W-who the hell are you?" I asked looking at her. Itt just leaned over and grabbed me.
"What happened?" Asked twilight rushing into the room with her horn glowing purple and a determined look on her face. She looked around and when she spotted the girl she pointed her horn at her. The girl on the bed just stared at us all with a dumbfounded look on her face. "Who are you?"
"I'm sorry... I haven't introduced myself..." She said hopping off the bed and landing on both feet gracefully. She then bowed her head down and brought her hands together at her waist. "I'm the fairy weapon Zaxiel... I am the blood shield... Or otherwise known as the wall of war."
"A-a fairy weapon!" I said.
"Another one?" Asked twilight as her horn stopped glowing.
"Another one..." Said the girl quietly to herself. Then her eyes locked onto Itt and they both stared at each other. Suddenly the girl smiled and leapt at Itt. Itt just screamed a bit before the girl tackled her out of my arms and hugged her. "Oh my god you're a fairy too... That's amazing; I don't get to meet many other fairies... Is master your master too... Of this is so fun..." She said nuzzling her face against Itt's face. Itt just kinda... Let it happen, after all... Seeing her, must be kinda nice knowing that she's just a fairy... And she's young too. Can't be any older than nineteen."
"Uhm... Pease get off me." Said Itt.
"Oh... Sorry." Said the girl quickly getting off of Itt. "You must be my master..." She said as she turned to me and smiled. She bowed her head and then picked herself back up.
"M-master..." I stuttered.
"Oh god... Not this again." Said twilight. "Zack... What did you do?"
"What the hell... I didn't do anything last time and I didn't do anything this time... You should know... You've been with me all this time." I said.
"You're the one who broke the seal." She said. Those words made us all stop and freeze.
"Ooohhh..." Me and twilight both mumbled out on unison.
"You were trapped away in that seal?" Asked Itt.
"Yes... Unfortunately my master had been slain by an assassin who as well had a fairy weapon." Said the girl. "He knew that the assassin was coming... So he sealed me away in the mattress of his bed and stored the bed in his closet with a powerful blood magic spell... It nearly killed him... After that... I don't know what happened." She said. "I assume he was assassinated. He told me that when the seal was broken I should seek out the one who broke the seal and they would become my master... That was his dying wish... And I must fulfill it." She said bowing her head again. "So from now on I will be your loyal servant until the day you should pass away."
Uhm..." I stammered out but I couldn't find any words.
"Aren't you a fairy...?" The girl asked looking over at Itt. "Where's your collar?"
"I'm free now... Me and Zack have become one... We're married." She said wrapping her hands around me.
"Oh that's amazing!" Shouted the girl happily as she jumped at us and wrapped her arms around the both of us. "That's so amazing, I'm so happy for you two, I wish I could find a nice master... Wait... That must means you're a very kind master... Oh, Yay... I'm so happy." She said blurting out a thousand things at once.
"Can you even have two fairies?" Asked twilight.
"I don't freaking know!" I said. "And can you please let go of us now?" I asked.
"Oh... Sorry master." Said the girl as she let go and stood back up in front of us. This was all just...so confusing.
"Well... I'm not Zack's slave anymore." Said Itt. "So... Technically if this girl is darlings slave... Then he only has one slave... But still two fairies."
"So... Uh... I'm sorry... What's your name again?" I asked.
"I'm the fairy weapon Zaxiel... I'm the fairy blood shield... Also known as the fairy wall of war." She said.
"Blood shield?!" I said.
"Yes... My element is blood... I use blood magic." She said.
"Zack... I don't think I need to tell you that, that isn't good." Said twilight. "Blood magic is dark and self sacrificing magic."
"Oh I don't use my own blood..." Said Zaxiel.
"Uhh..." I hummed. "Over the years all the blood of the monsters and people that my previous masters have slain is all washed into a pool of blood that I can access at any time..." She said. "See...watch." She said as she held up her hand and from the ground a red spiral of blood started to leak from the floor and rise up to her hand which glowed with a red mist. The blood hovered in the air and started to shape itself until it hardened into a sword which was black and dripping with blood. She then let go of the blade and it broke apart back into a pool of blood that suddenly evaporated leaving a red mist in the air which quickly dissipated.
"Oh geez..." I said. "Just when things were starting to get simple again..."
"I still don't trust her..." Said twilight.
"Mmmm, neither do I..." Said Itt.
"I don't even... Uh... I don't even know" I said. "Can this even happen... Is there some kind of rule or such against it?"
"Well... There aren't really many rules, other than that the slaves have to completely obey any order their master give them, without question and without hesitation." Said Zaxiel.
"So... There aren't any rules about this kind of stuff really." I said concluding what she said.
"In theory... It is possible that one person could have multiple fairies as his slave... Perhaps them all if he tried hard enough." Said Itt. "But with the amount of humans outnumbering the fairies so greatly, it's never really happened."
"So... How come I'm your master now?" I asked.
"Because my master told me, as his dying wish, that whomever should break my seal would be my master." She said. "A fairy takes a new master when her master dies of natural causes and doesn't give a dying request. She sleeps for five thousand years and then chooses a new master." She said. "Or in my case the master can give a dying request to which the fairy must obey, this request must eventually lead the fairy to a new master, even if it's as simple as handing down the fairy to friend or family, or if it's my case...where my master told me to be loyal to whoever broke the seal." She said.
"And then there's the third way..." Said Itt. "Which is the reason why your master may have sealed you away." Said Itt glaring at Zaxiel.
"What's the third way?" I asked.
"If a fairies master is slain... Or killed by another man before they can give a dying wish, or before they die of natural causes... Then the person who killed the former master now becomes the new master." She said.
"What if it's a beast that slays the former master?" Asked twilight.
"It's the same thing as the master dying from natural causes... Fairies can only have human masters, so if a monster kills our master then we sleep for five thousand years and choose a new one." Zaxiel said.
"Oh geez... What have I gotten myself into?" I asked rubbing the back of my head.
"Darling... She' your fairy now... It's... Up to you to make a decision." Said Itt seeming fairly concerned. I started thinking but all the thinking started to give me a headache because I couldn't figure out what to do.
"AAAHHHH!" I shouted vigorously rubbing the top of my head and messing up my hair. "Damnit!" I shouted. "Fine... I can't think of anything... There no real way out of it... So Zaxiel can stay..." She seemed happy and started to smile, but Itt just looked a bit concerned. "But in this house you don't call me master... Call me Zack, this is Itt... And twilight." I said gesturing to Itt and twilight. "Don't do anything strange, try and stay decent as much as possible... And don't go looking for orders from me... Also don't ask me to punish you... Because I won't."
"Sheesh... That one way to lay down the law." Said twilight.
"Ugh, I'm tired..." I said shambling over to our new bed and falling down face first into the new comfortable sheets. "Wake me up when the problem solves itself."
"I guess I better go now." Said twilight as she let out a sigh. "Don't do anything stupid Zack... I'm going to write to the princess about this... I'm sure she'll be able to help... In the mean time...just... I don't know... Relax or something. I'm sure this whole thing isn't as bad as it seems."
"That's what you said about Itt..." I said. Twilight just looked over to Itt with a concerned look. They both shared the same concerned look and Zaxiel looked around and didn't know quite what to think.
"I'll go then... I'm glad things... Uh...well, I'm glad things didn't blow up in your face." Said twilight. "Well... They haven't yet... So don't let them." She said.
"Bye twilight..." I said.
"Bye..." She said leaving the bedroom and walking down the stairs. I could hear her open and then close the from door and it was just me and the two fairies. Itt walked over and sat down beside me on the bed and placed her hand on my back. Zaxiel just stood there and looked.
"Darling... Are you feeling okay?" Asked Itt.
"I'm just exhausted..." I said.
"Do you still want me to make dinner?" She asked.
"No thanks... I'm not hungry anymore..." I said.
