My name is Zachary miles. I'm the bastard child of a human and a unicorn, my existence is a whole mystery and I figured that my life would always be horribly boring. I always thought that I would live and die alone...but nothing could be further from the truth. I live in a shity apartment in the middle of ponyville, a town just as boring as I am. My life used to so boring, but then I made a friend. Twilight sparkle, and then one friend turned into two...and then four. I lived somewhat happier for a while, but after a while strange things started happening to me. And then one day I received a package, a huge box with no legal sticker. I opened it up to reveal a sort of case. It had three locks and once those we're unlocked I opened the case to reveal that it was a sword. The fairy sword Itt.
Then one morning I found out that the word I received wasn't really a sword, it was a girl who could change into a sword, she was a fairy named Itt and I became her master. So she stayed by my side for a week, and in that time I've gotten to know her well. She was kind, and caring and loving and was always looking out for me. She was the best thing that could happen to me. And then one night we... Well, we did a few things and ended up getting married. It was the happiest moment of my life and I swore to be there for her until the end of forever. So with the marriage complete I had now become a fairy guardian and unlocked Itt's full potential as a fairy weapon.
It's a month later now, and summer is in swing. Me and Itt are living happily together. We stay at each other's side all day long and we often take jobs at the local notice board at the wooly sheep in. A month back it had been packed full of bills, but in this month alone we've managed to clear the whole board, now we go there to check up on it and there's usually one or two bills posted every day, so we keep a good job of cleaning up the town. It wasn't long before my name was known around the town. I was the only hero that ponyville has ever known and the town slowly started becoming a better place.
Me and Itt had been living together in peace for this past month. Eat at the same table, we kiss, and we love each other. We hold each other every night and each day I'm happy. Life has been peaceful and in a way of its own, this crazy life of mine has now become normal. And it's not a boring normal, I wake up each day expecting the same thing pretty much. We get up and go right to work. I did stop helping out at applejacks farm, she fired me actually only because I was best suited for adventuring rather than farming, and I don't mind that. So the days are slow, but fun, and I love every minute I spend with Itt.
"Darling, behind you." Itt said in my head warning me of spiked tentacle lashing out from behind me. I spun around and swung my great sword at the tentacle cutting it in half. I was in the middle of a contract at this point, there was an urgent request at a pumpkin farm that a bit of the mist from the everfree forest had seeped into one of the pumpkins and now it's become a monster. I thought it was some cruel joke... But I was wrong. The thing looked like a possessed jack-o-lantern with vines lashing out with spikes. It lashed out several spikes at me and I dodged them jumping and spinning in the air. I landed and rushed towards the beast. It attacked left and right but I dodged every one and leapt high into the air. High up above the huge pumpkin beast.
"NOW ITT!" I shouted positioning the great sword to attack.
"Right..." She said. Red runes danced along the blade and it burst into a brilliant flame. I let out a battle cry as I landed on the top of the pumpkin and jabbed the sword right into its head. The pumpkin let out screams of pain as fire started to spew from its eyes and mouth. The tentacles caught fire and burned away and soon the whole thing burned to the ground in a smoldering pile of ash. I dropped down and landed in the ashes. Me and Itt were getting better and better as a team every day. She was my armor and my sword and I did all the work. My heavy armor, wasn't very heavy at all, it felt like I was wearing nothing most of the time. The lasted leggings and loin cloth hanging from a utility belt which I kept stocked with random things. My red flowing cape and hood and the spiked shoulder pad on my right arm, and the glowing red runes on my left hand. And Itt, the great sword of burning passion. To most people she looks like she would weigh as much, if not, more than a person, but to me she's as light as a feather.
"Oh... Thank you." Said a mare walking over smiling. She was the contractor who posted the bill. "It's a good thing you got here in time... It just kept growing." She said smiling. "Here... It's your reward." She said reaching back and handing me a handful of money. I gladly accepted the reward and thanked her for the work. She thanked me once more and I started heading back into town. There was only one more bill that was posted and after that me and Itt are done for the day. I reached into the pouch on my utility belt and pulled out the last bill and started to look it over.
"Is that the last one for the day darling?" Asked Itt in my mind.
"Should be." I said in my head. "Looks easy too... Just some thugs of East Street."
"It's sad how people need to feed off the weak and innocent to feel strong." Said Itt. "I have no sympathy for the likes of them."
"Me either..." I said. "But hey, don't think about it... It's still early, there weren't many bills today, and so once we're done here is there anything you would like to do?"
