Chapter 96: Impossible
"Imagine what?" Sesshoumaru asked as Kagome's fingers played with the beads.
"Being in your situation." She stated simply. The beads were indeed heavy, but the weight they carried, what they symbolized, was far greater. For someone extremely prideful, like Sesshoumaru is, it must be nearly crippling. From Lord of the Western Lands to a slave for whichever human paid enough to purchase him... all because of what he is, a demon. It really was a shame. Though she would never say this to him. "I will find a way to free you."
"Impossible."
"Nothing is impossible. I would have thought it was impossible for you to be captured, yet here you are..." Sesshoumaru growled when Kagome said this, she ignored him and continued, "... I would have thought it was impossible for you to have Rin, yet you stayed with her, a human. I am slowly learning this myself, as well. Things seem impossible, you never know unil you try. You never know unless you look closely."
"Hn."
Kagome dropped the beads and placed her palms on his chest, just below the necklace. "Even the tin-man had a heart." Kagome smiled. "I know you do, too."
