Hi all! I know it has been a while since I updated and I am so sorry! Uni kicked my ass pretty hard this semester and I am having really awful luck looking for internships at the moment. But don't worry! I'm back with an update! I hope you guys love this one and I am so sorry it took me so long to finish this chapter. I promise another update in the next month or so since it is now my summer vacation and I have nothing else to do!
Read and drop a review! I would love to hear what you guys think!
What was supposed to be a lazy Sunday morning for Draco was interrupted by a chorus of annoying girly screams. He groggily reached out his hand to the other side of the bed to draw Hermione to him when he was surprised to find the other half of the bed empty and cold. He could only groan as more girly giggles were heard from the outside, coming from one of the gazebos down below. He took hold of one of the pillows scattered around the massive bed and covered his head with it, hoping to drown out the noise and squeeze in more sleep.
It seemed like only a few seconds of peace had passed when Draco was woken up again by even louder giggles, this time it was accompanied by Scorpius' shouts of glee.
"Hermione?" he murmured, still hoping that Hermione was actually beside him after all despite the girly giggles that undoubtedly belonged to her and the girl weasel. He roughly scrubbed his face with both his hands and sat up with his back against the huge head board of their massive bed, willing the sleepiness out of his system so he could go and steal Hermione away from the she weasel.
Jeany the weasel had been coming over more and more frequently to the manor this past week and Draco was starting to get suspicious. Everytime he would go ahead and ask Hermione about it, she would just laugh and give him a kiss, telling him to stop worrying about it and that it was all girl talk anyway and he wouldn't understand. Draco of course, the paranoid bastard that he is, had been trying to get the answer out of Hermione for weeks now and is still coming up with nothing. He tried bribing, tickling, and even pouting but nothing seems to work with Hermione. This time, however, he was using a new approach. He was going to ask Scorpius to spy on the women and report back to him what ever it was that they are doing.
Draco breezed through his morning routine in a surprisingly quick manner which surprised him, considering that it normally takes him about an hour on an ordinary day. Granted of course that Hermione was there in the bathroom with him "helping" him get ready. He threw on a grey polo shirt that Hermione seems to love on him for some reason and paired it with one of his light shorts to surrender himself for another hot day of waiting outside for Hermione and the she weasel to be done with their girly talk. With one last pat on his pockets, he was ready to go.
He was just about to cross the huge doors leading to the garden when Scorpius came barreling towards him with a huge smile on his face.
"Daddy you're awake! you're awake! Auntie Ginny is here again! She gave me loopy luke lollies! See!"
Draco only smiled and let Scorpius ramble off with a mouth full of magic lollies.
"Where's mummy?" he finally asked.
Scorpius only pointed towards the doors leading to the garden, too enamoured with opening a new packet of chocolate frog to really care about his father. Draco only snickered as he mussed his son's head, hauling him onto his arms to spy on the two girls outside.
"- oh! maybe it should have a really intricate lace detail around here, what do you think?"
"It won't look tacky, right?"
"Of course not! You can pull off anything!"
"And maybe some flowers?"
"Oh what the hell! Why not! I'm sure everyone would love to see me looking like a flower cannon just blasted on my face!"
The two girls laughed as they continued looking at piles of album looking books with lots of pictures.
"What are they doing?" Draco whispered to Scorpius who was kneeling beside him behind one of the massive rosh bushes scattered around the estate.
"Looking at pictures." Scorpius whispered back.
"What kind of pictu -"
Draco's reply was cut short as they both jumped at the sound of Hermione's voice. "Draco, what are you doing behind the rose bushes?" she asked with a hint of amusement.
Draco immediately straightened and dusted himself off, making his way to Hermione to give her cheek a kiss as if he wasn't just caught spying on his own girlfriend.
"Nothing, love just playing with our son."
Ginny let out a loud snort at his obvious lie, "Nice bush, Malfoy."
"Nice face, Jenny." he fired back.
Hermione only rolled her eyes at the exchange while she wiped Scorpius' chocolate stained mouth with a napkin.
"Are you looking at pictures, mummy?" Scorpius asked while climbing onto Hermione's lap.
Hermione nodded, "We're doing a bit of research!"
"Research? What's that?" Scorpius asked again with his head tilted a bit to the side.
"That's what you do when you want to learn more about something, love. You research."
"Oh!" Scorpius exclaimed excitedly. "That's what I was doing with daddy behind the flowers! We are doing research about what you are doing!"
Hermione's eyes narrowed at Draco whose hands were already up in a sign of surrender.
"I just wanted to know what my beautiful girlfriend is up to and why I didn't wake up to her angelic face this morning. For all I know, Jenny here was already seducing you!" Draco exclaimed while conjuring his own chair right beside Hermione's.
