Foxe glared as Mousewhisker walked inside the nursery with a bird in his jaws. As he sat it down in front of her she growled at him. "You betrayed me," she whispered.

Mousewhisker looked away, his ears low beside his head. "You were going too far...Foxe..."

Foxe scowled at him. "You can't even call me by my real name!"

"Foxe is now your name and it will stay that way!" He hissed suddenly, making her flinch. "If you hadn't been the way you've been then this would've never happened!"

Foxe moves closer to him. "But I am right!"

"You were wrong!"

"They are changing us, Thunderclan is-"

"Perfectly fine the way it is," Mousewhisker growls. "I cannot fathom why you are so stuck on Thornclaw's words!"

Foxe wrinkled her nose at him and sat, her tail lashing furiously. "Because he was right. It all began with Pinestar who left the clan to be a kittypet, and then his deputy became leader and nominated Bluestar as deputy." She bore her fangs when Mousewhisker looked to object. "No, you will listen. She had kits with a Riverclan cat and brought a kittypet to the clan, who brought more kittypets. And now his daughter betrayed her clan by breaking the medicine cat law and mating a Windclan tom! Thunderclan has turned into nothing but a bunch of mangy law breaking mice!"

"And how does that have anything to do with the foreign cats? How did any of that tie in with almost killing Sakura?" Mousewhisker growled. His anger grew when Foxe looked away from him, her eyes blank and posture uncaring.

"You two were getting too close, I had to eliminate her."

Mousewhisker growled lowly and closed his eyes. Then the tom turned and walked away.

Foxe gasped and whimpered. "Mousewhisker wait!" The warrior stopped at the entrance. Foxe tilted her head, blue eyes pleading. "This, I mean I know all that has happened...I did this because I loved you and wanted what was best for us and our kits."

"You forgot the clan," Mousewhisker pressed.

Foxe shook her head. "Whatever. I still love you. We are still mates, right?"

Mousewhisker lowered his head, the tip of his tail twitching. A flick of his ear shooed away a fly that buzzed by it. "Yea," he mewed quietly and walked out.

Foxe watched him with wide angry eyes. That had not sounded like the answer she was hoping to hear. 'She should've died!' She thought with a snarl. 'Why couldn't she die?!' In rage she slashed down at the bird she was given, then she ate it angrily. Her ears flicked as she heard Sakura talking and looked up to see her speaking with Mousewhisker. With Raven behind her she led the upset grey and white tom outside the clan.

Foxe nearly screeched; this couldn't be happening! 'Fine,' she thought nastily. 'You brought this on yourself, Mousewhisker.' She was now eating the bird more calmly, a thought running circles in her mind. How was she going to present his kits? What was she going to do with them? 'Nothing,' she thought finally. A crazy grin grew on her face.

"The deed is already done, let it all happen naturally," she hummed happily, though it was false happiness. It would hurt her, but it would hurt him more.

The kits had to go.

~ooo~

Mousewhisker sighed as he walked back into the clan. He had told Sakura what happened and what was said in his and Foxe's conversation. To his utter delight and pleasure Sakura cuddled close to him and lightened his mood with funny stories of her and her family's journey to the clan, not that he was paying attention anyway. He was more focused on watching her eyes light up she described how Ocean fell in a mud hole, or how Cherry ran away from a mob of angry birds.

His mood soured however when they entered the camp and Lionblaze quickly called for Sakura and led her to the warriors den. His blue eyes lit up in what he denied to be jealousy as they left out of the den laughing. They then sat down and ate together.

Mousewhisker growled under his breath and walked their way, bypassing them and picking out prey to eat. He then sat a ways away from them, just far enough to eavesdrop. Beside him say Longclaw and Mudfur. Mousewhisker watched them closely as they chatted and chuckled and he twitched as Lionblaze casually laid his tail across her back. He narrowed his eyes and looked away, missing the twinkling eyes of his adversary.

~ooo~

Lionblaze knew Mousewhisker was watching them, which was why he sat close to Sakura and put his tail on her back. Sakura wasn't blind in the transaction; she gave him a look and a nod. Lionblaze blinked in response and the two continued eating and chatting.

After they were done Raven walked over to them and pulled Sakura away, Bramblestar had called for her to go on hunting patrol. Lionblaze took three other cats with him on patrolling the Riverclan borders. He sent Molepelt, Ravenheart, Brightheart and Icecloud on patrolling the Windclan borders, watching as Icecloud sighed in relief in having something else to do other than watching grumpy queens.

As Lionblaze patrolled he thought about their plan. His part was in motion; now that Sakura had Mousewhisker hooked he had to act as an...obstacle. Though he didn't feel good in taking another tom's crush, Mousewhisker had taken Cinderheart.

'Then again I don't want her, not now anyway,' he thought as he scented the border. He was sure if Cinderheart hadn't been around Thornclaw their kits would've already, or almost, been paws already. 'And now she is called Foxe,' he thought sadly. He thought it sad that she had to be such a deep follower in the other tom. He hoped Whitethunder and Cherry brought Thornclaw back to the clans; he wanted to give the tom a piece of his mind himself.

