Dragons and Turtles
Naruto glanced right at the seal moving out onto the lake and sighed. Shizune, Tenten, Lee, and Ino had arrived and told them all of Tsunade's order to seal the Three-tails as well as Shizune's plan to use the Four-Corner Sealing Barrier. Shizune, Ino, Sakura, and Hinata were the ones with the seal while Lee, Tenten, Kiba, Akamaru, and Yamato were guarding them to keep the enemy from breaking the seal. Meanwhile, Kakashi, Naruto, Sai, and Shinno were tasked with keeping the Three-tails from escaping and stopping Guren, the Crystal Style user, if she showed up. They were also ordered to rescue Yukimaru from Orochimaru but Naruto doubted Yukimaru wanted to be taken from Guren, who seemed to be like a mother in Yukimaru's eyes.
Naruto looked to Kakashi and sighed then leapt into the air as a massive Crystal Dragon exploded out of the water after him. Kakashi moved to help Naruto but was stopped by Gozu, the same shinobi he had fought while Hinata and Kiba battled Guren's men. Sai and Shino were unable to help them thanks to having Crystal Dragons of their own to deal with.
Naruto looked back to his own to see Guren standing on it. He had met and fought her while searching for Yukimaru but she had retreated when Yamato and Kakashi arrived. Now, it would seem, it was time for their rematch.
"Guren," Naruto growled. "Let's get this over with shall we?"
"Crystal Style, Jade Crystal Prison!" Guren shouted as a ring of light appeared behind Naruto.
He instantly threw himself sideways, barely avoiding the jutsu then stood and glared at Guren.
"That's a cheap trick," Naruto growled. "I'm going to have to pay you back."
Guren created and threw several crystal shuriken at Naruto which he dodged drawing his Double-Edged Sword and swung it at Guren. The blast destroyed the Crystal Dragon but Guren leapt to safety. As she landed, she placed her hand down and a trail of crystal shot across the water toward him. He swung his sword again breaking the trail then leapt over the dragon she had made out of his attack.
"I'm impressed," Naruto smirked. "I should have seen that coming, but I'm still impressed."
"Thank you," Guren smirked just before dozens of bugs shot out of the water and flew at her.
Guren held her hands out and crystallized them all.
"Nice try," Guren sneered just before the bugs broke free hovering, this time. "What!? Impossible!"
"Not quite," Shino stated. "A few of my bugs survived your jutsu, making them immune. Then it was a relatively simple matter to spread that immunity."
Just then, Kakashi appeared, thrusting a Chidori at Guren's face. She turned toward him just as mud splattered over her body. Sai, who had just finished his own Crystal Dragon accompanied the others, Guren included, in freezing out of surprise when he saw Gozu's face in a floating mass of mud that was beginning to fall away.
"Gozu," Guren breathed.
"I'm sorry," Gozu stated sorrowfully. "I failed you."
Before anyone could speak, the entire mass of mud fell into the water leaving them all standing there in a stunned silence for no real reason. Guren was as surprised as the others and Naruto was the only one to notice. He glanced over at the Sealing Team and saw that they were already almost done sealing the Three-tails while their protection team had killed Team Guren off with the exception of Rinji.
"We're almost finished," Naruto reported turning back to Guren. "In a few minutes, the Three-tails will be sealed. Then, Yukimaru will be leaving with us and you can report back to Orochimaru."
"I don't think so," Guren suddenly growled. "No one is taking Yukimaru."
"You know Orochimaru will just kill him once he's served his purpose right?" Naruto questioned.
"He won't," Guren stated sounding less sure than she meant to. "I won't let him."
"We can keep him safe," Naruto stated. "That's more than you can say. That power of his is killing him. And you're just making him do it on a larger and larger scale."
Just then, Rinji arrived kicking Kiba and Tenten away making Yamato and Tenten catch them. At the same time, a Crystal Dragon exploded out of the water then crashed down beside Ino. Ino instantly lost her concentration and the barrier disconnected from her flying up like a tarp with a broken rope. The seal faded and the Three-tails instantly launched a blast of water toward the surface at Hinata. Naruto teleported to her then threw her before the blast exploded against him forming a dense mist too thick to see through. When the mist cleared, they all saw his chakra barrier from Temujin's sword. He put the blade away and jumped back to Hinata wiping some sweat from his forehead and sighing.
"Fighting a Tailed-beast," Naruto sighed. "What ever happened to common sense?"
"It's overrated," Hinata smirked standing as Naruto held out her sword's hilt. "Thank you."
Guren retreated to a cliff as the Three-tails surfaced and sent a blast of water at Rinji, catching him and sending him to the shore where the rest of Team Guren was climbing out of the water, apparently having survived. The explosion from the Three-tails' attack killed them, however, as it leveled a quarter mile of shoreline.
"Good God," Naruto breathed before looking around. "Everyone get clear! I'll handle him!"
