Ch.2: The promise
Gaara uncle walked into the room the red head went into panic mood. He looked to Sakura only to see she was not there 'where did she go?' he thought worriedly.
But he didn't get to think on it long when his uncle finely spoke "Gaara I am going to see your father okay".
Gaara just nodded his head "alright" he said happy that the blond man didn't talk about before…or at least that is what he thought.
Yashamaru turned to the door but then stopped and looked back at Gaara "what did you have under your top".
Gaara eyes widened he looked around for something he spotted something he could use "ah it was my teddy bear" he lied.
Yashamaru looked like he didn't believe it at first "why would you put your teddy under your top?" he asked.
The red head boy's face turned pale but then he covered it up quick "he was cold".
The older male raised an eyebrow at this but shrugged it off "okay" he then made his way to the door "well I am going Gaara stay out of trouble" he left the room with one last angry thought 'I hope you die you monster'.
When his uncle left the room Gaara looked back on his bed to see Sakura was sitting there licking her paw Gaaea blinked in shock "h-how did you get there that fast Sakura?" she only meowed at him and sat on his lap. Gaara just sighed and rubbed behind her era "you're such a strange kitten" he giggled.
Gaara decided to take a walk with Sakura following alongside him she refused to leave his side. Gaara sat at his usual swing staring straight at the kids who were playing away from him Sakura sat at the edge of his foot. Gaara could not help the sadness that surrounded his heart looking at the kids before him but he felt a tug on the bottom of his pants he looked down to Sakura who was looking at him with her jade eyes she looked like she was saying 'don't be sad'. Gaara smiled but it was cut off when the ball was kicked and landed near his feet Gaara looked up to see the children who were looking at him terrified.
"Dame go get it Jin" the girl whispered to the boy near her.
The boy frowned "no way am I doing it" he then looked to his friends "let's get out of here before the monster attacks us like he did to May" they all ran away from Gaara.
Gaara eyes began to water but he stopped when he saw Sakura jump on the ball making the ball roll closer to him she also fell off the ball landing cutely before him. But she didn't stop there she got back up and pushed the ball towards him with her nose. Gaara blinked in shock "y-you want to play?" he asked Sakura just meowed as if saying 'yes'.
Gaara shocked expression changed to one of happiness "okay" Gaara stood up Sakura ran to the goal post. Gaara found Sakura game face adorable she leant forward and had her butt in the air her little tail wiggling back and forth. Gaara planned to kick the ball lightly but accidently he kicked it too hard Gaara panicked thinking he was going to hart Sakura he tried to stop it with his sand. But what Sakura did next shocked him she catches the ball with her entire body Gaara could have sworn she glowed pink but shook it off.
He ran to Sakura only to see she was perfectly fine meowed up at him happily Gaara looked down at his pink kitten in awe. He then smirked and ruffled the kitten fur "your amazing Sakura" she just meowed at him. Gaara continued to play with Sakura through the day. After an hour of playing Gaara decided to go to the Kazekage roof to look at the sunset with Sakura who was now perched on his shoulder.
Gaara ignored the looks he was getting he could also hear people saying things like 'what on earth is that thing on his shoulder' and 'ha it looks like the freak had to find an equally freaky pet for himself',
Gaara sighed and felt Sakura lick his cheek making him giggle a little "thank you Sakura" Gaara smiled at the pink kitty. Gaara court something at the corner of his eye. He looked to see a red bow collar with a silver bell on it he looked to Sakura "what do you think Sakura?" she looked at it closely then meowed and pawed for it as if saying 'I want it' Gaara chuckled.
Gaara walked the shop making the man behind the counter panic "ah h-how ca-can I help y-you?" he asked scared.
Gaara just smiled at him "I want that" he pointed to the red collar.
The man ran straight for the collar wanting to get rid of the demon fast. He placed it on the counter "t-there you g-go".
Gaara nodded "how much?" he asked.
The man shook his head sweat trickling down his face "n-nothing".
Gaara frowned "but I should pay you?" he said the man backed away from the counter making Gaara frown deepen.
The male just gulped "no j-just take i-it and leave" he stuttered out.
Gaara sighed, took the collar and made to leave Sakura hissed at the man for making Gaara upset the man jumped back in shock swearing that the kitten's emerald eyes glowed. Gaara was sat on the roof and was putting the red bow around Sakura neck Gaara pulled away to look down at Sakura "you look so cute Sakura" Gaara looked at Sakura closely 'did…did she just blush?' he thought but shook it off and stared at the moon the sun had long since gone down now.
"You know Sakura I am happy I found you" he said to the kitten who merely pawed at him so he could rub her era which he did. Gaara continued to rub Sakura era but Sakura tensed up and hissed feeling something behind them Gaara also felt it too. Gaara sand reacted fast protecting him and Sakura from being hit by the rain of kunai. The sand slowly fell away to see a man before him but not just any man "Y- Yashamaru?" he spoke in shock.
The blond just glared at him "Gaara" he growled.
Gaara felt tears in his eyes "wh-why?" he asked.
Yashamaru glare hardened "because you killed my sister you monster" he spat at him.
Gaara eyes widened but was shocked when Sakura ran at his uncle ready to claw him but the older male hit her out of the way making her smack into a wall "Sakura!" he screamed at the knocked out kitten. Gaara ran to his kitten and kneeled down at her. Gaara saw blood staining her fur Gaara turned his angry eyes at his uncle "you hart her" he growled.
Yashamaru smirked "oh did I hart your stupid pet".
Gaara tears came worse "I thought you loved me?".
The male laughed heartlessly "ha I never loved you, your mother never loved you and nobody loves you Gaara" .
At those words Gaara snapped, his sand rushing at Yashamrun knocking the male down breaking a lot of his bones. Gaara gripped his hair pulling at it tears streaming down his face "wh-why?" he whispered but then screamed "why?!" he yelled with that Gaara sand rushed at his forehead carving the kanji word for love. After it was done Gaara raised his head slowly to his dying uncle.
Yashamaru looked up at him smug look on his face "your father gave me the mission to kill you myself I could of refused it but I didn't".
Gaara looked at him in shock "you accepted it?".
The blond male laughed then coughed up blood "yeah for what you did to my sister you demon" he then pulled open his top to see exploding tags "die you monster!" he yelled.
Gaara eyes widened just as the bombs went off Gaara opened his eyes excepting to see his sand blocking his from the explosions. But was shocked to see a girl about his age in a white dress, standing before him, with long pink hair and with her back to him. What also got him was the pink force field around him and her.
Gaara blinked as the shield slowly wilted away the girl slowly turned to him "Gaara are you okay?".
Gaara looked at her he then recognized the culler around her neck, the black eras and tail "Sa-Sakura?".
"Ha I know they was more to that kitten" the demon said smugly
She smirked at him and winked "the one and only".
Gaara slowly touched her face "you're human?"
She laughed "well half human".
Gaara titled his head to the side "why didn't you tell me?".
She looked sad "I was scared on what you will think of me".
Gaara smiled "Sakura your my best f-" Gaara stopped there 'what if she doesn't think of me as a friend? Maybe uncle was right?.
Sakura knew what was going through his head she placed a hand on his cheek "you're my friend Gaara no matter what your stupid uncle says" she then licked his blood from the scar making Gaara blush.
Gaara looked at the smirking Sakura who pulled away from her licking "yo-your my best friend too Sakura" his face turning even redder.
Sakura smiled and hugged him "I will protect you Gaara no matter what I promise" she whispered in his era.
