Ch 73

The journey back to her father seemed longer than ever. Ellen couldn't erase the look in Carlisle´s eyes when she pulled away from him from her mind. She will need all her power to forget it. Now everything was so fresh and she had to wipe her tears again. Patricia watched her mother.

"Mom? Why are you crying? We are just on holiday, aren't we? We will be back at daddy´s in few days."

Ellen nodded. "Right baby, we are taking a few weeks of holidays. We will be staying with your grandfather and Lucy, they are looking forward to our visit."

Patricia caressed her small Bella doll.

"I know, but I will miss dad, Eddie and Bella. She was so sad, when she was helping me get dressed."

Ellen shrugged, she couldn't tell her the truth, not yet at least. Patty should be kept in her children world. In a few weeks, months maybe she would tell her, now it´s too early.

In a few hours they arrived at Timothy´s house. Lucy opened the door happily and hugged Patricia and then Ellen.

"Welcome girls, I am so glad you arrived. I prepared for you the upper flat, where you will have all privacy you need."

Ellen smiled at her. "Thank you so much, it´s so kind of you to offer us a place to stay."

Lucy gave her the keys. " Ellen, you are Timothy´s daughter, this house is also yours, and your dad will love your presence here, you and the kids are all welcome here."

Ellen just nodded, she couldn't express the gratitude she felt.

Lucy understood how hard this all must be for Ellen. She lost her fiancé, the one she was having her baby with. She wanted to help her as much as she could, therefore when she saw in what condition she was, she started taking Patricia downstairs in their flat.

She wanted to give Ellen the time she desperately needed to solve everything in her head.

Ellen understood Lucy´s intention and was happy of the change in their relationship.

At least she had her family for support. Now when she stays alone with Patty and the unborn baby, she will need lots of help.

The child may bring her and Lucy finally together and she could gain a great step mother.

Ellen´s days became routine. In the morning she cooked lunch for her daughter and played with her favorite toys. Patricia spent afternoons usually with Lucy or Timothy doing various activities in the city or the neighborhood.

In the meantime Ellen got back in her bed and spent the whole time crying or remembering everything for the previous year. She began thinking about their first chats in the online chat room.

Then she reminded of how Carlisle offered her a place to stay when Derek hurt them. The following pictures of their lovemaking just let all remaining tears flow freely. She missed him too much to be able to stop crying. Before six she usually had a shower, put some light make up and waited for her daughter to come back.

Time passed so quickly. It´s been more than six weeks since they both left Forks and Patricia began asking questions. Everytime she started, Ellen could transfer her attention to something else. Just once, she failed.

Patricia arrived back home and ran upstairs to greet her mom. "Mom? How are things going? We went to the zoo. Mom, I want to go to the cinema, there´s a new fairy tale and I want us to see it."

Ellen turned to her. "Soon, baby girl, we will choose a day, I promise…."

But Patricia was tired and not patient this time. "But when? Mom? I want to go, pleeeease."

She connected her palms and pretended begging with hands.

Ellen wanted to reply but before she could say anything, Patricia began, "If we were at home, dad or Edward would certainly take me to the cinema. Why can't you?"

Ellen had tears in her eyes, she was reminded of how many times they went to see a movie, or a children fairy tale.

Patricia certainly missed that too.

Ellen didn't say anything and Patricia wasn't satisfied with reply and therefore continued requesting, "Mom? When are we coming back? I like it here, everyone is so nice, we do so many things together but I want my daddy. Why doesn't he call us? Why doesn't he come here? I miss him, Bella, Edward and Rosie too, I want to see them…."

She almost cried out and Ellen couldn´t hold on. She didn´t want to see her daughter so unhappy but she couldn´t do anything. She left because she had a reason to do so. She couldn´t explain all this to Patricia. Neither would she understand, nor could she help.

Therefore Ellen moved to Patricia, hugged her around her back and caressed her hair, "Patty, daddy loves you a lot, I am sure, we are just now living separately for some time."

Patricia wiped her tears. "You argued?"

Ellen nodded. Patricia could see that Ellen was almost crying too and she hugged her around the neck.

Ellen knew that she didn´t have to speak more. Her daughter understood without words.

Patricia was holding her mum and before she moved she asked," Do you think that he thinks about me sometimes?"

Ellen whispered," Don't worry about it, sweetheart, I am sure he thinks of you every free minute, I am sure about it."

Patricia smiled." Are you sure?"

Ellen kissed her." Absolutely, not only dad, all his children too."

"Will we ever see them again?"

Ellen nodded," I am sure you will, sweetie. I don't know when but I promise that you will."

With that she finished the conversation and sent Patty to wash up her hands.

Meanwhile she wiped the tears from her eyes and tried to pretend that she wasn't too touched by the conversation. But she was.

Ellen´s pregnancy was running fast to its end. She reached the 30th weeks and she had about 10 weeks to go. The baby seemed healthy, she went through all the requested tests and examinations. Lucy recommended her own OB/gyn. He was in the nearby town and Ellen drove there with Patricia. The appointment went fine, in twenty minutes the girls left the doctor´s office and headed to the nearby mall to do some window shopping. They were walking around the shelves and Ellen picked some baby clothes. She persuaded the doctor to tell her the sex of the baby. Therefore she could start picking some clothes and other things she will need for the baby.

Timothy and Lucy had already bought the children bed and the baby carriage in the neutral color and Ellen adored it completely. Now she could start choosing the necessary things too.

Patricia was walking next to her holding Ellen´s hand and when she screamed out loud.

Ellen turned around to see what got Patty´s attention and couldn't believe her own eyes. Few metres behind them she could see Edward who was hugging Patricia together with Alice.
