I do not own Naruto Shippuden or any of the characters.
Master
Naruto glared over at the soldier again. He admitted that he had grown a respect for him, even if he had attacked him. It was possible that it was a different group that had attacked Suna. He clamped his mouth shut as Kahiko, leader of the caravan that had found him and the soldier after they had fallen from the cliff pressed a little too hard on his injured back while explaining the caravan's history. They had been traveling constantly for generations since war destroyed their home. A small group had left across the sea to a different continent centuries ago and had never returned. The soldier, coincidentally, was healing as fast as Naruto, almost, and Naruto didn't trust him because the Nine-tails could sense no Tailed Beast inside of him.
After a few more days of travel, they were both largely healed and approached the soldier riding an Ostrich while the soldier, was sitting in one of the carriages, not fully healed yet.
"Hey, are you ready to talk yet?" Naruto demanded. "Why did you attack me like that?"
The soldier stared at him for a moment then asked, "That power you were using, what is it?"
"Power?" Naruto questioned, confused. "You mean my chakra?"
"Chakra?" the soldier questioned a hand instinctively moving to his chest as he was lost in thought.
"My turn," Naruto grinned. "What's your name and who are you?"
"Temujin," the soldier stated. "And I'm here to build a utopia."
"Utopia?" Naruto questioned caught off guard.
"That's a very interesting power you have," Temujin stated. "You should come with me."
"If you're trying to build a utopia, why did you attack me?" Naruto questioned.
"Just think about it," Temujin stated.
"I'll think about it after you tell me why you-WHOA!" Naruto was cut off by his Ostrich wheeling around and running off with Naruto chasing after a grasshopper.
Several hours later, Naruto finally caught up with Temujin, who had left after saving a young girl from falling. Naruto landed beside him, the thick mist around them blocking his view and making his suspect an ambush.
"There you are," Naruto sighed looking down and seeing the ferret, Nerugui, that he still had to take back to get paid. "Give me the over-sized rat and I'll be out of your hair."
Nerugui ran around behind Temujin and hissed at Naruto who sighed then glanced to his right and his eyes widened. There was a massive metal structure similar to a bizarrely shaped castle sitting in front of them, partially obscured by the fog. It was not unlike the ship that had attacked Suna.
"What the Hell is that?" Naruto questioned. "Come. I'll introduce you to Master Haido."
He began walking away and Naruto sighed shaking his head and followed, since Nerugui was walking alongside Temujin. After a moment they entered the structure and Temujin led him through a maze of hallways and doors, passing several dozen of the walking suits of armor.
"So, who's Haido?" Naruto questioned.
"He's my Lord, and a man of great strength," Temujin stated. "You'll see when you meet him."
Just then a suit of armor passed them and Naruto glared at it.
"What's with the suits of armor?" Naruto questioned. "I trust they're not friends of yours?"
"They're soldiers dedicated to the cause," Temujin stated. "All of my comrades are..."
His face darkened as they reached a pair of elevators and got in one. Naruto saw that the controls were three levers and decided to let Temujin run them. After a few minutes, they left the elevator and Temujin walked out into a fairly large room with stairs to one side with a throne of sorts there. In it, was a man reading a book. Naruto and Temujin walked out in front of him and Temujin knelt, Naruto stared up at the man, inherent distrust rising inside of him. He wore a tall blue hat, a white robe under a blue cape with an aquamarine-colored brooch holding it closed, and a white glove on his right hand with his left uncovered.
"I have returned My Lord," Temujin stated setting his helmet beside him.
"Ah, Temujin," Haido smiled setting his book, which Naruto could now see was ancient, aside. "Good to have you back."
He stood and smiled down at the two of them.
"You're the one, aren't you?" Haido questioned Naruto, smiling. "Temujin let me know he was bringing you. He tells me you have quite an interesting power."
"That's correct," Temujin stated standing. "Allow me to show you."
With that, he drew his sword and swung at Naruto who drew his own sword and blocked it, allowing the other half to fall into his other hand and putting it to Temujin's throat.
"That's enough Temujin," Haido shouted raising his hand. "Stop this unnecessary fighting."
"My Lord-"
"Resorting to violence is never the answer, my son," Haido stated.
"Good to see someone has some sense," Naruto grinned as he and Temujin put their swords away as the shutters over the windows opened.
"Naruto," Haido said as he and Naruto walked over to the window to see the view. "We've traveled far and wide to create a utopia."
"A world without violence, fighting, or death," Naruto mused. "That sounds like the perfect dream."
"It does," Haido agreed. "The land we've traveled here from is a fr off continent ravaged by conflict. War is an ugly thing. A source of boundless sorrow, bestowing naught but misfortune on man. Temujin knows this all too well. He lost his homeland to strife."
"So does that mean you're all alone then?" Naruto questioned.
"No, I have Master Haido," Temujin stated simply.
"When he was a boy, Temujin was left to survive in the ruins of his shattered village," Haido stated. "I made a decision when I found him. I wanted to protect the weak in any way I could, to create a world where fighting was no longer necessary. That is our utopia. It is my only dream. For the sake of that dream I've traveled the world, gathering believers. It has taken time for us to make it as far as we have. And it grieves me to admit many noble people have been sacrificed along the way. Tell me Naruto, would you like to join us? We could use someone like you. Together, we can make the world a better place."
"Tempting," Naruto admitted. "But my place is in my village. I'm going to follow in my father's footsteps and be Hokage, the leader of my village."
Just then, Nerugui ran up Temujin to his shoulder and Temujin gasped in surprise.
"Goodness me, who's your little friend here?" Haido questioned.
"My apologies," Temujin said as Nerugui hissed at Haido. "I spent some time among a caravan and he took a bit of a shine to me."
"A caravan you say?" Haido questioned. "My, isn't that interesting."
"Master Haido," a voice over the intercom interrupted.
"Tell me, what's wrong?" Haido questioned.
"The fleet we sent to the Land of Wind was annihilated," the voice stated.
The Land of Wind? Naruto thought. Gaara. So it was you guys.
"I'm on my way," Temujin stated rushing toward the elevator.
"Wait for me!" Naruto shouted running after him.
