Six Against One
Pein stood, watching the Hidden Leaf Village alongside Konan in silence. After a moment, he turned to her.
"I will send my Animal Path enter the village and kill anyone that responds," Pein stated. "Then, it will summon my creatures and distract the village, sending it into chaos. Then, it will summon us."
"And what happens if we meet the woman with the Crystal Style?" Konan questioned.
"Kill her," Pein ordered as the Human Path, now a female body since Jiraiya had managed to kill his last body, sprinted forward, leaping into the air. "Almighty Push!"
The body shot into the air and through the barrier around Konoha, landing in a field just inside. Within seconds several shinobi were present. But, of course, they didn't last long after she began summoning.
"Lord Hokage!" Guren shouted running into the Hokage's office where Minato and Tsunade were watching several massive creatures spread through the village, destroying everything.
"We know," Minato stated. "It's Pein. Guren, go to the hospital. For now, protect the injured and the medics. We'll begin moving them soon. When we do, find Tsunade."
Guren nodded and left, sprinting out into the city and toward the hospital. As she got halfway, she stopped as a woman in Akatsuki robes with blue hair in a bun with a blue flower in it landed in the road in front of her.
"Hello bitch," Guren growled. "You're on the wrong side. Now you're going to die."
Just then, a man with orange hair spiked up landed beside the woman and Guren smirked making hand seals.
"Crystal Style, Jade Crystal Prison!"
Crystal shot up around the both of them and shattered just as another of the woman landed beside where the others had been and another man landed behind Guren. She spun around just in time for his hand to close around her throat, lifting her into the air. She struggled to breath but could only barely even do that. Suddenly she couldn't move. Then, purple flames shot to life behind him as a massive head shot up in the center of them.
"Do you know the Nine-tails Jinchuriki," the man demanded.
"I do," Guren sneered. "And he's going to tear you apart."
"Where is he?" Pein demanded.
Guren narrowed her eyes at him before grinning.
"You should look down," Guren grinned.
Pein did so and saw a seal at his feet. Just then, a single foot appeared behind him before the other foot smashed into the side of his head, launching him into the wall before Minato grabbed Guren and teleported away.
"Konoha's Yellow Flash," Konan mused walking over to Pein. "We'll have to be more careful."
The man nodded and stood, the head sinking back into the flames before they vanished.
Minato appeared beside Kakashi kneeling down and sighing. Kakashi, almost completely buried in rubble, was dead. He had used Kamui so many times he had died. Minato sighed and looked to Guren.
"Find Tsunade," Minato ordered. "Protect her. I'm going to find the leader."
Guren nodded and ran off. Minato teleported the the body that seemed to be strongest, and that gave orders to the others every once in a while. When he arrived, he found another one standing beside him.
"Minato Namikaze," the smaller man spoke. "It's good to see one of Master Jiraiya's other students. I assume you mean to stop me."
Minato drew a pair of kunai and began hurling them at the two shinobi, both of whom seemed to be Pein, as both had Rinnegan. The smaller one held his hands out and the kunai all fell to the ground, seeming to hit a barrier. Then, Minato appeared over a kunai directly beside the man. He had a Rasengan and thrust it at the man just as it shot out of his hand like something was pulling it, stretching it until it was gone, having gone into the other man. Then, the smaller one spun, Minato seeing a flash of black as a pole extended from his sleeve.
Guren landed beside Tsunade just as a man with spiky orange hair, Rinnegan, six ear rings in the sides of each of his ears, a small metal rod running up through each, two spike studs under his lower lip, and three short rods running horizontally through his nose landed in front of them.
"Tsunade," the man said staring at her. "I remember you."
"You'll have to go through me to get-" Guren began, stepping forward only to stop as the man flicked his arm toward her and a metal rod shot out of his sleeve, too fast for her to track and drove itself through her heart.
She stumbled back then collapsed as Yukimaru and Gozu both arrived, Gozu attacking the man and Yukimaru kneeling beside her, trying to wake her up as his crystallized camellia shattered.
