Chapter 13: Land of Waves Part 8
"I have failed you Zabuza, I am like a weapon that has been broken and is of no further use." Haku says as he steps forward heading towards Naruto. Naruto gasped as he stepped backwards slightly. Haku stopped right infront of him.
"Naruto... Kill me." Haku says.
"What how can he just say that about himself, he a living breathing human he can not just regard himself as a tool." Rin objected.
"Rin, remember. He only had Zabuza and Zabuza is using him for his abilities. So you can not be surprised when he says he only a tool in his mind because he lives for Zabuza." Minato says to his student.
"Sensei." Rin says lowly.
"That is the most ridiculous story I have ever heard. " Naruto said backing up several feet.
"I mean, he treats you like a slave, your a human being not a weapon or a tool. How can you care about someone like that!"
"For that very reason, does that seem so strange to you?" Haku asked.
"Well yeah." Naruto answered. "A little."
"Yes it is way strange not a little, Naruto do not lie to him." Obito tells him as he wagged his finger at Naruto.
"Obito, you know he can't hear you, right." Kakashi says.
"When he found me, I was without a purpose or a reason for living. Zabuza gave me both." Haku said as he remembered running up hill to zabuza carrying a white bunny rabbit but he stumbled causing him to drop the rabbit and the rabbit fled, Haku tried to go after it but he was not quick enough.
Zabuza came from around the bush to show Haku the rabbit locked in his tight fist. Haku took the rabbit from him and smiled up at him and Zabuza grinned and ruffled Haku's hair.
"That show of kindness, Is something that is rare." Tsunade thinks, "He does care for the boy."
"How do you know?" Kakashi asked.
"It obvious he care other wise he would have not caught the rabbit for him." Kushina tells him.
"But now my usefulness is over. The only thing that gave my life meaning is gone. I'm a broken tool blunted weapon that is no further use to anyone. Go on Naruto, do it. For both of our sakes." Haku tells him.
"Do it quickly." Haku tells him.
"So eager to die, no reason to live he tells himself." Jiriya says. "There is always a reason to live."
Kakashi began to make four hand signs before looking up. "Ninja art; Summon Earth Style, Fang Pursuit Jutsu." The son of White Fang slammed a scroll on the ground crackling the surface as word's spilled from the scroll.
"A Summoning Jutsu?!" Kakashi said, happily.
"What! Why are you getting all the cool Jutsu." Obito mumbled as Kakashi looked at him smug.
"I'm just cooler than you are." Kakashi told him.
"What was that?!" Obito yelled glaring at Kakashi.
"Enough you two." Kakashi says.
"I don't know why you bother what use is your jutsu if you can't find me but I can find you," snorted Zabuza. "Your basically falling into my trap. You disappoint me. You cure right it is time to end this." The assassin eyes widen as he gasped when he sensed something. As the ground began to rumble, a ninja dog shot out from the ground trying to bite the former Mist Village ninja however he maneuver the attack causing another dog to bite on his leg in the process. As the eight dogs pounced on rogue ninja, they began biting a hold of his leg.
"How did they find him?" Rin questioned but none answered her questioned.
"That dreadful noise, what could it be?" Mr. Tazuna asked.
"The sound of dogs biting through Human flesh." Fugaku says as everyone turned to look at him.
"What?"
"Nothing dear." Mikoto said as Itachi laughed in her arms.
"I don't and I'm not sure I want to find out." Just the thought of knowing what was happening between her sensei and enemy made Sakura shivered in fear. Though, she stood her ground, protectively in front of Zabuza. She needed to be brave!
"That right have some determination!" Tsunade stated glaring at her future student.
"I realized, if I couldn't see you I would have to smell you, that was a summoning jutsu. I was calling forth my ninja hounds, they can track a scent anywhere." Sensei of Team Seven stated as he went on while the dog growled furiously at Zabuza.
"So that is how, you used your own blood so they will be able to track your scent." Rin said as she looked over at Kakashi.
"Yeah..." Kakashi says as she diverted his gaze.
"When you attacked me, I let you get passed my guard. I wanted you to cut me. You see the smell of my blood on your blade that led them to you, surprised?" Kakashi asked.
"Looks like I wasn't the only one that was blind."
Zabuza snorted as he could not move from his position.
"Falling into my trap, you disappoint me Zabuza." Kakashi tells him. " Ahh the mist is finally clearing and you know what I see your death."
"Talk, Talk, do you mean to talk me to death?!" Zabuza yelled.
"It not good to get ahead of yourself, Kakashi." Minato says.
"I don't think he trying to be arrogant, Minato." Kushina answers. "Maybe he does have a plan out of this."
"True." Minato says.
"In a way, yes." Kakashi answered. "Right now my hounds are just playing with you and one word from me and they will tear you apart."
"Poor Zabuza, see where your ambitions got you? You were always pushing things to far. The failed mizukaze assassination and your failed attempt at a Kudeta. You were forced to flee, with the few followers you had with your countries tracking ninja hot on your heels. You became a rogue ninja, who name was quickly known."