"I don't know... What do people normally do during the summer?" She asked. With Itt not being a slave anymore it's like she's completely new to the world. She hasn't had much experience with relationships, and neither have I. So she's still a bit surprised and awkward when it comes to social functions, but it's cute how sheepish and awkward she can be which is just one of the many reasons why I love her.
"Well it's a pretty hot day... Why do t we get some ice cream." I said.
"Ice cream...?" She said. "Isn't that some kind of treat or something...?"
"Yeah... I guess you could say so..."
"It sounds like fun." She said happily.
"Alright... We'll go get some once we've turned in this bill." I said walking along and then taking a right into East Street and walking down the road. I looked back at the bill in my hand and checked the address of the contractor. "It says 22 east street room 14." That must be this apartment building right here." I said pointing out a large brick apartment complex alongside the street. I started making my way over to the door and opened it up. There was a lobby then a hallway to the rooms. I walked down and started scanning the room numbers for number 14. The last number at the end of the hallway was 10, so I walked up the stairs to the second floor and started walking along until I found number 14 not too far down.
"It's strangely quiet in here." Said Itt.
"You're right." I said. I couldn't even hear any sounds coming from the other rooms. It was strangely quiet, but it could just be because it's a hot summer day and people are either working or having fun outside and stuff. I walked over to room. Number fourteen and knocked on the door. I waited for a moment and when there was no answer I knocked on the door again. I waited some more and there was still no answer. "Sh-should I go in?" I asked Itt.
"I'm feeling something strange from this room." She said. I could feel it too, there was a chill down my spine. "Don't go in. Just leave, we can come back another day."
"I just wanna go in and check really quick... Just to make sure everything's okay." I said grabbing the door knob and turning it.
"Okay... Just go in quickly though." She said. I opened up the door and it creaked as it opened. I peered into the room and saw an empty living room with a couch and a TV on a stand. There was a small coffee table in front of the couch. To the left there was a walk in kitchen where a counter wrapped over and marked the point between the living room and the kitchen. There were cabinets and normal kitchen appliances, stove, fridge, etc. there was a door close to the TV in the living room and a door right next to me. I walked in and looked around.
"Hello?" I said walking in and looking around. It looks like people had been here recently. There were used dishes and snack wrappers scattered around on the floor and the coffee table. It just looked like nobody was home at the moment, but I still can't shake this strange feeling. "Hello...is anybody here?" I asked walking further in. I looked around and peered over to the kitchen but there was nobody here. I walked over to the other side of the room to the windows and looked out and around. I was going to turn away until something caught my eye outside. I was about to walk past and move on but I did a double take and looked back out of the window.
All I saw was a man standing outside in the nearby alleyway. He looked like a casual bystander, but he did seem rather shady. He had a hoodie on and baggy pants and he was just outside of the alleyway. He was leaning against the wall of the building next to him. I looked out the window at him and I got another chill down my spine. Then the man in the alleyway looked up, right at this very window, and stared right at me and I stared back at him. He had a steely look in his eyes and then he held up his hand and he was holding something. He looked me dead in the eyes and then a smile slowly spread across his face. I felt everything suddenly stop, everything around me seemed to come to a standstill. A chill went down my spine and I felt cold, frozen. His eyes locked onto mine and I watched as he pressed his thumb down on whatever he was holding.
There was a sudden mechanical beep that echoed through the whole apartment and suddenly there was a loud bang right behind me and a great force forced my body forward as the whole world around me was engulfed in flames and smoke. The ground suddenly came out from under my feet and all the pressure and the force of everything caused me to collapse, and everything went black and the world around me vanished into nothingness. Though in the midst of all the blackness I felt a warmth was over my body. Though as feeling began returning I could feel pain in every inch of my body. I was sore, and my chest burnt and there was a searing pain in my left shoulder.
I started to wake up now, everything around me was hot and my body was sore and riddled in pain. As my vision began returning I could see that I was buried under a ton of rubble. I moaned and started to push rubble off of me. I was in the lower part of the apartment building. Bricks, wooden beams, metal pipes and large pieces of furniture were scattered all around and burning slowly. The whole thing was just a trap that I walked right into. There I pushed a coffee table off my back and tossed it to the side. As I tried picking myself up, pieces of wood, brick and dust rolled off my back. My left shoulder was in searing pain and when I looked there was a large metal rod tearing right through my lower left shoulder. I was losing blood and I had deep cuts all along my body. And my leg was in pain. I looked back to see that there was a large pile of rubble pilling on top of my right leg.
