Chapter 31
When Ashley woke up the next morning, it didn't take her long to recall the reason her body ached and why she was naked in her girlfriend's bed. A smile spread across her face as images of Spencer and her from the night before flashed through her mind.
Sex with Spencer hadn't been perfect, but it wasn't about perfection. It was about being with the girl she was in love with and having the chance to take the next step in their relationship.
Even with some bumps along the way, the sex itself had been incredible. Ashley didn't realize that anything could feel as amazing as doing to Spencer what she had been fantasizing about for weeks, months even. It's not that she hadn't enjoyed what the blonde had done to her, because of course she did, but there was something amazing and almost powerful about bringing Spencer to orgasm. It was exhilarating.
On top of all that, the tenderness that Spencer had shown her and how she had taken care of the brunette, made Ashley feel loved. She knew that underneath Spencer's tough exterior was a very soft side. She had known that side before and Ashley was sure that it had never truly gone away. It had taken work and patience to get there again but, like sex with the blonde, it had been worth the wait.
For a weekend that had started with uncertainty and doubt, it had quickly turned into a weekend that Ashley would always remember. She was beyond happy that she'd been able to share it with Spencer.
Speaking of Spencer, when Ashley flipped over in bed, she was slightly perturbed not to see the blonde beside her. It wasn't like Spencer not to be there when she woke up.
Before Ashley had the opportunity to worry or freak out, she heard a familiar voice coming from across the room. "Good morning, sleepyhead."
Ashley's body began to hum and she couldn't stop her face from breaking out into a nose crinkly grin. She sat up and was rewarded with a ridiculously hot site in front of her. Spencer was leaning against the doorframe of her room wearing a tank top and boxer shorts. If that wasn't perfect enough, she was holding two mugs of steaming hot coffee.
"Morning," Ashley replied, her voice husky and a little scratchy. She suddenly felt a shy around the blonde, but it wasn't necessarily in a bad way. In all her thinking about what sex with Spencer would be like, she hadn't considered the morning after. "Have you been standing there watching me sleep all this time?"
Spencer was also feeling a little on the bashful side which was a rarity for her. She didn't usually stick around after sex. But that was absolutely not the case with Ashley. "You wish, Davies." Spencer made her way over to her bed. "I have better things to do with my time than watch you sleep."
Ashley cocked her head to one side. "You do?"
"Look, I had planned to be all sweet to you and I thought making coffee would be a good start, but if you're going to mock me, I can change that plan." Perhaps her statement could have been misinterpreted if the blonde didn't also have a smile on her face. "I'm more than happy to drink your coffee as well as mine."
"Don't you dare!" Ashley exclaimed. She was too focused on getting her caffeine addiction fed, that she when she lunged for the blonde, she didn't think to keep hold of the bed sheet that was covering her, which resulted in Spencer getting a good look at her girlfriend's bare chest—something she was a big fan of.
"Shit!" Ashley yelped before she grabbed the bed sheet again.
"If you're going to flash me every morning, I will always bring you coffee," Spencer pledged. "If you give me a peek at everything, I might even bring you breakfast in bed."
Ashley could feel her face burning. "You ass. Give me my coffee and stop trying to embarrass me."
Spencer sat down and went to do as her girlfriend requested. She pulled the mug back because she wanted a kiss from Ashley first. Ashley happily complied even though she was supposed to be irked at the blonde.
"Hi," Spencer whispered after she had pulled back from the kiss. She took a few seconds to appreciate just how breathtaking Ashley was. She had never considered herself lucky until now.
"Hi," Ashley replied. She was tingly all over and giddy. When Spencer handed her the mug she'd been holding, Ashley took a big sip of coffee and let out an appreciate moan. "This is so good."
"And here I was thinking that only I could make you moan like that." Spencer was delighted when Ashley's ears started to turn pink.
"Ignoring you," Ashley sung out. She knew that the blonde was trying to get a rise out of her.
Spencer settled for drinking her coffee and getting to have eye sex with Ashley. It wasn't as fun as the real thing, but it was still pretty enjoyable. They sat in mostly silence while they enjoyed their morning dose of caffeine. When they were done, Spencer took their mugs and placed them on her side table. She then scooted closer to her girlfriend and pushed a few stray hairs behind Ashley's ear. "How are you feeling this morning? After last night, I mean."
Ashley thought about the question. She loved that Spencer was asking it of her. She wondered if being with a girl was always like this: having someone care about your feelings and not just trying to get in your pants. She knew without a doubt that the blond would love to be in her pants at the moment, but she cared enough about Ashley to let her process what had happened between them. Her limited experience with men had led her to believe that they liked to talk about their feelings as little as possible. Perhaps it wasn't fair to lump all men into that category, but Ashley was only going from her own experience.