"Okay... I think we should just skip dinner tonight and just get some sleep." Said Itt. "I'm... Sorry." She said. "This day was going so well, and it was just like in my dream... So I thought that it was going to be like that all day and then tonight we'd be able to just relax in our new house and have some private time together."
"It's alright..." I said.
"I never figured all of this would happen..." Said Itt.
"I greatly apologize for causing you trouble master..." Said Zaxiel. "If you want I can go away, or you can punish me, of if you wish you may have your way with me." She said getting on her knees and lowering her head.
"For crying out loud." I said. "You literally just broke every rule I told you not more than five god damn minutes ago..." I said angrily and the runes on my arm began to faintly glow.
"Darling relax..." Said Itt holding onto me as I was sitting right back in the bed.
"I'm sorry... Master... I- I've failed you..." Said Zaxiel. "I can never do anything right... Ever." She said. "I'm a failure..." I felt a little bad, but what was worse was when she started to sob and cry right in front of us.
"H-hey..." I said feeling really guilty now.
"I always try so hard, but I mess up anyway and I get punished..." She said still drying.
"The poor thing..." Said Itt. I got off the bed and knelt down on the floor next to Zaxiel. She was still sobbing and she tensed up like she expected me to hit her or something. Thinking about how she expected somebody to hit her made me sick. How could anybody hurt somebody like her? I don't really know her... But she hasn't even done anything wrong... She's just doing what was told and trying to help. She's so young and innocent and kind too... To think of somebody who would hurt her or use her for their own sexual deviances makes me sick. She was still tense like she expected me to start hitting her. I just reached my arms out and as my arms got closer and closer to her she got more and more tense and she clenched her face and grabbed her dress tightly in both hands.
I reached my arms around her and quickly pulled her into me. Surprised she suddenly shot her eyes open and just stared forward. I held her in my arms with her head against my chest. Itt walked over and knelt down beside her as well and also reached in and hugged her. Her surprised expression just turned back in to more tears and she started crying again. Me and Itt just held her and she kept crying and crying. I looked at Itt and she looked at me and she smiled a little. We held Zaxiel for a while until her crying died down and she went silent. When I checked to see if she was better now I just noticed that she was asleep. I looked at her and let out a sigh.
"The poor thing." Said Itt. "I think we should let her stay with us."
"Are you sure... Having another fairy around might be a bit awkward for you." I said.
"I know you want to help her." She said grabbing my hand and holding it in both of hers. "I remember how kind you were to me and how nice you were... You're different from all the other humans... You're kind, and this fairy is obviously one who hasn't had very favorable masters. I think... That you should help make her as happy as you can... I think it'll be nice." Said Itt.
"Yeah...you're right." I said. "I do want to help her... I can't imagine having to put up with everything you fairies do...and I can't imagine why people would even dream of hurting somebody as young and innocent as her." I said.
"You're a good person darling... That's why I love you." Said Itt leaning over and planting a firm kiss on my lips. I looked at her and smiled.
"Here... She can sleep with us tonight." I said picking her up in my arms. "Then tomorrow we can buy a new bed and give her the office room."
"That sounds fine with me." Said Itt pulling the blanket back on the bed. I laid Zaxiel down in the bed and rested her head on one of the pillows. Me and Itt got changed and we went to bed as well. We climbed into our new bed and got comfortable. Itt was naked again and I just slept in my jeans because I didn't feel like digging through the boxes of clothes for my pajamas. I also figured it would probably be better if at least I kept my pants on. Me and Itt laid down in our new bed with Zaxiel right between us. We laid down and Itt smiled and reached her arms past Zaxiel and placed them around me. I smiled and we started going to sleep.
Having Zaxiel between us kinda felt like we had a kid of our own, even though Zaxiel was probably thousands of years older than me... In theory. But it doesn't really matter, she's still small and adorable and I don't care. Me and Itt held her between us in our bed as we gently started to fall asleep. I slowly started to fall asleep and began to dream of strange things. It wouldn't be until tomorrow morning that I woke up. The sun cutting through the curtains woke me up because it was shinning right in my eyes. I opened my eyes and had to move my head because the bright sunlight was hurting my eyes. I moved my face away from that beam of light and once my eye readjusted I looked around.
I saw Itt who had her arms over Zaxiel and her hand was holding onto my own, I didn't even notice that she was holding my hand. Zaxiel was sleeping soundly with her back up against Itt. She faced me and had her arms draped over my side. She was breathing softly through her mouth and she was still wearing that red and black maids dress. I looked around the room and I had forgotten that we were in a new house now. I looked around and I smiled and laid my head back down and let out a soft moan and then let out a yawn. I was a bit too loud and I ended up waking Itt. She let out a yawn as well and then moaned an rubbed her eyes. She opened up her eyes and looked at me and smiled. I smiled at her too and then her eyes went down to look at Zaxiel.
Itt smiled again and brought her hand up and placed it on Zaxiel's head. Itt started to rub Zaxiel's head and she soon started to crawl back to consciousness. She let out an adorable yawn and started moaning. Her face tensed up and she slowly opened up her eyes and started taking in the room. Once she was fully aware she looked at me and the first thing she saw was my chest, she looked up at me and gave me a bit of a dumbfounded look. I just smiled at her. She looked back at Itt who was still petting her head and gave her the same look. Itt returned her look with a smile just like I did.
"Good morning..." I said.
"Good morning..." Said Itt too.
"Uh... Oh, uh..." Said Zaxiel who was oddly confused. "W-why am I in your bed master?" She asked seeming a bit afraid.
"Well... You seemed tired, and we don't have another bed yet." I said.
"Zack and I thought that maybe it would be nice if we went out and got you your own bed... And you can stay in the guest room."
"I... I've never had my own bed..." She said fidgeting with her fingers. "But... Are you sure?"
"Well, you can't stay in our bed all the time... It'll get too cramped." Said Itt.
"Besides... I bet having your own room would be nice." I said.
"M-my other masters... They never let me have my own bed... Let alone a room." She said. "I always just slept on the floor, or outside, or...or...well." She said growing quiet.
"Well... I'm sure having your own room will be nice." I said. "So we'll go out later today and find you a bed..."
"And we should also check the notice board too." Said Itt.
"That as well..." I said. "So we better start off the day." I said letting out a yawn and sitting up in my bed. I stretched my arms and got out of bed. Itt climbed out of bed and snapped her fingers as her clothes magically appeared on her body. Zaxiel sat up in the bed and looked down; she was hanging her head and moping. She eventually got out of the bed and kept to herself. Once Itt and I were changed we walked out of the room and made our way down to the living room and kitchen area. Itt smiled and walked over to the kitchen and started to prepare breakfast. We waited and it wasn't long before Zaxiel walked down but stood right by the table, she didn't sit down.
Itt started cooking breakfast and I checked the news. Once Itt was done with breakfast she placed down three plates on the table with stacks of pancakes and maple syrup. We all sat down and Zaxiel was a bit hesitant to sit and eat, but she finally sat down in one of the chairs. Me and Itt started to eat our food happily but I stopped to see that Zaxiel hadn't even touched her food yet. She just stared down at her plate with empty, hollow eyes, she didn't look very happy. I stopped eating and looked over at her with worried eyes.
"Uhm... Zaxiel... Are you okay?" I asked.
"You should eat dear... You need your strength." She was silent and still kept her dead look on her face and looked down at her plate. Her mouth moved and she started to mumble something. I couldn't really hear her but then she spoke up.
"W-why...are you being so nice to me?"She asked.
"W-what do you mean?" I asked.
"Nobody's ever been this nice to me..." She said. "My other masters... Never gave me a bed... Let me eat with them... Hugged me... Let me cry...they were never so nice to me...why...why are you so nice to me?" She asked her voice was a bit frail, like she was trying to hold back her tears. "I...I...I can never do anything right, I always mess up, and forget things... And I'm not good at cooking, or cleaning... I'm not good as a slave... I can't do anything right."