I reached back and with one swift tug I ripped my leg out of the pile of rubble and let out a cry of pain. I started breathing heavily from the immense heat, the pain, and the loss of blood. I tried standing straight up but I couldn't get up, all I did was fall down. I tried stopping myself with my left arm but the pain in my shoulder stopped me and I just fell on my face. I let out a groan and lifted myself up with my right arm and flipped myself onto my back. I let out a groan of pain and started to feel myself slowly starting to slip away a little. But I focused my nerves and let out a fierce shout of determination which momentarily made the pain stop, but on momentarily. Suddenly my armor began to glow and it warped off my body and Itt changed back into her human form. She was cut up, and bruised, but definitely better off than me. She was unconscious and was laying down right next to me
"Itt...ITT!?" I said reaching over and shaking her. I was back in my normal clothes now. I wore jeans and black shirt which were all torn and bloodied now. I promised that I would protect Itt with my life and I'm not going to give up on that promise. I rolled back over and pulled myself up and stood on two feet. The pain in my leg was intense but I could feel a rush of adrenaline running through my body. I felt like I could do anything now. I reached down and picked Itt up off the ground and threw her over my back. With her combined weight a sudden snapping sound echoed through and I screamed in pain as I wave of agony rushed over my body. I fell to my knee and looked down at my right leg which had now fractured through my skin. The broken, and bloodied, bone jetted out of my skin and blood started spurting and leaking out of my leg. But I lifted myself up regardless and carried Itt across the room to a large gaping hole not too far in front of us, but there was a large pile of rubble blocking the path.
This part of the building was still a little unstable and a large chunk of ceiling fell down to my right along with a bed on the supporting floor. I painfully carried my way over to the pile of rubble blocking the path and I kept Itt on my back. I put my stomach to the gravel and debris and started crawling up. My left hand was in pain and I was sore and tired. But luckily, in my adrenaline induced rage I managed to let out one last shout of fierce power and throw myself and Itt over the side and we tumbled down the pile of debris and out into the street which had now filled with people and ponies who looked on in horror, even more so to see me crawl out of that fiery abyss. I laid back in the middle of the road and started breathing heavily. I couched into my hand and started moaning in pain.
"Sir...sir are you alright?" Asked an EMT who rushed over and knelt over me.
"What do you think?" I asked making one last smart remark.
"Uh... Zack...Zack...? ZACK!?" Said Itt who had woken up and rushed over to me and practically shoved the EMT out of the way. "Darling are you okay...oh, of course you're not... I'm sorry... I'm sorry." She said looking over me frantically.
"It's not your fault." I said. I coughed one more time and looked at my hand to see I had coughed up a mist of blood.
"Oh god... Your shoulder... And your leg... Oh... Don't worry... I can help." She said.
"Miss, please get out of the way we need to get me him medical attention right now." Said the EMT.
"NO I CAN HELP!" She said as the EMT tried pushing her back. But Itt wasn't as weak as she looked. She grabbed the EMT and tossed him away and knelt back over me. She clasped her hands together and started chanting something in fairy language again. Then she placed her hands on my chest and they started to glow bright green and a healing warmth started passing over my body. All of the minor cuts and scrapes on my body began to close and I found it much easier to breath now, and I didn't feel like at any moment I would pass out an never wake up. She couldn't heal my leg or arm yet. The trogon metal rod still jetted through my left shoulder and my fractured leg still was terribly broken. The bone still stuck out and blood leaked out from the wounds. The feeling of warmth and clarity caused me to quickly pass out and went back into darkness.
In this field of darkness that I now found myself in time seemed to pass by instantly. Like entire hours were gone before the count of three. There weren't any thoughts, no dreams, nothing passed through my mind, and it was just dark hollowness. I felt like this place I was in was real, like it was some kind of purgatory and while time felt like it passed by hours a second, it also felt like it would never end, it felt like I spent days in there, and other times I would remind myself suddenly that only an hour had passed. For a moment I believed that I had actually died, and I was overwhelmed with sadness. But whenever I felt like that I would hear Itt's voice telling me to be strong and that gave me the strength to keep going. Then a bright light started to glow and light up the entirety of the darkness and I was thrust back into the real world instantly.
"WHERE!?" I shouted jetting up from where I was laying down and feeling a rush of energy and alertness flowing over my body. All the feelings and emotions of the real world entered my brain all at once and for a second, I don't even know if this is humanly possible, but I felt every known emotion rush through my head in a split second which felt more like five minutes. Everything was a blur, and the room around me didn't come into focus until I started to calm down and relax. I looked around and saw I was in the hospital now. I was in a gurney with surgical tunes stuck into my right arm, leading to an IV. I was in a patient's gown and everything was silent. I tell something though, holding onto my left hand. I looked down to see Itt holding my left hand. She as asleep and her head rested on the side of the bed as she sat up in a chair.
