Hello, I'm to lazy to do reviews. There were so many, and now i have 20+ reviews and 700+ views. I flipped out when i saw the numbers.

Chapter 4, Amberpaw's POV

I couldn't get the patrol off of my mind.

I ran scenario after scenario in my head, preparing for what to do if Cloverpaw did anything.

I walked around, giving nervous smiles to my clanmates.

I dreaded the moment i saw Grayflower walking over to me.

My eyes widened when i saw Troutstep and a sneering Cloverpaw following her.

"Ready to go?" Grayflower asked cheerfully, oblivious to my fear.

"Yeah...sure." I mew shakily.

I then continued to follow the two mentors out of camp.

Cloverpaw bumped up next to me, making me jump.

She had pasted a fake cheerful face on and now talked like a giddy kit.

"I am SO excited we get to go hunting together! I have waited for this moment forever." She piped.

I caught her sneer at the end of her message.

The words she said were true, but for the wrong reasons.

I took a shaking breath and busied myself by staring at my paws.

Too quickly, we arrived at the river.

"Troutstep and I will farther downstream if you need anything, we expect you to catch fish. not play." Grayflower mewed, turning away to walk away with Troutstep.

My sliver of hope was smashed.

The mentors were leaving, no cat was around to watch Cloverpaw.

Once the mentors were out of sight, Cloverpaw whipped around, a sinister smile on her face.

It's started.

"Long time no see." She sneered.

"I see you everyday." I mewed, egging her on.

I learned a while ago this made it be over quicker.

"Don't be smart with me, i was talking for my claws." She snarled.

I almost flinched, remembering my already many scars, in a flurry across my flank, cleverly hidden by my fluffy hair.

I remember almost telling some cat, but i never did, for who would believe me if i said their precious Cloverpaw hurt me.

She leaped forward, i didn't react, i knew if i fought back, it would be more painful.

I kept a straight face, hopefully she will get bored soon.

I know Grayflower and Troutstep will get back soon, and if we don't catch any fish, it's hello elder's bedding for us.

She's stopped taunting me, simply mewing "You better catch some fish."

I quickly lapped up the blood, and smoothed my fur over the new cuts.

I hobbled over to the river and sat.

I flashed my paw occasionally, only twice catching a fish.

Cloverpaw looked over the catch, selecting the larger fish.

I picked up the smaller fish as Grayflower and Troutsteo emerged from the underbrush.

"That's all you caught?" Grayflower mewed immediately.

I hesitated, then nodded, best not anger Cloverpaw, or have the chance at an extra painful awakening.

We started walking back to camp, when i got a thorn in my paw.

I called out that i would be a while, and sat down to work on the thorn.

As i wiggled the thorn out, i heard a rustling in the leaves.

Just a bird or something i thought.

"Ouch!" I exclaimed as the painful thorn left my paw.

I licked the blood of my paw and looked up when i heard the rustling again.

I saw two green cat-like eyes peering down at me.

"Oh!" I mewed, so it was a cat.

And they were following me.

I dropped the thorn and quickly picked up my catch.

I ran, well, as fast as i can run with a twisted leg, back to camp.

Panting, i dropped the fish on the fresh-kill pile.

I looked around, to see if the cat followed me in camp, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

I sat down on the edge of the clearing to groom myself after my terrifying run.

Once i looked like i had not tumbled through a thorn bush, i saw some cat sit down next to me.

I winced when i saw the silver and white pelt.

"Hello Cloverpaw." I sighed.

"Troutstep just got done congratulating me on my catch, i was pretty amazing, wasn't it?" She bragged.

Even though i caught it. I thought, but ended up saying "Yes, it was good."

"It wasn't just good, i think i am the best at hunting out of all the apprentices!" She piped.

I had had enough.

Keeping my calm composure, i suddenly got up aand walked away.

I then continued until i was under an overhanging willow tree.

With the calming, slender branches of the willow brushing my fur, i exhaled deeply, hoping my troubles were over for the day.