"Well... You don't have to worry about that." I said. "Because I'm not going to ask you to do anything you don't want to do."
"B-but." She said.
"If you want to learn how to cook then Itt can show you, and you can clean with the two of us when the house gets dirty. And we can get you your own room with a bed, and you don't have to be so worried all the time... You can relax." I said.
"It's okay sweetie... Zack is a very kind and loving person." Said Itt patting Zaxiel on the head. "He's very caring and kind and loving and he always looks out for others."
"But...why?" Asked Zaxiel. "I'm supposed to do everything you tell me to do, why don't you?" She asked, at this point she had a few tears rolling down her cheek.
"Because I don't need you to do anything for me." I said.
"I couldn't figure it out either... I didn't know why he didn't ask me to do anything he wanted me to do." Said Itt smiling.
"I guess you could say that I don't believe in slavery..." I said. "I get why others might want to take advantage... But I'm not that kind of guy, I know what it's like to be treated like less than a person, and I feel like everybody deserves a chance to be happy... I've finally figured that out for myself now." I said looking over at Itt and smiling. She returned my smile with her own.
"D-do you really think that I could be happy?" Zaxiel asked.
"I do... I think you should try and relax, stop being so tense... I'm not going to hurt you..." I said.
"Zaxiel, you should eat some of your food... It might get cold." Said Itt.
"Oh...okay..." She said picking up her fork. She cut off a piece of the pancakes sitting in front of her and then brought the fork to her mouth. She ate the piece of pancake and started to chew slowly, but then she began to eat faster. I saw a she ate the food that her eyes had widened and she seemed a bit more... Relaxed. She started to eat her pancakes quickly and me and Itt returned to our own food. Zaxiel was done in a couple minutes and she just had an empty plate in front of her.
"Wow...you ate that fast." I said.
"Did you like it?" Asked Itt.
"It was good..." Said Zaxiel who kept her head down and pushed the plate away. "...t-thank you..." She said as she put her head on the table and started to sob.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I don't k-know...I...I just feel like crying... I'm sorry." She said still crying.
"You don't have to be sad..." Said Itt putting her hand on her back.
"I'm not sad...I'm happy, I'm really, really happy." She said. "I'm sorry... Please don't be mad."
"I'm not mad..." I said. "Now come on, don't cry... If you're happy I'd rather see you smile."
"O-okay master..." She said picking her head up and wiping the tears from her eyes. She looked at me and smiled. She was adorable when she smiled.
"Aww... You should smile more often, you look so cute!" Said Itt smiling and patting Zaxiel's head.
"She's right..." I said.
"Thank you master..." She said smiling.
"Oh... We should go now?" Said Itt suddenly perking up.
"Go where?" Asked Zaxiel.
"Into town..." I said. "We need to take some jobs and make a living."
"Are you an adventurer master?" Asked Zaxiel.
"I'm not a big time adventurer; I've never been outside of ponyville." I said. "I just do local things... Help out with small problems."
"It sounds like fun... Can I go?" She asked.
"Sure..." I said. "I don't see why not?"
"What is it that you turn into?" Asked Itt.
"I'm a shield..." She said.
"Oh... This is going to be fun..." Said Itt. "With two fairies I bet we could take on anything... We should go..." Said Itt as she began to glow and suddenly she enveloped me in light and I was covered in armor again and the great sword was strapped to my back. I had red metal leggings and a black loin cloth. A thick and spiked shoulder pad covered my right shoulder and my left arm was a little more bare, but still had armor covering it. My chest was bare except for the strap for Itt while she's in her great sword form, and my black and red hood with cloak.
"Oh. Master you look very impressive..." Said Zaxiel.
"You should come with us..." I said. "I'm sure you'll be of great help and me and Itt would greatly appreciate your help." I said.
"Okay master... I'll do my best to make you look good." She said. She cupped her hands together and started to glow a darker red than Itt usually glows. She burst into a red glowing aura and moved over to my left arm. I picked up my left arm as her red glowing aura began to take shape and soon became solid. She turned into a shield, but not just any shield... Probably the most terrifying shield I've ever seen.
The shield was blood red with black metal workings and a very comfortable grip which left my left hand free. She was huge, standing length wise, from the ground I could just barely get my chin past the top, and she was light too, just as light as Itt, making it possible for me to swing a sword with one hand and hold a shield in the other. On the front of the shield was a pattern of deadly looking spikes with serrated chains linking each of the spikes to one another, there was a total of eleven spikes. Four on the left and right, and three ridding down the middle.
"C'mon darling... Let's go have some fun..." Said Itt happily.
"I agree... We should head out and make people happy." Said Zaxiel.
"Well then let's go." I said walking towards the door and opening it up. I walked out and locked the door behind me and started to make my way down the street, though... There was a bit of a problem. It was the afternoon on a bright and shiny summer day, and the neighborhood we had just moved into was a very peaceful neighborhood. And as you might assume a family would most likely want to live in a lace such as this, and every family has a kid...right? Well, it appears that I was correct in my assumptions as when we walked outside there were tons of kids outside playing on the pavement and laughing and drawing with chalk as mothers sat on the front stoops talking and watching over their kids. So naturally, when I stepped out with my fiery armor, immense great sword, and spiked, blood red shield... I gathered some attention.
"Whoa... Look at that guy!" Said one of the kids pointing over at me. The street had been cluttered with kids, human and pony alike. They were all getting along happily and playing together, but now their attention was dead set on me. I looked over nervously and saw that the mothers had been staring at me now too. They just kinda stared with dumbfounded looks on their faces which was priceless, but embarrassing at the same time.
"Uh... Hi..." I said holding up my hand and waving hello to the mothers. "I'm your new neighbor... Don't, uh... Don't mind me..." I said.
"Whoa... Mister you look totally cool." Said a young colt walking over accompanied by a little human girl who was smiling and wearing a pink sun dress.
"Are you the hero guy my mommy talks about...?" Asked the girl. At this point more had started making their way over to me.
"Uhh..." I stammered.
"Of course he is... Look... His got the same big sword like the guy on the TV does... It's him, it has to be." Said another boy wearing a green shirt and overalls.
"But the guy on the TV doesn't have a shield." Rebutted another boy.
"Actually... The shield is new." I said.
"Whoa... It is him..." Said one kid.
"Cool..." Said another kid. I just kinda laughed at them and smiled. Kids are adorable when they all ogle over something.
"I'd like to stay... But I've got work to do." I said making my way out of the crowd of kids. I got past them and then just let out a brief sigh. I reached back and grabbed Itt by the hilt and unsheathed her. I pulled her over and rested her over my shoulder. I could feel her smiling as I held her, and I could feel that Zaxiel was very happy too. Being connected with them like this, I can speak to them through my mind, and also I can tell how they're feeling, just as if you were reading somebody's emotions by looking at their face. "So...Zaxiel...it might take us a few minutes before we get to the notice board to look for some jobs... Why don't you tell me and Itt about yourself?" I said in my mind.
"Well... There isn't much to say." She said. "The only real special thing about me is that I can use blood magic."
"That is kind of rare..." Said Itt. "Blood magic may be very sacrificial, but fairy blood magic isn't self sacrificing, it allows control over blood, not manipulation of the spirit world by using blood as a magic offering, which is what humans do."
"I can control the blood of myself as well as the blood of anybody else." She said. "Though there are limitations... I can control and bend my own blood at will, and I have a pool of blood that I can access whenever to bend that blood to my will and I can turn blood into weapons and stuff."
"Hardened blood is ultimately stronger than diamond..." Said Itt.
"But I can't control the blood of others unless they have an open wound somewhere on their body which allows my magical grasp to filter into their bodies. The greater or more numerous the wounds there are the easier it is for me to control them because that allows more magic to flow into them." She said.
"So...what can you do once you control somebody?" I asked inside my head.
