?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"Well if I don't see you again before you leave goodbye and thank your dad for me again."

"I will and it was nice meting you Edward." Bella replied.

I watched her walk away. I hurt to see her go but she wanted to go back to America and I wasn't going to keep her from doing that. She needed her dad and I guess her dad needed her. After a few more minutes I walked up to an open checkout and paid for Alice's tomatoes and the other stuff I grabbed.

I drove home in a daze and locked myself in my office. I wanted to be in a relationship with Bella but I wasn't sure on how to go about asking her to be in a relationship with me being who I was an all. My communication skills with girls sucked quite bad unless they were family. I may be a Duke I knew without a doubt that I wasn't like or going to be like one of those Dukes in those romance novels Alice liked to read and leave all over my house. Give me a murder mystery any day and I will be happy to read it but a romance novel well that just sends shivers down my spine and not in a good way.
