A/N: Annnnd here's another Lovebirds chapter. Before you guys get your hopes up, no. I'm not updating Black Falcon: The Next Chapter. I've updated all my other stories 'cause I've had those chapters pre-written for a while. I have none for The Next Chapter, sorry. :c
GOTHAM CITY
OCTOBER 30, 2010
15:07 EDT
"Dick…" I managed to get out, before my lips were captured once again. He was attacking me like a thirsty man who hadn't had a drop of water in days. Not that I was complaining, but… I really… really needed to breathe.
Reading me easily like always, he pulled away, allowing me to breathe in the fresh oxygen. Well, as fresh as you could get in Gotham City.
"You'd think you'd have better things to do on our day off…" I mumbled, burying my head into his chest.
Dick wrapped his arms around me, holding me close to him as we lied in his soft, comfortable bed. "Is there anything better than making out with you in bed? After that whole kiss embargo, it's all I want to do."
"Aren't you getting rather clingy?" I inquired, moving my head so I could look at him.
Dick angled his chin so it was on his chest as he looked down at me. He quirked an eyebrow and a wicked smirk appeared on his face. "Says the girl who's clinging onto my shirt."
I looked down where my hands were fisted, and saw that they were gripping Dick's t-shirt tightly. I frowned, and pushed off of him, causing him to laugh, his voice echoing off the walls.
Without even giving him time to react, I ran for the balcony, throwing the door open. Without hesitation, I launched myself off the ledge, pulling out my grappling gun I kept on my person. I launched it at the roof of the mansion, and swung upwards.
I landed on the roof easily and took off, just as I heard light footsteps join me on the roof. I didn't bother looking behind me to check.
The shift in the air had told me who exactly it was.
I pulled out a pair of gloves I always kept on my person, and slipped them on my hands. With that, I reached the edge of the roof and swung myself down, sliding down the side, gripping one of the window sills.
I swung my body, landing on the ground easily, glancing up to see Dick right behind me, his own gloves on as he slid down the side.
I took off, faintly hearing Alfred yell in warning, "Please refrain from trampling the flowerbeds!"
"Got it, Alfie!" Dick and I called back, skillfully dodging the bushes of flowers Alfred planted. I almost ran right into a flower bed, and did a front flip, jumping over it easily as I headed to the forest.
I forced myself to run faster before finding the easiest tree to climb up. Once I found a decently sized tree, I launched myself at it, climbing up it as fast as a monkey.
I waited patiently about twenty feet from the ground, waiting for Dick to show up. There was a rustle and Dick launched himself so he ended up below the tree I was in.
"V?!" he called.
I let out a small laugh, letting it echo through the trees. "It sucks when you're on the receiving end, huh?"
Dick smirked, and looked around, trying to figure out which tree I was in.
When I felt like he tried long enough, I launched myself out of the tree I was in. Acting on instinct, he whirled around, and caught me just before I landed on him.
I circled my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. He grinned down at me and I beamed up at him. "Hi," I greeted breathlessly, before leaning up and kissing him, taking his upper lip between my lips.
I felt his hands on the small of my back, steadying me. He smiled into the kiss, and nibbled on my bottom lip in response.
A/N: Ugh. I need a boyfriend... Wait... no. I don't. I don't need a boyfriend to make myself feel better. Y'know what I do need, though? Reviews. ;)