"I can make them do whatever I want, but I can't make them think differently though, they still remain conscious, but I can control their movements." She said. "I can also make their heart stop, make blood stop circulating to a certain area of the body. I could also immediately pull out all the blood in their bodies and they would die, or have their blood turn into spikes, skewering them from the inside out." She said. "Or I could freeze their blood and kill them... Or, there is the one I like to use more often... I could just boil their blood and cook them slowly from the inside."
"That's uh... Pretty painful sounding." I said.
"I know." She replied. "I don't like to control the blood of others too often because it's magically exhausting... And my only weakness is that I don't have a very large pool or magical power, I tire easily..."
"So what emotion drives your magic?" Asked Itt.
"What emotion?" Asked Zaxiel.
"Yeah, like fire is driven by anger and passion." She said. "What drives blood magic?"
"Uhm... Well... Blood magic is, driven by... Pain." She said sheepishly.
"Pain?" I said.
"Every time I'm hurt my magic power grows... Immensely." Said Zaxiel.
"Blood magic is a very unstable magic, which can usually make the fairy that uses it to end up suffering more in life than they should." Said Itt. "That explains why you've had such a hard life... Isn't it?"
"Yes..."
"Well..." I said. "I'll make sure that you don't get hurt... It's about time that you had a change of luck." I said smiling.
"T-thank you... Master." She said.
"No problem..." I said as we had now arrived to the wooly sheep inn. I hadn't really been paying attention to where I was going, but I've been to this place enough times that the path to this place is forever burnt into my head. I walked over to the door and used my left hand to open it up since my left hand was still free even with Zaxiel acting as my shield. I pushed open the door and walked in. I stepped in and then suddenly stopped when I saw something that I've never seen before. I walked over to the notice board, and it was practically empty. There was a single notice posted on here... One... I looked at who it was from, and to my surprise it was posted by the wonder bolts. I'm not that big on athletic flying, or races, but still. I had seen around town that the wonder bolts would be in town because of a race that's being held, but to think that they would need help like this... I'm sure it'll be interesting. I reached over and grabbed the bill and read more in description.
There wasn't much under the description, all that was said was there's some kind of sky beast blocking the race track above ponyville. Then I kept reading and read the reward and my heart skipped a beat. The reward for this job was ten thousand bits! That's a lot of money. Normally the jobs I take hand out just a couple hundred bits each, but this. I guess it's no surprise since they're a very famous fast flying team. There's no way I'm turning down this job. I smiled and folded up the bill and made my way outside. I kept walking along and tried to remember the address for the place they were staying at. It was 83 rainbow road. I looked around and started making my way around town until I got to rainbow road, which ironically had a rainbow looking across it. I looked around but when I tried to find 83 rainbow road, I couldn't it skipped from 81 to 85. I couldn't find the right address.
"Zack... Look up." Said Itt. I did as she said and looked up and to my surprise 83 rainbow road wasn't just a normal straw roofed house, it was a giant ass house in the clouds. It was where the rainbow was jetting out of and coincidentally the race track for the wonder bolts could be seen close by as well. I just stepped back in the road and wondered how the heck am I supposed to get up there?
"How do I get up there?" I asked.
"Darling... I have wings remember." Said Itt.
"What about the clouds... How do I stand on those?" I asked.
"Fairies can traverse any surface, even clouds..." Said Zaxiel.
"I guess we need to give it a shot..." I said. "Whenever you're ready Itt."
"Let's go." She said. I crouched down and an immense heat began to burn in my back. And in a sudden burst of fire, flames jetted out of my back and began to take the form of angelic wings. They spread out eagle and spanned at least fifteen or twenty feet on each side of me. While they looked like fire, I could feel their physical strength. "As me as your armor right now, you're the one who's going to have to fly..." Said Itt.
I looked back at my wings and took a big gulp and swallowed my nerves. I could feel them, like they were a natural part of me, though it felt strange. I tried to move them and flap them and they did just as I told them. I tried flapping hard and the force lifted me off the air slightly, I wobbled and tried to catch my balance. I kept flapping those fiery wings and kept afloat. I began to flap even harder and soon I began to rise, I was starting to get the hang of this. I flapped my wings as hard as I could and I shot right into the air and flew right past the house. It was a little too much, so I started to let myself drift down. I was only a few inches above the cloud surface just in front of the door to the large house.
I was hesitant on landing because I still felt like if I just tried landing on the clouds I would still fall through and not be able to save myself. So I took it slowly and nervously reached my foot forward to touch the cloud layering. Once my foot tapped the clouds it started to press into them and I thought that I was going to fall through. I kept pressing but I soon felt the pressure of the clouds against my feet and I could tell that they were solid. So once I had a stable leg resting on the clouds I relaxed and landed on the clouds gently. They were soft and plush, very comfortable. It would be nice to have a bed made of clouds, but that's something different. So I smiled at my new achievement and made my way over to the door of the house, which was actually a solid door.
It's not like every day you can just sprout wings and fly; I can barely believe it myself. I kept Itt's wings out though, just in case I should need them still. I made my way over to the door and it was big enough to fit a human through, though I don't understand why it would need to be since I'm probably the first human to ever be here. It's kinda exciting, getting to fly and also seeing the wonder bolts too. I'm not a big fan or anything, but it's still pretty cool. If I help the wonder bolts I'm sure it'll boost my reputation big time. I smiled as I walked over to the front door of the large house and knocked. I waited and suddenly somepony pushed the door open. I wasn't able to hear any hoof steps because of the clouds, but when the door swung open I saw a familiar Pegasus standing there. It was the same cyan colored, rainbow maned Pegasus that I've seen around... More than I'd like to. I was surprised to see her here, but not as surprised as she was.
"W-what the... H-how!?" She said. "What are YOU doing here? How did you even get up here!?"
"Never mind that... What the hell are you doing here?" I asked.
"I LIVE here!" She said. "This is my house, and I have the honor of keeping the wonder bolts here for the tournament so can you please just get outa here and stop ruining my day."
"Well it seems that the days already ruined..." I said holding up the bill. "And now I'm here to fix it."
"God damn it..." She said. "That bill has been posted over like ten different towns. The only reason you found that is because twilight persuaded me to put it up..."
"So this is yours... Well, I'm here to help." I said.
"We don't need your help." She said.
"Hey... Rainbow dash... Who's at the door, some other hero stallion, come to fix the problem?" Asked a voice from inside. Suddenly a orange maned Pegasus walked behind rainbow dash. Her mane was like fire and I knew her face, it was spit fire. She looked at me and just...stared. She rubbed her eyes and kept staring; the look on her face was priceless.
"I'm here to fix the problem." I said holding up the bill.
"Yeah right... We don't need your help, now get out!" Said rainbow dash who slammed the door in my face. I stood there for a moment and waited... I could hear some talking in the house, but none of it was comprehensible.
"What do we do now master...?" Asked Zaxiel.
"We should still help them... I could see the trouble in her eyes." Said Itt.
"You're right... Let's head over to the race track and see what's up." I said. I spread my wings out again and flew into the air. Before I actually went to the race track I took a couple of minutes to fly around and I started to get the hang of this flying business, it's a lot like swimming, but I'm sure that there's a lot more to it than what I already know. So I started flying off to the race track and I started practicing gliding to save energy, but I'm still horrible at flying, I keep losing my balance and I'm wasting a lot of energy. I kept flying and soon I made it over to the track which was a good distance from the house I was just at. The whole place looked abandoned, except for one thing.
Sleeping in the middle of the track was a large beast which could easily span 100 meters. I laid curled up like a snake in the clouds and it's scales were shiny and luminescent. It looked like a huge dragon, but it didn't have and wings. I flew over and soon it noticed me and opened its eyes. It's eyes glowed a bright yellow and it uncoiled itself. It moved through the air like a snake and it had sharp claws and razor blade teeth. It growled at me then let out a shrill roar that cut through the air and forced me to cover my ears. I lifted up my left hand and snapped my fingers towards the beast and a stream of fire shot through the air a incredible speeds, but the large beast moved even faster and dodged. I snaked through the air and suddenly it was right next to me. I've never seen anything move that fast before. I couldn't even move to block as the giant creature loomed over me and opened its gaping maw. It closed its jaws down on me and I just barely had enough time to point Itt upward and as the beast closed down its mouth the great sword pierced through the roof of its mouth.