"Wait he tried to kill his village Kage!" Obito yelled shocked.
"That is something that I find surprising." Jiriyia says. "Very few people ever try to go against the ways of a village."
"But he failed so it not like it matters." Tsunade says.
"Even in the village hidden in the leaves. Now your crazy enough to want to go back and try it again and for that you need money and to get it you would stoop so low to be the hired thug of a swine like Gato. Your right Zabuza, enough talk it is time to finish this and it won't be with sharingan or imitations of some other ninja tricks. No it is time I introduced to my own jutsu!" Kakashi said making a hand sign.
"What is that jutsu I never seen those organization of hands signs before." Fugaku says as he focused in on the jutsu with Sharigan.
Obito looked at the head of the Uchiha clan envious at the other's Sharigan.
"He did say it was his own jutsu maybe he made it on his own." Rin says.
"Rin, making a jutsu is not a simple as that and from the looks of it this is a pretty complex too." Tsunade explains.
Kakashi stood across and began to form three other jutsu before holding in place as his chakra became visible as a circle came around him and chakra shot up to his like a lighting rod. "Lighting Blade!" Kakashi yelled.
"The chakra so strong that it is visible and he holding it in his hand." Zabuza says.
"That is impossible Chakra can't be visible to the human eye." Jiriyia says, "And only certain clans with ablites such as the Hyuga are able to see it.
"I won't allow you to kill Tazuna, he is a brave man with a noble dream. The bridge he building is the hope of this land and all its people. Your like a virus you attack one you affect all and you don't care." Kakashi says. "That is not the way of a shinobi."
"Your right i don't care. These useless little people and there petty little dreams why should they matter to me! I have a dream of my own. " Zabuza says.
"A dream that may cost you your life." Mikoto mumbles.
"Did you says something, Mikoto?" Fugaku asked his wife Mikoto shook her head, "No."
"But to have a dream you need to have a future, and you don't." Kakashi said seriously.
"Your future is all used up."
"Go on, finish it."Haku instigated. "Kill me. Why do you hesitate?"
"Why is he hesitating? Sasuke is..." Obito started.
Mikoto and Faugaku flinched slightly at this.
"Obito!" Rin said as she glared at the Uchiha.
Naruto takes a step back as Haku stepped back to close the distance between the two.
"Didn't you say you wanted to be a mighty warrior?" Haku questions.
"A warrior knows when to and when not to take a life." Fugaku says solemnly.
"That is not what it is about... do you really believe that is all there is to it is fighting and killing until there is only one man left standing." Naruto tells him. There was a brief moment of silence between them.
"There is a lot more to being a shinobi then that!" Naruto informs him. "And there is other ways in showing your strength than by just beating someone in battle."
"Yeah, you train harder than anyone so you won't ever loose to anyone, And you will never loose anyone you care about ever again." Kakashi says as he recalled his father.
"I had a feeling all along that from the first moment we met in the woods, were are a lot alike." Haku says as Naruto gasp in surprise. "I'm sure you know what I mean. I'm only sorry that it must be your hand that is tainted with my unworthy blood."
'The pain that this kid knows is unlike any other.' Kushina thought, as he looked at the other with a solemn expression. "It like how I was treated when I first came to the village."
"Sure about this?" Naruto asked. "And you are positive that this is the only way."
"Yes." Haku respond without a moment of hesitation.
"The weird thing is... if we meet in another time and place. Maybe we could have been friends." Naruto said before he pulled out a Kunai and started to run towards Haku.
"I hope that you guys will be friends this time." Minato says as he closed his eyes slightly.
"Yes that right. Hold Fast to your dreams." Haku thought.
"This is for Sasuke." Naruto thinks. "Because he also had a dream."
Itachi perked up at the sound of Sasuke's voice.
Naruto yelled as he ran towards Haku with determination.
"Thank you Naruto, Strike true." Haku thinks as he closed his eyes and waited for the blow to strike.
"At last I think this blasted fog is clearing." Tazuna says to Sakura.
"Look they are standing still." Sakura says. "Like they are squaring off."
"Yeah, I can't see a thing." Tazuna says.
"Which one is Kakashi-sensei?" Sakura pondered. She gasped as she saw one moving. "One is moving."
Kakashi ran forward to deliver the final blow onto Zabuza ,when Haku eyes snapped open as Naruto was closing in on him bur haku moved to grab his hand, Naruto gasp in surprise.
"Sorry Naruto, change of plans." Haku says before he started to make hand signs with his free hand. "I'm not ready to die just yet." and with that Haku disappeared.
"He can't be thinking that he can rescue, him." Mikoto says as he watched the teen disappear.
"I would not put it pass him, he lives for Zabuza and he would do anything to protect him." Jiriya answers as he looked back at the pond.
Kakashi continued to run towards Zabuza as his Sharigan eyes blazed with the intent to kill. There was a crack in the bridge and steam flowed out.
"Is this the end?" Zabuza says as he could not move.