"Guren, no!" Yukimaru sobbed.
After a moment, the man Gozu was struggling to hit, held out his hands and Yukimaru and Gozu both slammed into each other as another man with long orange hair, Rinnegan, and similar piercings arrived and placed his hands on their heads. A moment later, he jerked his hands upward and a ghostly silhouette of a human rose with them before fading. Both collapsed and a moment later, the man with long hair lay down and ceased to move.
"As I was saying," Pein continued. "I remember that you were quite a skilled fighter. However, you must know, pain will only create pain. Have I not made that clear? I released my pain on your village, now you feel that pain."
"Fuck you bastard!" Tsunade spat. "Where's Minato? I know he went to fight you!"
"He was much weaker than I expected," Pein stated. "Now, I believe I've kept you all busy long enough."
With that, he rose into the air above them. As he rose, he stared down at Tsunade.
"You think you're the only ones who matter," Pein stated. "You think you can put off death. But that peace made you foolish and thoughtless. If you kill someone, someone else will kill you… this hatred binds us together. I want you to feel pain, to think about pain, to accept pain, to know pain."
And with that, he reached the height he wanted and raised his hands.
"It is time for the entire world to know pain," he said more to himself than anyone.
The entire village was watching him by this point. Everyone, except Tsunade.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
"Almighty Push!" Pein shouted sending out a massive shock wave that instantly tore into the village, obliterating everything.
When it stopped, Konoha had been reduced to little more than a crater, with rubble pushed to the edge against the wall. As Pein landed, and the other five joined him, Tsunade now laying unconscious before him, a massive cloud of smoke appeared behind her. Everyone else had been protected by Katsuyu who had split into small versions of herself, big enough to cover everyone and now released them all, allowing them to see Naruto, on top of Gamakichi, who was ten times as big as he was, who was on top of Gamabunta, who was between two other gigantic toads. Naruto now wore a red cloak with black flames at the bottom, similar to his father's but a different color and there was an orange pigmentation around his eyes which were now yellow with a horizontal bar shaped pupil. There was a large scroll hanging from the back of his waist and Fukasaku and Shima were sitting on the ends of it.
"Naruto!" several of the survivors cried happily.
Pein looked at Naruto blankly for a moment before turning toward a man with a bald head and six spikes sticking out around them, a face on the sides of his head in addition to his normal face, a single two inch wide stud sticking straight out of all three chins, a metal ring running vertically along his nose, and two studs in each cheeks, one directly over the other.
"Kill the Hokage," Pein ordered. "Then we will deal with the Jinchuriki."
The man shot forward, flying along the ground. He raised one arm and several jagged blades extended from his sleeve. Just as he neared Tsunade, however, Naruto crashed down, one fist smashing into his back and making him explode, exposing the machines inside of it.
"You're dealing with me," Naruto growled standing as one of the thousands of Katsuyus climbed his leg to his shoulder.
"The one giving the orders can manipulate gravity, either pulling or repelling things," Katsuyu reported. "The fat one in front of him absorbs chakra and the one in back can revive the others. The man with long hair can extract people's souls killing them. The woman can summon powerful creatures and the one you killed can fire rockets and lasers that do a massive amount of damage."
Naruto nodded.
"And they can all see what one sees through their eyes," Katsuyu added. "So you will need to be careful."
Naruto nodded and the female Pein sprang to life summoning a massive rhino. As it approached Naruto, it lowered its horn to impale him. He grinned and at the last second caught the horn, stopping the rhino in its tracks. Then, he spun and hurled it into the sky and away from the village. The woman slammed her hands down summoning a massive red dog and a massive bull. Shima and Fukasaku leapt into the air screaming and sending an ultrasonic blast at the two paralyzing them. Naruto instantly darted between the two, creating two clones who formed massive Rasengans and blasted the two summons into the air. Naruto himself continued forward, the Pein that could absorb jutsus moving to meet him. Naruto began to fight him but every attack he through the Pein blocked easily.
