Disclaimer: I don't own anything in this story but the idea.

A/N: Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Time passed by so fast and before I knew it a year has passed and I know some of you probably think this story has been abandoned but I swear to you it isn't! I could never abandon one of my babies, especially when it is three stories in and almost half way to the end of the last book! I hope this makes up for it! If not I'm going to be busting my butt to get another chapter out in a month for Spring Break! And we're going to skim over Sayo for this chapter to build more on the Union's side of things for a little bit. She will be back next chapter though.

xXx Koh xXx

10 Days.

Or at least that is what the timer is telling us, at the very most we have ten days left before all hell breaks loose and we are on the verge of an all-out war with the Demon Lords. At the very least? Who knows, if they decide to act sooner we won't be anywhere near ready to take them on without some sort of disadvantage to our side. Either way, no one was really ready for what was to come.

Well, unless you were Chief Julia.

She was so ready and in my opinion was completely itching for a fight to take back Sayo. She's like a mother bear and taking one of her cubs was a mistake no normal or sane digimon would want to make.

But the sanity of the Demon Lords has never really been there anyways.

But speaking of the Chief she was currently barking out orders to a few groups of Tamers, and by the looks of it she hasn't slept since yesterday. She's obviously showered and changed her clothes, but the darkness under her eyes were a dead giveaway that she probably hasn't left this room since the meeting yesterday. Someone, namely Raigo, needs to come and relieve her before she compromises her health by overworking herself. We still have at least a couple days left to prepare and get organised so she shouldn't be trying to push herself so early on.

"Chief." Ah, speak of the devil. Raigo is finally here.

Dismissing the Tamers she turns to look at him, "Yes? What is it Raigo?"

"I think it's about time you go and rest up. You've been here 28 hours straight, you need some rest. I'll take care of things here, go take a nap or something. You could really use it."

"There isn't time for me to nap when we still need to prepare." She snapped back.

Oooh, this was no good.

A snappy Chief Julia is not a good thing and not what anyone needs on their hands right now, but thankfully Raigo has had years of experience and knows how to deal with it. Or at least attempt to deal with.

"C'mon now Chief, you're too sleep deprived right now for any of this. You're scaring the Tamers, and yes I know we are Night Claws and everything but they're still kids. Besides, take a nap now so you don't crash later, eh?"

"No, we need everyone working and I can't nap if I am needed." She turned to face the screen, which was running an analysis on various areas and displayed reports from Tamers all around the Union. Even the system seemed overloaded.

"I see where you're coming from, I really do, but you need to relax and rest up. We've got a few days, or at least 2 before everything goes to shit. So take the chance to rest and recharge. God knows you haven't gotten any decent sleep in forever and you've been running on empty for a good week and a half now. Take some time, self-care, ya'know the stuff you always yell at us for? I promise everything will be intact when you come back, I'm not that shitty at second-in-command. And who knows, maybe I'll actually get stuff done."

Chief Julia let out a defeated sigh and her shoulders slumped a little and for the first time I realised how tired she must be, and it makes me wonder how Chief Glare is doing. Is he as tired as she is?

"Just take care of things for me Raigo, the system has been running all night and by the looks of it it's almost done. And make sure to gather the reports of the returning teams. Sukikiyo should be back in a few hours from his rounds, he'll have more reports for you. And don't forget to-"

"-read it, and enter in the necessary information to the system and send it over the Chief Glare. Yeah, yeah, I know how it works. Just go and get some rest and leave it to me." He smiled before moving to push her out of the room.

"Don't push me out of my own Union Room Raigo." She smacked his arm away before turning to walk to the warp pad, which was in my direction. She nodded at me before brushing past to hopefully head home to get some sleep. The wooshing sound behind me told me she was gone and I made my way up the where Raigo stood.

"Ah! Hey, there Koh. How long have you been there?" Raigo was logging into the system and placing himself as current in command and updating the status to all the Tamers before letting Zanbamon out of his digivice.

"Got here while Chief Julia was still handing out orders to some Tamers. Has she really been here almost 30 hours?" He didn't look at me, instead he went to check the system's status and look through the submitted reports.

"Yeah, pretty much. She was here pretty early yesterday before the meeting and after you all left we stayed to go over some stuff with Chief Glare, Litton, and the DATS members. After that we stayed pretty late and I turned in around 1ish...? Woke up not too long ago and went to see if the Chief was home in case she overslept. Which by the way happens more often than you would think with someone like her. Impmon said that she hadn't been home since yesterday morning so I figured that she was trying to pull one of those hectic work streaks."

