It was early in the morning. The sun was cutting through the curtains and shining down at my face. I slowly started waking up as I stretched out my arms and let out a fierce yawn. I let my arms rest down by my side, but I felt something strange when I put my hand down. It was warm and soft and squishy... And... Oh god Itt. When I placed my hand down it hadn't landed right on her breast, which I was unintentionally groping. I looked over at her nervously and she was looking at me with big innocent eyes.

"M-master?" She asked.

"Oh god sorry..." I said quickly pulling my hand back. "Wait... What are you doing in my bed?"

"I got lonely..." She said. "I thought you wouldn't mind."

"Uh... Well, I kinda do mind." I said. "You can't just crawl naked into somebody else's bed."

"I'm sorry..." She said.

"Well... Can you please put some clothes on?" I asked.

"Sure master..." She said lifting her fingers up and snapping as a white light flashed over her body and she was instantly wearing linen wrappings and a hood with cape. "Is this better...?" She asked.

"Uh... Yeah." I said.

"So... What should we do today?" She asked just as the alarm on my clock went off startling me.

"Well... I've got work." I said hitting the reset button and getting out of bed.

"Would you like me to make you breakfast?" She asked.

"You'd do that for me?" I asked.

"Of course master." She said.

"t-thank you..." I said. She smiled and got out of the bed and made her way to the kitchen.

"You just get ready for work and I'll make you breakfast." She said. She walked out and closed the door behind her. I grabbed a towel and a change of clothes and made my way to the bathroom. In there I hopped into the shower and cleaned up. I washed my hair and my body and spent just a few minutes washing up. I turned the water off and walked out and started drying myself with my towel. Once I had dried myself off I put on a change of clothes. I put on my boxes, then a pair of blue jeans that were torn up a little from work. Then I put on a dark blue shirt and then tossed the towel on the rack in the bathroom to dry. I used the bathroom and then left.

When I got into the living room the air was heavy with the smell of food. I then walked into the kitchen to see that Itt had cooked an array of food. There was bacon, toast, and eggs too... It was the first real breakfast that I've ever seen. I walked in and looked over the food and she looked up at me and smiled as she used a spatula to put some bacon on a plate and then carried two plates of food over to the table. She grabbed two glasses and then went into the fridge and poured a glass of orange juice.

"Wow... Itt, this looks amazing." I said walking over.

"Thank you master..." She said bowing quickly. "I'm glad I could please you."

"You know you don't have to live to please me, but I do appreciate the food." I said.

"But I enjoy cooking; I would gladly cook all your meals for you." She said.

"Uh... Thanks..." I said as is at down to eat. She had even left out silverware and such. She sat down too and I started eating my food and it was the most amazing breakfast I've ever had. It reminds me whine my mother used to make breakfast for me as a child, but... I don't have many fond memories from my childhood. As I went to get a drink of my orange juice I looked over to see Itt sitting there and watching me eat, then is noticed that even though she had made herself breakfast, she wasn't touching a single thing... Just sitting there. "How come you aren't eating?"

"I'm not supposed to eat my meal until my master is finished." She said.

"Stop... Just eat." I said.

"But..."

"No, don't think of me as your master... Alright, just eat... You don't need my approval to do whatever you want." I said.

"Thank you master... I mean, thank you Zack." She said smiling. The. She grabbed her fork and started eating her food too. We sat there and ate breakfast and it was probably the first time I've ever actually last here and ate at the table. We ate our food and soon enough we had both finished. Itt grabbed the dishes and placed them in the sink and said she would get to them later.

"Well... I, have to start making my way to work." I said heading towards the door. As I unlocked the door and walked out I went to close the door but Itt stopped me. "What's the problem?" I asked.

"There's no problem... I'm just following you to work." She said.

"Are you sure you don't want to just stay home instead, you don't have to come to work with me." I said.

"But I don't want you to overwork yourself, and if there's anything I can do to make my masters life easier I want to do it." She said.

"Well... I suppose if you want to do it, I can't really stop you." I said. "I'm sure applejack will appreciate the extra help... But introducing you might be a bit awkward..." I said. "C'mon, we have to go or we're going to be late." I said making my way down the stairs and into the parking lot as Itt followed me. She stayed close behind me and we started making our way through the streets. There weren't many people here at this time of day, but the people and ponies that were outside gave us both strange looks. It wasn't long before I made my way we to farm and started walking down the path. Itt just looked around at all the apple trees and smiled.

