I stared down at the water gathered below my feet for a moment longer before looking to Dimitri. He grabbed my hand and we raced to the car, heading straight for the hospital. My mother and father quickly climbed in the back.
We drove for about 10 minutes when I felt sharp pain in my lower abdomen and screamed "Fuck!" I felt tears run down my cheek.
"Rose, honey, it's going to be ok. We'll be at the hospital in just a little while and…" my mother was trying to comfort me and I could hear my father's bitching at Dimitri, something about not getting a ticket while we were in his car.
"Fuck the ticket and get me to the fucking hospital!" I screamed and put one of my hands on my stomach while the other clenched my mother's hand.
I closed my eyes in pain and soon enough, the car jerked to a halt and I slammed open the door to the car and climbed out. Dimitri's strong arms were around me instantly, keeping me steady and holding me up as well.
I looked up to see Lissa and Christian running right at us. "Thank God you're safe. Come on they've got the room ready but I don't think they are going to have time for the epidural."
I growled and glared at her. "Fuck what the doctor's think. I need something!" she simply smiled and Christian rolled his eyes. If I wasn't hurting so bad I would knock them back in place, but at the moment it was time for this kid to get the fuck out!"

We were in the delivery room now and were watching Rose try not to strangle the doctor who was trying to comfort her. She'd said that she was too far for the epidural but not far enough to deliver, which had only made Rose that much more hostile.
"Fuck you, you stupid bitch. I need something now!" she grabbed my hand and squeezed as another contraction hit. Abe and Christian waited outside while Janine, Lissa, and I stayed in here. For support and, hopefully, to keep her from killing the doctor.
"Rose, you need to concentrate on your breathing until the doctor says…" Janine's calm façade never faltered.
"Fuck my breathing! Just get it out!" she cried and I hated how much pain she was in, but her stress wasn't going to help.
I looked to Lissa and asked "Would using spirit help any?" Lissa shrugged and was about to say something when the doctor walked in.
"It's time." Lissa and Janine stood behind her while I stayed beside her, letting her hold my hand as she pushed. And after a few minutes, we heard crying.

There was no way to mistake it. The loud screaming of a newborn baby filled the room and our child announced his or her arrival.
I felt lips press to mine and I kissed Dimitri back with as much energy as I had and before I knew it, I was asleep.
I woke up to the sound of a soft cry and cooing. I opened my eyes and saw Lissa, Christian, Abe, and my mother surrounding Dimitri. "Is everything ok?" they all looked up at me and I propped up on my elbows.
"Everything's perfect, Rose." Lissa answered and walked over to my bed, to sit in the chair next to me. I turned and saw Dimitri. His face was lit with a heart stopping smile and I moved over a little in the bed to make room for him.
He gently sat down next to me, careful not to crowd me, before putting the baby in my arms. The blue blanket was soft against my skin and I stared into warm brown eyes. "Hey." I felt a tear slide down my cheek as the baby softly cooed and reached out to grab my finger. His little hand held onto my finger as I looked at him.
"He's so beautiful." I looked up a little further to see a head of black hair and I felt like my heart would beat out of my chest.
"Yes, he's perfect." Dimitri kissed my cheek lightly and I smiled.
"We did good." I told him and he laughed softly.
I heard someone snort and looked up to my parents. "He's half Hathaway and Mazur. Of course he's got out good looks." Abe grinned and I glared at him for a moment before my mom smacked him.
"I can see Dimitri in the eyes." she said as Abe rubbed his arm.
"Which means he'll probably have the Hathaway death glare." Christian smirked at me.
Lissa smiled and turned to me. "He's beautiful." She stopped for a minute before asking "What's his name?"
I smiled at Dimitri before answering her. "Alexander. Alexander Mason Belikov." He smiled before leaning in to kiss me again.
"I love you." He whispered, letting his head rest on against mine so he could stared down at the baby.
"I love you." I smiled softly. I looked around to all of the people I loved and realized that my life, though difficult was completely perfect. Well, almost.