An Ice mirror began to form as Kakashi thrusted his hand forward towards Zabuza.
"He did!" Rin screamed in horror as she saw the boy jump in front of her.
The Lighting struck and blood splattered all over Zabuza face as he stared in surprise. There was a shock wave that blasted passed Sakura and Tazuna.
"That is just terrible." Kushina says as she closed his eyes as Kakashi was looking at the hand that would soon take the life of someone younger that him.
Minato noticing this and moved over to his student and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Its alright Kakashi." Kakashi nodded but did not look up at his teacher.
"What in the devil!?" Tazuna exclaimed.
Kakashi who was also surprised as he looked at Haku who had his arm was stuck in the kid chest. As his ninja hound decimated.
Everyone stood there frozen as they all stared at the boy who had risked his life to save Zabuza. Haku groaned as he coughed up blood and he looked back up at Kakashi and grabbed a hold of his arm.
"Zabuza..." Haku grunted out.
"I can't believe that he really did it, sacrificing his own life for him." Obito said pointing at Zabuza. "I agree with Naruto on this that is seriously messed up."
"So my future... is all used up huh?" Zabuza asked as he let out a laugh, "Really? Wrong Again Kakashi."
"Where did he go?" Naruto says as he turned around to see three figures standing behind him. "Is that him?" Naruto said as he ran towards the two of them. Naruto gasped once he saw Haku in front of his sensei holding his arm.
"What the heck, I don't get it?" Naruto said. "What is going on here?"
"He jumped infront of him to save him, Naruto." Tsunade informs him.
"Isn't that the young man in the mask?" Tazuna asked Sakura.
"The boy threw himself infront of my attack." Kakashi tells them.
Zabuza closed his eyes.
"He saved your worthless life, at the cost of his own." Kakashi said as he glared at Zabuza.
Zabuza let out a laugh before praising his student. "Well done Haku."
"What is he up too?" Minato questioned as he saw Zabuza began to move.
Zabuza yelled as he lifted his sword to attack.
"Kakashi-sensei watch out!" Sakura yelled
"He would hack right through the boy to get to take me down." Kakashi thought surprised.
"That messed up!" Rin yelled glaring at Zabuza.
"After everything that he has done. He would just cut him down like a weed." Obito says. "He is seriously messed up in the head."
"I knew I found a treasure when I found you, boy." Zabuza tells him. Kakashi tried to move but Haku had a firm grasp on his hand. "You not only gave me my life but Kakashi's as well." As Zabuza flashed back to when he and Haku were leaving the Hidden mist village.
Kakashi grabbed a hold of Haku's body and jumped out of the way as Zabuza swung his sword.
"Not bad for having a corpse in your arms." Zabuza says jokingly as he didn't look up at them.
"Why I ought to?!" Obito yelled glaring at Zabuza as he began to scream profanities at Zabuza.
"You will pay for that." Naruto yelled.
"No, stay out of this Naruto." Kakashi order his student as he laid Haku's body onto the ground and closed his eyes before laying his head onto the bridge.
"Why did you stop him, Kakashi?" Rin asked looking over at the other.
"Well beside the fact Zabuza is way more stronger than Naruto?" Kakashi asked sarcastically.
Rin turned and glared at Kakashi slightly and mumbled, "Kakashi, you idiot."
"This is my battle, Zabuza mine." Kakashi says.
Sakura blinked several times before she called out Naruto name.
'Sakura.' Naruto thought as his shoulders sagged slightly.
"He was probable worried about her." Mikoto said as Kushina nodded her head.
"So you and Sasuke are alright?" She asked but Naruto looked away. "What wrong, where is Sasuke anyway?"
"Sasuke…." Fugaku mumbled as he looked away slightly only to feel the comfort of his wife's hand on his.
Naruto still would not look at her.
"No..." Sakura mumbled.
"They always die so young." Tsunade said as she looked at her future student.
"Sakura." Kakashi said before Zabuza called out his name.
"I would stay focus if I were you." Zabuza says as he ran at him once more but Kakashi kicked the other away.
"He right, Kakashi, stay focused." Minato told his student.
"Sakura, let me take him to you as long as we are together it won't be disobeying your teacher orders." Tazuna says.
"He is so nice to let her go to him." Rin says.
"Thank you." Sakura says as they ran towards Naruto and passed him as they ran to Sasuke fallen form.
"Sasuke... " Naruto mumbled.
'I wonder why he feels so close to Sasuke?' Mikoto thought as she watched the blonde.
Sakura gasped as she stared at Sasuke still gasped as he turned away. Sakura collapsed onto her knees as she leaned forward to cup his cheek.
Everyone gave her a sad smile before looking at Sasuke cold dead body.
"His body is cold it not one of his genjustu tricks is it?" Sakura asked.
Tsunade stared at the body but noticed something was off with the body. 'Don't tell me that boy.' thinking back to Haku. 'It could be possible.' She thought.
"Go on you don't need to be brave on my account. Go ahead and let your feeling out, Sakura it is alright." Tazuna tells her.