"I'm feeling great. Last night was wonderful. You were wonderful," Ashley replied. She was almost certain that she had a goofy look on her face. "What about you, how are you doing? Any regrets?"
"Not one," Spencer assured the brunette. When she had woken up, she had looked over at Ashley in bed with her and felt nothing but blessed. She had wondered if she would panic after sharing something so intimate and tender with Ashley. Spencer had spent the better part of her teenage years cutting herself off from feeling anything. The previous night, she had allowed herself to feel everything. It wouldn't be a stretch to think that she might not be able to handle what that entailed. "I'm just happy."
It had been a really long time since Spencer could say those words and mean it.
"Me too," Ashley said. "Although, I have to admit I did think you and I would start our morning a lot differently than what we are doing."
There was a change in Ashley's tone that Spencer caught immediately. That, coupled with the raised eyebrow that her girlfriend was giving her, made the blonde start to feel a heat rising throughout her body. "Is that a fact?"
Ashley nodded as she let the sheet she had wrapped around her drop—this time on purpose. She delighted in the expression that her nakedness inspired from Spencer. It sent a shiver of anticipation up her back.
"I didn't realize I'd disappoint you. How rude of me." Spencer was trying to maintain eye contact with Ashley, but that was really hard to do when she knew that all of the brunette was naked right now—and not just her upper body. "My plan was to cook us a big breakfast. I thought you'd be hungry when you woke up."
"I am hungry," Ashley husked out as she grabbed the front of Spencer's shirt in her hands. Any shyness she might have been feeling earlier was gone. It was replaced by a desire for her girlfriend that she could not control. Not that she wanted to. "But not for food."
"Fuck," Spencer breathed out. She couldn't quite fathom that a sweet moment had turned lust filled in such a short time. She should have been used to that by now when it came to Ashley, but she wasn't. She had actually been preparing breakfast while her girlfriend had slept. It wasn't a line she was feeding Ashley. The food would have to wait as it was clear that the brunette had other plans at the moment.
Ashley lay back down as she pulled Spencer on top of her. She let go of the front of the blonde's shirt so she could get it off. Once Spencer was topless, Ashely wrapped her legs around her girlfriend and then she started to move her hips to get some kind of friction going.
"Fuck," Spencer repeated. Any thoughts of anything besides giving Ashley pleasure were gone from her head. This was the best possible way to start the day. She crashed her lips against Ashley's in a kiss that was demanding and hot. In the most unfortunate turn of events, one non Ashley related thought did pop in the blonde's head. "Shit, wait."
It took a second for Ashley to register what Spencer had said. She reluctantly stopped fondling her girlfriend's breasts. "What's wrong?"
"It's just, shit," Spencer was breathing heavy and her eyes were dilated. Why did she have to have a brain that couldn't block out responsibility and doing the right thing? "Last night, uh, see the thing is, shit. OK, what I'm trying to say is that last night I really didn't think we'd end up having sex."
Ashley wasn't quite sure where Spencer was going with this. "I know that."
"And, well, as much as I hoped we'd have a great time, I didn't realize…" Spencer had to pause to collect her desire filled thoughts. Ashley had such an affect on her. "Sean asked me if the three of us could hang out together today. And I said yes, which in retrospect I wish I hadn't, but he's such a good friend and he helped me out this past week. And now I really want to spend the day in bed with you because we'd both be naked and that would be awesome."
"Oh," Ashley said trying not to be too disappointed. She normally loved hanging out with Sean, but now that she had seen Spencer without any clothes, she really wanted to see more of it. "What time is he getting here?"
"Couple of hours, I think." Spencer had told him to come over whenever he wanted.
Ashley's smiled returned. She didn't realize how much Spencer over reacted until now. "That's plenty of time for us to have fun this morning."
Spencer brightened up, "You're not upset?"
"Would I love that we had the day to ourselves? Of course. But eventually we have to get out of bed, so who cares if it's a little earlier than I would have wanted." Ashley began to move one of her hands back to Spencer's breast. "And just think, when he decides to leave, it will just be the two of us again and then who knows what will happen."
Spencer knew exactly what would happen then, because it was about to happen now. "I think I've created a monster," she smirked. "And no, I'm not complaining."
"You better not be!" Ashley warned. She could have continued joking around, but she had better things to do. Namely Spencer.
Ashley flipped Spencer over so she was on top. All that was left to do was get rid of the blonde's boxer shorts so she was naked too. Once she had done just that, she trailed her fingers up Spencer's leg, earning Ashley a very loud moan from the other girl.
