A/N: Ugh. I fail at back-to-back posting. I got food poisoning Thursday afternoon, loaded with homework that same night, and I also felt very crappy and wanted to get sick. Thankfully, I'm not sick and my stomach pains have been gone for the most part. So here's an update of Kaldur/Verena requested by dracula-key.

KALDUR'AHM

I stepped onto the warm sand of the beach in front of the Cave, relishing in the soft feel of it on my feet and in-between my toes. I took a deep breath, and I felt my body relax when the fresh saltiness filled my nostrils.

I spotted a patch of yellow that stood out against the blueness of the ocean and walked closer. As I did, the scent of sunshine and vanilla mixed in with the salt, and I realized who it was.

Black Falcon sat with her back to me, but through experience, I knew that she was aware of my presence.

Despite my intrusion in her personal thoughts, she continued to sit on the sand, her knees pulled to her chest with her arms circling around her legs protectively. She rested her chin on her knees, staring out into the ocean from behind her dark sunglasses.

Her long, silky strands of blonde hair blew gently with the wind, giving her a serene, yet slightly troubled look.

There was no denying Black Falcon's beauty, which reflected on Roy and Robin's obvious attraction towards her, though I wasn't aware if she knew or not.

"Hey," Black Falcon greeted before I said anything.

"Hello," I responded. "Would you like to be alone?"

She was silent, thinking it through clearly before saying, "No. I don't mind. Have a seat." She reached over and patted the sand next to her before placing her arm back around her lower limbs.

I sat down next to her, and I heard a few seagulls screech above us as they soared in the air.

"If you don't mind me asking," I started, "does this have anything to do with your fight with Robin?"

"Oh?" Black Falcon inquired. "You noticed?"

"It's quite obvious, if you don't mind me being blunt," I replied. "You and Robin are usually attached to the hip. If not, you two are aware of where the other is. When I asked Robin earlier, he simply shrugged and walked away."

"Yeah," she agreed. "We kind of had an argument."

"I might not know you two very well, but is it prudent of me to presume this is your first?"

"No," she shook her head. "It is our first. I dunno. Usually, he and I can think on the same level. Do you know what I'm talking about?"

I nodded, knowing exactly what she was talking about. There was just an understanding between the two that came naturally, never through practice.

"There's never been a misunderstanding between us," Black Falcon said, hugging her legs tighter. She seemed very small, almost meek, very much unlike the tough, headstrong girl that I worked with. Then she exhaled deeply. "Sorry I'm unloading all of this onto you, Kaldur."

"It is fine," I assured her. "We are not only teammates, but we are also friends, are we not?"

Black Falcon turned to me, and I saw the corner of her lips curl. "Yeah," she agreed. "We are."

A/N: Also, did you guys hear about Justin Bieber Instagram-ing a pic of the Batman vs. Superman script? I have nothing against him, but ohmygod please don't let him play Robin. :| Review/request~!