Finally, Naruto jumped back glancing up to see Gamabunta beating the dog with his feet, hands, and even the top of his head, before kicking it down to the other two massive frogs who were fighting the rhino and bull. Naruto grinned and sprinted forward throwing a punch at the Pein he was fighting while focusing his Sage Mode chakra to his fist in a technique Fukasaku had taught him. Both he and the Pein threw a punch and both avoided it before the chakra around Naruto's fist blasted the Pein in the side of the face, launching him away. At the same time, the three toads finished the three summons, the bull and rhino disappearing as the dog split into two.
"Time's up," Naruto growled. "Now you get to see one of my favorite jutsus."
He formed a clone and held his hand out as the Peins stared at him in annoyance.
"So you've become a Sage," the head Pein stated. "Then you've mastered the same jutsu as Jiraiya Sensei."
"Sensei?" Naruto questioned.
"That's right," Pein said. "I too studied under Jiraiya, he was once my Master. That makes us sibling students. So, as sibling students, we should be able to understand each other. Our Master desired peace."
"Shut up!" Naruto snapped holding his newly-formed Rasenshuriken over his head. "Everything you've done, all this destruction, all the people you've hurt, what part of that is peaceful!?"
"You simply cannot see the forest for the trees," Pein stated. "You cannot understand true peace, or my actions because you cannot understand. Just let yourself be captured. Surrender, and your death will lead to peace."
"I said shut up!" Naruto shouted hurling the Rasenshuriken.
The Pein that had been speaking and the one behind him both leapt into the air, but the girl hesitated. The Pein with the long hair grabbed her cloak and hurled her skyward, the Rasenshuriken moving under her. A moment later, it expanded, the blades cutting through the Pein with the long hair and shredding him. The girl instantly summoned a massive bird that shot toward Naruto. He leapt onto its back then into the air and saw the Rasenshuriken was almost finished shredding the Pein. When only the top of his head was left, the Rasenshuriken exploded, blowing a massive crater into the ground.
"It seems Danzo was right," the head Pein mused. "This boy does not listen."
The bird suddenly flew at Naruto again, crashing into the ground as he leapt into the air. The girl moved to intercept him, attacking him with a metal rod that had a sharp point. Naruto instantly drew his new Sword of Kusanagi, blocking her attacks as the two of them fell. As they landed, he slashed at the girl and she leapt away as dog summon kicked Gamabunta onto his back.
"You're slowing down," Pein stated. "That attack used up your Sage Chakra. Didn't it?"
Just then, Shima used a Wind Style Jutsu to kick up dust, blocking Pein's sight just before Fukasaku hurled Gamabunta at Naruto and the girl. Once inside his mouth, she stepped back against his cheek then forward looking around. The moment she stepped forward, Naruto's fist collided with her cheek. She stumbled then righted herself in time for Naruto to deliver an uppercut to her jaw. She landed hard then stood as Naruto slammed to Rasengans into her, blasting her and killing her. Gamabunta's mouth bulged with the blast before he spit them both out. Naruto grinned drawing his sword, happy that there were only two, allowing him to use his stronger jutsus without worrying about another Pein interrupting. With two left, he could easily take them.
Just then, all of the summons disappeared and Naruto grinned.
"You're out of summons," Naruto grinned. "Good thing you don't need her."
"You're not in Sage Mode anymore," Pein noted.
"Nope," Naruto grinned. "Now I can use my personal fighting style."
"It's my turn, finally," Pein stated darting forward and after Naruto who removed the scroll from his back and running toward Fukasaku.
Gamabunta slammed his tanto down in an attempt to hit Pein but Pein landed on his arm running up his arm.
"You little scamp," Gamabunta growled moving to brush him off but missing and beginning to struggle to touch him. "Why...you...damn it!