"I was the best, Aced every test at the academy, the perfect student. Did you know there are more than 100 principles of shinobi conduct. I memorized every single one. I loved when they test us on it. It gave me a chance to show how smart I was. I remembered this one exam so clearly, they asked us to explain the 25 principle. I got it right of course. A shinobi must never show his feelings, no matter what the circumstances. Feelings are a weakness, and only clouds judgement and sense of duty." Sakura says as tears streamed from her eyes. "Sasuke."
Mikoto could not stop the tears that started to cascade from her cheeks as she watched the young kunoichi cry over her dead son.
"To put such an unbearable burden on a young girl shoulders. If that is the shinobi way, you can have it." Tazuna thought as he watched Sakura cry onto Sasuke cold form.
"The worse thing that could happen to a ninja is watching your fellow comrades drop like flies before your eyes." Kushina said as she thought about her family and the rest of the Uzumaki clan and her hand tightened on the hem of her skirt.
"Kushina, are you okay?" Minato asked as he notice how tensed the redhead was and moved to take her hand away from her dress and hold it into his own hand.
Kushina eyes snapped upward locking them with Minato before she blushed and diverted her gaze and nodded her head.
Kakashi and Zabuza was going head to head. Zabuza gasped as he fell to one knee gasping.
"Why can't I keep up with him?" Zabuza thinks.
"Because, there one thing I know and none can match Kakashi's speed." Obito boasted as the other looked at him surprised.
"He is actually starting to grow up some." Jiriya says as he looked at the two ninja's before him.
As Kakashi stared at the assassin coldly. Gripping his sword Zabuza ran forward with his sword in hand when he swung his sword Kakashi punched him sending him flying across the bridge. Kakashi swung his hand hiting him aside his face with the back of his hand.
Zabuza grew more frustrated as the battle went on. "I will split you in half." He yelled as he swung once more but Kakashi merely stepped back as his sword came crashing on the ground. As Kakashi appeared behind him and grabbed a hold of his neck.
"He is not thinking rationally about his next attack." Jiriya assessed.
"Look at you, you're falling apart. I knew you didn't have what it takes for the long hall." Kakashi says.
"What did you say?" Zabuza asked.
"You're right Jiriya he is obviously taking the bait in which Kakashi's setting for him." Minato says agreeing with his sensei not noticing that he was still holding onto Kushina's hand and the other did not pull away either.
"You have no idea what real strength is." Kakashi tells him.
"Well Well this is how it turns out." Gato says
Kakashi twirled his two kunai in his hands as he gripped them tightly in their hands.
"Game over." Kakashi tells him. "You lose."
Zabuza swung his sword in reverse and Kakashi jumped back from the attack Kakashi attacked his good arm causing to lose his grip on the sword and it went flying away from him as Kakashi did a backflip away.
"He would sacrifice not being able to use his Jutsu just to escape." Rin said frowning slightly.
"Rin, don't forget that Zabuza is a trained swordsman so he can make do." Tsunade told her.
"Now both of your arms are useless. You can't even make a hand signs." Kakashi says.
"He did quite a job on you Zabuza." Gato said as he stepped forward, "You look like yesterday Sashimi." Gato continued. "I must say I'm disappointed." as he had an army of ninja behind him.
"Pfft…." Rin and Obito said as they tried to contain their laughter at that joke.
"Gato, I don't understand what is all this why are you here?" Zabuza questions. "Who are these thugs you brought with you?"
"Hmmm... well you see there has been a slight change in plans," Gato started as he lifted his cane up before hit it back on the ground. "According to the new plan you die right here on this bridge, Zabuza."
"What?" Zabuza asked as his eyes grew wider by a fraction.
"In other words you have be bamboozled." Fugaku said as everyone turned to look at him surprised, "What?"
"Dear it just that you're rarely use slang." Mikoto informed her husband.
"Hmm…" Fugaku grunted in response.
"That right, you are too expensive. So I decide to take you off the payroll." Gato says. "Of course even these thugs I brought with me cost me something so if you could manage so if you could slaughter a few of them before they put you down I would Appreciate it. Think you could manage Ninja of the miss." Gato teased.
"How could he just say that don't any of them care that he said he does not care if they die?" Obito questioned as he looked at the thugs confused.
"No they don't Obito, because if their own village was to find them they would be killed anyways." Minato told his student.
"You looked as demonic as a wet Kitten." Gato says. Thugs laughed from behind Gato.
"There is so many of them." Naruto thought as he gaped at the sheer number of the people that could be brought. "One rogue ninja was bad enough."
"You can take them Naruto! They look super weak." Kushina yelled as her grip tightened on Minato hand. Causing Minato to gasp slightly before looking to see he hand Kushina hand in his own as Kushina did the same before slowly dropping his hand and turned away to hide the blush that was evident on her face.
"Sorry." She mumbled.
"Well, well Kakashi, it would seem that our fight has came to an end. Since I'm no longer employed Tazuna is safe." Zabuza says, "We have no quarrel."
