I haven't added to this story for ages and it's nearly a year since I started it, so I apologise for being so slow. However I do plan to keep writing and see where I can go with this story, so let me know what you think and I hope you enjoy reading Chapter 10. Xx
It was gone twelve 'o' clock now, and Lucy and Lee had moved from the bedroom to the sofa. Lucy lay asleep on her back as Lee leaned over her, holding her hand and admiring how beautiful she was. He'd spent a lot of time holding a sleeping Lucy in his arms recently, which of course he didn't mind. She was so adorable when she was asleep and it gave him time to try to memorise every detail of her body. He also understood that she was probably still tired after the long drive home yesterday and sleeping hadn't exactly been their top priority last night.
Lee smiled to himself as he thought about how lucky he was to have Lucy as his girlfriend. This is what he'd been dreaming of for the last five years. Being curled up with Lucy on the sofa, kissing and cuddling, him in only his boxers and Lucy wearing one of his shirts. However, he was soon brought of his thoughts when the phone began to ring making Lucy wake up with a jump and give out a small cry of panic.
"It's ok," Lee soothed her by gently stroking her hair, "it's just the phone ringing. I'll get it."
Lee got up to answer the phone as Lucy rubbed her eyes sleepily.
"Hello," Lee said once he'd picked up the phone. "Oh, hello Wendy...yes of course, I'll put you on to her," he spoke down the phone, before handing it to Lucy, who was now sitting up.
"Hi Mum," said Lucy.
"You haven't just woken up have you darling? You sound half asleep," Wendy asked immediately.
"No Mum," Lucy lied, though strictly it was true as she had been up a lot earlier that morning.
"Oh, you sound a bit tired, that's all. For a moment I was worried you'd spent too much time with Lee and adapted his lazy behaviour." Lucy rolled her eyes, feeling annoyed. Why did her parents always have to criticise everything and everyone? Also, she was frustrated that their opinion on Lee had remained the same ever since they'd met him and it worried her how they would react when she told them that her and Lee were now in a relationship together.
While Lucy chatted to her parents on the phone Lee went to sit beside her, placing his hands around her slim, toned waist and kissing the top if her head. When she was in the same room as him he found it incredibly difficult not to touch her or hold her in some way.
When Lucy ended the phone call with her parents she threw the phone into the sofa beside her with quite some annoyance.
"What's the matter?" He asked as he began to play with her hair.
"Mum and Dad have just invited themselves over for lunch tomorrow.
As if I haven't seen enough of them recently!"
"Oh," Lee sighed. He didn't mind Wendy and Geoffrey coming over that much but it did mean that he wouldn't be able to lie around with Lucy in his arms all morning like they had done today. "Maybe it would be a good time to tell them...about us I mean," he suggested. After all, keeping their relationship a secret was only going to get more difficult in the long run.
Lucy nodded, "OK. I suppose we can't sneak around forever." Then she paused before adding, "I'm really scared about how they're going to react though, especially Dad."
Lee leaned back against the sofa, pulling Lucy with him so she was lying on his bare chest. He leaned down so his mouth was next to her ear as he spoke, "whatever happens we will deal with. It's better to tell them sooner rather than later so they can get used to the idea quicker. And however they react, it's never going to change us. I promise."
Lucy nodded her head, smiling as she took hold of one of Lee's hands, kissing it softly before snuggling into his chest. "Let's just stay like this all day."
"That's fine by me," Lee replied, smiling as he kissed the top of her head. "I can't believe I can hold you in my arms like this. I never thought you'd feel the same about me as I always felt about you."
"Always?" Lucy asked as she turned her head to look up at Lee.
"Lucy, the first day I met you I fancied you like mad!"
"Really?"
"Yeah," Lee spoke softly, "when I saw you for the first time, I couldn't believe that someone that attractive was standing at my doorstep. I can still remember it, you looked gorgeous. I mean it Luce, I couldn't take my eyes off you." Lucy blushed and cast her eyes down, feeling shy in front of Lee as he gave her all these compliments.
"Is that really true?" She asked quietly.
Lee nodded in reply, and looked into her eyes for a long moment, before asking, "What did you think you me the first time you saw me?" Lee asked, he was curious to find out what Lucy had thought about him since they'd been living together.
Lucy smiled to herself as she thought back to the moment when Lee opened the door to her. "I thought you were mad, you were holding a mallet after all." Lee chucked at the memory. "But I also couldn't help thinking that I found you quite attractive," she added as she brought her eyes back up to meet his. Lee raised an eyebrow in disbelief. "Honestly! You're a good looking man Lee," she assured him.