"Good... You're awake." Said a voice on the other side of the room. Still somewhat nervous and alert I looked over to see twilight and I suddenly calmed down. "I'm glad... You had us all scared there for a moment."
"T-twilight...what happened... The, building... There was a bomb." I said barely remembering the events that took place after the explosion. All I know was that Itt was safe and I had pulled her out of the wreckage. Noticing myself now, I saw that my left shoulder was patched up and covered in bandages while my right leg was in a cast. "What happened... How long have I been out?"
"Almost two weeks now..." Said twilight somewhat upset to say it. She had a worried look and her ears hung down by her side.
"T-two weeks... But..." I said. "It couldn't be... I've only been asleep for a few hours."
"No... It's been thirteen days today." She said. "And poor Itt stayed by your side the whole time, holding your hand, and crying... I just came in a couple minutes ago to check on her."
"I...don't know what to say." I said. "Two weeks is a long time to be asleep."
"The doctors said that at your rate you would have slipped into a coma that could have lasted years..." Said twilight. "And I thought that you might have, you didn't even show any signs of getting better, and... And." Said twilight starting to break down and cry now as tears started building up in her eyes. "I thought that you wouldn't wake up... I tried calling your name... I tried shaking you... But you just wouldn't wake up... Even Itt's healing magic wouldn't help... And you just kept getting worse...and worse." She said completely sobbing now over the edge of my hospital bed.
"Twilight... No... Please, stop crying... It's alright now... I'm fine, and everything's going to be fine." I said placing my hand on her head and rubbing her behind her ear the way she likes, but she didn't let up too much. "Twilight it's fine... Everything's okay... I'm feeling much better now."
"I know... It's just... I've been holding those tears in for a while now... I didn't want Itt to see me crying too." Said twilight picking her head up and wiping the tears from her eyes. "I'm glad, I couldn't be more glad right now actually, it's a miracle that you had woke up."
"At some points I felt weak, and I felt like the darkness around me would swallow me whole... But the only thing I could hear in my head was Itt's voice telling me to be strong... And so I was." I said. Twilight smiled and a few more tears rolled down her cheek.
"She wouldn't let go of your hand, and she would talk to you and tell you to be strong." Said twilight as Itt's hand had tensed up and her grip tightened around my own hand. We both looked over and saw her slowly start to moan and open her eyes. Once her eyes were open she looked up at the two of us and her eyes just stuck to me and she froze. Her eyes were all puffy and red, probably from her crying. She looked at me with her deep red eyes and a few tears had started rolling out of her eyes and soon she just threw herself at me and started crying hysterically. She wrapped her arms around me and held me as tight as she possibly could. Her grip was hurting my shoulder, but I didn't care at all. I just held her in my arms and patter her on the head. I didn't say anything, I just let her hold me and cry.
Twilight looked over at me and smiled. She got up and wiped one last tear from her eye and walked over to the door to the hospital room and opened it up. She gave me one last look and then left. She closed the door and it was just me and Itt now. I held her close as she cried in my arms. Her tears were staining the patients gown I was wearing, but that's fine. I know that I just need to let her let it all out, and so I did. Still, even this silence with just her crying was depressing, and I soon felt like crying myself for just making her so sad and depressed. And knowing that she was always by my side telling me to be strong, her loyalty to me is immeasurable.
"It's okay..." I said holding her. "Everything's going to be okay now... I stayed strong, just like you told me to." Hearing that seemed to only make her cry more. "I promised you that I would always be there for you. And that every tear you shed wouldn't go unanswered..." I said as my loving words soon burned a deep fire inside of me, a deep a flaring fire of determination. I knew what had to be done... The people that attacked us are going to pay. Their plan was too well funded and well organized for it to just be a group of regular street thugs. It would seem to me that Donnie's back in town. And as I held it I could feel her starting to get hot, her hands which held my back soon grabbed onto my patients gown and she gripped it tightly. Her hair started to shine and float and wave like flames and little sparks came out of her hair like embers.
"When I found out who hurt you..." She said in a very serious voice that struck a chill down my spine. "I'm going to destroy them..." She said. Hearing her say something like this was strange, but I could feel the hatred flowing through her body, the fierce determination in my heart was now shared between the two of us.
"Don't worry love...we're going to pay them back..." I said. "And I know just who did it too..."