The beast soon tossed me from its mouth and shrieked in pain. As I whirled through the air I tried to recover so I don't go crashing into the ground, but I couldn't... Luckily though I landed right into the clouds and they were just thick enough to carry my weight and keep me from breaking through. It was a soft landing, but I was completely disoriented. I quickly got back up on my feet and regained my bearings. Just then the beast burst through the clouds behind me and it shot its tail at me. It's tail wrapped around me and it started to constrict me. I could feel it starting to crush my organs and my bones from inside of my body and I let out a holler of pain. I quickly cleared my head and then ignited my whole body with fire. I was surrounded in fire and it began to burn away at the beast's tail. It once again hollered in pain and let me go as it snaked away back into the clouds. I dropped back to the cloud layer on all fours and started coughing and wheezing, I was gasping for air which had been forced out of my body. I kept breathing heavily trying to get air back into my body and I tried to regain focus. This fight isn't going too well...I...I don't think I can do this.
Once more the large beast burst through the cloud layer and slowly brought its head up. It started to growl and open its mouth as a bright light began to well up inside of its mouth. The bright light was like that if sunlight, but it shimmered like a rainbow. I knew it wasn't good news, so I did the only thing I could at that moment. I placed Zaxiel right in front of me as a shield, knowing that in her shield form she would be strong, and I hid behind her as much as I could. Suddenly the large beast let out a fierce roar as a huge beam of pure light phased all around me. The blast caused the clouds around me to start dissipating from the heat. Once the ground below me was visible I could see all of the plant life and the trees begin to wither and soon catch fire and burn intensely. The dragons shout soon dulled down and the heat and the light faded. I waited a moment and then pulled my shield back up and when I looked back I froze in fear.
I lifted Zaxiel back up to see the gaping maw of the giant beast only inches from me as I bright light began to well up inside of its mouth. I could do nothing but stare into the bright light. And suddenly there was a loud roar, and then silence, nothing but the ringing in my ears. I was forced back and my whole body began to sting and burn and I started moving through the air blinded and deafened. I flew through the air and soon fell past the clouds and began falling. I accepted my defeat, I figured that I wouldn't be able to defeat something like that, I got too cocky, and I suppose it would end up being the death of me. Now that I think about it... This really sucks. I'm sorry Itt... I'm sorry.
OVERDRIVE!" Shouted a voice in my head. I didn't know what that meant, but the voice was Zaxiel's. I don't know what she was doing, but suddenly time began to pick up again and I felt an overwhelming power beginning the rush through my body. Then I felt a strange feeling. And I felt like my whole body had just burst, like something had just broke through my skin. And when I looked at myself, I had spikes. Large red spikes that had broken through my skin, like blood. My armor had burst into flames and I felt an incredible rush of power run through my body, my eyes began to change red and glow and burn like fire. I felt my hands grow out like claws, my feet grow more powerful and become like demons talons, my teeth grew sharp and I became angry, and my body hurt. The two things that drive me the most now. Anger which drives fire, and pain which drives blood... I was... In overdrive mode.
I refused to be defeated. And I recovered in the air and flapped my wings with such great force that I boomed through the air at near supersonic speeds. I was only seconds away from the ground. When I flapped my wings I let out a blast of fire behind me which torches the ground under me and I cut a trail of fire through the air back towards the great beast. I cut through the air with my sword in hand which burned fiercely. As I cut through the air I spun no swung my sword slicing through the great beast. As it bled it let out a fierce cry. I rocketed past it and quickly turned around and faced it.
"Zack... I've never felt this kind of power." Said Itt.
"It's my fairy blessing..." Said Zaxiel. "In times of trouble, I can activate an overdrive... Which sends my master into a sudden rush of power."
"Zack... Quickly, use the dragons roar!" Said Itt. I didn't think about it, I just acted like a dragon and took in a deep breath of air. And with a fierce shout I let out a powerful roar and I vicious torrent of flames which swept over the whole area. The flames covers the sky, the track, and the beast. The large beast, wounded now, flew from the flames and darted towards me with snarling teeth. I reacted quicker than ever and spun and slashed my sword right across the beasts face causing it to howl in pain. I quickly pushed my wings back and darted through the air after the beast which was now writhing through the air in pain. I flew quickly up to its side and launched myself towards its head. I planted my feet firmly on the side of its head and jabbed my sword right through its skull. I pulled my sword back out and jabbed it over and over.
The great beast began howling in pain as it soon started to lose altitude and momentum and soon it began falling slowly, and then it was plummeting. I let pulled Itt out from the beast's skull and ran off the beat as it crashed into the ground in the middle of the everfree forest. I quickly floated back down and landed right beside the beast. The creature was still, I couldn't feel anymore life from it, and I knew that I had won. Seeing this, I began to relax. My body stopped burning; the blood spikes receded back into my body. I was the normal me again. I was breathing heavily, my body still burning with pain, but I could withstand it. I walked over to the huge beast and looked at it.
"Zack... Take its scales... Not only are they valuable, but beautiful..." Said Itt. "They would make a great memento of this moment." She said as I walked closer to the beast. I reached down and figured that these scales would be practically fused to the beast's body, but as I reached down and went to pull one off it easily came off, with little effort. I looked at the glimmering scale in my hand and it was somewhat opaque, but still shone brightly and glimmered like a rainbow. I pulled off several more scales and put them in one of the pouches on my belt. Still feeling exhausted and still hurt I lost my balance and fell back on my ass. As I fell back Itt and Zaxiel began to glow and immediately changed back into their normal selves. They knelt down by me and Itt grabbed my hand and held it.
"Master you are in bad condition." Said Zaxiel. "I can feel your heart beetling slower and slower."
"Oh, darling take your shirt off I'll heal you..." Said Itt as she grabbed my shirt and ended taking it off for me. Once it was off we were able to see how bad it was. My skin was burnt badly over most of my body; even my face and I hat cuts and open wounds which bled profusely.
"Here..." Said Zaxiel as she held up her hands and they began to glow blood red. I watched as the blood that had poured out of my body and stained my shirt began to flow back into my body and the bleeding reversed and then stopped. "I've fixed the bleeding, Itt... You heal him."
"Don't worry... You're going to be fine..." Said Itt who's hands began to glow a faint green and she began to caress my body with her warm touch which reversed all of my damages. Broken skin and burnt flesh began to mend and heal. Open wounds began to close and my body started to heal over, though I was still badly scarred, it's a good thing that these wounds are fresh enough to not leave much scarring. Still, one spot which had been cry badly burnt was discolored and the skin a bit rubbery and it did leave a nasty looking scar which wasn't much problem. Itt finished healing the wounds over my chest, back, and legs and I was feeling much better despite the blood I've already lost.
"Thank you... Itt..." I said smiling and she smiled back. "And you two Zaxiel... If it weren't for you I'd probably be dead."
"Please... It wasn't much..." She said blushing. "I'm just glad you're safe... I'd never let a master as nice as you are get hurt..." She smiled at me and I just smiled back at her.
"Let's hope that never happens again... That was a strange feeling." I said.
"It was... So what is your fairy blessing again?" Asked Itt.
"Overdrive..." Said Zaxiel. "It can only be activated once I sense that my master's heart is about to stop, and he's close to death." She said. "I allows me to force all of my current power into him, ultimately tripling his own power and creating emotions which drive him to be stronger. Such as making him feel anger, which made him stronger because of the fire... And the spikes that you saw, which cause pain, which allows blood magic to become stronger."