Pein leapt off of Gamabunta, landing in front of Naruto. Naruto hurled the scroll then darted forward, drawing his Double-Edged Swords and charging at Pein. Pein moved to fight him and they began to try to kit each other. Pein was using a pair of rods and was easily keeping up with him and keeping Naruto on the defensive. Naruto himself was only barely able to keep Pein's attacks away. After a few seconds, Naruto jumped back and Pein stopped. At that moment, Fukasaku unrolled the scroll and finally summoned a clone. Pein darted forward, driving a rod toward Naruto. The clone exploded and Naruto instantly held his hand out, the rod exploding against his palm. Naruto instantly darted forward throwing several punches at Pein which he blocked before throwing a kick that Pein instantly blocked before flying away from the chakra around Naruto's foot.
As he bounced across the ground, Naruto created a Rasenshuriken and hurled it at Pein. At the last second, the same Pein Naruto had killed with a blast to the face landed in front of the head Pein and held his hands out, the Rasenshuriken stopping and slowly fusing with a barrier that had appeared before being absorbed. Naruto looked to the other Pein he hadn't killed and saw him standing beside a massive head.
"So, he revived him, huh?" Naruto growled as the last Pein leapt over to the other two. "Alright. We'll have to take care of him first."
Naruto created a second clone and then formed two Rasengan and grinned.
"Smoke bombs," Naruto instructed. "And let's have some fun with this."
He slammed one of his Rasengans into the ground as one of the clones slammed a smoke bomb into the ground sending red smoke into the dust which spread it over a massive area. A moment later, a Rasenshuriken shot out of the smoke. The Pein in front moved to absorb it but it turned back into Naruto who drove his Kusanagi Sword through the Pein's chest pinning him to the ground before he drew a kunai and slashed the Pein across the bridge of his nose, blood pouring into his eyes and blinding him. At the same time, another Rasenshuriken, this time a real one, shot out of the red smoke and at the head Pein.
"Can't dodge this one," Naruto growled.
Just as it was about to hit Pein, his eyes widened slightly and the Rasengan burst like it had been cancelled.
"No way!" Gamabunta spat. "He repelled the kid's jutsu?"
"It seems my power has returned," Pein sneered.
"Too late," Naruto grinned as the last clone crashed down on the last Pein, driving two Rasengans into his back which exploded and killed him instantly.
"What?" Pein gasped spinning around.
"Told you so," Naruto grinned ripping his sword out ans raising it as the other clone drew Temujin's Sword and leapt at Pain with a Raging Thunder.
"Almighty Push!" Pein said blasting both Naruto's away.
Naruto himself slid to a stop in front of Fukasaku and Shima while the clone disappeared. The three giant toads instantly landed and began to attack the two Peins unsuccessfully.
"How can I beat him if I can't touch him?" Naruto questioned.
"According to Choji," Katsuyu spoke up moving to his shoulder. "The central Pein's power must recharge between uses. The minimum time seems to be five seconds."
"Five seconds?" Naruto questioned. "I don't have an attack that fast."
"Maybe we should trap him in a Genjutsu," Fukasaku suggested.
"I'm terrible at that," Naruto stated.
"We'll do it," Fukasaku stated.
"That's right," Shima nodded. "During our battle against Pein with Jiraiya, it was going to be our means of escape."
"I see," Naruto nodded.
Just then, Pein landed between two of the giant toads with Gamabunta falling toward him from above.
"We've got you cornered," Gamabunta laughed. "There's nowhere to run."
Pein leapt over the three toads' attacks and flew up between their heads.
"Again, Almighty Push!" Pein shouted as he blasted the three toads out of the village, all three crashing down and plowing through the forest outside for well over a mile.
Naruto stared in shock then stood glancing to his left where he could sense Hinata, thanks to his Sage Chakra.
"As soon as you can, start the Genjutsu," Naruto instructed turning to Pein. "I'm going to try to end this with the five second window."
"Right," Fukasaku nodded.
"It may be possible since the other Pein is blind now," Shima stated referring to the cut Naruto had made to blind the Pein that absorbed jutsus that blinded him with his own blood.
"Right," Naruto nodded creating two clones. "Garian and Double-Edged."
The clones drew the swords and Naruto drew Temujin's sword before they all charged forward.