"Sounds like it happens a lot." Now I have to wonder if Chief Glare did anything like that. I always turned in kind of early so I've never been around late enough to see him work.

"Oh yeah. Happens way too often. She's just a bit too committed to the work, I remember days when she was so overworked that she mixed up Union Quests. Now that was not something you wanted something to happen, because you know a Search Quest for a Gold Rank is not the same as a Search Quest for a Normal Rank."

"Did she really?"

"Yeah, fortunately she caught it in time and fixed it before they could be taken up. But anyways, what can I do for you Koh?"

"Chief Glare wanted me to check in with you guys and see if you needed help with anything. Considering you guys are apparently heading up a lot of the work makes us Light Fangs feel kinda useless. Sayo's your Tamer and all but she's a Union Tamer and our friend too.

I was pretty damn ready to convince Raigo on letting us be more a part of the search but he beat me to it.

"Yeah, I know. We'll let you all have your part in it too. We're just waiting on Sukikiyo to come back with more intel before we distribute more quests to your side. Believe it or not we have our pride too. Gotta make a good impression on the Light Fangs, so we need our bases covered beforehand. 'Sides Chief Julia is kind of a perfectionist with our image, don't want any mistakes later if we can prevent them now." He smiled and patted my shoulder.

The warp pad again sounded alerting us to incoming Tamers. I turned to see a group of Silver Ranked Tamers. Leading the group was a boy with messy brown hair and dark brown-arguably black-eyes. He wore a grey shirt with graffiti designs on, a black jacket and dark pants. His team bandana was tied around his bicep, much like how Sayo had her's. His digivice around his neck like the rest of us. He gave off a very calm feeling and I assumed he was the team leader. Well, that and they were walking in using standard formation when taking a Team Quest.

The girl to his left had dark blue hair that was tied up and grey eyes. She wore a simple black T-shirt with ripped grey jeans. Her bandana was tied around her neck and her digivice hung from her belt. She gave off a very confident personality, especially with the way she walked and was smiling at her team.

To the right of the boy was another boy, he had dark blond-or maybe light brown-hair and violet eyes. He wore a crisp white button up and dark pants. His bandana wasn't anywhere to be seen and neither was his digivice. Right off the bat I got a haughty feeling from this kid, seen way too many like him. Was even one myself back when I first started, hell, probably still one now but I knew his type.

The three of them walk up and stood in front of us; well more like Raigo but I was next to him so it counted.

"Raigo? Where's the Chief?" The brunet boy spoke looking around before his eyes landed on me. His teammates were already staring and no doubt they knew who I was.

"She's currently out right now Chris. Got some things to take of back home, she's got other things to do too you know? But anyways, I'm here instead until she gets back. You three have never been here while I've been in command huh?" They stared at him and shook their heads before letting their eyes slide back to me.

Yesh, talk about gawking.

"I suppose we should do introductions since you keep staring at my boy Koh over here." A smirk played in Raigo's lips as he motioned toward me. I guess he was cueing me to start off.

"Koh Hamasaki. Gold Rank of the Light Fangs. It's nice to meet you." I nodded my head at them and extended a hand.

"My name's Christopher but everyone calls me Chris. It's nice to meet you." The brunet smiled and took my hand and give it a firm shake.

"I'm Annita, I have lots of nicknames but Annita is just fine too. I'm glad to finally meet you! And I'm glad you'll be bringing Sayo back." The girl smiled warmly before giving my hand a quick squeeze.

"I'm William. It's a pleasure." The last boy shook my hand briefly before withdrawing back to his team.

"These three are some of our newly promoted Silver Ranks. They all passed the promotion exam with flying colours. Some of the best matches we've seen in a while." Raigo looked rather pleased with them and the three were positively preening at hearing his words. Raigo didn't particularly like to show off or talk up the Tamers so if what he's saying is true then I'll be expecting to see these three rise up ranks pretty fast.

"Those are kind words Raigo, but really they were ordinary matches." Chris said as he messed with his digivice.

"No match is ordinary, that is lesson that you've gotta learn. And once you do you'll see the spectacular aspects of any match. Any match can be a good show but it's the little things that make it electrifying. But I digress, you'll learn as you get that experience. So, what can I do for you three?"