"Wow... This is a big farm... The flow of nature is very healthy here... These trees are very happy." She said placing her hand gently on one of the trees.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Fairies can sense the flow of the earth and we're very in tune with nature... We respect animals and everything on this world, but there are some forces of nature that go against the flow of the world, and this is why the fairy weapons were created, that's why I exist."

"So you exist to fight evil and such?" I said.

"I existed for that reason yes... But now I exist to do whatever my masters ask of me."

"So once I'm dead you're just going to get passed on down to a new person." I asked.

"Yes, weather you wish it to be somebody else, or if you set me free for the next five thousand years... Eventually I will be claimed by somebody else." She said.

"That's horrible... Isn't there anything that can stop it?" I asked.

"There's only one way..." She said. "When a fairy falls in love and gives her virginity to the one she loves, and they become a fairy guardian, she forfeits her immortality so that she can live and die by their lover..." She said.

"Wow... That's... Very romantic. Like something out of a...fairy tale." I said realizing the pun that I just made.

"It is..." She said. "But... It hasn't happened often." Said Itt. She was silent for a moment but then she looked up and we were at the farm already. Standing outside was the whole apple family. Applejack, applebloom, big Mack, and Granny Smith. We walked over and applejack greeted me, but then stopped when she noticed Itt standing next to me.

"Oh... Zack...hello." Said applejack.

"Uhm... Applejack... This is..."

"I know..." She said cutting me off.

"You do?"

"Twilight wrote me and at first I didn't really believe her... Thought she was just joking with me... Then I realized that she doesn't joke much... And now I see it for myself." She said. "So y'all are the fairy sword Itt..." Said applejack.

"Yes, my name is Itt... It's very nice to meet you." She said bowing to her.

"Wow... She's pretty..." Said applebloom walking over and smiling.

"Aww... Thank you." Itt replied.

"So... What work is there today?" I asked applejack.

"We gotta repaint the barn... All this heat is causing the paint to chip... As you can see it's been in pretty poor condition for a while now." She said gesturing to the barn which was in bad shape. There were parts where the paint had chipped away and it starting to peel and the color is fading.

"Do you wish for me to help?" Asked Itt.

"We could always use a helping hoof...or, hand." Said applejack. "There are buckets of red paint and brushes over there. You can start on the west side of the barn; we'll work on the front."

"Sure thing..." I said. We made our way over to the pile of paint buckets and brushes and I grabbed two buckets and two brushes wince we were going to be painting one of the broadsides of the barn. I walked over and Itt followed me and I placed the buckets down. I popped them open and handed Itt a brush. "Well... Let's get to work... It'll be a long day." I said.

"I know an easier way..." Said Itt.

"How?" I asked. And without responding she placed both hands over the open buckets of paint and the palms of her hands shown white for a moment and then as she raised her hands the paint in the bucket rose up out of the buckets. She threw her hands up and the red paint spiraled around her like two giant water snakes, then she trusted her hands forward and the paint splashed against the side of the barn and started creeping across it and spreading across the side of the barn before it had been completely covered in red paint. Then she let her hands down and the paint settled. She let out a sigh and brought her hands back down to her side. The two buckets of paint are empty now and the paint on the barn was drying.

"There... Done." She said innocently like it was no big deal.

"Well... That's definitely one way to do it." I said.

"Thank you..." Itt said.

"Should we help the others...?" She asked.

"Uh... Yeah." I said.

"WE'RE DOOONE!" Shouted Itt. It didn't take long for Itt to gather applejacks attention and she rounded the corner of the barn.

"What's all the ruckus?" She asked.

"We're done..." Said Itt.

"What in tarnation..." Said applejack looking at the barn side. "How did y'all even..."

"I used my magic..." Said Itt.

"Magic... What the... Thought only unicorns know magic..." She said.

"You saying this to a fairy who can change into a sword at will... But I was kinda surprised too." I said.

"Well, you don't know... But we don't use magic on this farm... No more magic." Said applejack harshly.

"Oh... I'm sorry." Said Itt seeming rather down trodden.

"Oh... It's alright... Y'all didn't know... But no more magic from now on." She said.

"Okay... I promise I won't use magic on the farm." Said Itt. Applejack smiled and then walked away to go finish reprinting the front side of the barn.

"Well... Les move onto the next side." I said. So we spent the day painting the barn. We grabbed more paint and painted the back of the barn by hand this time. We had to grab ladders and start from the top and work our way down, and it was pretty hard work, but we finished eventually. Applejack, applebloom, and Macintosh were already done with the front and were working on the last side of the barn. Once we were done we moved over and started helping them too. With all five of us working on one side of the barn it didn't take long for the barn to be finished. It was only noon when we had just finished painting the barn. Applejack stepped back and looked it over.