"But I didn't use any blood magic." I said.
"But you had my powers temporarily." She said. "It's like the same bond that you share with Itt... My blood magic allowed adrenaline to vigorously begin pumping through your body, making you faster, stronger, and more perceptive. That strange feeling you had must have been the combination of fire and blood magic, which could be a very powerful mix. My blood magic also allowed more oxygen to be filtered into you allowing you to function better, and it stopped any bleeding at the time as well as it began to manually repair any wounds on your body, before Itt healed you, you were in much worse shape. Not only that, but if you had been struck the blood in that area would have involuntarily hardened, like steel and protected you from any serious internal damage."
"So it's like a super buffer..." I said. "Adrenaline, hyper tension... And it acts as a protective shell..."
"Yes." Said Zaxiel. "Every element provides its own advantage." She said. "Fire is a very devastating element and can be used for immense destructive purposes, but provides almost no protection, while Blood magic provides adequate healing and acts as the ultimate protection. After all... You can't die if you don't bleed."
"But I imagine that it doesn't act as a very offensive magic." Said Itt. "I don't think that you can just go shooting balls of blood at monsters... That would be counterproductive."
"That's true... But I can control others blood and make it boil or freeze, or control them... But that requires a great amount of magical power."
"Well... It is what it is..." I said. "Now... I think we should head back... I'm feeling better now, albeit a bit dizzy... But I'll be fine."
" we should change back then..." Said Itt. Zaxiel just nodded and they started to glow and then morphed back onto my body as my armor and weapons. I stood back up and stretched my arms and started to make my way out of the forest back into the outer edge of ponyville. Itt summoned her wings and I flapped them as hard as I could and took off into the air. I stumbled and kept dropping a bit because I was dizzy from the fight. I flew my way back over to rainbow dashes house and landed right by the door. I stumbled a bit and then reached over and knocked on the door. It wasn't long before the same pony from before answered the door and she gave me a sneer as she looked at me.
"What do you want?" She asked. "Decide to check out the dragon... I bet it scared you off, I could hear it roar from here... I bet you probably wet yourself." I didn't say anything; I just reached into the pouch on my belt and pulled out one of the scales from the dragon. And held it in front of her and she looked at it. "What's this?"
"One of the scales of the dragon... You want more? I've got plenty more... And I can get plenty more." I said.
"N-no... I don't believe you, you've gotta be lying." She said.
"Hey... Who is it this time?" Asked a familiar voice as spit fire walked back up to the door again and stared at me. "This guy... Hey... What's your deal? Is this that guy who got you in the snout?"
"Yes..." She admitted brashly.
"What was with all that noise?" Asked spit fire. "Are you okay dude? You look pale."
"I... Dragon... Fighting... Scales... Blood loss... Tired." I said barely choking out words as I ended up falling to my knees and then falling on my back and started breathing heavily trying to catch my breath. Spitfire walked over and peered over at me.
"You okay dude?" She asked. I held up the dragons scale and showed it to her. "Whoa... Now way, you killed that thing... That's badass for a human."
"T-thanks..." I said.
"I still don't believe you..." Said rainbow dash.
"The...corpse landed... Over in the forest... That way." I said.
"Yo, captain... You'll never believe what I just saw when I was out practicing." Said another voice as a stallion rounded the corner of the house in his wonder bolts suit. He had his hood down so we could see his face. He had a light blue coat and a blue mane, though I don't know his name.
"What is it?" She asked.
"I just saw some guy with wings totally waste that dragon...wait... THATS THE GUY!" He said shouting and swooping over.
"Well... That proves it then." Said spitfire. "Nice work kid..." She said giving me a light kick on my side. I was starting to feel my blood loss now.
"Hey... Guy... Are you okay?" Asked the other stallion.
"No... I've lost a lot of blood." I said.
"You don't look hurt..." Said spitfire.
"I healed... It's a long story... Please help." I asked.
"Uh, yeah... C'mon... Let's get him inside." Said spitfire. She and the other stallion picked me up and carried me inside where they rested me down on a couch.
"Hey... I don't want that guy in my house..." Said rainbow dash.
"Oh, suck it up." Said spitfire. "I know you probably hate the guy... But it's not like he's gonna be living here."
"Yeah..." Said the stallion. "He really saved our flanks on this one by getting rid of the dragon, the tournaments in just a few days and nopony else could do it..."
"Plus we at least owe him a place to rest for a bit while he regains his strength." Said spit fire. "Thank you..." She said as she turned around to face me.
"Yeah... No problem." I said.
"I'll go get your reward... And you can rest here for a while." She said. "I'm sure rainbow dash would be kind enough to get you something to drink." She said turning back and glaring at rainbow dash. I could feel her giving her the evil eye.
"Yeah... Whatever." She said walking into the kitchen area. Spit fire just rolled her eyes and smiled at me.
"You should try making nice with her...she isn't that bad...just stubborn." Said spit fire. I just smiled and she and the other stallion floated off to some other part of the house just as rainbow dash floated over with a red bottled drink in her hoof. She tossed it over to me and I failed to catch it and it just hit my chest. I picked it up and it was a sports drink. I just looked at it with confusion.
"Uhm... Thanks..." I said.
"Well... It's all we got right now..." She said. "What do you expect from a house full of athletes?" She asked.
"It's fine... In fact it's perfect, good thing to rehydrate me and refresh those electrolytes... Or whatever." I said twisting off the cap and taking a big drink of the red fruity beverage. It tasted very sweet and it really hit the spot. "Thank you... And uh...I'm... I'm sorry." I said.
"Yeah? Sorry for what?" She asked.
"For uh... Well, you know... Punching you, in the... Uh... In the face." I said.
"Well... Whatever..." She said. "You should be sorry..."
"I am... I've started to get a bit more conscious of others... So, I know that it might have gotten a bit mad back then, and I know that punching you in the face probably wasn't the right thing to do... So...I'm sorry... I really am." I said.
"Well... I... Probably shouldn't have been saying all that stuff to you..." She said. "I still don't like you though..."
"Fair enough..." I said. I put the sports drink back up to my lips and took another swig and nearly finished the drink.
"Here you are..." Said spitfire who walked in with a check in her hoof. "It's a check for ten grand, just like the bill said. We don't know your name, so we left the name slot blank."
"You can fill it out to Zachary Miles..." I said.
"Sure thing." She said floating over to a desk in the corner and grabbing a pen and scribbling down my name. She flew back over and handed it back to me. "Here you are."
"Thanks..." I said taking the check and putting it in one of my pouches. I drank the rest of the drink and laid back on the soft cloud couch.
"So... What city did you fly out form?" Asked spitfire.
"Ponyville... I'm a local adventurer" I said.
"Oh... So you're that guy on the news... Sweet. I didn't recognize you at first." She said. "I didn't think that we had posted a notice here?"
"Uh... I did, my friend knows him... She made me post a notice last night..."said dash.
"Which friend?" Asked spitfire. "Is it the purple one from yesterday, the really smart and talkative one?"
"Yeah... That one." Replied dash.
"Well...it seems we lucked out." She said. "C'mon... We should trace the track now that it's safe... Let's go..." She said nudging the stallion and they both flew off leaving just me and rainbow dash here. We stood there in silence for a little while and dash's face started to get a little red, I could tell she was embarrassed.
"So... You must like the wonder bolts..." I said.
"Y-yeah... I love watching them... They're my favorite team..." She said.
"So I guess it must be nice..." I said.
"Why are you talking to me?" She asked with a snappy attitude.
"Why are you listening to me?" I asked.
"Ugh... Because I've got nothing better to do." She said. "The wonder bolts might not like me as much if I didn't make sure you were alright... You did save them a whole ton of trouble... So they must be grateful... I'm just doing this in my own interest." She said. I just smirked a little and chuckled to myself because it was funny how stubborn she was.
