The months flew by for Hermione as her schedule was taken up by work and the Malfoy men. Mornings were usually dedicated to her shift at St. Mungo's while the evenings were specially reserved for quality time with Draco and Scorpius. Their time together usually revolved around eating dinner and playing around with Scorpius while dodging kisses from Draco who couldn't wait for their alone time after Scorpius had been put to bed.

To say that Hermione Granger is happy is an understatement. She's more than happy, She's also content. And she hadn't felt this way for a long time. The last time she could remember this sort of peace settled into her was when she was a child. It was a simpler time back then. No Voldemort, No magic, nothing but her happiness and her family gathered around the fire as they waited for the clock's loud strike of midnight signaling Christmas. And the fact that Draco and Scorpius had taken her back to a better time could only mean that they are worth all the time and sacrifices in the world. Thank Merlin she was persuaded by Draco to stay in their lives a couple of months back, And now she couldn't even remember what her life used to be like before they came, frankly she didn't want to remember either.

Only two hurdles stood in their way,

Harry and Ron.

She had been putting off telling them about Draco and Scorpius for months, always chickening out whenever she was about to talk to them. Reasoning to herself that she had all the time in the world to inform them about her involvement with the Malfoys. When in truth, she was just scared shitless of how they would react to her news. She can just imagine the two of them subjecting Draco to heinous types of torture as they demand to know what kind of spell he had put Hermione under.

She just had to find the right time and place to tell the two of them, that's all. They're hardly boys anymore and surely they can act like adults and accept her decisions. She is always right after all. Hermione heaved a big sigh as she sunk down on one of the couches of the healers' lounge. She closed her eyes as she tried to block out the disturbing memories that came with treating the war survivors from the fifth floor.

The fifth floor of St. Mungo's was known as the survivors' floor. This was the place where wizards who are still healing from enchantments from the war are taken so the healers' can look at their ailments more closely. Most of the patients here suffer from trauma and psychological diseases brought about by the terrible war. Screams and horrible wailings is a permanent sound in the halls of the fifth floor and it takes a lot of willpower and courage just to walk through the rooms and not cringe at the patients' sadness and injuries. It had always stressed Hermione out whenever she was assigned to the fifth floor but at the same time she had this odd and strong commitment to healing them in the best way that she can. She had always had this feeling of being responsible for these people, Maybe because she was one of the key witches who had fought in the war or maybe just because she has a great deal of compassion inside her fragile frame. All the same, she had never passed up an opportunity to be charged in the fifth floor.

"Rough shift?" a deep voice startled Hermione from her relaxed position.

"Oh hey Adrian," Hermione muttered with a soft smile. "Had to do rounds at the survivors' floor but nothing too stressful."

"I know you hate hearing this but you really do work too much Hermione. I barely see you around here in the lounge anymore." Adrian admitted with a nervous chuckle as he quietly deposited his body beside Hermione on the couch.

Hermione could only laugh at Adrian's observation. Her absence in the healers' lounge wasn't really because of work; she's just been spending her breaks with Draco these days.

"Um...well…Since I don't really see you that much anymore, I was just wondering if you would want to maybe get dinner later?" Adrian all but whispered.

Hermione felt her lips open in shock, her mind still registering what Adrian asked her. She was still in the process of stringing her words together when a small voice interrupted her.

"My Healer Mione can't eat dinner with you! She eats dinner with me and father! Every day!"

Hermione's eyes snapped to Scorpius who was now standing beside her, holding his Dragon stuffed toy in one hand and clutching her knee with the other.

"That right Healer Mione?" Scorpius wheedled.

Hermione could only nod as Scorpius proceeded to climb onto her lap and snuggled into her curls.

"Oh...ah…well…" Adrian struggled for words.