"That should do'er..." She said proudly.

"So were done?" I asked.

"Yes... But I should give you something else... That little display of magic before saved you a good chunk of work." She said.

"Uh... Yeah..." I said nervously.

"If anybody deserves extra work it's me... I'm the one who used magic... Not Zack... Punish Itt..." She said walking In front of me.

"No... It's fine, there ain't much else that needs doin'... Said applejack. "Y'all are free to go."

"Yay!" Said Itt happily. "C'mon master... Let's go on an adventure like yesterday." Said Itt.

"Like fighting more giant snakes?" Asked applejack with a look in her eyes.

"Y-you know about that?" I asked.

"Sugar cube... Ponyville might be a big town... But word gets around fast... Especially when you're behind a stall selling items and hearing gossip." She said.

"So you know... And... Probably everybody else." I said.

"You did a good thing... So don't feel bad." Said applejack. "Heck, I would say that you should try and take up adventuring as a living... You never know what's out there."

"You too...?" I asked. "Everybody has been saying that I should become an adventurer... I don't even know where I would start!"

"Why not the ever free forest?" Asked little applebloom who bounced over with a smile on her face. "That place is plenty dangerous, and I bet there lots of treasure and stuff in there." She said.

"We should go there now... There's plenty of time left in the day." Said Itt getting excited.

"Why are you getting so excited?" I asked.

"Because I love adventures... They're so much fun... Swing new things and finding amazing treasures and other places." She said. "Most adventurers make good livings too. Going from town to town, staying at inns and fighting monsters. Taking requests at local guilds and reaping the rewards."

"What adventure is there to be had in ponyville?" I asked.

"Though ponyville might not be the hotspot for adventure, there are still ponies and people in need of things." Said Granny Smith who slowly walked over with her walker. "It might be a boring town... But each town has its own problems, and it could be a good start."

"Oh... C'mon... Not you too." I said.

"You've got a grand opportunity in front of you sonny... Don't keep pushing it away; you should at least have a go at it." She said.

"Ugh... You know what... Fine!" I said. "I suppose taking easy jobs can't really hurt... And it could be an easy way to make some extra money."

"Glad you lightened up." Said applejack. "You should check the wooly sheep inn... They've got a notice board there. With no adventurers that wander through here, others might be grateful for somebody who would take the time to help."

"C'mon let's go Zack..." Said Itt tugging on my arm.

"Alright... Alright... Let's go, we'll check it out and try and do some good." I said.

"Yes..." Itt said to herself pumping her fist. "Let's go...!" She said excited
Y tugging my arm and pulling me along. As she dragged me along I waved goodbye to applejack and the rest. Once we were far enough I pulled my arm back and tried to get her to calm down a little.

"Alright calm down..." I said. "We aren't going to go fighting giant beasts on the first day... I'm not sure if we're ever going to get to that level..." I said. "We're just making some extra money." I said to which Itt just started to giggle. "What's so funny?" I asked.

"You're acting just like this one master I had." She said.

"How so...?" I asked.

"He never wanted to be an adventurer either... Then he became a powerful warrior... He said the same things as you...'no... We're just going to take easy jobs and make some extra money...' He would say..." She said jokingly mimicking my voice. "I bet that you turn out the same way... You're a lot like him you know..." She said.

"How so...?" I asked.

"Well... When I choose masters... I like to pick somebody who nobody really cares for... I like to give people a second chance, try and help them... That's why I chose you." She said.

"Gee...thanks." I said rolling my eyes.

"I've had some good masters before... But of course, then a chain of events usually has me ended up in the hands of somebody who isn't so nice... I'm glad I picked right this time... You're a great guy you know." She said.

"Uh.., thanks." I said.

"Just remember that you can't be afraid of change... Most times it's good to change pace..." She said. "Now c'mon... Let's go." She said lunging into the air at me and in mid air she glowed brightly and suddenly turned into her sword form. I was a bit surprised at first, but I was able to catch her and then strap me over my back. "Let's go!" She said and I just laughed and started running down the street. I'm usually a boring guy... But she has a way of making me feel really happy. I'm not sure if it's the circumstance, or if it's some kinda magic, or maybe it's her personality... But, I feel like I could get used to this.