"Good." Said Itt still holding into me tightly. "I want to see them burn!" She exclaimed holding tightly onto me. The hatred coming from her was intense, you could literally feel it. She started breathing heavily and her body grew hotter and hotter, and at one point I would have figured she'd just burst into flames. But soon she started to relax, her body cooled off and her hair fell back down by her side and she loosened her grip on me with her head still buried in my chest. She picked her head up and looked at me. Then she leaned in and planted a big kiss right on my lips. I pulled her close to me and kissed her right back.
"Though... We're going to have to wait until I get better." I said.
"You should be fine really." Said Itt back in her usually giddy voice. "While you were out I've been healing your leg and shoulder. It didn't take long to heal your shoulder." She said removing the bandages around it and showing me that there was only a scar there. "And your leg healed after a couple days of continuous healing... It should be healthy now too." She said knocking on my cast which didn't even hurt.
"Yeah... But how do we convince the doctors to take the cast off?" I asked.
"We don't need them." Said Itt holding out her hand as a ball of bright red fire lit up in the palm of her hand. She placed it on my cast and the whole cast went up in flames for only a second before crumbling to ash and falling off around me leg. I lifted my leg up and saw that it was pretty badly scarred. But I slapped my leg and knocked my fist on my shin bone and it didn't hurt at all... Felt just like new.
"You know... You really are the best." I said smiling.
"I know..." She said jokingly.
"We should go now... You've probably had enough of this place." I said.
"You should rest though." Said Itt.
"C'mon,., I've been sleeping for almost two weeks now... I've had plenty of time to rest, now we gotta make up for lost time..." I said getting up out of my bed and stretching my legs.
"Alright... I've had a change of clothes here for a while." She said handing me some clothes. "The doctors said that I shouldn't even bother bringing them in since they said you would probably slip into a coma for several years... But I knew you wouldn't leave me like that." She said handing me my clothes.
"Of course not... I promised, remember... To never leave your side." I said smiling.
"And I promised to never leave yours." She said as I stated changing into my clothes. I tore out the needles for the IV and my arm started to bleed a little, but it was nothing in comparison to what happened recently.
"Until forever ends..." We both said in unison. Itt smiled and I did too as I put on my old worn shirt. Itt still was wearing her usual get up. Long red fiery skirt and black bandages covering her breasts. She had metal cuffs over her wrists and a gold wedding ring on her finger, as did I. It isn't normally fairy tradition to have wedding rings, but we thought that it would be nice, like a constant link between the two of us. I had put on a pair of torn jeans and a torn shirt... Almost all of my clothes were torn in some way, but these ones weren't so bad. Though, as I was putting my shirt on I did notice my torso had been covered in scars of varying shapes and sizes, most likely from the accident, but somewhere from before that.
"Alright darling... Let's go home." Said Itt walking over and taking my arm.
"Whenever you're ready." I said smiling. She smiled back and snapped her fingers as a ring of fire spiraled around us and suddenly engulfed the two of us in flames. When the flames vanished we were no longer in the hospital but the living room of my apartment instead. Though. When we looked around we were both shocked to see the state of it. The whole place had been completely razed. The furniture destroyed and torn apart, the TV smashed, holes beat into the walls and plates and dished shattered and thrown around. The garbage can was tossed at the wall and the contents had been spilt all over the kitchen floor. The windows were smashed, the coffee table and kitchen table looked like they had been had at with an axe. The dining room chairs had been torn apart piece by piece.
Itt couldn't believe it and covered her mouth from the shock of it all. I walked over and opened up the bathroom. The mirror was smashed, shower curtains torn down and the polite was stuffed with toilet paper. Then I went into the bedroom which was no better. My the drawers in my dresser had been pulled out and thrown around scattering clothes everywhere. The wardrobe had been pulled down and laid on the ground face down. The bed sheets were torn and thrown everywhere and the mattress was cut open and directed. More holes in the walls and the door to my closet was wide open. I walked over to see that mostly everything in there had either been stolen or destroyed. Everything was destroyed. My laptop, snapped in half, the alarm clock was smashed.
I looked around in horror at this all. Everything was destroyed, and if it wasn't broken it was gone. The only thing I have to my name now is all the money in my wallet, which is only about five thousand bits... That's not nearly enough to replace all of this stuff. Not even enough to replace the essential stuff like the bed, or the dining room table and toiletries. Not to mention how much just the repairs to the foundation would cost. I just stood there in my room in utter defeat. I was mad before, extremely mad before for making Itt cry. But when I hear a sound come from the living room I turned to see Itt with her face buried in her hands and she was sobbing again. I stared and watched as a single tear fell from her cheek and hit the ground. And now I was furious, I was unbelievably, and unimaginable pissed now. I felt like screaming, yelling, I wanted to tear somebody limb from limb with my bare hands. Before all this happened I had never seen Itt cry, but now she's been crying for almost two week's straight now... I will...DESTROY whoever is responsible for this... I won't let her tears go unanswered.