"What so now their fight is over?!" Obito said in outrage.
"Yes, Obito, The ninja are bind by their contract and once the one who issued the contract says he free to go even if the job is not done that ninja is free to go." Jiriya told the youngster..
"Yeah, I suppose you're right." Kakashi agrees.
Gato stepped forward heading towards them when he looked down at Haku's body. "That reminds me, I remember you, your the little punk that grabbed me and nearly broke our arms. I have been meaning to repay you for that." Gato yelled as he swung at Haku limp body.
Everyone gasped in horror and shot hateful eyes at the other.
Naruto gasped in horror as Kakashi glared harder at Gato as Zabuza stood motionless.
"How can he just stand there and watch how he is being treated like that!" Rin yelled glaring at Zabuza and her teammates nodded her head in agreement.
"I only wish that he was alive to feel it." Gato says as he poked Haku on his cheek with his cane.
"Get away from him!" Naruto yelled, "You scum." as he ran toward Gato but Kakashi grabbed him before Kakashi grabbed a hold of him.
"Hey, Stop." Kakashi told his student. "Use your head." Naruto as he continued to struggle against his hold.
"Well what about you, Zabuza?! You just going to let him do that." Naruto states.
"Be quiet,fool." Zabuza tells him. "Haku's dead what does it matter."
"What does it matter he was loyal to you and you don't give a damn!" Kakashi yelled as everyone was surprised to hear an outburst from him.
"What! You mean you can just stand there and watch him get treated like that. Like a Dog, You and Haku were together for years. Does not mean anything." Naruto retorts.
Minato's student's nodded their heads in agreement.
"You don't understand nothing, the way of the shinobi. I merely used him as Gato used me. Now it is over, his usefulness at an end. " Zabuza tells Naruto. "The loss of his strength and skill, yes. That means something to me, but the boy, nothing."
"W-Whaa?!" Totally freaked out by this, Obito couldn't believe thism after everything Haku done for Zabuza, he didn't even care. It's ourageous!
"If you mean that, then you are a bigger rat then I thought." Naruto states.
"You're right son!" Kushina exclaimed, clenching her fist.
"Hey, that is enough." Kakashi says placing a hand on his shoulder."Calm down Naruto. He is not an enemy. Not right now."
Naruto threw his sensei arm off his shoulder, "Shut up!" He yelled at Zabuza. "As far as I"m concerned he is enemy number one." he says pointing a finger at Zabuza.
"He's a bold one, alright, I wonder who he gets it from?" Fugaku wondered, looking at the Kushina and Minato.
Zabuza looked out of the corner of his eye at Naruto.
"Why you, you ungrateful after everything he did for you." Naruto says as he looked over at Haku. "Haku lived for you."
"Do you have someone that is precious to you?" Haku asked.
"He knows how ." Mikoto touched by that scene had a tear dripped from her porcelain cheel.
"You were the most important thing in the world to him." Naruto states
"For me there is only one person that matters to me and I must protect and serve him and let him use my strength." Haku says.
There wasn't anything for Kakashi could say, all he did, was closed his eyes.
"And he meant nothing to you. Nothing at all!" Naruto says.
"The way of shinobi is difficult for me." Haku says.
"Its difficult for everyone… who is not cut out for the life." Tsudade says.
"He sacrificed everything for you, you never felt anything for him at all." Naruto says as he recalled when Sasuke and Haku were fighting.
"I will do anything to make sure that his dream is fulfilled even if I must become a shinobi." Haku says
"He was willing to be come something he despised in order to make Zabuza dream come true." Obito says.
"And If I become strong does that mean, I will become as cold-hearted as you are."Naruto says as he sounded close to crying.
"No, Naruto you shall be strong, the strongest person out of everyone." Kushina says.
"You will be the one who your comrades all respect." Minato added.
"And you will have a family who will love you."
"So he threw his life away and for what? For you and your dream." as tears began to spill from the corner of his eyes.
"I only want to make his dream come true. That is my dream."
"You never let him have a dream of his own, but he didn't care." Naruto says.
"I was happy."
"He really did not want anything else but to make him happy. He did not care for his own well being only for him the one person who took him in and made him feel needed." Obito says.
"That had to be offly lonely." Rin says as the other nodded there heads in agreement.
"And you just tossed him like he was nothing a broken tool. Man that was so wrong, so wrong." Naruto says.
"You talk to much." Zabuza says as tears slowly dropped from his face as he looked up towards the sky. "Your words cut deep. Deeper than any sword."
"He can't be…." Kakashi started.
Naruto looked at Zabuza surprised to see him cry as Kakashi averted his gaze to the ground.
"He is actually crying." Jiriya says surprised as he saw the tears escape from his eyes.
"He actually did care for the boy no matter how cold he seemed it was just his way of showing he cared for Haku." Kurama says to them all.
"While he fought you, his heart was breaking in two. You see Haku was always to soft and too kind. He felt pain and sorrow and now I feel them too. And something else too, and this is the way it ends." Zabuza says as he ripped the bandages around his mouth.
