S.R: It's true, I'll be wrapping this story up with this arc. Counting this chapter here there is at most 4 chapters left before I label this story complete.
Natsu: Why?
S.R: I'm running out of steam with this one. I mean all the idea's I've come up with lately have been for Salamander's Story. I have pointed it out already but some authors on here have given permission for me to re-write their stories.
Erza: What does that have to do with anything?
S.R: I was reading and looking for inspiration for this story and found some great stories that haven't been touched in a while. I asked if they were dead stories or just on hiatus. Granted most of the responses were "It'll be a while before I work on that one again but feel free to use the idea" but still. My mind instantly jumped at that. Do a bit of tweaking and upload my version of what they've already got up, all while thinking and creating my own plot for when I get caught up. Or at least that's what I thought would happen. But me being me, I've already come up with things I would do in those stories.
Erza: So write them and put this one on hiatus.
S.R: No. I struggled to write the last chapter because of the Dracomera thing. I wanted a unique enemy for you and it took me too damn long to come up with one. I don't want to struggle to keep a story going so I'm going to do what I can and end it.
Natsu: In other words this story is really ending because you've run out of idea's on how to keep it going?
S.R: Yes, but also no. I mean I can come up with ideas but most of what I come up with is better suited for other stories I'm working on and I don't want to overlap things if I can avoid it.
Erza: so are we going to follow cannon here or are you going to make your own thing?
S.R: Nope. I'm doing it my way because I want to end this a certain way.
Natsu: Tell us what you're changing?
S.R: Nope. That takes all the fun out of it. Fair warning this chapter is probably going to be very boring to read. The next chapter will make up for it. Anyway it's time to get on to the story….
ERZA'S POV
Days' three and four of the Grand Magic Games went by in a flash. After day two ended with us in a tie, we stepped up even further. Gray prevailing in his fight with Sabertooth's Rufus, Gajeel barely taking down Bacchus from Quatro Cerberus, and I won in a fight against my old friend Milliana who had joined Mermaid Heel. Natsu took first in his event, called the Naval Battle where he had to force his opponents out of the gigantic sphere of water they were all placed in. And Laxus, tagged out with Mira for the last event which was basically a popularity contest, which being Fairy Tails "Poster Girl" and one of the top models in Fiore was a breeze for Mira to win.
The other teams fought back fairly hard but in the end the only change to the rankings from day two was that Quatro Cerberus had finally gained a lead on Scarmiglione and ended their tie. Everyone was excited as the games progressed towards the end. Finally bringing us to the current situation. It's lunch break on the final day, just before the grand melee. We'll only be allowed to send in three fighters while the rest of the guilds can use their whole team.
"So What's the plan, Erza, Mira and I steam roll them?"
"Why would we need you in the team flame brain? If we want to win send me out there!"
"Gehehehe you think I'll let you get all the glory Salamander?"
"Popsicle I could kick your ass so hard you'll actually be sent back to Magnolia!"
"Bull! You ain't that tough Matchstick!"
"Both of you punks would need to team up to beat me!"
"EVERYONE SHUT UP SO THE MASTER CAN SPEAK!"
After my yell Gray, Gajeel and Natsu stopped ribbing each other and turned to the master to see what he had to say. Considering Laxus tagged out he couldn't be one of the three in the melee. Natsu's suggestion made the most sense as both Mira and I are known to be exceptionally powerful S class mages. But in the end master decided to let the bickering trio win the day for us. With the decision made we returned to the arena just in time for the announcers to call for us to state our chosen team.
"Well we've seen the Impressive power of Natsu Dragneel, but will his teammates be able to keep up and allow them to come out on top?"
The crowd cheered at that reminder for Gray and Gajeel that while they had won their fights it was just barely. Where as Natsu not only took on an opponent that was supposed to be the toughest competitor in the games and won, he was in much better shape than Gray and Gajeel were at the end of their fights. While this was going on though I watched the three of them butt heads once more, though Wendy who was sitting in my lap giggled at them.
"They're arguing over who can take out the most people without even using their magic" Wendy said as her chuckles ended.
Those of us in the stands from Fairy Tail that heard her smiled since we knew there were only a hand full of people from the other teams that would make the battle interesting, but a few members of the crowd from nearby gasped and shook there heads after saying we were going to lose first place.
Finally the announcers ended the noise and let the melee begin. Gajeel charged straight into the team from Quatro Cerberus and easily took most of them out before starting a brawl with Bacchus. Gray trying to be a bit more tactical went after Scarmiglione probably thinking to take the weakest out of the match first. Natsu however… Well he just stood still and cracked his neck. Right before catching a fist from one attacker and throwing the poor fellow into another hard enough to knock them both out.
"Amazing, Gajeel's already taken out all but Bacchus of Quatro Cerberus and any who dared get near the two while brawling! And Gray's just wiped out Scarmiglione!"
At that point Gray had moved on to his next target, which appeared to be Blue Pegasus's team but before he got close, he had to duck under a fist from behind. His attacker of course was Rufus from Sabertooth. The two of them began slugging each other neither one giving an inch.
Natsu however had yet to go on the offensive, but had already taken out more than Gray and Gajeel combined simply because of how many people tried to attack him first. The crowd was cheering, Wendy and I were smiling, and the announcers were blown away by the sheer might of our chosen trio. The melee had only been going on for roughly ten minutes and most of the opponents had been crushed.