"Oh... I wish I could help you right now darling... But I probably shouldn't change back with her right there." Said Itt in my head.
"So... Do you talk to twilight often?" I asked.
"Yes..." She said with a grumpy attitude.
"Has she said anything about me to you?" I asked.
"Not much... Just regular stuff..." Said dash. "Not like I care anyway what she says about you."
"You really hate my guts... Don't you?" I asked smiling.
"Of course I do... You punched me in the face!" She shouted.
"I thought I already apologized for that..."
"Yeah...well I still don't like you." She said. "
"Master..." Said Zaxiel. "If you wish... I could start hyper-producing blood for you, though you'll get really hungry."
"Sure thing" I said in my head. With that said Zaxiel began to glow red and soon a red blood like mist began to seep around me and then quickly vanished. Already I felt one hundred times better. My dizziness and lightheadedness went away and color began to return to my body and my cheeks.
"What the heck was that?" Asked dash.
"Oh... Nothing." I said. "I should be going now..." I said getting up and walking to the door as Itt used her powers to create wings of fire behind me and they spread eagle and then retracted back to my side.
"Wait... Hold up." Said dash. "You still aren't well."
"Actually, I feel great...bye then... And thanks for the drink." I said as I opened the door and then flapped my wings hard and took off into the air. I flew down to the ground and landed near to everfree forest. As I landed Itt and Zaxiel glowed and then. Returned to their normal forms. Itt was wearing the usual red skirt with black flames and black linen bandages. And Zaxiel wore the black and red maids outfit with the collar around her neck. They both looked at me and smiled.
"Well... What should we do now?" I asked.
"Hmm... It's getting late." Said Itt. "We might not have enough time to get Zaxiel a bed for her room."
"I don't Mind... I can sleep on the floor." She said.
"No...You're not sleeping on the floor." I said. I held up my arm and looked at my watch; it was close to seven thirty. Shops usually close at eight, and from here it will take us too much time to go and get Zaxiel a bed. "Hmm..." I said pondering on the situation. Suddenly the silence was broken by a deep and loud rumbling which emanated from my stomach. The embarrassment made me blush.
"Oh no... Master, if you're hungry then we should get you some food, quickly." Said Zaxiel.
"I know..." Said it coming up with a sudden idea. "Most bakeries are closing right about now... But all the restaurants stay open later than the shops."
"Yeah... Let's go out to eat." I said. "We should get pizza!" I said happily, to which both Zaxiel and Itt looked very confused.
"Pizza...?" They both said in unison.
"Oh my... Well..." I said. "It's not much of a surprise that you two haven't heard of this." I said.
"What is it?" Asked Itt.
"Well... It's like break, but it got tomato sauce and cheese. And you can get it with meats and vegetables, and other things on it." I said.
"That sounds good...we should get pizza!" Said Itt excitedly.
"Y-yes... Master." She said reluctantly. I just smiled and rolled my eyes.
"C'mon... I know a place that sells good pizza." I said leading Itt and Zaxiel back into town. We started to make our through the streets as the sun started to set and dusk began to settle. There were fewer people out now, even in the north end of ponyville. We kept making our way around until we came across a local pizza joint simply called "Jerry's". It wasn't some huge chain restaurant, just local food, but it was good. It was still open, so me and the girls went inside and there were a few people in here, some teenagers hanging out in the back making noise. When we walked in pretty much everybody turned looked at us, and their eyes fell mostly on Itt and Zaxiel. We just walked over to one of the booths and sat down. "What kind of pizza should we get?"
"Well... What kinds are there?" Asked Itt. I showed them the menu and we went over it and chose our food. I got up from the table and made my way over to the front counter and ordered our food. I ordered drinks for us, a soda for me and iced tea for Zaxiel and Itt. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza for me and a large veggie pizza for the girls. I waited patiently and once the food was done I took it back to our table and sat down. Itt sat with Zaxiel and I sat on the other side of the table. I put the pizza down and started to my pizza. Itt and Zaxiel just looked at theirs.
"How do we eat this?" Asked Itt.
"Hold it like this...and eat from the pointed end to the crust." I aid showing them by sting a piece myself. Itt picked up a piece and ate it just the way that I did. She bit off a piece and ate it and then a happy expression ran across her face.
"It's so good!" She said as she happily continued to eat her pizza. Zaxiel grabbed a piece next and ate it just like I showed Itt and she smiled too.
"Wow... This is good." She said and they both began to happily eat away at their food. We sat there and we ate our food and talked about regular stuff. We started to make plans for tomorrow, and the whole time I couldn't shake this annoying feeling that I had. There was a booth at the end of the pizza place, not too far from where we were sitting. In that booth was a group of five teenage boys who were talking and they kept glancing back over at us. They weren't doing a good job of keeping quiet and I could hear everything they were saying. They were talking about Itt's boobs and Zaxiel in her maids outfit. They thought I was some kind of pervert, and I can handle people talking about me like that, but it made me angry to hear them talking about Itt and Zaxiel.
"Master... Those boys over there keep talking about us." Said Zaxiel as her expression changed.
"I know... And don't call me master in public." I said.
"Sorry..." She said. I was going to say something else until Itt got up and I watched as she walked over to the table full of teenagers. She had a very disgruntled look on her face as she crossed her arms and glared at the teens.
"Could you please stop talking about us...? We can hear you from our table." She said in a scolding voice.
"Why don't you put some clothes on then...?" Said one of the teens in the back. Realizing that she was a bit exposed, Itt blushed and then covered up her chest.
"Hey, don't worry... We're just having some fun." Said another teen. At that point I got up and walked over and put my hand on the table and stared at the five teens.
"Then why don't you have fun with me instead..." I said glaring at them.
"Hey, we're just having some fun with this lovely lady here." Said another teen.
"That's my wife..." I said.
"Oooh... Damn dude...!" Said another one.
"I'd appreciate it if you'd all be quiet." I said.
"And what if we don't?" Asked one of the teenagers as they all stood up from their seats. I was about to say something until Zaxiel walked over and stepped in front of me.
"If you even think about harming my master, then I'll be forced to destroy you." Said Zaxiel with a very stern voice. The teenagers didn't seem threatened by this at all.
"Did she just call you master!?" One of them said as they all started to laugh and they sat back down. I didn't even realize that she had called me master again... Damnit.
"Hey hey... What's going in over here?" Asked a voice in a very relaxed and happy attitude. I looked over to see that some guy had just walked into the pizza shop... And to my great surprise he had a sword strapped to his back. I just looked at him as he walked over.
"Who the hell are you!?" Asked the teenagers.
"Me... Nobody special really." Said the guy. I came here trying to kill that sun dragon that nested in the speedway for the fastest flyer competition... I was gonna kill it and get the reward from the wonder bolts, but believe it or not, somebody beat me to it." He said. "So I'm just here trying to grab a slice, and it seems that I've interrupted this little scene." I stopped and got a good look at the guy. He was a human, average height with a well toned body. He wore a suit of armor, like a knight and it was steelish grey with blue trimmings. Strapped to his side was a long sword hidden in its sheath and on his back was a shield. He didn't wear a helmet so I could see his face. He had faint green eyes, fair skin, and blonde hair which was pretty long.
"Hey... You're an adventurer!" Said Itt.
"That I am miss..." He said smiling. "I was also kinda hoping I could see this other adventurer guy that's been hanging out around these parts... Seems I've missed him though, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the guy that killed the sun dragon." He said. "So... Y'all weren't causing any trouble now... Were you?" He asked gleaming at us all.
"N-no... Actually we were just leaving." Said one of the teens as he got up and left the seat. "Let's go guys..." He said as they all got up and walked out giving me evil glances. Some of them laughed as they exited and once they were gone everything was quiet. I waited a couple seconds and then let out a sigh of relief.
"That happen a lot around these parts?"
"Not very... They were just some annoying high school punks..." I said. "They weren't doing any harm."
"So are you an actual adventure?" Asked Itt excitedly.