"Well cat got your tongue. Are you so surprised that I am human even Shinobi are human. Now matter how hard we try, we can not escape that fact. We always failed." Zabuza says as he smirked slightly. "At least I failed."
"There is nothing wrong with showing your emotions." Rin says.
"It is about gaining control over them is what is the big problem." Fugaku says.
"Boy!" Zabuza called out to Naruto. Naruto looked up at him surprised. "Give me your Kunai."
Naruto sighed as he looked down at the ground. Before he took a Kunai from his pouch and tossed it to him. "Here."
Images flashed through his mind as he thought of Haku. Zabuza leaned back to catch the Kunai in his mouth and glared towards Gato and ran at him with Demon like speed.
Gato gasped in horror as he turn tailed and ran behind his group of thugs as he yelled. "Do it now, Take him down Now."
"What a big scaredy cat he talks all that crap but when it comes doen too it, he can't do a damn thing." Obito says glaring at Gato.
"Yeah!" The thugs all yelled as they prepared their weapons, but Zabuza continued towards them."He must be out of his mind to take on all of us." one says.
Zabuza said nothing but ran through the thugs cutting them down as he went into the circle of the thugs. Jumping and weaving through the room the thugs as he sliced them down. But one pierced his back before he stood up and took more of them on but Zabuza managed to break through and made his way over to Tazuna.
"He's a...a Devil." Gato says as he saw the murderous intent that Zabuza was leaking out.
Zabuza closed in and stabbed Gato through his black suit. Causing Gato to cough up blood. But the thugs surged forward stabbing Zabuza four more times in the back.
"No he is not he just wants to kill you which is driving him to take off your head." Mikoto says as everyone looked at her surprised. "What?"
"Nothing."Everyone murmurs.
"You crazy fool, you are so eager to join your friend then go ahead but you're not taking me this time." Gato says.
"I won't be joining Haku. Where he has gone and I can't follow." Zabuza said as he stood back up slightly. As he walked over at Zabuza.
"What is he talking about?" Obito asked. "He is dead you can die and be there with Haku."
"I think he talking about what happens in the afterlife, Obito." Kakashi says.
"Stay back." Gato says as he back stepped.
"No my friend it is the other place we are going to." Zabuza said smirking as Gato looked at him terrified. "You and me both, Gato." He spat towering over the businessman. "I can't think of a more fitting death than that, for a demon ninja. Can you? I bet there are many Demons down there waiting, of all shapes and sizes. Oh yes, I will fit right in you on the other hand."
Zabuza snarled as he had one eye open as wide as possible as, the eye to cringe as blood dripped from his nose."Are in for a long and painful eternity." He diped his head down an ripped out a Kunai from his chest and began to stab him once, twice, three times as Gato feel back slightly as Zabuza lunged forward to deal the finishing strike causing him to fall off the bridge and into the the lake.
"Good riddance." Jiriya says as he smirked as he watched the other fall to his death.
Everyone gaped at Zabuza before he turned to glare at the thugs that remained. Thugs gasped and dropped there weapon and back stepped.
Zabuza gaped before he dropped the Kunai that was in his mouth and began to walk towards Haku as his vision began to blur and blood leaked from his wounds. Stumbling slightly as he fell to his knees and called out "Haku, so this is good bye at last. Not once did I ever thank you Haku. Forgive me for that." Zabuza says as he fell forward to the ground.
Naruto groaned as he turned away from Zabuza who stood in the middle of the group of thugs that diminished in numbers.
"Don't turn away." Kakashi tells Naruto causing Naruto to gasp."When you live like a warrior, this is how it ends."
"Why would you just let him watch him die?" Rin asked looking at Kakashi.
"It because not always will someone will be able to come back alive and sacrifices will have to be made in order for people to live." Kakashi says.
Naruto sighed.
"Huh, where am I?" as the vision began to clear "Am I alive or am I... Sakura? Can it be? It is." Sasuke said as he heard Sakura crying before his vision cleared and he saw her crying onto her chest. "Sakura, it is hard to breath with you on top of me."
"Sasuke!" Mikoto and Fugaku cried out in relief hugging one another.
"So that kid did not kill him, he would make a skilled medical ninja." Tsunade thought. "If only I or a professional would be able to teach him.
Sakura broke away instantly showing her tear filled face as she looked down at her teammate.
"Sasuke." Sakura cried in relief.
Tazuna gasped as Sasuke blinked slowly at her.
"Tazuna, he is alive." Sakura yells crying even harder.
"Ow, Sakura, that hurts." Sasuke winced.
"Yep, he is most definitely alive." Obito cheered as he smiled widely.
"Sasuke." Sakura cried as she clung to him.
"Well something turn out right after all." Tazuna thought as he wiped away the tears from the corner of his eyes.
"No, what are you doing?" Sakura says. Sasuke groaned as he ignored Sakura suggestion and sat up right.