Scarmiglione and Mermaid Heel were both completely out of the match. Blue Pegasus was down to Ichiya, Quatro Cerberus only had Bacchus, and Sabertooth still had Rufus, and Orga left. It was at this time Gray, finally started using magic.
"This is unbelievable! Fairy Tail has managed to take out all but four enemies in a matter of minutes! Will they keep it up and make this a beat down? Or will someone manage to beat them!"
At this point Gray's fight with Rufus had caused him to back up until he was back to back with Gajeel, who had also finally started using his magic. Everyone's attention was riveted to the battle as they fought one on one while back to back, though more people were amazed at Natsu proving his strength once more by fighting both Ichiya who is a well known and accomplished mage and Orga who has the strength of a god due to his Lighting God Slaying magic, surprisingly only using his magic to defend himself.
"Iron Dragon's Secret Art Karma Demon: Iron God Sword!"
"Ice Make Unlimited: One Sided Chaotic Dance!"
Gajeel and Gray both used their ultimate spells destroying a large portion of the arena around them and taking their opponents out, but fell to their knees afterwords looking incredibly tired and worn out. Unfortunately Natsu and his enemies Ichiya and Orga were far enough away that they weren't caught in the attacks but close enough to attempt to finish the two afterwords.
Neither one made it very far before Natsu fully unleashed his magic, letting it's immense pressure push the two to the ground. He slowly walked forward until he stood between the two and our friends. After a few moments of nothing he let up, only for everyone to see that after expending themselves like they had in the attempt to defeat Natsu let him crush them into unconsciousness after getting serious.
"Fairy Tail has won the Grand Magic Games!"
After the announcement that we had won the entire arena began shaking due to the cheers of the crowd. Natsu ignored it in favor of helping Gajeel and Gray stand, though once the two got back on their feet he raised his right hand extending his pointer finger to the sky and thumb to the side with everyone from Fairy Tail quickly following his lead as we we joined the three on the arena floor.
Once the cheers began dying down it was announced that tomorrow would be the closing celebrations, and we quickly made our way back to the inn we were staying in. Upon arriving Master declared that it was time for a party.
NATSU'S POV
Even though it was just a small group of us from the guild that came to Crocus to particpate in the games, we partied just as hard as we would if we were back in the guild hall. Our party grew bigger as Quatro Cerberus and Blue Pegasus recovered from their beatings and join in the fun. Granted it was still smaller than our normal parties but it was just as fun, though the brawls were quickly ended by Erza as she didn't want us to destroy the place on accident.
Though even without the usual chaos our parties caused it was still a blast and carried on well into the night. I think at one point I was sitting with Gramps, and the other masters being praised for my prowess, and at another I was drinking with Gajeel, and Laxus. I may have also tried to arm wrestle with Gray. The one thing I remember clearly though was towards the end of the party when everyone started crashing, is that I was sitting on a bench with Erza on my right, arm draped over her shoulder holding her close and snuggling while Wendy sat on our lap. It might not have been comfy but it was perfect to me, as I held my family. Being the only smart ones out of the party group, once it winded down Erza and I carried Wendy up to our room and tucked ourselves into bed.
Though I only know that because when we came back down from our room in the morning everyone was still passed out where they were when we went to bed. While we went about waking everyone up I noticed a familiar smell. Wendy and Gajeel did as well, since the three of us bolted from the place. Following the scent in a semi trance it wasn't until we came to a clearing that we found what we were looking for. In the middle of the clearing was a dragon using it's human for.
"Hello there young ones. I know you have questions, and they will be answered but first why don't we introduce ourselves… I am Ugin the Spirit Dragon"
"Natsu Dragneel, son of Igneel the Fire Dragon King"
"Gajeel Redfox, son of Metalicana the Iron Dragon"
Wendy was either feeling shy or unsure of how to introduce herself as she hid behind me and slightly pulled on my shirt. Gently reaching behind me I pulled her to stand beside me and grabbed her hand as I introduced her.
"This is Wendy Dragneel. After meeting her while she was all alone I adopted her, but she was raised by Grandeeney the Sky Dragon"
"It is a pleasure to meet you all. Now then I know you want to ask where your dragons are, and I can answer that, but it'll take some explaining."
After Ugin spoke Gajeel and I both nodded for him to continue. He explained that things had gotten dangerous so the dragons sealed themselves inside us to hide from those that would hunt them and give us power boosts when we needed them, though he chuckled as he looked at me and said I had yet to need it. Ugin continued by saying he sensed something extremely dangerous to the world was going to happen soon and decided to come unseal the dragons so they could help prevent said danger.
Before he could do so however we all felt a large amount of magic back in Crocus. Quickly moving back out of the clearing we saw a giant gate rising up in the center of the city. As we neared we saw the gate open up and heard a nostalgic sound… Dragon Roars. A few dragons came through the gate and started wreaking havoc immediately making us grimace in disappointment before running faster. Ugin shifted into his dragon form and we hoped on his back, hoping that we'd be able to prevent the mess that was coming.
S.R: If you know what Ugin is from, go eat a cake. Why not a cookie you ask? Well because then you can have your cake and eat it to… Also yes, based off this last bit you can probably tell how the story is going to end. Yes it'll be cheesy, but it's all I got that would get this out of the way before I go insane.