'But that is past,' he sighed. The more evil Cinderheart got the more interest he began to lose, until he lost total interest in her and more into someone else.

Someone else.

Leafpool wasn't lying when she said he would find someone else.

Lionblaze stared across the river as he stopped walking. He had only come to terms with the fact that he might have started crushing on Sakura only a half moon ago. Now he was sure he was crushing on the she cat, he knew it the instant Raven cornered him and told him how he glared at Mousewhisker when he was around her. He was sure Leafpool and Autumnspot were giving him weird looks, mischievous looks. No telling what those two cats were thinking.

The thing was, Lionblaze was unsure. What if it turned out to be another thing like Foxe? What if she fell for another tom, or if she really started to like Mousewhisker. 'Mouse dung,' his mind hissed. He was thinking too much. Besides, Sakura would never fall for Mousewhisker, she was the one who make the plan against him!

"Hey Lionblaze, you OK?" Ravenheart asked as he stopped beside the other.

Lionblaze looked at him and nodded. "I'm fine," he mewed. He took that moment to look over Ravenheart. He was one of his grandfather's friends; the one who had ran away. It made him a bit happy that at least someone from Firestar's time was alive, even though the tom was old.

'He should be retiring to the elders den soon.'

It was true. He already heard talk of Barley wanting to go to the elders den. Ravenheart didn't look that far behind.

"You sure?" Ravenheart asked as he tilted his head. "You've been a bit different every since Mousewhisker," -Lionblaze's tail twitches in annoyance at the very name-, "has started to openly make moves against Sakura."

"I'm fine," he assured. First Raven, then Leafpool and Autumnspot, now Ravenheart? Who else were making such inquiries?

"You know, if you like Sakura you can just say it," Ravenheart goads as the two start walking again. Molepelt and Brightheart were ahead of them.

Lionblaze sputters and shakes his head. "I don't like her...that way," Lionblaze denies.

Ravenheart chuckled and shook his head. "You are lying."

"What? How do you know I'm lying?" Lionblaze demands.

Ravenheart gives him a look with an odd twinkle in his eyes. "You are Firestar's kin, you act like him, whether you notice or not. Well, not completely, but you catch my drift." Lionblaze looked ahead; he knew it was worthless to deny it, so he gave in with a defeated sigh. "You know, if you like her then go for it. Any competition has to know that they aren't the only one going for the same she cat. If I've heard correctly, that's how it was between Bramblestar, Squirrelflight and Ashfur." Ravenheart laid his tail lightly on the ginger's shoulders. "Then again I don't have a mate, so I don't know. Just do your best."

Lionblaze nodded his head at the black tom. "Ok, thanks," he muttered. It made sense when Ravenheart said it; it made a lot of sense.

They returned from patrolling, and to Lionblaze's utter horror Mousewhisker was talking to Sakura. A part in both his chest and mind twinged, and he had to resist the urge to bare his fangs. Ravenheart walked by him, took a look at the two cats and then gave him a look.

Lionblaze flicked both of his ears. "Go for it huh," he muttered to himself. His tail curled as he finally made his decision. He would pursue Sakura like it was originally planned in their plan, only his pursuit would be real.

'Plus Sakura won't ever like Mousewhisker. A shady advantage, but who cares?'

With the thought in mind he casually walked through the camp, confident and giddy. He talked to some cats and lazed around in sunspots. Then, to his complete amusement and Mousewhisker's complete horror, he somehow stole Sakura and both of them were talking again.

Lionblaze watches as Sakura leaves at the end of sunset to go and lie with Autumnspot and Raven and the other foreign warriors to sleep, meowing a silent good night to her, which was returned with a smile, then he stretched his body. He felt a pair of eyes on him and turned with a knowing look. Mousewhisker was watching him with icy blue eyes in front of the warriors den.

Lionblaze walked towards him like he owned the very den he slept in. He paused in front of the tom and looked him over. "Is there a reason you are watching me so intensely?" He questions.

Mousewhisker narrows his eyes. "Why are you hanging around Sakura so much?"

"Whatever do you mean?" He answered with a tilt of his head, a bright gleam in his eyes.

Mousewhisker growls. "Stop playing around Lionblaze, I know what you are up to!" He hisses quietly. Lionblaze simply flicks an ear at his sudden aggressiveness.

"You may know what I am up to, but does Foxe know what you are up to?" He throws back quietly, his voice stretching as he mews the new name of the other's mate. Mousewhisker froze with wide eyes. Lionblaze saunters past him.

"You have no chance," the ginger hisses as he enters the den and into his own nest. As he lies down he thought that that seemed rather arrogant of him, but then again it was part of the plan. 'My plan,' he thought with a purr.

Mousewhisker stayed at the mouth of the den for a while before he too went to bed. Lionblaze know that he wasn't standing there because of shock; he saw the raw anger in his eyes, the challenge. The deputy smirked in his sleep. Let the battle begin.