"I must say you're truly strong Naruto," Pein stated. "This is the farthest that Pain has ever been pushed. But no more, it's over. Universal Pull!"
He held his hand up and the three Narutos were suddenly hurled forward. The blind Pein hurled two pipes killing the clones using the head Pein's sight to aim. When Naruto himself arrived, the blind Pein punched him in the stomach before catching him in a full nelson, beginning to drain his chakra.
"We're going to end this right now," Pein stated. "Don't worry, I won't kill you. You are precious, Jinchuriki. Sage Mode is troublesome. However, we have solved that problem. Haven't we?"
Naruto suddenly fell limp as he exited Sage Mode.
"The Nine-tails, has been captured," Pein stated.
Naruto merely smirked and began gathering Sage Chakra, allowing it to be taken instantly. After less than a minute, he stopped and the Pein holding him began to bulge.
"It seems you have accepted your fate," Pein sneered not noticing the other Pein's condition.
"Fun fact about Sage Mode," Naruto grinned as the Pein's transformation became more violent and obvious. "Not balancing the chakra leads to unscheduled transformations into toad statues."
Just as he said this, the Pein turned to stone, vaguely resembling a toad. Naruto began pulling and after a moment, the Toad Pein's arms smashed. Naruto fell to his hands and knees and laughed.
"That was certainly...different," Naruto grinned. "So, now it's just y...son of a...the real one is not among them. You're a puppet too."
"Impressive," Pein sneered.
Just then, Fukasaku and Shima held their hands out and Pein lifted one hand.
"I've had enough of that Genjutsu," Pein stated as Fukasaku flew through the air toward him.
Naruto leapt forward to catch Fukasaku but before he could, Pein extended a single rod and drove it through Fukasaku. Then Pein slammed Naruto into the ground with his jutsu before pulling Naruto to himself.
As he flew, Koyuki's words returned to him.
Your loyalty to your friends will be the death of you. Someday, one of your friends will be in danger, and you're going to go to your death, trying to save them.
Naruto was pulled back to the present as Pein caught him by the throat, slamming him into the ground before rolling him over and driving a pole down through both hands and pinning them down. Naruto instantly felt the chakra of the true Pein. The one he was fighting, knelt.
"So tell me," Pein smirked. "Has this tamed you even a little, Nine-tails?"
"Why are you doing all this?" Naruto growled struggling to focus his chakra at all but failing.
"You ask why?" Pein questioned. "Somethings seem random, and the reason only becomes apparent afterward. But I doubt very much that the knowledge would help at all. But let's say I did tell you why. What then?"
"I would tear you apart for the destruction you caused here," Naruto spat. "The deaths. And for killing Master Jiraiya!"
"My goal is to fulfill the dream even Jiraiya Sensei was unable to achieve," Pein stated. "As I said earlier, what I want is to create peace and bring about justice."
"Peace?" Naruto spat. "Justice? Don't you dare talk about peace and justice! You killed my Master, your Sensei! And you killed my Sensei. You killed my father! You hurt my friends, murdered hundreds of people, hunted down the Jinchuriki, all because you want to make peace!? You don't know what the word peace means! Don't you dare say you want peace. All you do is cause pain, suffering, and death! I'm going to kill you! Then I'm going to bring true peace to the ninja world!"
"Oh I see," Pein nodded walking to Naruto's side. "That would be justice. But then, what about my family? My friends? My village? They suffered the same fate as this village at the hands of you Hidden Leaf Ninja. How is it fair to let only ou people preach about peace and justice?"
"What the hell are you talking about?" Naruto demanded.
