Ten hours after Alice called me I found myself sitting next to Bella's hospital bed. She was alive but unconscious. Her right arm and left leg were broken. I hadn't heard from her dad for over eight hours. I sent him several text but got nothing back in return. I could only hope that it was because he was on his way to England so he could see her.
I was beginning to compose another text for Charlie when on of the machines hooked up to Bella started to beep quite loudly. If I didn't know better i would scare that the machine was going haywire. Bella's doctor and several nurses rushed into the room and I was pushed out and down the hall to the waiting room.
I stood at the end of the hall so i could see the doctor leave. It wasn't long after that Bella was being wheeled down the opposite end of the hall. I sat down andI fell asleep in a chair waiting to hear about Bella. I didn't even realize I had fallen asleep until i was shaken awake by Bella's dad.
"Do you know how Bella is doing?" He asked.
"She was doing great but I have no clue how she is now. They rolled her down the other end of that hallway a while ago. No one has said anything to me since." I replied. "You could probably get them to two you something since you are her dad. I'm sorry I don't have more for you."
"That's okay. Do you know what happen?" He asked.
"Only something about the stairs but I'm not sure what. My girlfriend Alice does know more. She was there when it happened. She left to see her uncle and then went home hours ago." I replied. "I can call her if you want me to."
"It's late and she Is probably sleeping." He replied. "I would not want to wake her. Are you doing okay?"
"I'm good. Hey looks like the doctor is coming back."

"Are you the family of Isabella Swan?" the doctor asked.
I looked around the waiting room and there was no one else there . I shook off the sarcastic comment I wanted to make and shook the doctors hand.
"I'm her father. Is she okay?" I asked.
"Yes. Your daughter is fine. She had a small clot in her heart we were able to fix It with no problem. We will keep watch for any lasting damage she may have but I think she will make a full recovery."
"Thank you Dr…"
"Collins. I will come by once she is out of recovery to check on her and fill you in on any changes that may have happened."
"Can I see her?" I asked.
"Only for a few minutes. Our visiting hours have just ended and we try to keep visitors out of the recovery area because of germs."
"Should I wait to see her then?"
"Your daughter is the only one in recovery at the moment so it will be okay but we only have a few moments until another patient come out of surgery."

I watched as the doctor led Mr. Swan to the recovery wing. After few minutes Mr. Swan was walking back by himself. He had been gone all of fifteen minutes. While he was gone I had called the Boscastle's to see if it would be okay for Mr. Swan to stay over so he could save the money on a hotel room. They said that he could stay as long as it was needed for him to be here.
"Hey how is she looking?" I asked.
"How no decent father ever wants to see their daughter."
"That doesn't surprise me. I talked with the Boscastle's and they said that you could stay with them as long as you needed to." I replied. "You need to get a bit of rest before coming back to see Bella later"

It would be three days before Bella woke up and it was only for a couple of minutes before she fell asleep again. It was during one of her short awaking she had a quick neurological exam done along with a quick check of her heart. These would be done several times before she would be given the all clear to go home.
I spent every single moment of the hospitals visiting hours by my daughters bedside. I would read to her. I would play her favorite movies. I would also tell her stories of her childhood and I did all of this just to keep her mind busy.
Finally a week after she was injured the doctors had weaned her of the pain med for her to wake up and stay awake. The Nero doctor said that all appeared well and good but ordered a few test just to make sure everything was in the clear. Bella just smiled and asked me when I had arrived in England because as far as she knew I was in Forks. We talked for a little longer until she fell asleep again.
I smiled at her as she drifted off. I then stood up kissed her forehead and went to get something to eat.