"Ah! Adrian Pucey! What a delight to see you here. Haven't seen you and your parents in ages! Are they still busying themselves in Scotland doing Merlin knows what?" Draco's voice was dripping with sarcasm as he circled his arm around Hermione's shoulder in an unmistakable mark of ownership. His sharp silver eyes strike through Adrian's dull ones as he continued to stare down at the other man.

"Dr…Draco Malfoy, it's a delight as well." He stuttered.

Draco's smirk deepened as he watched Adrian's eyes dart from Scorpius hugging Hermione to his arm tightly coiled around her as well. He can almost see the dusty wheels in his head making sense of the picture they presented right in front of him.

Come on now Pucey, you can't be that daft. Draco thought amusedly.

Adrian cleared his throat,

"I..uh..well, Hermione I best be getting off now, I think I heard Healer Daley asking for help in the burn ward. Would you excuse me." With a small apologetic smile to Hermione and a curt nod to Draco, Adrian all but ran to the exit of the healers' lounge, his healer robes flapping as he exits in a hurry. Draco gave out a deep chuckle, he still has it, he thought to himself. His chuckle however seemed to have doused Hermione out of her state of shock.

"Really Draco, did you have to scare the poor guy?" she asked him while rubbing Scorpius' back in smoothing circles.

Draco let out an un – Malfoyish snort, "He was overstepping his boundaries, Hermione. You can't expect me to just stand here while he puts the moves on my Healer Mione." Draco smirked as Hermione blushed at his possessive use of her name.

"Healer Mione is MY Healer Mione! Not your Healer Mione! Silly father." Scorpius interjected as he finally came out of Hermione's embrace.

"She's OUR Healer Mione, how about that huh buddy?"

Scorpius seemed to think about it for a while before nodding his head and going back to hugging Hermione.

"Hear that Healer Mione? We, Malfoy men are staking our claim. You're ours now in the same way that we are yours as well." Draco leaned down to whisper to Hermione's ear as he took her chin and planted a slow kiss on her still slightly parted lips. The kiss ended a bit too soon as they both felt Scorpius wiggling around, impatient to play with Hermione. For sure he was going to give Hermione a rundown of his day, not wanting his Healer Mione to miss anything he did in the new magical preschool he was attending. And sure enough, Scorpius was already talking in what seemed like a million miles a minute even before Hermione had set him down on the floor.

"We maked a drawing and we put it on the wall and my drawing was a dragon and it was moving! And I was riding my dragon and I'll show it to you when it's ready Healer Mione!" Scorpius prattled on as he took hold of Hermione's left hand while they headed to the floo network of the healers' lounge. Draco positioned himself at his usual place which is right beside Hermione as he all but mirrored Scorpius' gesture and took hold of Hermione's right hand, intertwining his calloused fingers with her soft ones.

"You better tell me if Pucey makes any more unwelcomed advances." He whispered to Hermione.

"Threatened are we?" Hermione replied with a smirk.

Draco squeezed her hand tightly as he whispered back, "I have no trouble protecting what's mine."

"It's not like I would ever say yes to him, Draco. I have you and Scorpius now and I'm perfectly happy." Hermione whispered as she gave Draco's lower lip a quick bite.

With a firm shout of "Malfor Manor!" Hermione and Scorpius' hugging figures quickly faded in a blur of green flames, leaving Draco all alone at the side of the fireplace still nursing his bruised lower lip with a smirk.

Dinner at Malfoy Manor became quite a jolly affair as Hermione, Draco and Scorpius had made a tradition of eating on the kitchen counter instead of the long dreary table at the dining room.

"It's too big for just three persons Draco, how in Merlin's beard do you expect us to communicate properly if we eat there?" Hermione had asked Draco one night as they were setting up the table for dinner.