"Once, the Land of Fire, and the Hidden Leaf Village, had grown too big, too powerful," Pein stated. "To keep this peace they had found, they forced Feudal clans to wage war against each other and profited from it. Otherwise, the Villages would starve. However, it was my nation, and its villages that became the battlefield where they waged their war. Each time they did, our nation was ravaged, and laid to waste. After many such battles the great nations stabilized. But now a small nation suffered. And it barely recovered. You and I are seeking the very same thing. We both want to achieve the peace Jiraiya Sensei envisioned. You and I are the same. We're both motivated by our desire for peace and justice. The justice I have delivered to the Leaf Village is no different than what you are trying to do to me. Everyone feels the same pain when losing something dear. You and I have both experienced that pain. You strive for your justice, and I strive for mine. We're both just ordinary men who've been driven to seek vengeance in the name of justice. And, if one learns to call vengeance justice, then such justice will only breed further vengeance and trigger a vicious cycle of hatred. Right now we live in such a cycle. I know the past and can foretell our future. It is the same as our history. So we believe that humans simply cannot understand each other. And they never will. The Shinobi world of ours is ruled by hatred, and hatred alone. So Naruto, how would you confront this hatred in order to create peace? I want to know what your answer is."
"I don't know," Naruto stated after a while. "I don't have an answer."
"But you see, that is why I formed the Akatsuki, to break the cycle of hatred," Pein stated. "I can put an end to it. But I need the Nine-tails. I need his power. I will use the tailed beasts, to create a tailed beast weapon many times stronger than the one that flattened this village. One strong enough to wipe out an entire nation instantly. I will show the world what true pain is. And stop all wars with the terror that pain will inspire. I will lead the world down the road to peace."
"Any peace like that will be nothing but a lie!" Naruto spat. "Eventually, someone will stand up to when he dies, more will rise. You will only speed the cycle up!"
"Human being are not the most intelligent of creatures," Pein stated. "This is the only way that peace can be achieved. Of course, you are right. Eventually the pain will no longer be a deterrent. They will turn the tailed beast weapon on themselves and reconfirm what true pain is. And then the peace will begin again. Delaying the cycle once again. Unbearable pain will give rise to momentary peace. That is my dream and my goal."
"But it's a lie," Naruto growled. "My dream, is to create a permanent peace. And I will do it."
"You say that my definition of peace is a lie," Pein stated. "However, your peace, is nothing but fiction. People can never truly understand each other until they have all felt true pain."
"Master Jiraiya believed in my dream, not yours!" Naruto spat. "You're the one who's wrong!"
"Empty words," Pein stated extending a rod. "You don't even have an answer to how you'd achieve peace. Your only option now, is to give me the power of the Nine-tails for my own use. And then after that, as I told you, your death will lead to peace."
Pein then drove a pole into each shoulder, both sides of his torso, and his upper legs, effectively pinning him.
"I've avoided any vital spots and kept them shallow, but you will no longer be able to move on your own," Pein stated.
"Snap out of it Naruto!" Shima suddenly shouted. "Don't listen to him! You're the child of prophesy!You are not allowed to lose! Jiraiya Boy and Pa both believed in you! You must defeat Pein!"
Pein held his hand out and launched Shima away.
"Loud mouthed frog!" Pein spat.
"Bastard!" Naruto spat.
"It's time we were on our way," Pein stated holding his hands out as his pupils dilated.
Just then, Hinata leapt into the air behind him, swinging her Sword of the Thunder God at the top of his head. A barrier appeared round him that was likely his ability to repel. However, when the sword reached the barrier, it cut through instantly, continuing at his head. He threw himself aside and instead, Hinata spun cutting the rod in Naruto's left shoulder off just above his body.
"I won't let you hurt Naruto anymore!" Hinata stated turning toward Pein and activating her Byakugan while readying her sword.
"Reinforcements," Pein smirked.
"Why did you come out here?" Naruto demanded. "Just run! You can't win! Please!"
"No," Hinata said firmly. "I'm just, being selfish now."
"What's that mean?" Naruto questioned. "Hinata, don't put yourself in danger like this, just go!"
"I'm here because I want to be," Hinata stated. "This time, I'm going to save you, Naruto. I used to be such a crybaby, always giving up before I even had a chance to start. I almost took the wrong path so many times, I lost count. But you helped me find my way, and helped me take the correct path Naruto. I always chased after you, wanting to catch up to you. Wanting to walk together with you forever. You've changed who I am Naruto. Your smiling face, saved me Naruto. That's why, I'm not afraid to die here. If it means I can protect you. Because, I love you. I always will."