"Why is this happening?" Asked Itt.
"We were just making ponyville a nice place... We never hurt anybody." She said falling to her knees now. I walked over to her and knelt down beside her and held her in my arms gently.
"Itt... I'm sorry... This is my fault." I said. "And I will destroy the person responsible for this... With every fiber of my being... I will destroy the people who made you cry."
"I wanted...to get back... For the people that hurt you." She said. "But I just.. Can't do it... I...just, can't take it anymore." Said Itt. "I thought that once we got married my life was supposed to be happy... I thought I want supposed to cry anymore." Hearing her say that... Something inside of me, something I've been feeling for a while now suddenly woke up. It was like a burning fire, a literal burning fire inside of my chest. I felt a heat run through my body. I let out a deep breath and it was hot. The symbols on my arm began to glow a fiery red, and there was an uncertain feeling of hatred in the air. I stared past Itt as my eyes began heating up and they too turned red from fury. I let go of Itt and just stood up and walked past her. "Darling... Where are you going?" She asked.
"I'm going head hunting..." I said. "I'm going to bring you back the hearts of every person that mad you cry." I said opening the door to go outside and holding it in my hand. The heat generated from my palm made the door handle literally melt in my hand. I opened the door and shook the molten metal off my hand. With every step I took out into the night air the ground under my feet burned. The wooden planks I stepped on turned black like charcoal. I walked down to the parking lot and the dirt and gravel under my feet glasses over from the heat. I clenched my fist tightly and could feel it seeming with heat. I clenched my jaw down and felt my incisors beginning to grow sharper. I felt like I was turning into some kind of demon, and it felt incredible. I could feel a raw energy inside of me. It was like the feeling of seeing Itt use her magic but it was inside me, and there was so much power welling up in me. I don't know how to use it... But I know that I can well will use it.
"Wait... Zack... Said Itt rushing out and running up to me. She still had tears in her eyes. "Please... You don't have to go... I'm fine." She said. "We can handle them together... I don't want you to get hurt." I turned to her and placed my hands on her shoulders.
"I swore... On my very life... That I would bring an answer for all of your tears. And you've been crying for two weeks now... I won't forgive it... I will never forget the people who did this to you. I told you that if you were my sword, I would be your shield... And I'm going to protect you from anyone who tries to take your happiness from you." I said.
"If you're going to be my shield... Then I have to be your sword." She said looking up at me and smiling. I smiled at her too and grabbed her arm. Her body began glowing and her body changed into the large great sword she normally turns into, it was just the sword though. The red runes danced across it and it burned with an intense flame. I normally had to lug her around with two hands. But with all of my hatred and rage balled up into a burning fire of power I lifted Itt up off the ground with just one hand and swung her over my shoulder. I glared forward and started walking down the street. I reached down into my pocket and grabbed my cellphone. I dialed one of the contacts on it and called the number. I waited and then somebody picked up the line.
"Zack... Is that you, are you okay man?" Asked hammer who I and called.
"Hammer... Shut up and listen." I said angrily with an evil demonic undertone in my voice. "Is Donnie back in town?"
"Zack... You know I..."
"HAMMER SHUT UP AND ANSWER THE QUESTION!" I shouted into the phone. It was silent for a second, then he answered.
"Yes... And he knows about you." He said.
"Did he plant that bomb?" I asked.
"Yes..."
"And did he destroy my home...?"
"Yes..." Said hammer.
"Hammer... If you're at the hideout... Leave... I'm coming over." I said as I closed the phone so hard that it shattered into pieces which melted from the intense heat of my hand. I had to call just to make sure, also to tell hammer to leave because he's the only one there that I know would t betray me in any way. I kept walking down the road and the world burned under my feet. I could only think about one thing right now, and that was destroying Donnie, everyone who works for him, and everything that he owns, just like he did to me. It wasn't long before the large abandoned factory was in view and I felt myself growing tense with anticipation.
"Darling... When we get in there... Don't be afraid to be angry." Said Itt speaking in my mind. "Fires burn hotter with raw emotion, and hatred is one of the more powerful emotions. Don't be afraid to use your power..."
"I won't hold anything back." I said gritting my teeth. And in the midst of grinding my teeth I could hear Itt giggle which was rather surprising.
"Thank you darling..." She said. "Nobody has ever stood up for me like this... I... I love you Zack..."