"Yes I am... What gave it away...? The suit of armor."
"I'd say it was the sword... Maybe the big shield." I said. He just chuckled a bit and smiled.
"I'm sir. Varner." He said. "I'm a knight of the sun circle..."
"A knight... So you're one of the royal guards... One of the elite types." I said as we both shook hands.
"I was sent here by her majesty to take care of a certain problem in the area... But looks like you beat me to it." He said smiling. The fact that he mentioned that I beat him to it made me freeze, does he know who I am?"
"Eh... What do you mean...? I didn't beat you to anything!" I said nervously.
"Oh c'mon..." He said smiling. "I recognize another adventurer, even without their armor..."
"Is it that obvious?" I asked in a defeated tone.
"Not very... I'd say you've got a good disguise so long as nobody knows who you really are... But I've got a sixth sense when it comes to this kind of thing."
"Well... Damn." I said. "How could you tell?"
"Well... I almost mistook it for perfume... But I realized it was you who smelt like dragons blood, which smells sweet."
"D-dragon blood!" I said. "I didn't think that kind of stuff had a scent." I didn't even notice it until now but I do have a strangely sweet scent, kinda like mixed berries.
"Plus the scales are sticking out of your pocket..." He said pointing to one of my pockets where you could see the incandescent scales poking out slightly.
"Well... I guess you figured it out." I said smiling nervously. "Well... Since the secrets out... My names Zachary Miles." I said. "And yes... I'm the adventurer that's been around these parts."
"I know that this might sound a bit unprofessional... But is it true... Can you really use magic?" He asked looking at me eagerly. I just smiled and rolled my eyes. I lifted up my left hand and the tattoos on my arm glowed a burning orange red as a ball of flames burst to life in the palm of my hands. I held it there for a second and then closed my hand into a fist and once I let go the fire ball was gone and my tattoos stopped glowing. "That's amazing!"
"Uh... Thanks..." I said.
"There are a lot of things I want to ask you actually..." He said. "Why don't you go sit down...? I'm going to grab a slice, and then we can talk."
"Uh... Yeah, sure..." I said a bit nervously. Me and Itt and Zaxiel walked back to the table and sat down. I finished the last slice of my pizza and Zaxiel and Itt finished their pizza as they sat down on either side of me. It took a few minutes but then Sir. Varner walked back over with a small mushroom and onion pizza and sat down across from us.
"So... What are your names?" Asked Varner looking at Itt and Zaxiel.
"My names Itt..." She said.
"It?" He said confused.
"Itt is spelled it two T's..." I said holding up two fingers.
"And my name is Zaxiel..."
"Uh-huh... Those are some... Interesting names..." He said.
"What's your full name?" I asked.
"Marcus... I'm Marcus Varner." He said as he picked up a slice of pizza and proceeded to devour the whole thing within a few seconds... It was kinda scary. For an average guy he must have one hell of an appetite. "Mmmm... This is good." He said. "Anyway... What's your relationship with these two women?" He asked me.
"Oh... Well. Itt is my wife... We got married not too long ago." I said as she smiled and grabbed my hand.
"Congratulations..."
"And Zaxiel is Itt's cousin..." I said making up a quick lie.
"She came over not too long ago because her parents are going through some hard times right now." She said going along with the lie which was surprising.
"My parents live in Coltsdale... But I moved here because Itt is the closest family I have..."
"Poor girl..." He said. "But I'm sure it'll all be fine in the end."
"So what else is it you wanted to ask me?" I asked.
"Well... I came to this town for two reasons." He said. His face changed and he became very serious, before he had a relaxed and easy going expression, but now that's gone. "While I did come here to slay the dragon, that was only my secondary objective... My real purpose here is you!" He said.
"Me?" I asked.
"I want you to join our guild in Canterlot, the sun circle knights." He said.
"Guild... So you aren't one of the royal guards." I said.
"Her we allow their princess to make requests of us as if we were the guards... Be we don't have a proper standing with her." He said.
"So you want...me...to join a guild." I said.
"You might still be a little green... But you have invaluable skills and you show great promise... The guild master sent me here as a means to recruit you... I'm sure you've got other guilds to think about jointing though." He said.
"Actually... You're the first person who's tried to recruit me..." I said.
"Really!?" He said surprised. "Well that's good..."
"I'm not so sure exactly how these guilds even work..." I said.
"Oh it's simple..." He said. "A guild is basically just a huge tavern full of adventurers who accept high paying quests, when we have free time we just sit around, drink, play games, gamble, and joke. Sometimes we even like to fight each other... Try and figure out who's the strongest... The fights are safe of course... No point in killing off our own members." He said. "So... What do you say? You want in?"
"I... Don't know... I'm going to have to think it over." I said.
"Well..." He said getting up from the table. "You take some time... Think it over; I'll be in town waiting for your answer... If you need me, I'll most likely be in the wooly sheep by the notice board... Gotta keep busy, even on the job..." He said as he started walking away. "Good night..." He said as he walked out and left the pizza parlor. I watched as he walked away and once he was gone I let out a sigh.
"Oh man... It never ends does it?" I said.
"Darling... Are you feeling well?" Asked Itt.
"Yes I'm fine... I just... I just never thought that I would end up getting caught in something like this." I said.
"I was surprised that it didn't happen sooner." Said Itt.
"That man seemed very eager to have you join..." Said Zaxiel. "And with you being able to use magic the way you can, I doubt he'll give up the chase even if you turn him down." She said.
"She's right..." Said Itt. "Guilds always clamor to have the most power. The more power a guild has the more famous it becomes, and more fame means more jobs with higher paying rates."
"I don't think it'll be long before more recruiters from different guilds come searching for you... In fact, I feel that there are others in the town already." Said Zaxiel.
"What are you going to do darling." Asked Itt. "I'm not your slave anymore, but whichever you choose, I'll follow you."
"I don't know..." I said. "I think... I think I'll wait... See what happens, and then when the time is right I'll make a decision. Joining a guild might not be so bad... But there are problems..."
"Like what?" Asked Itt.
"Well, I don't want to go too far from this town... I still need to protect ponyville... Besides, I've got friends here that I can't abandon... And what's more, if we do join a guild... They might find out our secret... In fact, I don't know how much longer we can keep up the charade..." I said.
"I think that it might be best...if people do know." Said Itt. "Keeping me a secret, might be problematic."
"You're right... But I don't want to worry about that right now..." I said. "I think we should head back home now."
"Alright... But make sure you try your best to make the right decision..." Itt said as we got up to leave the pizza place.
"Don't worry Itt... I will..."
-Authors Note: okay, so this chapter was a bit long but there was quite a few things in here. you've met the new fairy and hopefully you like her, if not... too bad. the next couple of chapters are going to focus around Zaxiel like how the last couple of chapters focused on itt. im not sure how long its going to last, but a few chapters... four at the least. im still not sure where im really going with this story, but i have a general idea. im also not sure if ism going to add any more fairies to the group... i still haven't decided. but I'm encouraging people to help me out by giving me ideas of new fairies that i can add into the story. if you want to make your own fairy with their own element, let me know and we can work on it. if its good enough i might just put it in the story. also on a similar note, i have decided that I'm not going to be putting any OC's into this story... as of now. it may change later on once ive opened up the world a little bit more, but everything is as cramped as i can handle it. i wont accept OC's at this time... but i may be will to in the future, i apologize if ive disappointed anybody.
anyway. i hope you guys have enjoyed this new chapter, i know that i have, and I'm having a lot of fun writing this, and I'm glad that you all like the story so much. i never figured it would get this popular, and i also never figured it would get to be this ridiculous either. I've also noticed that my story is starting to resembled the basis of pretty much every harem anime EVER...! this was only partially intentional. so yeah, make sure to follow me and the story, and be sure to check out the other ones if you've got the time, and make sure to leave a review... they always help. i'll see you guys next time...