Everyone turned and began to flee as the Three-tails fired several blasts at them. Naruto immediately erected a barrier and hurled a kunai as the barrier teleported the Three-tails' blast to the kunai behind it where it exploded against its back. It turned then turned away from them and toward a cliff overlooking the lake where Guren, Kabuto, and Yukimaru were standing. Just as it formed a blast of water to kill them all with, Yukimaru suddenly sent a massive stream of chakra into the sky and the Three-tails stopped, the jutsu fading. Naruto sprinted across the water. Toward the cliff intent on saving Yukimaru, no matter what. After a couple seconds, Yukimaru lost his control, his chakra running low and the Three-tails began to prepare another attack. Yukimaru again tried to control it but his chakra was too low and he collapsed. The Three-tails fired and obliterated the cliff dropping Rinji into the water below and to his death. Yukimaru managed to hang on but as he climbed up, the Three-tails fired again. Just before it hit, Naruto pulled Yukimaru up out of the way and leapt back to Guren who, it seemed, Rinji had stabbed so that Yukimaru would be forced to control the Three-tails. Once the mist settled, Naruto stood in front of Yukimaru and Guren clenching his fists.
"Get Yukimaru out of here Guren," Naruto growled. "We'll settle things later. For now, someone has to stop the Three-tails."
"What you?" Guren questioned just as the Three-tails fired and Naruto drew his Double-Edged Swords.
He swung and sent a massive blast of wind at at the Three-tails and the two jutsus exploded against each other, cancelling out. Just as Naruto was about to speak again, a second blast shot out of the mist.
Shit! Naruto thought.
He grabbed Yukimaru and Guren, leaping away from the cliff just before the blast hit and demolished most of what was left.
"Damn," Naruto sighed standing. "Protect Yukimaru. I'll handle this thing. And Guren. I meant what I said. Orochimaru will kill Yukimaru if it serves his purpose, or once Yukimaru has served his. If you care about him, you should put serious thought into leaving Orochimaru's side."
Naruto then created his Three Clone Squad and drew Temujin's sword, and all four sprinted out onto the lake. After a moment Guren stood as well and smiled back at Yukimaru.
"You stay here Yukimaru," Guren ordered. "I will handle the Three-tails with that idiot. Fructify Crystal Style, Crimson Fruit!"
A dome of pure crystal formed around Yukimaru and Guren smiled back at him.
"Stay in this," Guren ordered. "As long as you do, you'll be safe."
Yukimaru nodded and smiled and Guren sprinted out onto the lake. Naruto had managed to get the Three-tails to turn around to attack him but now Naruto was having trouble getting close enough to attack the Three-tails without being blasted. As Guren got in front of the Three-tails, she leapt into the air and formed several hand seals.
"Crystal Style, Wild Dance of Shuriken!" Guren shouted as hundreds of crystal shuriken shot at the Three-tails, shattering harmlessly against him.
The Three-tails turned toward her just before the Naruto clone with the Rasengans slammed two Rasengans the size of his torso into its face. It moved back about three feet then blasted the clone, narrowly missing Guren. Naruto reformed the clone as he ran over to Guren who was breathing hard.
"Thanks for deciding to help but I don't see it mattering," Naruto sighed.
"Watch and learn kid," Guren smirked as she sent two gigantic Crystal Dragons at the Three-tails, which it instantly smashed. "I'm not done yet!"
Guren formed several hand seals as crystals began to shoot up out of the water around the Three-tails.
"Crystal Style, Crystal Wall, Eight Formation!" Guren shouted as the crystal completely encased the Three-tails before Guren bent over gasping for breath and holding her wound.
"Impressive," Naruto commended. "Now that you're out of chakra, however, just leave the rest to me. I should just have to shatter him right?"
Guren nodded and Naruto formed a Rasengan taking a step forward only to stop when the Three-tails roared. The crystal instantly began to crack before exploding off when he blasted it and flew toward the shore and Yukimaru. The pieces disintegrated, however and Guren sighed.
"I won't let you hurt Yukimaru!" Guren growled.
"I'll handle this," Naruto stated just as the Three-tails sent one of its tails at the two of them. "Damn!"
He leapt into the air but Guren was too slow and was smashed under water by the tail. Naruto created a dozen clones and they all charged forward, avoiding several blasts before leaping into the air and slammed their Rasengans into its face. All of their attacks exploded but did nothing to the Three-tails. Naruto leapt back and growled in frustration.
"Hard shell," Naruto said thoughtfully before focusing on the eye. "Found my mark you bastard."
Suddenly, chakra began to explode out off Guren's body and the water above and around her was pushed away before she leapt into the air.
"Crystal Style, Arrow of Light!" Guren shouted as a crystal cage appeared around her with the corner in front of her glowing with chakra.
Then, Three-tails fired a blast of water at her that exploded against the prism without harming her. Once the mist had cleared, she fired a beam of chakra at the Three-tails hitting him square in the eye. The explosion made the Three-tails roar in pain and back away and the moment the eye opened again, Naruto slammed a massive Rasengan into it launching the Three-tails away. Just as Naruto landed, Guren landed beside him, the chakra that had been surrounding her body disappearing. Then, the Three tails sank back under water as Guren fell to one knee in exhaustion.
"You're pretty good," Naruto grinned. "But now it's time for us to settle this. Either hand Yukimaru over to me, or I'll take him by force."
Just then, the Three-tails leapt out of the water behind him and fell directly at them. It cleared a hundred feet at the top of its arc and before either could move, it crashed down. A moment later, the crystal shield around Yukimaru shattered.