"I had no idea you thought that. I always thought that I wasn't good enough for you and that you'd think the thought of us being together was ridiculous."
"I could never have thought that," Lucy said. Then she looked away again frowning slightly. "I am sorry though. I don't feel like I ever showed you much respect. I was always nagging you about everything and I shouldn't have. I'm sorry." Lucy did feel guilty for the way she'd treat Lee over the years they'd lived together. She really wished she hadn't been so harsh with him at times.
"You've no need to apologise Lucy. I know I can be a nightmare to live with. But can I ask you one question?"
"Of course."
"When did your feelings for me change? When did you first realise you were falling in love with me?" Lucy paused for a moment, feeling a little nervous about explaining her emotions, although she didn't know why, she trusted Lee completely. "Please, I want you to be honest with me," Lee spoke gently as he played with a piece of her soft blond hair.
"After you got hit by the car. When you were in a coma and we didn't know how badly you were affected. I'd never felt so worried in my life because I couldn't imagine losing you. And I realised that the reason I felt that way was because I'd fallen in love with you. I couldn't tell you though. I was worried that you'd be freaked out and that would ruin what we already had. I spent so much wondering if you felt at all the same, and there was a few times when I thought you were going to make the first move." Lucy spoke sincerely, and Lee knew she was telling the truth. He found it so amazing that for quite a while now they had had mutual feelings for each other.
"Wow," Lee smiled, as he looked at Lucy, feeling incredibly happy and warm inside. "I never thought I'd be good enough for someone as beautiful and intelligent as you." Lucy blushed. "I knew I was in love with you when you started seeing Guy. I was really jealous, and I knew I wouldn't have felt that way if you were just someone I found attractive."
"I'm sorry," Lucy said quietly.
"Don't be," Lee said as he tangled his hand through her hair and brought her lips to meet his, kissing her softly.
"Do you really think I'm beautiful?" Lucy whispered as they pulled away.
"We've had this conversation before," Lee replied, looking deep into her eyes. "You are beautiful Lucy, you are naturally beautiful." With this Lee wrapped his arm securely around Lucy's waist and placed his other hand on the back of her head so he could safely turn her to lie beside him again. He began kissing her passionately and he slipped his hands under the shirt she was wearing so he could feel the shape of her body. He could sense her breathing was becoming more intense with every touch. He placed his hands on her hips and pulled her body even closer to his.
After a moment she gentle pushed him away saying, "Lee we can't do this again."
"What?" Lee was confused and he searched her face for any sign of what the problem was, she hands automatically massaging her sides.
"If we carry on this will be the third time we've had sex in less than twenty-four hours. We need to slow down. I don't think my body could take it again." Lucy looked down, feeling awkward, even though they were now closer than ever and would end up discussing very personal things.
"Oh," Lee realised that he probably was getting a bit too carried away, but that's what being with Lucy was doing to him. "Sorry," he said gently, wrapping his arms around her and placing a kiss in her hair. Lee always felt so protective of Lucy now, he wanted her to be safe and happy. He would never even put all his weight on top of her if they were lying down kissing just in case he hurt her. She just seemed so delicate sometimes and he couldn't bear the thought of hurting her.
Lucy sighed, feeling frustrated with herself, "I'm such a terrible girlfriend, I'm sorry I always seem to stop us before things get too heated when we're together."
"Hey, never say that! You're the most amazing girlfriend ever. You're just the sensible one in the relationship. I can never seem to think of the consequences before it's too late, that's why I need you with me."
Lucy smiled, finally looking up to meet his gaze again. She leaned forward to give him a gentle, loving kiss, before they both moved positions so the we're sitting up an Lucy was leaning back to rest on Lee's chest. Lee leaned his head forward so he could place kisses on her neck. A moment later he said, "I hate to have to say this, but if we're going to stay like this for the rest of the day you might have to get dressed. It's far too tempting seeing you wearing only me shirt."
As he spoke, his breath on her skin gave her goose bumps and what he was saying made her shiver even more. She turned around in his arms and said with a seductive innocence, "sorry, but I will say the same for you. You are, after all, wearing even less than I am." She placed a hand on his bare chest and leaned in to give him a quick kiss before getting and saying, "I won't be long."
As she went off into her bedroom Lee couldn't help but smile at how perfect live was with Lucy as his girlfriend. He loved being able to show her how he felt about her.
This chapter has been mostly fluff, but the next chapter will move the story on a bit more with the meal with Wendy and Geoffrey, as well as seeing Lucy and Lee dealing with their first problems as a couple. Thank you very much for reading; I hope you're still enjoying this story! Xx