"So I ran out of applejacks farm and into town which was now crowded at this point of day. Yet again people gave me odd looks, some of the. Seemed kinda nice for a change though. I kept making my way through the streets which were a bit crowded until I got to the wooly sheep inn. It was one of the older inns where people can post bills for help. Normally things like that are posted in guilds across Equestria. But ponyville isn't important enough to have a guild... So people post them here. I've been in this place before I got my apartment, and I would look at the notice board for fun and most of the jobs are so easy that you don't even really need to be an adventurer to do them. But most people want to have some kind of skill before accepting the dangerous quests that get posted at the guilds.

So I walked into the inn and as I walked in all the people looked at me, some people kept looking at me but others had to do a double take. They stared and watched me as I slowly made my way over to the notice board. It's probably not often that somebody with a sword walks over to this board... Who am I kidding, that's probably never happened before. I walked over to the notice board which had very few bills actually posted on it. I started looking through them but by the time I had read them all I couldn't find one that actually sounded good.

"What's with these?" Asked Itt speaking in my head. "These aren't quests... These are day jobs, there's no thrill... No monsters." She said. "This place lives next to the freaking ever free forest... Do people here really have it that easy?"

"This is a very boring town... Probably the most boring town ever." I said. I was about to say something else when a bill I hadn't noticed yet caught my eye. I looked over at it and it was a wanted bill for the villain known as shadow... That's me. It had a sketch of a man with a hood and glasses and mask, but there was pretty much no description other than the sketch, and it was submitted anonymously. The reward is 1,000 bits though... That's kinda nice.

"Hey... Isn't that you?" Said Itt... Which made me freeze in my tracks.

"Well..."

"Zack don't worry... I know." She said. "I've been watching you to determine if you should be my master." She said. "This is also the reason why I chose you, I want you to try and turn your life around... Stop being the villain and maybe try being a hero."

"Well... I can't exactly hunt myself." I said in my head.

"Ooh... That one looks good." She said.

"Uhm... Which one?" I asked knowing that there's no real way of her telling me what she's looking at.

"The one at the top left corner there..." She said.

"Huh... I didn't see that one." I said. I reached up and grabbed the notice bill and looked at it, and I started reading it in my head. It was a bill from a carrot farmer up in the far end of west ponyville, close to the everfree forest. "It says that for the last couple of days she's been having an infestation of timber wolves..."

"Oh... Take that one, take that one..." Said Itt.

"Alright... I guess... Though." So I grabbed the bill, folded it up, put it in my pocket and left the inn. I made my way back through ponyville but I headed down the west path which lead me to acres and acres of farmland. It took a long time but walking by all that open land and the fresh air was kinda nice, like a lovely spring stroll. I started making my way through when soon there were fields of carrots all around me and a large house and barn on the hill just ahead. I kept making my way and started to approach the house. "This should be the one..." I said to myself out loud.

"Should be... This is going to be fun..." She Itt. So I made my way up the steps to the house on the hill and pulled the bill from my pocket and unfolded it. I walked up to the front stoop and raised my hand, and knocked on the door. I waited a second till a voice said something inside, though I didn't hear it. I waited for a moment then the door swung open revealing a mare with light orange fur and darker, curly, orange hair. She looked at me and kinda tilted her head in confusion.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"I, uh... I'm here about this." I said holding up the bill. The. Her expression changed and she seemed happy and relieved at the same time.

"Oh thank goodness, yes... I posted that bill a week ago but nobody in this town has done anything, and god forbid an adventurer such as yourself should stroll through every now and then." She said.

"Yes... I've got an infestation of wolves... And it isn't good." She said.

"Alright... So what do you need me to do?" I asked.

"Well... They like to come out at night and wreck my crops, but when they aren't sulking around they've taken hold up in the barn... I haven't been in there in a week... And I've got no idea how many are in there... But if I had to guess, there must be a proper pack of them in there... Their howling keeps me up all night... I'm just glad I don't have any poor critters in there at the moment."

"Do you normally keep animals in there?" I asked.

"Cows often, but I was just lucky that before they came along I lent them to applejack just down the road, though I don't know what to tell her when she's gonna come asking when I want them back." She said. "I did have a plan to just lock them in that barn and starve them out... But I'm too afraid to even go near the place... I was getting afraid that one night they were going to come after the house."

"Uh... Don't worry... I'll stop them..." I said.

"Thank you... They're still in the barn, that's where they sleep during the day." She said gesturing to the barn far off in one of the fields. I started making my way over a started walking down a path cut through the carrot fields. As I got closer I could see that the carrots were torn up and uprooted and destroyed, they must be hungry wolves. As I approached the barn there was a bit of a foul smell in the air, it kinda smelled like death, and the. Once I got close I had noticed both of the barn doors open and a trail of blood leading into the barn. I looked inside and it was pitch black.