"I love you too Itt." I said as I walked up to the steps to the old factory building.
"Now let's go break some necks, in the name of love." She said. I smiled as I walked up to the large door. I lifted up my leg and thrusts it forward kicking the door in. The large doors broke open and flew to the sides with a deafening bang that echoed through the whole place. All the people in their suddenly stopped everything and looked over in surprise and everything was silent.
"KNOCK KNCOK MOTHERFUCKERS!" I said as I lifted up my left hand and a ball of fire exploded in my very palm, so this is what magic is like it's like bending the elements around me. It feels just as easy as walking or using my muscles. I trusted my hand outward and the ball of fire flew to the left and exploded in an intense fiery explosion. I waved my hand over to the other side and the ground cracked and a long rift opened up along the ground and fire spewed from the depths of the earth. I them leapt into the air and abruptly landed right in the midst of a large group of people. I gripped Itt tightly and spun in a circle swinging Itt in front of me. I placed her back on my shoulder as everybody within a six foot radius of me fell into two pieces and their intestines and blood began spilling out onto the floor.
I moved my hand to the left where a few guys had started pointing guns at me. I snapped my fingers creating a small spark and the group of guys suddenly burst into flames. I snapped my fingers again in another direction and there was another intense and fiery explosion. I snapped my fingers one more creating another vast explosion and soon enough the whole factory was on fine. I started walking past the burning and screaming bodies and started making my way into the corridors to get to Donnie. Once I got to the door to the office spaces I tried opening it but the intense heat coming off of my melted the handle. So I lifted my foot up and kicked the door clean off its hinges. It shot straight into the wall across the hall and almost broke right through. I walked through and looked down the hallway to see tons of guys with machine guns.
They started to open fire at me but I focused all of my energy In front of me in a hopes that it would do something, and luckily it did. The bullets didn't even get to me before they just completely incinerate and turned to molten metal and ash before hitting me. Suddenly the loud banging of guns turned into a rapid clicking of empty clips. I raised my hand and snapped my fingers and suddenly the whole hallway was engulfed in a haze of fire and smoke. The guys in the hallway screamed and panicked as they slowly burned to death. I didn't feel bad in the slightest, they made Itt cry and they deserve to suffer for it. I started making my way down the hallway and stepped through fire and ash to get to the stairs. I started making my way up and the carpeting under my feet caught fire with every step and as I walked the fire would follow right behind me.
I walked up the stairs and made it to the hallway leading to Donnie's office. There were several guys there with machine guns but I didn't even give them a chance to shoot. I quickly dashed up to the first guy closing a distance of twenty feet in just a second and I trusted my sword upward cleaving him in half. Then I dashed to the next, and the next. Cleaving through all the enemies in the hall in a matter of seconds as blood covered and painted the walls and was quickly boiled away by the spreading fire. I rushed right up to the door of Donnie's office and kicked it off its hinges. It went flying through the office and smashed I to the back wall of the room. And when I walked in. I saw a terrifying sight.
I saw twilight, bound and gagged, and tied up to a chair. When I saw her eyes immediately locked with mine and with one stare it could feel her screaming for help. Then I looked to see Donnie standing there with a shotgun pointed right at her head. His hair was messy. His suit undone, and he looked very...very, upset. He looked over at me and glared at me and I stared back at him with the burning fury of hell itself. The heat around me grew hotter and the carpet and rugs started to catch fire and burn all around me as I lifted up Itt, the flaming great sword and pointed her right at Donnie. I glared at Donnie with an evil look that would make demons themselves quake in fear.
"You..." I said as the fires around me grew hotter and brighter. "You've ruined enough lives..." I staid.
"You don't think I don't know what goes on in your life... I know who your friends are... I've got eyes and ears on every street. You think you can just turn your back on me... You think that after all I've done for you... You can do this to me... If you take another step... I'll fucking paint the walls with this bitches head." He said.
"You practically forced me to work for you... And you've ruled my life... I will admit, I never used to be the greatest guy... And twilight... I'm sorry you had to find out this way." I said looking over to her. "But no more... Now I'm doing what's right." I said. "I'm not mad because you tried killing me... Or that you destroyed my apartment. But In doing so you made my wife, the one person who I love more than anything else in this world... You made her cry. And I promised that I would answer every tear she shed... And I promised her I would bring her the heart of the person that made her cry." I said. "SO IM GOING TO TEAR THE FUCKING HEART OUT OF YOUR CHEST, AND KEEP MY PROMISE... You're going to pay." I said.