It wasn't often that I got to see either Litton or Raigo as acting command since I usually get my Quests straight from Chief Glare but I could see why they're the second-in-command. Granted, I've seen Litton as acting command more than Raigo and she's pretty well composed and an extraordinarily capable leader. The way Raigo sounded right now was so much like how the Chiefs taught us new lessons after failed Quests. I could definitely see these two taking over once Chief Glare and Julia retire years from now. And oddly enough I'd look forward to working under them as strange as it sounds.

"We've got a Team Quest from the Chief. One of those Search Quests everyone else has been going on." The three of them held out their digivices to show the accepted Quest's status as Pending. Since no Union Quest is allowed to be started without the authorization of a commanding officer they had to come here and get Raigo to approve it.

Though, why are they just now getting a Search Quest?

Those were sent out DAYS ago, we didn't get many on our side but for sure I knew Dark Moon had more than 60% of its Tamers out on them. I frowned slightly as Raigo looked over their digivices and the Quest Specifications. He then turned around and walked toward the screen-which had finished the tasks Chief Julia has left running-before logging in to the Quest logs and entering in the Tamer's information.

"Alright, everything looks good. You guys are at a good level for this Quest and we have nothing that says you shuldn't be taking this on. You've got my approval on this. I don't think you really need to be briefed since you already know what's going on. Just be careful and come back as soon as you finish and report. Don't care if you find anything or nothing, come straight back and no confrontation unless necessary okay?" Raigo signed off on their Quest and changed the status of it to Active. Their digivices beeped at the change and they all saluted.

"You've got it." Chris said before the three turned and left.

"Didn't we send out those Quests days ago? Why are they just getting them now?" I asked as soon as the three of them were gone.

"That was the first round of it. This is the second round for higher ranked Tamers. You'll see more soon on your side too. But anyways, anything else I can help you with?"

"No, I'm good. Thanks though."

"Anytime." Raigo waved as I turned to leave.

Once I was to the Terminal I released my digimon.

"What's up Koh?" Coronamon asked as soon as he was out.

"We are going to go and do some intense training for the day." I replied looking over my options. Thriller Ruins should be good, the Mansion area of it was filled with strong digimon and training against them should get us more used to their types.

"What happened to talking to Chief Julia?" Patamon floated beside me looking at the miniature of the area.

"Raigo says we have to wait until Sukikiyo gets back before more can be done on our side. So I'm going to take this time to train us to be stronger." Selecting my area I stepped on the warp pad and waited for them to join me.

The familiar light and feeling of moving through cyberspace came over me and in a blink of an eye we arrived. There were some digimon walking around but since the Mansion was not accessible from the outside we would have to go through the ruins area first. "Ready to get started?"

"You got it."

If I'm not going out to find her than I might as well take the time to train and get stronger. The Demon Lords are preparing themselves for an assault on the Union so I have to get stronger before they can.

You'll be home soon Sayo.

10 days left.

xXx Sayo xXx

I haven't seen Lilithmon in some time.

She didn't come to my room as usual yesterday and not yet today either, and the only time I saw her was when I went to see them. All the Demon Lords have locked themselves in that room and no one here has seen them leave. Even the servant Digimon aren't allowed in. As a result Wizardmon has been spending all day with me and this puts me on edge. If the Demon Lords are cooped up together then they must be planning, they're getting ready to attack and maybe 10 days isn't going to be needed to prepare.

My only hope is that Union is ready for what is to come, because if not they Digital World is going to have a new world order sooner than it is ready for.

A/N: Ahhhhhh, it's been so long since I've sat down to write more than a couple sentences at a time. I'm again so sorry for the wait, I don't know where all the time went! High School ended, and then before I knew it college started and everything was just insanely busy and the change in environment happened so fast that I didn't get time to adjust and now that I am more adjusted than before I can actually sit down and write some more. But I will tell you all this; I kept thinking about this story even while I was busy with my new life in college, I kept meaning to keep writing but it's soooo hard when there is so much you want to do and so much exploring that needs to be done!

But yay for reusing characters that I introduced 2 books ago, I actually have a whole document list of the teams and ranks so I can refer back. And yes, short chapter I know but next one has so much more going, I promise!

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the short chapter (not exactly what I usually put out sorry) and I'll be trying my hardest to get the next chapter out for Spring Break!

Love,

Dragon