"You should not move." Sakura says.
"How is Naruto?" Sasuke questioned as he held his stomach slightly. "And that guy in the mask."
"Naruto is just fine." Sakura answers smiles, "b-but the one in the mask he is dead."
"Dead, but how did Naruto do it?" Sasuke asked.
"No he did not, kill the boy." Jiriya says as he looked down at the floor.
"No I don't know I came in later, but he was protecting Zabuza and I had faith in you Sasuke." Sakura started. "I knew that you pulled through. Your too cool of a guy to stay down for long."
"He never meant too." Sasuke thought. "From the very beginning."
"He only wanted Naruto to think Sasuke was dead." Minato says.
"Why would he want that, Minato-sensei?" Obito asked.
"So That Naruto would fight him seriously without worrying about Sasuke." Minato answers.
"Naruto!"Sakura called out to her teammate. "Over here, look at Sasuke, he is alright."
Naruto gasped as he turned around to see Sasuke standing. Sasuke diverted his attention before he lifted up his hand in the air. Naruto let out a sigh in relief.
"But how?" Naruto thought as he looked back at Haku then he remember what Zabuza said.
"When he was fighting with you, his heart was breaking in two. You see Haku was always to soft and too kind."
"I see." Naruto says.
"Well, Well, wonders will never cease." Kakashi says. "Amazing."
"Hey, you two." A thug in a mask says.
"I had honestly thought they all would have run after Gato had died." Tsunade mused.
"Don't get to comfortable." another one says with a scar. "Who is going to pay us now that Gato is gone."
"There is no way, we're going to leave here empty handed. So will just have hit that Village to see what they got for us." The masked one said as the other thugs cheered in the back of him.
"This is not going to end well for them." Rin says as she looked at at the thugs.
"Not good." Kakashi says.
"Come on Kakashi sensei you must have a jutsu that can take care of these bunch of losers." Naruto says.
"Not right now, I used to much of my chakra." Kakashi says.
"That a wrong time to run out of Chakra." Kakashi says frowning at his future self.
"Get them boys." The one in the mask motioned as he pointed at him but an arrow shot down in front of them stopping them in their tracks.
At the base of the bridge, stood the villagers.
"There is one little thing your forgetting about." Uncle Sechi says. "Before you step one foot into out village you will have to go through all of us."
The Villagers screamed in agreement.
"Inari!" Naruto yelled
Inari laughed before smiling, " Heroes, usually show up at the last minute y-know."
"Just Like Naruto said, He really has a way of influencing all those around him." Obito says smiling as the other nodded there head in agreement.
"They all came, the whole village." Tazuna said.
The thugs groaned as they stopped.
"Heh there is no way that I'm missing out on the fun" Naruto thought. "Shadow clone Jutsu." and four other Naruto's appeared.
And the thugs took a further step back.
"Chickens." Kushina murmured.
"I just might have enough chakra to help you out" Kakashi says. " Shadow clone Jutsu, Kakashi style." As an Army of Kakashi appeared.
Thug's gasped in horror.
"Okay, Still want to fight." Kakashi says.
"No way, no thanks." They yelled as ran to the ship.
"What a bunch of wimps running away like that." Rin says
"Victory." Inari yelled along with the other villagers.
Kakashi walked toward Zabuza.
"It sounds like it is over." Zabuza says.
"Yeah." Kakashi says.
"Kakashi, I have a favor to ask of you." Zabuza says.
"What is it?" Kakashi questioned.
"Take me to him before I go, one last time." Zabuza says.
"He really did care for the other." Mikoto says.
Kakashi lifted his hand to pull his headband over his sharigan eye before he answered. "Sure." Kakashi removed the swords and weapons from Zabuza body before he lifted him up into his arms and began to walk towards Haku.
Soon snow began cascade down from the sky surprising everyone.
"Impossible." One villager says.
"Snowing in this time of the year." Another says.
"is it you Haku? Are you weeping?" Zabuza thought.
"Snow…. it looks good this time." Minato says as his students looked at him confused. "It would always snow around Haku when something sad was happening but now this snow seems to trying to comfort Zabuza.
Kakashi bended down and placed him next to Haku.
"Thank you." Zabuza told him. "Kakashi."
"You were always at my side. At least I can do, is to be beside you in the end." Zabuza said as he groaned as he lifted his hand up to touch his cheek, "I know, but I wish I could go to the place where you have gone. Oh How I wish I could, join you there,... Haku." he finished as he drew his last breath.
"There is always hope for a new Future for you, Zabuza." Minato says.
"Yeah, Kakashi, can always just change the future later." Rin says.
"I can…" Kakashi says.
"Of course you are alive then so you can change the course of events." Obito agreed.
"He told me, where he came from it was always snowing all the time." Naruto says he sniffled slightly.
"Of course, his spirit was as pure as the snow. You never know Zabuza maybe you will join him there." Kakashi says. "Who is to say?"
As the sun was setting, Zabuza sword stood over his grave, whose laid next to Haku's.