"I'm not so sure about this." I said quietly.

"Don't worry... Just grab my hilt, I promise... You can do this." She said.

"Okay..." I said heeding her words and lifting my hands up and grabbing the hilt of the blade and slowly up sheathing the sword. As the sword came further out of the sheath I felt my worries quickly disappear and my confidence skyrocket. As I held the blade out in front of me and it gleamed in the sunlight I smiled. I felt like I could take on the world, like I was so sure of my skills as a swordsman that I could take on any challenge. I took a few steps in and stopped. "It's too dark..." I thought to myself.

"There's a lantern to your left." Said Itt. I looked and there was one hanging on a hook drilled into the wall. I grabbed it and turned the gas on and it started to burn brightly suddenly lighting up the cave, and showing me the problem at hand. In front of me was a fully organized pack of seven timber wolves resting by the corpse of a deep. They all turned their gaze to me and glared at me with their evil eyes. They had wooden bodies, they were literally timber wolves. The foul smell must be their breath; I've been told that it's one of the worst smells in the world. I shuttered a bit but held my sword closely in hand as the wolves started growling at me and got up to start closing in on me.

"Stay sharp..." Said Itt speaking in my head. Then suddenly one of them leapt at me and only for a few seconds time seemed to stop long enough for me to react. So I dodged the wolf flying at me and as it flew by me I thruster my sword down cleaving the wolf in half as its broken body flew against the wall and shattered into twigs and sticks. Another one lunged at me but I moved my sword forward and blocked its bite with the blade. The wolf but at the blade and gnawed at it trying to get to me. It planted its claws in me trying to get a grip on me and the wolves claws dug into my skin. I yelled in pain as I threw the wolf off me as another attacked. I recovered from my last move and spun into a horizontal swing that took off the head of the wolf that just launched itself at me. The wolf, head and all fell to the ground and shattered into sticks and twigs like the other one.

The wolves just circled me and growled. Then two more attacked me at once. I was able to dodge the first one while swinging my sword a cutting straight through the second one. The first one lunged at me again with an open mouth but I blocked it with the sword and kept it there. It gnawed at the sword and I kicked it away and it whimpered from the pain. While it was on the ground I swung my sword up and stabbed the wolf through the chest and it whimpered then fell limp and died. Only three left. Then the other two attacked me at the same time. I quickly spun in a full circle swinging my sword and was able to consecutively cut them both down, there only one left now. I looked over towards it and pointed the tip of my blade towards the wolf, except this knew as much bigger than the rest, and I can't believe I didn't notice that... The thing is my height.

"That must be the alpha..." Said Itt. "If you kill it then the wolves won't return..." The alpha wolf growled at me and got ready to strike. It lunged forward for an attack but I quickly spun out of the way and slashed it across the face. As it passed by I spun back and trusted my sword into its side. I pulled the sword back out and pointed it back at the wolf. It still growled at me with a certain fierceness as it's wounds started healing.

"That's not good... I can't kill it if it heals..." I said.

"Here...this should help." Itt said as the hilt of the blade started to grow warmer and warmer as red runes spiraled across the blade and suddenly it was I gulped in an intense fire.

"Whoa..." I said almost dropping the sword.

"Don't worry... The flames won't hurt you... But they'll burn down the wolf... Now go!" She shouted just as the wolf thruster a claw at me but I stopped it with my sword and It pulled back. It tried striking me multiple times but each one was blocked by my sword. It went to swung at me but made a lunge at me with both claws and his second claw scraped my side causing me to fall to my knees and yell in pain. The wolf regained its stance and lunged at me with its jaw wide open. I quickly moved to a stable, one knee, stance and trusted my blade down the wolfs throat. The wolf whimpered and started convulsing as it began to catch fire and soon burst into flames as it whimpered and whined. It was soon engulfed in a blaze of fire which then died down to only a pile of asked. I melt there breathing heavily trying to process what I just saw and did.

"Yes... You did it... Yay!" Said Itt celebrating as her flames vanished and she became a normal sword again. "That was amazing..." She said. "You're good at this." I was about to smile until the pain from the wolves attack caught back up to me and I clasped my side and gasped from pain. I removed my hand and I was bleeding.

"C'mon let's go..." I said sheathing Itt. I got back up but I was barely able to walk from exhaustion, but as I kept moving my energy strangely started returning to me, but I was bleeding a bit. I made my way from the barn and started walking back to the farmhouse. On the side deck I could see the orange mare standing there with a big smile on her face. I walked past the fields of carrots and made my way to the deck where the mare was waiting with a smile on her face. I just kind of walked up and smiled back.