Of course, Hermione was right. She is after all the 'brightest witch of her age'. So without a second thought, Draco threw away his rubbish tradition of sitting at the head of the long table, replacing it with a better one of sitting with Hermione and his son on the tall stools around the kitchen counter as they goofed around and told each other about their day. Scorpius, especially found this change very delightful as he can now eat like a normal child without keeping in mind his pureblood table etiquette. Scorpius' dirty cheeks and improper use of utensils almost gave Draco a heart attack as he watched his son assault the mash potatoes with his bare hands during the first few days of their new dinner tradition.

"He's just a child, Draco. He has plenty of time to learn how to use his utensils properly." Hermione assured him lovingly with a small kiss on his cheek. He could only nod as he watched Scorpius have the time of his life while playing with his food. A few minutes later, Hermione was beside Scorpius, teaching him how to properly hold his plastic knife and fork while dabbing a clean towel across his mash potato stained cheeks.

Tonight wasn't an exception to their new found routine. He watched as Hermione went straight to rummaging the huge cupboards while Scorpius waited beside her, ready to help in setting the table. He took his usual seat beside Hermione's chair and waited for the two of them to finish counseling about which plates they should use tonight as he cleaned the counter with a simple flick of his wand. In the end, Scorpius chose his favorite magically painted dragon plate while Hermione got them the Malfoys' usual green china. When all of them were situated and comfortable, the kitchen counter overflowed with all kinds of dishes right before their very eyes. This didn't seem to faze Scorpius in the very least as he quickly pounced at the roast beef placed in front of him. Draco heard Hermione gave out a small giggle as they both watched Scorpius tackle his dinner with fervor.

"You know I can imagine you as a little boy whenever I see him. I can just picture you holding your green little knife and fork and your pristine little bib, without all the mess of course. We wouldn't want precious little Draco's robes to be soiled!" She whispered.

Draco smiled, her image was quite accurate.

"My knife and fork weren't green, they were silver." He whispered back.

Hermione only giggled some more as they both went back to enjoying their meal.

"Have you thanked Donny and the other house elves for the wonderful meal they've prepared for us, Scorpius?" Hermione asked.

Scorpius, who was on his way to his bedroom, quickly turned around and went down a few steps of the large staircase.

"Thanks Donny and Pippy and and and everyone! Healer Mione, you read to me now?"

"You go and get ready and I'll be right there with you in a few minutes, Dragon." Hermione reassured Scorpius.

Hermione then turned to Draco who was still eating a muffin, "How about you Draco? Have you thanked the house elves for their service?"

Draco almost dropped his muffin as he surveyed Hermione's critical gaze.

"Hmm…It seemed like I have yet to thank them Healer Mione, thank you for reminding me."

Slinging his arm around Hermione's waist, he faced the house elves.

"That was such a wonderful meal you prepared for us, we are very thankful of your services. I believe you may now take the rest of the night off. Although, I would appreciate it if you would keep an eye out for Scorpius within the night. If of course it wouldn't be a bother for you."

"I do that for master!" Donny quickly replied.

"I do that for master too!" Pippy resonated.

"Wonderful! I trust that you will both convey our thanks to the other house elves. You may retire for the evening."

After giving them both deep bows, the two house elves disappeared with a large crack.

"I guess it's just you and me now." Draco leered, tightening his hold on Hermione's waist as he leaned down to capture her lips. Hermione skillfully dodged his wandering lips with a small tip of her head, his lips only finding her cheeks instead of her lips.

"I still have to read to your son." She said with a smile.

Draco let out a groan.

"Fine." he replied while taking her hand in his as they made their way to Scorpius' room.

"You better not read him one of those long boring stories you brought with you the other night."

Hermione gave his shoulder a small slap with her free hand.

"Those stories are not boring! They actually have well developed plots that will stimulate Scorpius' ability to – mmmm!" Hermione was rudely cut short by Draco's kiss.

"Always effective in shutting you up." Draco mused.

Hermione's attempt of a glare was only betrayed by the huge smile on her lips as she offhandedly wished that things would just stay the same forever and nothing would penetrate their little bubble of happiness.

Oh Hermione, how I wish the same thing.
