Ch 69

Ellen was sitting in the bathroom thinking carefully. The whole afternoon with Alice brought her back to reality. What does this all mean? Does it mean that her relationship with Carlisle is over? She was not able to think clearly. She had all this mixing up in her mind. The confusion prevailed. She was really worried. Finally, she found the man she loved above everything and now she would lose him to his ex? No..no…no ….no …no….What would she do without him? A voice in her hear said aloud: "Ellen, wake up sweetheart….you are smart, beautiful woman….you would take care of your kids and concentrate on them…." She knew that the voice was right, but still. The thought of losing him hurt her more than anything. She felt as if her heart had parted into two pieces. She didn't want to think about that, but the truth is she cannot take it all so easy. Alice sees the future, Ellen believed that. She just wanted to warn her. She went back to the living room where Patty was talking to Bella about all the new clothes that her mum and Alice chose for her. She was so excited about that. Edward was suddenly standing in the door next to her watching her closely. "He must have been listening to everything I was just thinking about" she thought. Edward smiled and she knew she was right. She went to prepare a meal for her daughter and when they both finished, Patty went to bed. Ellen was sitting at her side watching her sleeping and caressing her hair. When Patty was asleep, Ellen headed downstairs again and picked up her car keys. Nobody was present and she was glad. At least she didn´t have to explain anything. She was driving around the town and after an hour she stopped in front of the hospital. She knew that Carlisle was taking the night shift at the ER, he texted her earlier that day. She wanted to surprise him. She entered the main reception and planned to ask the lady to make a call to her fiancée. When she was opening the door, she gasped. On the opposite side of the corridor she could see Esme talking to Carlisle. He didn't seem to be bothered by her company, infact he was exactly the opposite. He seemed to be enjoying it as much as she was. Ellen just stood there with tears in her eyes and turned around immediately. She couldn't bear it. It hit her and with everything she learned from Alice it finally made sense. Now, she understood why Alice did that. She was walking back to her car, when two hands touched her gently from behind. And she knew that touch, she realised it is him. Carlisle. When she turned around she didn't count on the vampire´s ability of catching a person´s scent. He whispered tenderly, " Elly…". She tried to wipe the tears before she turned to him. He could see there was something wrong. He kissed her forehead,"Come in, Elly.I have a break". She replied, " I can see that. Esme just stopped by, right?". He watched her,"No, she just wanted to ask if you had problems with the fact that she returned to the house." Ellen added in her mind, " And to your life…." But aloud she didn't dare to say anything. She just shrugged, " As I said, it´s your house. And I don't have any right to say anything." He watched her with doubts but didn't say anything. He rethought these evening's events. Esme was talking to him for a few minutes when he felt the familiar scent. His chest jumped with happiness but then all he could see was just the back of Ellen´s coat. She left without any reason. What is going on with her? Maybe the pregnancy?

He hugged her tight, " Ellie, you know that I love you. You are my everything, sweetie." She sighed. It was so easy to be in his arms, feel the love coming from his words and breathe his perfume. She was just silently standing and enjoying the feeling. When she didn't reply, he invited her in the hospital. " Come with me to my office.I don't want you to catch a cold or something." They entered and he invited her into his office. He took off her coat and whispered, " Wait here." She sat down on the chair and he disappeared for a minute. After few moments, he was standing in front of her, handing her a cup of hot chocolate. She smiled, "Thank you, that´s exactly what I needed, to warm up." He whispered watching her cheeks, " I wish I could warm you myself." She caressed his hand, " Sorry, I didn't mean it, like that…..I just….." He smiled at her, " I know…." She smiled and blushed, " I believe there are moments when you make me warm even with your cold nature." He could see the color of her face and couldn´t help but return her smile. She was so adorable when she was blushing. He whispered," You are so beautiful," and couldn't help but kiss her tenderly on her chocolate lips. He finished the kiss. "You are my lovely chocolate princess.I wish I could taste it." They spent the rest of the break talking and exchanging romantic kisses when his page beeped. Carlisle replied, "Shit, I am sorry, Elly, I need to go. See you tomorrow, okay." She nodded and he suggested, " Would you like to go out with me tomorrow? We could go to some nice and cosy place." She whispered, " Sure," he kissed her temple, " Sweetie, I must leave, drive safe home and let me know when you get home." With those words, he waved and left Ellen standing at the reception.

Ellen left the hospital and headed to the Cullen house. Now, with Esme here, it´s much harder to feel at home here. She feels like an alien here. Ellen hoped this would improve but she wasn't so sure. She wasn't sure about the outcome of this all. She entered and could see the boys talking downstairs. She didn't want to disturb them, and so she just disappeared in her bedroom.

In the morning, she was woken up by Carlisle. He was laying behind her kissing gently her neck and removing the thin lace of her nightshirt. When he began kissing her shoulder, Ellen began shivering. She felt like in a dream. He could feel she was awake and whispered, " Good morning sweetie….." She opened her eyes and in front of her face, she could suddenly see a big bunch of red roses. She turned back to see his face and whispered, " They are lovely, thank you." "So are you, love." She had to smile. He was so amazing. She moved closer to touch his lips but he was faster. In a second, his lips were already possessing hers and Ellen loved the passion he made her feel. She forgot on everything that was in her time and devoted herself just to Carlisle´s touches and the feelings he woke in her. She needed him to reassure her of everything. After he brought her to the climax she just began hoping that the presence of his ex-wife won't cause anything to their relationship. She had no idea of what she would do without him. She was caressing his strong hands and he was holding her tight around her waist.

On the next afternoon, she brought Patty back from her class and asked, " Patty, would you like to spend the evening with Bella and Edward?" Patricia exclaimed, " That would be promised to draw pictures with wants to draw a picture of Rose and I am curious to see it." Ellen laughed, " Then you need to show me. I had no idea that Edward can draw." Patricia replied, " Bella seemed surprised too." Ellen added, " I would like to go out with daddy, in the evening. Will you be a good girl?" Patty waved her hand, "Muuum, you know I am a good girl, always." Ellen protested, " I know but what about the guy you hit today in class? Your teacher was telling me about that." Patty defended herself, " But he was hurting Lucy, my good friend and Emm told me to fight if anybody hurts the weaker ones, so I did what he told me and I punched him." Ellen couldn't help herself and laughed. She knew she should talk this out, but on the other hand, Patty was right. If the boy was hurting her friend, Patty just fought for her. No, she cannot punish her for that.