With that, she spun, kicking a rod and breaking it then moving to cut another one. Just as she did, Pein's eyes widened and she flew away.
"KURAMA!" Naruto shouted inside his head but receiving no answer.
Hinata landed hard, bouncing and rolling across the ground before landing on her hands and knees and standing and dashing forward. She jumped and moved to break more poles pinning Naruto down before Pein launched her sideways, slamming her into the ground much harder and sending her bouncing along the ground.
"Hinata!" Naruto shouted. "Kurama! For the love of God! WAKE THE FUCK UP! ! !"
After a moment, she slid to a stop and pushed herself up, barely able to move. She stood and darted toward Pein who was between her and Naruto, slashing at him. He raised a rod to block it and electricity instantly raced across his body. After a moment, he held up his hand and she flew away again. This time, when she stood, she tossed her sword aside, before taking a stance with her left foot in front of the other, her knees bent, and her hands as upside down fists by her sides. She leaned forward, a trail of blood running down across her face as she channeled her chakra into her fists, two lion head-shaped shrouds appearing around them.
"Gentle Step, Twin Lion Fists!" Hinata shouted sprinting forward.
As she reached Pein, she began swinging at him in a blur, spinning and jabbing trying desperately to hit him but without success. Every punch she threw Pein easily stepped, jumped, or spun out of the way of. Each time she threw a punch, a massive burst of chakra went with it but still she couldn't hit him. Finally he held his hand out but suddenly froze and Hinata managed a hit to the side of his head before spinning away and leaping at Naruto, hitting a pole and breaking it, removing its ability to control him as she had two others already. Then, as she swung at another, Pein blasted her, sending her flying flying high into the air before she crashed down.
"Naruto," Kurama growled. "What has he...done to...us?"
"Chakra disruptors!" Naruto shouted. "Hinata's fighting him! Save her!"
"I'll try," Kurama promised. "But I can't focus chakra very well."
"You can go as far as eight tails if you need to," Naruto stated.
As the dust settled, Naruto saw that Hinata wasn't moving. His body instantly went numb.
"Hinata!" Naruto shouted. "Hinata please! Wake up! Please! Hinata!"
Hinata's eyes fluttered open and Naruto sighed in relief.
"Hinata!" Naruto called out again.
She began to try to push herself up but collapsed gasping in pain. She tried again and managed to get to her feet, beginning to limp forward, left arm holding her abdomen where she likely had several broken ribs, and right arm hanging limply at her side. After a few seconds, she collapsed again, unable to support her own weight. She forced herself up, beginning to limp forward again.
"Please, just stop," Naruto pleaded. "Just stay away."
After a few more seconds, she collapsed again, only a couple of feet from Naruto. She began to crawl forward, every movement sending pain through her body.
"But why?" Pein questioned as she reached Naruto and pushed herself up to her knees, gripping the pole through his hands. "Why would someone as weak as you, try to resist?"
"Kurama! Now!" Naruto shouted.
"Almost ready!" Kurama responded.
"Why would you fight me?" Pein questioned. "When you know, you'll only die?"
"Because, I never go back on my word," Hinata stated echoing Naruto's own words and making him look up at her. "Because...because that's my ninja way."
Naruto stared at her helplessly as she flew into the air, crashing down in front of Pein.
...and you're going to go to your death, trying to save them.
"KURAMA! ! !" Naruto shouted desperately.
Pein raised his arm a metal rod extending from it then flipped it over and drove it downward, through Hinata.
"It was just like this, when my parents were killed, right in front of my eyes," Pein stated. "By shinobi, of the Hidden Leaf. Because of the existence of love, sacrifice is born, as well as hate. When one comprehends, one knows pain."
Naruto's eyes suddenly turned blood red as two words rang through his head.
"KILL HIM! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !"
