Chapter 101: Beautiful
Kagome watched the sky in silence. Sesshoumaru offered no explanation as to were he had disappeared to, and she wasn't about to ask. She wasn't his mother or wife or girlfriend... she wasn't even his friend so to speak. As far as she was aware, she was nothing to Sesshoumaru other than another disgraceful human. Though he tolerated her, he didn't seem to like her much.
It was an odd feeling, having someone so plainly dislike you. The feeling was pretty foreign to Kagome. She never had troubles making friends, people seemed to grow to like her fairly quickly. With Sesshoumaru, that wasn't going to happen.
He stayed, staring up at the night sky, with her. The few times she dared a sideways glace in his direction left her speechless. Even in modern clothes, he had an ethereal glow about him. His stunning silver hair sparkled in the dim light, while his piercing gold eyes shown with a predatory shimmer. He really was a beautiful creature. His markings adding to the mysterious demon he was.
She fell asleep to the lulls of crickets chirping around her. Something about sleeping outside felt... right.
