Chapter 99: Missing
Kagome awoke sometime in the early morning hours, or what she assumed was the early morning due to the faint light that filled the tent. The rain had yet to cease, so it may have been later and just extremely overcast. She was still facing the opposite direction from Sesshoumaru, looking at the army green walls of the tent. Yawning, she stretched her arms above her head, instantly regretting the action as the cool air hit her warm skin as they escaped the sleeping bag. Quickly, she darted back under the covers, and rolled to face Sesshoumaru.
He was missing.
Laying in the middle of the sleeping bag she had rolled out for him were the pajama pants she had lent him the night before. Kagome huffed. "That stubborn dog. He likely left the moment I fell asleep..."
Kagome couldn't feel any demonic energy close, so he was a good distance from her. She shrugged as she sat and began digging through her bag for something to occupy her time while she waited out the storm. However long that may be. Finding her book, she rolled to her stomach and began where she had left off.
A/N: I am really, very sorry about the delays in updates. I am currently unwell, and been in and out of the hospital quite frequently as of the last month or so. I am hoping the massive team of doctors I have working on me will eventually figure out what is going on with me, but it's been a very long and slow process involving multiple stays in the hospital and many, many tests... with many more to come.