"Did you do it?" She asked.

"Yeah... The wolves are dead... They shouldn't bother you anymore." I said.

"Oh thank heavens... Thank you so much." She said "wait here and I'll get your reward... You've earned it. She then left to go into the house and I walked onto the porch. She came out not long after with a hoof full of dollar bits. She handed them to me and I grabbed them. "Here 700 bits like the bill says... Thank you." She said. I was about to say thank you but before I could another wave of sharp pain seemed through my side and I winced in pain and clutched my side. "Oh dear you've been injured... Please let me help you." She said. "Come... Sit down and rest, you must be tired." She said. "Wait here." She said as she rushed into the house. I walked up over to one of the chairs and sat down clutching my side, this claw mark really hurt.

"Master... Let me help you..." Itt said in my head. "I can change back and heal you."

"No don't..." I thought. "If anypony sees you change into a fairy from a sword then it's gonna freak people out, and we don't need that kind of attention right now."

"Okay master... But are you going to be okay?" She asked.

"Well... This isn't the first time I've found myself injured... I'll be fine." I said.

"Here I have a first aid kit..." Said the mare walking out with a red box in her mouth. She set it down and flicked it open the walked over. "Let's see it..." She said. "Lift up your shirt."

"Uh... Yeah." I said taking off my shirt to see it even for myself, and it was nasty. There were three large claw marks running through my bloodied side and one smaller one from the other wolves' claws. That huge wolf did cut me up something fierce. The cuts were deep and the raw tissue glimmered in the sunlight. Just seeing it made me feel ten times worse.

"Oh dear that's a bad cut... I don't think I can help too much with this dinky first aid kit." She said... But I can slow the bleeding so that you can get right to a proper doctor." She said. "Now hold still dear." She said taking a cloth and pressing it against my wound which made me wince in pain. "I know it must hurt... Just bare with me." She said pulling out a bottle of rubbing alcohol.

"Oh dear god..." I said softly.

"Now this is going to sting... A lot." She said damping a cloth with rubbing alcohol. I quickly prepared myself and she pressed the alcohol dampened cloth onto my open wound.

"AH! SON OF A... MOTHER FUCKER!" I said. Grunting and wincing in pain until she pulled the cloth off me. "S-sorry... For the swearing."

"No harm done... Now we can bandage it up... It actually doesn't seem too bad once all is said and done... But still, I'd go to a doctor just to make sure." She said as she placed gauze over my wound and wrapped it in bandages. Once she was done I put my shirt back on and stood up. My side was absolutely killing me, but I think I can live with it.

"Thank you..." I said.

"No thank you...I can finally get back to the farm, make sure to stay safe... Alright?" She asked smiling at me.

"I will..." I said smiling back and then leaving. I waved goodbye to the mare and put the money she gave me in my wallet. It was only 700 bits, but that's still a lot of money even for the trouble. I started shambling my way back through ponyville and it was a good twenty minutes before I got back in town. My shirt had been completely torn up and the bandages and gauze were easily visible and they had already started bleeding through.

"Will you let me help you now?" Asked Itt. "If you go back home I can transform and heal you.

"N-no... The hospital is closer... I'll go there..." I said shambling into the crowded streets. People looked over to me and winced when they saw my injuries. Most others didn't really do anything, just looked and went on their way as I made my way through the streets. Until a familiar young colt noticed me and rushed over to me.

"Hey... Hey mister... Remember me?" Asked the little colt running up beside me.

"Hey... Your that kid from yesterday..." I said. "H-how's your sister." I said slightly choking on my words.

"She's fine... Her leg is in a cast now and she's getting better... I was just going to the hospital to see her with my parents... Where are you going, on another cool adventure?" He asked.

"Heh...I actually just came back from one." Trying to act like a role model in front of the kid.

"Wow... So what are you doing now?" He asked.

"Well...hng... Now I'm heading to the hospital too." I winced in pain which cut my sentence off a little as I slightly staggered from the pain and grabbed my side.

"Whoa... Did you get hurt...? Are you okay...can I see?" He asked. I just kinda smiled and showed him my wound by moving my hand from my side. "Whoa... You got your shirt torn and stuff too... You must be really tough..."

"No... I'm not really..." I said wincing again. "This... Really really hurts kid." I said keeping up the pace.

"Blitz... Blitz... There you are..." Said a mare's voice from the side. It was the mother of that girl from yesterday. "What did I tell you about talking to strangers?" Said the mare walking over to her son and pulling him away from me.