"I said take another step and this bitch is dead... Do you fucking hear me?" He said pressing the shotgun up against twilights head. I growled at him with anger as the air around the gun he held became superheated and the metal of the gun itself started to melt. The hot intensity if the metal caused Donnie to drop the shotgun and scream from the burning pain. Once the gun was out of his hands I started slowly making my way over. I thrust Itt into the ground and left her there and walked over unarmed. "Get back...bet the fuck back." He said pulling out a pistol and shooting at me with it." The bullets burnt up and turned to ash before they even came close to me. The bindings around twilight soon caught fire and burnt to ash setting her free but keeping her unharmed.
I walked up to Donnie and was right in front of him now as he kept pulling the trigger on his gun only to be met with the empty click of a dry gun. He dropped the gun and I could see the absolute fear in his eyes which was only met by the immeasurable hatred in my own eyes. I reached down and grabbed him by the neck. I kept a tight grip on his neck and held him up high. He struggled and gasped for air and tried pulling my grip loose with his own hands. The heat coming from my palm was slowly burning his neck and he tried screaming but could only choke out a few yelps. Then I raised my hand in the air ready for a punch and I thruster my hand through Donnie's chest. I broke through his rib cage, tore through flesh, and grabbed his beating heart. My arm broke out the other side, through his back, covered in blood and tissue. And in the palm of my hand, was Donnie's beating heart. It was still connected to his body.
I pulled my arm back through and held his beating heart in the palm of my hand. I held it in front of his face and as he looked down at his own heart you could see his entire life starting to flash before his very eyes. I pulled my hand back and ripped apart the arteries and veins still connecting Donnie's heart to his body. They snapped like paper and blood spurted everywhere. I held onto him tight as I watched the life leaving his eyes and his pale body soon became hollow and lifeless. I tossed his body into the nearby fire and the fires consumed everything her was. I looked at the heart in my hands and it pulsed once...twice...three more times before it grew soft and empty. Blood dripped from the open cavities of the heart and I could feel my anger being satisfied now.
"Oh my god...Zack... What have you done?" Asked twilight looking at me in fear.
"I promised that if anybody made Itt cry I would destroy them... I told her that every tear she shed would not go unanswered... I swore my life on it." I said still holding Donnie's heart. "He made her cry for two weeks straight... That...is unforgivable."
"You tore out his heart..." Said twilight.
"I promised Itt that I would bring her the heart of the person that made her cry." I said.
"D-darling?" Said a voice behind me. I looked back to see Itt who had changed back. She looked around and everything was on fire. She let out a deep sigh and raised her hands. As she began to lower them the fires all across the factory died down and soon were extinguished. The place was now a hollow and desolate graveyard full of burnt corpses and ashes. Itt put her hands together and looked over at me. "Darling... It's over now."
"As I promised... I promised I would give you their heart." I said.
"Yes... And you've lived up to that promise." She said. I just looked at the heart in my hand and when I saw it I could only feel hatred. Out of anger I quickly crushed the heart in my hand and it popped like a balloon as blood spurted everywhere. I opened up my hand again and the deflated sack of flesh dropped to the ground. "Please... Darling... It's time to calm down now... You're starting to scare me."
"Itt..." I said looking at her. She had a worried look and I could tell she was worried about me. It had then just crossed my mind the ridiculousness of what had just occurred. I had been using magic... Magic! I cleaved people in half with a giant sword of fire, and I literally ripped the beating heart out of Donnie's chest. As all this raced through my mind I began to settle down. The heat around my body faded, my muscles began to relax and my eyes faded from red, back to blue. My teeth became less sharp and my hands, which had turned into some kind of demons claw, reverted back to normal. It was like this anger had changed me... Changed me into a demon. "Itt...I-I'm sorry... Please forgive me."
"There's no need to be sorry." She said walking over and grabbing my hand and holding it up. "Though you may have been swayed by hatred, your acts couldn't have been purer... Nobody had ever gone through such great lengths just because I've cried." She said. "And I can't lie, that all this time I felt the same hatred too, I would never forgive anybody who hurt you or want to make your life difficult." She said. "But, I don't want to see you be angry anymore. But I'm glad that seeing me cry made you feel this way, it proves to me how much you love me."
"And you stayed by my side... And that proves to ME, how much you love me." I said smiling and hugging her. "I love you Itt..."
"I love you too Zack..."
Authors Note: this is the first real boss fight of the story...(its also the chapter when zack loses his shit... but that's different). all the chapters aren't going to be action packed, just some of them, but there are going to be chapters that do have excitement in them, so at least its not unbearably boring. anyway... keep reading.
