BRUCE WAYNE

I looked curiously at the bill that was placed on the coffee table. It was addressed to Verena, but she wasn't there.

Normally, I didn't bother with that Dick and Verena did with their money. It was theirs. They earned it working hard, and could do whatever they wanted with it… if it was legal (unless you counted vigilante activities).

"Oh, welcome back, Bruce," I heard Verena greet me. I turned to see her step into the room, dressed in a pair of jeans and a black tank top. She also had a stick of cotton candy with her, which explained why the television was on. She was probably watching something until she wanted sweets.

Dick wasn't behind her, so I assumed they were still fighting. It made me wonder just when they'd kiss and make up already. Literally. I know what physical frustration does.

But as long as their actions on the field weren't affected, I couldn't really do anything… Or maybe I should lock them in a closet.

"Why do you have a bill for two-thousand dollars to a sports club in Star City?" I asked her, remember what I was reading.

Her eyes widened and she looked down at her feet, shuffling them slightly.

"I uh… Kinda broke a punching bag and mirror…" she said almost sheepishly.

I arched a brow in interest, and the corner of my lips twitched as I resisted the urge to smile. It didn't surprise me that she had the strength to do that. She could know out full-grown men with a single punch.

"Why?" I asked instead.

"I had some steam to burn off so I went boxing with Roy," she informed me. Well, that I knew. It was after the Team "kidnapped" Zatanna and before Dick and Verena's fight… or was it right after?

Alfred told me they were arguing when they got back that night.

The lightbulb then went off in my head.

Oh.

A flitter of a smile appeared on my face and Verena quirked an eyebrow.

"What?" she asked curiously.

"I'll take care of it," I said, taking the bill from the table.

"It's not that much. I have more than enough to pay for it," she told me, even though I already knew.

"Let me," I insisted. "If I find out you tried to pay, I'll transfer more money into your account."

"At least let me do something," she frowned.

The smile I had on my face grew a bit more. "How about some steak and mashed potatoes for dinner and then an apple pie for dessert?"

Verena grinned back at me. "Deal."

I walked away, whistling a tune. I find out why my kids are fighting and I get a lovely dinner from my daughter?

They should get jealous at each other more often.

I can cheer Verena up and get some dinner out of it.

A/N: Hah. Bruce helps and gets some benefits out of it. xD Remember to review/request~! :)