"No mom... It's him... The guy from yesterday." He said pointing to me. It was only at this point that the mare had noticed me and smiled.

"Oh my... It's you..." She said. "Thank you so much again for yesterday... If it wasn't for you then... Well... I don't even want to think about what could have happened." She said.

"Please don't think about things like that..." I said "I'm glad I could help."

"Honey... Honey... There you are... What are you doing here; the hospital visiting hours are running out..." Said a stallion who had made his way over, from what I could tell he was the father.

"Dear this is the man who saved our baby girl..." Said the mare gesturing to me with a smile.

"Oh... It's good to meet you in the flesh..." He said walking over. "I can't tell you how grateful we are for what you've done and I just can't think of any way to repay you." He said holding out his hoof for a shake. I went to shake his hoof, but incidentally my right hand was the one I was using to clench my wound so it was now covered in blood. I didn't notice but when I did I pulled my hand back slightly.

"Oh my... You're bleeding." Said the mare. "What happened, are you okay..."

"It's nothing... I was just heading to the hospital..." I said.

"Oh had and we kept you here with pointless banter... Why don't you let us take you there... We were heading there too." She said. "It's not far." I thanked her and we went to the hospital together. Once we were there I was able to get some professional help. The guys there were able to stitch up my wound told me I should rest here for a while since I've lost a good amount of blood. So I waited there and the other family had gone to see their daughter in another room. I sat in my empty room alone.

"Master... Can I change back now?" Asked Itt.

"Not now, the surveillance cameras will catch you... Just wait. It'll be fine... I just need to rest for a while then we can go home and have dinner." I said aloud.

"Alright..." She said.

"Hey mister..." Said another familiar voice outside of my room. It was the little colt who was peaking over my doorway. "Who were you talking too?"

"Uhm... Nobody!" I said.

"Were you just talking to your sword?" He asked.

"No I was just talking to myself, it helps me think." I said.

"Oh... So are you feeling better now?" He asked giddily.

"Much better... But I'm still tired and need to rest a bit." I said.

"So how'd you get that cut?" Asked the kid.

"You wanna know?" I asked. The kid excitedly said yes so I told him about the timber wolves, but I made it sound a lot more awesome than it was. About giant timber wolves, tons of them and a huge big one that was almost as large as a dragon. It just barely cut my side but even that was enough to injure me this bad. I filled his head with dilutions, but he seemed to like it so it was fine. I exaggerated my story and kept the kids attention for a good twenty minutes before his parents found us. They were pushing a little filly with a cast in a wheelchair.

"Hey mom..." Said the little colt.

"Blitz... Don't bother him, he's had rough day." She said.

"It's fine..." I said.

"He was just telling me how he fought like a thousand timber wolves and then took down the alpha wolf with only just a scratch and it was soooooo coooool!" Said the little kid overreacting.

"Alright... Why don't you go get some juice or something for you and your sister?" Said the mother handing the little colt five bits.

"Okay mom..." He said rushing away happily. The mother just laughed and the father rolled his eyes.

"You told him that you defeated a thousand timber wolves..." She said condescendingly, but in a joking matter.

"Well... I said a hunger... He said a thousand." I said chuckling a bit.

"So how many were there really?" She asked.

"Like seven..." I said chuckling. "But there was an alpha wolf... Pretty big, about my height... Huge nasty teeth... And oh god the smell..."

"Yeah... Timber wolf breath with kill anything smaller than a bird." Said the father.

"That's the one that got me..." I said.

"So are you new to ponyville?" Asked the mother.

"Well... No... I live here." I said.

"Really... I thought so... Adventurers never wander through ponyville." She said.

"Yeah, they just take the train right past this place and into Canterlot." Said the husband.

"Yeah..." I said chuckling. Just then the little colt came walking back in with two small boxes of juice. He walked over and propped himself up against the little fillies wheelchair. She handed her a juice box and she smiled and grabbed it. They both took the straws and stuck them into the juice box and started to dink them happily.

"Well... We ought to leave you to your rest now... Thank you once again for everything." Said the father holding his hoof out. Now without my bloody hand I was able to reach out and shake his hoof. It was the first time I've ever really had a decent conversation with others. The thanked me and left to go back to the little fillies room. I went back to resting and lay down in the hospital bed. I was already feeling much better already, but I was a bit faint. After another hour of rest I started to look over at Itt.

"Hey... Are you okay?" I thought to myself so she could hear.

"Yes I'm fine... I was just letting you rest in peace and quiet." She said.

"Thank you... But I think I'm feeling better now... Why don't we get going?" I said.