"Is this that really it, Kakashi-sensei?" Sakura asked.
"Hmm." Kakashi grunted turning his attention to her.
"Is that the ninja way? To use and to be used by other people like tools?" Sakura asked standing up to face her sensei.
"Tools that can be broken and tossed aside like it was nothing and none would care." Fugaku said thinking about the many Uchiha had gone missing and when he reported to the 3rd hokage it was brushed aside and said they were handling the matter.
"Shinobi, all are merely tools, in the hands of destiny. " Kakashi answers. "No point in wondering, if it is right or wrong. It just is. It the same in the hidden village of the leaves."
Naruto looked from the graves and back at Kakashi, "Well if you ask me, if that what being a ninja is all about something is out of wack." he says. "Is that the reason why we go through all this training just to end up like them."
"What is the reason for that?" Sasuke asked.
Kakashi sighs before replying, "Well, It is a question without an answer. That is something we ninja have to deal with everyday of our lives. Like Zabuza, and the kid."
"Okay." Naruto stated determinedly as his team looked at him confused. "I just came up with a decision, from now on I'm finding my own way ninja way. A way that is straight and true without any regrets. From now on I'm following the way of Naruto. "
Minato gaped at the younger blonde. "He just can't make up his on nindo."
"Apparently he does not care about all that and will follow his own way." Jiriya laughed before smiling at his student.
Kakashi gasped as he looked at the blonde and smiled.
"We could have never finished the bridge without you." Tazuna says. "I can't tell you how much we are going to miss you."
"Do be careful." Inari mother says.
"Thank you, for everything." Kakashi tells them.
"Now now, don't get all choked up." Naruto says. "Well come back and visit real soon."
"You swear you will." Inari asked as he tried not to cry. Naruto looked at him surprised.
Tazuna put a hand on Inari's head.
"Of course." Naruto informs him fighting back tears."You know Inari, it is alright to cry if you want. There is nothing wrong with that. Go for it."
"Who says I want to cry." Inari says grinning as tears began to escape. "If there nothing wrong with it why don't you go on and cry."
"No you first." Naruto says as they stared at each other seeing who would cry first. "Forget it." Naruto says as he turned away began to cry as well as Inari did as he reached out towards Naruto.
"They both look like they are about to cry." Rin says. "Sometimes boys are so stupid."
"Boys can be so pathetic." Sakura thought as she looked out of the corner of her eye at her teammate as they began to walk away.
"It was all his doing, that boy made you strong, Inari. You in turn made the rest of us stronger. It was thanks to that boy." Tazuna says looking at Naruto. "We were able to build a bridge to a place that we have never known, a place where we found our courage to fulfill our dreams."
"Say, speaking of the bridge. Now that it is finished should we name it?" A villager asked.
"Yes, of course. He and I just the name." Tazuna says.
"You do?" The villager questions. "What?"
"We will call it the great Naruto bridge." Tazuna answers.
"Wow he got a bridge named after him." Obito says awe struck.
Inari's mom laughed at this. "That is a very good name."
Naruto laughed as he put his hand to the back of his head and said, "I can't wait till we get back and let Iruka-sensei, buy me a whole mess of ramen! To celebrate a mission accomplished. OHHHHH! Just wait until I tell Konohamaru, about all my adventures the kid gonna, going to worship me."
"Hey." Sakura called.
"Yeah?" Naruto answered.
"Not you Naruto. Sasuke, when we get back do you want to go out and do something together?" Sakura questioned.
"I don't think so." Sasuke answers. "Thanks."
"Oh..." Sakura says dejectedly. "Okay."
"Sakura, I can do something with you if you want?" Naruto says.
"What!" Sakura says as she swung and punched him in the face."That was a private conversation, buddy. So beat it." Sakura yelled as she threw Naruto away.
"You sure about that name Tazuna?" The villager asked.
"That the name that brought us good luck." Tazuna answers. "It will do the same for the
bridge. I think this bridge will stand for a long long time. Perhaps it will even be famous one day. The name Naruto, known through out the world. That would be something would not it." Tazuna said as he looked down at Inari.
"Wow for there first major mission they were a huge success." Kurama says.
"So what is going to happen now?" Fugaku asked the fox spirit.
"Well now we shall go to the Chunnin Exams." Kurama says with a smile.
A/N: I'm super sorry, you guys. I have not updated in months. I recently graduated High school and I had started college, so things had been hectic. Although this is no excuse since the chapter had been done. I was trying to catch up on the manga and I finally had when the last issue had came out. T_T. I had read it all and then I got depressed since well it the end of one of the major anime that moved me forward into the anime world. I will not give up on this story until the very end. I may never be consistent on the update but I will always update.
Well that aside how did you guys react to th ending of Naruto I was not suprised about the shippings (sorry NaruSaku shippers) but we all knew tha it was going to end this way. Even though you guys did not get your ships but I certainly got all the couples that I knew were going to end up together ( not chouji though). I may do a story about this in the later future or maybe a couple of drabbles even.