"For your information, Ferret face, I'm actually getting married in a couple of days!" Ginny bursted excitedly before immediately covering her mouth with her hands. "Oh! I wasn't supposed to tell you yet!" she glared at Draco.
"This is all your fault!" Ginny jokingly fumed at Hermione.
She only laughed and gave Draco's confused face a kiss on the cheek. "Well now you know what we're so busy talking about the last couple of days!"
Draco narrowed his eyes, "This is what has been making you spend less time with me?"
Hermione nodded with sparkling eyes, "Oh! isn't it just fabulous! Can you just imagine the flowers and the lace and all the wonderful stuff that comes with weddings! There will be so much love in the air!"
"I better bring a gas mask then." Draco whispered, earning a smack from Ginny who also had the same sparkle in her eyes.
"It's going to be the best wedding ever once I'm done planning it!" Hermione exclaimed.
Draco couldn't help but smile back at Hermione's big goofy grin before making himself comfortable on his chair. He was willing to go through hours of girl talk with the weasel as long as he was getting to spend some quality time with his girlfriend. He might even learn a few things while they're at it.
I'm sure Blaise could handle business by himself today. he thought to himself, putting his arm around Hermione who still had Scorpius on her lap. Hermione's small shift closer to his chair together with her excited voice and the light breeze only lulled Draco into a very relaxed state all throughout the day.
It was already 10 in the evening and Draco had finally wrestled their son into bed giving him and Hermione some much needed alone time with each other as they get ready for bed in their ridiculously large bathroom. Hermione, however, was not showing any sign of slowing down as she was still going on and on about the Potter wedding, talking Draco through the whole event and asking for his opinion on certain wedding related things which meant that Draco now has too much information about weddings than he ever wanted to have. Draco of course, being the a pussy whipped boyfriend, would answer any of her questions and nod tiredly whenever prompted.
"Oh! she's going to be so beautiful! I can already imagine her walking down the aisle with flowers in hand!"
"And of course Scorpius is going to be part of the wedding party! We have to show the world how cute and amazing our son is! We better pick cute dress robes for him! I'm so excited!"
"Ginny doesn't want lace on her dress which I think is blasphemous! Now if it were my wedding dress I would -"
Both Draco and Hermione abruptly stopped what they were doing upon Hermione's words. A moment of silence descended upon the two of them before Hermione started to talk rapidly in an effort to cover her blunder.
"And I , uh the uh, the drinks! yes the drinks! Harry wants muggle wine but I'm not sure what Ginny thinks of that! I don't think she's ever had muggle wine before." she laughed awkwardly, trying to cover her red face with more rants and an even louder voice.
Draco just continued to stare at Hermione as she nervously tapped her fingers on the marble sink. After a few more seconds, he finally went to her and embraced her from behind, with them facing the large mirror.
"your wedding dress huh." he playfully whispered.
"I never said that!" Hermione denied as she tried to escape Draco's embrace.
"Mhmm sure you didn't." Draco continued to tease while giving her neck small kisses.
"You were distracting me and I wasn't thinking!"
"I was all the way over there when you said it so I don't think you were being distracted by me at all." Draco smirked triumphantly.
"Yes but uh, you're shirtless! and you know how distracted I get when you don't put a shirt on!"
"You've never complained before." he countered.
Draco's smirk only widened as Hermione muttered an annoyed "whatever" while still trying to get away from him.
"Are you proposing to me, love?" Draco whispered with a small smile.
"No I wasn't!" Hermione shrieked. "I don't even know if you want to get married at all. I mean uh, I uh, I mean uh, we already have such a wonderful thing going on and I totally respect it if you don't want to get married. We don't have to! I uh I mean we love each other and that's all that matters right?" she finished in an exasperated tone.
Draco just chuckled and turned Hermione in his arms.
"I love you." He whispered before diving in for a kiss which soothed the tension off of Hermione's rigid body and calmed the both of them. Hermione was the first to break the kiss with a small smile and whispered a soft "I love you too" against his lips.
After a few more nibbles at her lips, he sent her on to the bedroom with a chuckle, "Be a good girl and wait for me on our bed" he winked.
Hermione only rolled her eyes but nonetheless scampered to the door.
"Don't forget to change into your green nightie! You know what that little scrap of fabric does to me."
"Well if you like them so much then maybe you should stop tearing them apart!" she giggled.
With another wink and small slap of her ass Hermione was already out the door, eager for the night's events.