"Okay... And when we get home I'll cook you a big dinner to fill your stomach." She said happily.

"Sounds good." I said smiling. I got up from the bed and grabbed Itt and strung her over my back and made my way out of the room. I didn't get far before I was stopped by a nurse.

"Oh... You must be the adventurer who was checked in." She said. "Yes, the one with the terrible cuts and you had to get stitches..." She said. "You shouldn't be heading out so soon... Blood just doesn't regenerate in an hour or so."

"Yeah but I feel fine." I said.

"You really should stay over the night." She said. "But if you must then just fill out the forms in the front office and you can leave."

"Alright thanks..." I said making my way down the hall to the front office. Once there I met with the clerk and she gave me all the paperwork and stuff and it filled it out. It didn't take me long to fill out and then get on my way. It was late and a bit dark, so the walk home was lonely since there weren't many people out at this time. It was quiet too, Itt was keeping quiet and didn't say anything, I didn't really say much either. I just kept to my thoughts, which focused mainly on the fact that after only five minutes of walking my side was starting to kill me again. But I managed to tough it out until we got home. Once we did get home I unlocked the door and walked in. I placed down Itt and she glowed brightly and returned to her humanoid form.

"Would you like me to start dinner for you?" She asked.

"Uh..." I said looking over at the time. It was only seven. "Not just yet... Why don't you relax or something."

"You should really be the one relaxing... Master if there's anything I can do for you just let me know." She said seeming kinda helpless.

"No... I'm fine." I said. "You need some rest too... It's been a long day."

"I don't know why you're being so nice to me..." She said. "I'm your sword and your slave... You're supposed to give me orders like make dinner, or clean the house, or fetch groceries... You could have even just told me to paint that whole barn for you and I would have... But you have t ordered me to do a single thing yet and it's been two days."

"Well... I'm not going to give you orders... Okay." I said. "Like you said yourself... Sometimes a little change can be a good thing." I said giving her a smirk. She just looked at me and smiled back.

"Thank you..." She said calmly. "Why don't I make us some dinner."?

"You should rest and let that injury heal... I'll make dinner, and we can turn in for the day." She said.

"You don't have to."

"Yeah... But I want to... Besides. I'm hungry too." She said smiling.

"Alright... But nothing too big." I said.

"Sure thing..." She said heading into the kitchen. I walked over to the couch and sat down and turned the TV on and switched it to the news. Just the same old stuff. Disaster had struck fucking everywhere apparently but it's not a big deal. Then they started talking about the adventurers around Equestria, and how one of them had slain the dragon in the hydra plains. A single guy... Killed a dragon... How do you even do that, I barely killed a few wolves? I'm nowhere near the level of these other guys.

So it was sitting there watching this news report that started to make me think about my life. And I thought that maybe I could be an adventurer... Travel the world, seeking fame and fortune and glory... Or I could just stay local... And by local I mean in Equestria. It would be fun now that I think of it... Maybe I could start looking around, check the notice board and the wooly sheep inn until I get some good experience under my belt. I kept looking at the screen even though something else was on now but I was tuning it out and just thinking to myself.

"Hey...hey... Dinner is done." Said Itt who was shaking shoulder.

"Huh?" I asked completely spaced out.

"Dinner..." She said.

"Oh... Thanks..." I said getting up but Itt stopped me.

"You stay here... We can eat dinner here so you don't have to move as much." She said.

"No it's fine..." I said getting up anyway and turning the TV off. "My side is just cut up, it's not like I broke my legs." So I made my way into the kitchen with Itt who had prepared two plates with rice, fish and mashed potatoes. I walked over and looked at it and I don't even remember buying fish... But you know what... Fuck it, I don't care... It's food... And it smells fucking good... I'll worry about the consequences later. So we sat down and started eating, though I had to remind Itt that she didn't need to wait for me to finish to start eating her own food.

"So what are we going to do tomorrow master." She asked.

"Tomorrow... Well... I don't know, probably go to work... Then, I guess we can check the notice board again to see if there's any new posts." I said.

"I guess it helps to start somewhere." She said. We ate our dinners in peace and ended up going to bed early. Moving around caused me some great discomfort but once I got into bed and settled down the pain went away. As usual Itt stripped right In front of me again saying that she can't sleep unless she's naked which I think is just strange, but then again I don't usually sleep with clothes on either... But I can still fall asleep wearing clothes. She climbed into her and I crawled into mine. I turned off the light and started heading to sleep. I'll need to get my energy for tomorrow.

Because I've got this strange feeling in my gut about tomorrow...