Draco was still smiling when the door closed behind Hermione and unthinkingly reached inside the pocket of his flannel pajamas. His fingers immediately closed around the only thing in his pocket , the hard circular band bringing warmth to his heart. Without missing a beat, he brought the ring out of its hiding place and stared at it with a huge smile on his face. The large tear shaped diamond at the middle winked at him, showing up in the perfect mixture of blue and green that reminded him of the waters of Hawaii. The rose gold band and the outside of the huge diamond was heavily covered with smaller white diamonds that were very hard to miss. The ring is ostentatious and attention catching, not even the weasel would be able to miss the huge rock once it finds its place on Hermione's finger. He had decided to veer away from the usual cushion shaped diamond rings that he saw on his mother's finger usually and chose something that was new and something that seems more Hermione.
The craftsmanship of the ring was undeniably beautiful thanks to the mermaids of Hawaii who had perfectly shaped and blessed the diamonds. The rose gold band was melted by dragon fire and was also handcrafted by the best goblin jewellers money could buy. All it needs is one last trip to the jeweller's to be engraved and it would be ready to sit on Hermione's finger.
With one last look at the beautiful band, Draco placed the ring inside his pocket once again together with a soft muttered charm to keep it in place. He just couldn't risk leaving it around the house, knowing how thorough and curious Hermione can be. He patted his pocket a few times to ensure that the ring was firmly in place and made his way to their already dark bedroom.
Draco couldn't help but smile at the sight of a half dressed Hermione already asleep at the edge of their massive bed. There was still a lump of towel wrapped around her head and her green nightie was on backwards with one of the straps hanging loosely on her shoulder. With a small chuckle, he gently lifted Hermione and placed her limp body to her side of the bed, careful not to jostle her too much or wake her.
After unwrapping her head from the towel swirl that Hermione created and making sure that she was comfortable on their bed, Draco leaned down to press a gentle kiss on her forehead and decided to check on their son in the other room.
Draco poked his head inside Scorpius' room and was not at all surprised to see him still awake and playing with his moving quidditch figurines on the floor wearing his favourite Puddlemere United quidditch robes. He knew all those sweets Jenny brought was going to keep Scorpius up until about midnight thanks to his sugar high.
"Why did I have the feeling that you would still be up?"
Scorpius' head snapped in his direction and immediately tried to hide his toys behind his back.
"I wasn't playing!"
Draco chuckled, "Hmmm, playing, using magic, and now lying. Mummy wouldn't be happy with you right now."
Scorpius eyes widened at his words before bringing his head down and shuffling his feet. "I'm sorry, daddy."
Draco stepped into the room and made his way to Scorpius' bed, letting out a huge sigh upon hitting the soft mattress.
"How about we let this little incident slide and keep it a secret from mummy. What do you think?"
"Yes please!" Scorpius shrieked, dropping his toys on the floor and making a beeline for his father.
"I'll keep your secret if you keep mine. Do you think that's fair?" Draco asked as he hoisted Scorpius onto the bed with him.
Scorpius was silent for a moment, his cute face crumpled in concentration.
"I would like to think so." he finally answered.
"You would like to think so?" Draco repeated amusedly. "Mummy taught you that one didn't she?"
Scorpius nodded enthusiastically, making Draco laugh.
"Here's the secret, Dragon." he whispered conspiringly while taking out the ring once again from his pocket.
Scorpius' eyes widened at the sight of the twinkling diamonds. "Pretty!"
"Do you think mummy would like it?"
"Uhuh!" Scorpius all but screamed.
"Shhh, we don't want mummy to wake up and know our secret just yet!" Draco reminded him with a small shake of his head. "I'm going to propose to mummy."
"Porpose?" Scorpius asked with his brow furrowed.
"Propose," Draco corrected. "It means I'm going to ask mummy to marry me so she can be a part of our family forever."
"But mummy is already a part of our family forever! Why do you need to porpose?"
"Well that's true, but we want everyone to know that mummy is very important to us and that we love her so much that we want her around forever with us. When I propose, everyone would know how much we love her and no one will be able to take mummy away from us. Don't you want everyone to know that mummy is with us forever?"
Scorpius nodded his head in short bobbing motions, "Yes I want that."
"Well, there you go. All the more reason for me to propose to mummy and give her this pretty ring. And once I give it to her, it also means that I am giving her all my love and my whole heart forever."
"I want to give mummy my heart too!" Scorpius bounced on the bed excitedly.
"You want to give mummy a ring?" Draco asked incredulously.
"Yes! I will give her the biggstest ring ever and my heart and your heart! She will have the bestest gifts! Mummy deserves all the bestest gifts ever!"
Draco let out a small laugh, "Ok then, Dragon. One ring from you, another one from me. The only problem now is where we're going to be proposing to her. It has to be in a special place."
"i know where!" Scorpius scrambled on to Draco's lap and cupped his hands near his ear as if preventing anyone from hearing a secret.
Draco smiled as he listened to Scorpius' idea, "That's perfect."
Scorpius answering grin was blindingly huge and excited.
Now everything is in place and all he has to do was hurry the fuck up and finally make Hermione his forever.