This really was the best way to start the day.
"Guys, I'm here," Sean yelled when he walked into Spencer's house. He always liked to announce his arrival just in case he was going to catch his two friends in an intimate situation like he'd already done. "Please make sure your clothes are on because I don't want to be traumatized again."
"Shut up." Spencer called out. "Ashley isn't even here."
"Was she that upset about the take out last night?" Sean asked as he threw his bag on the sofa in the den. He was grinning at his joke when he joined his friend in the kitchen. "I didn't think that Ashley was so high maintenance."
"She's not, you ass," Spencer replied. She had been doing homework, but was glad for the distraction. "She went to the grocery store. She should be back soon."
Sean went to pour himself a drink and then he joined Spencer at the table. "I have to say it is nice having someone else around to help with all your errands. Please make sure Ashley is around for a long time. I could get used to sharing the burden that is your friendship with her."
"First of all, fuck off." Spencer shot her friend a smile that was not friendly. "And secondly, that is the plan, so don't worry you're pretty little head about helping me when I need it."
Sean started laughing, he couldn't help himself. "That's rich coming from you after you had me running all over the place for your big romantic dinner last night. Speaking of which, I hope everything went well."
Spencer tried to shrug nonchalantly. "I think it went pretty well."
Sean couldn't be fooled. He saw how much the blonde was trying to keep her feelings to herself. "Well, well, well." He rubbed his chin as he kept his focus on Spencer, "Can it be? Is Spencer Carlin actually happy?"
For as much fun as Spencer had at Ashley's expense, she wasn't a fan when the shoe was on the other foot. It wasn't nearly as enjoyable. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
The more that Sean examined Spencer, the more he couldn't hide his delight in what he was seeing. "I can't believe my eyes." He ignored the scowl that the blonde was now giving him. "Surly, brooding, Spencer Carlin is actually happy. I never thought I'd see the day." He dashed over to Spencer before she could react. Seconds later he had his friend in a headlock. With his free hand he was giving Spencer a noogie. "Congrats, Spence!"
"Get off me!" Spencer screamed but she couldn't break the hold that Sean had on her. "Get off!"
Sean was laughing so hard he had tears in his eyes. It had been a long time since he'd been able to joke around with Spencer like this. "No way! This is too fun!"
No matter what Spencer tried, she couldn't get free. She wasn't above playing dirty which is why she started tickling Sean's side.
"No fair!" Sean yelled through a laughing fit.
"Let me go!" Spencer demanded. She was now out of her chair and trying to push Sean around.
"What the hell is going on here?"
At the sound of Ashley's bewildered voice, Sean let go of Spencer and immediately straightened up. Spencer was rubbing her neck and shooting her friend dirty looks.
"Nothing," Spencer and Sean said simultaneously.
"You know what, I don't even want to know." Ashley told the two of them.
Spencer walked over to Ashley to give her a kiss. She kept it chaste because she was mindful of Sean's presence. The two girls exchanged a prolonged look between them, until Sean cleared his throat.
"You know, I can leave if you want," he offered.
"Don't tempt me," Spencer replied, but she didn't mean it. She wasn't selfish enough to actually ask Sean to go. She would never do that to him. "Luckily for you, we could use your man strength to help us with groceries, so you're safe for now."
Sean rolled his eyes. "Yeah, lucky me."
Ashley watched in amusement as Spencer and Sean bickered back and forth all the way to her car. They really were like brother and sister.
Once the groceries were unpacked, the three of them decided to get comfortable in the den.
"Alright, ladies, what is on the agenda today?" Sean asked after he had flopped back on the sofa.
The x-rated response that came into Spencer's head remained there. It wasn't her fault that a few seconds earlier Ashley had bent over to pick something up off the ground. "Humiliating the two of you at video games? That sounds like fun."
"Do really want to go down that path?" Ashely asked in disbelief. "Or have you forgotten how badly your ass got beaten the last time you opened your big mouth?"
"That was a fluke," Spencer declared with confidence she had no right to have.
"I'm Team Ashley on this one," Sean announced.
Spencer rolled her eyes. "Of course you are, but you are supporting the wrong team. Trust me, I've got this."
Ashley wasn't sure if she should admire her girlfriend for being so sure of herself, or if she should pity her because she was about to be humiliated. Again. The brunette shook her head, "Some people never learn."
"Why don't either of you have faith in me?" Spencer asked, she was pouting and trying to look wounded.
Sean stood up to pat his friend gently on the head. "It's not about having faith in you, it's about knowing that Ashley has skills you could only hope to have."
Spencer growled. "Let's go to my room and I can teach both of you a lesson."
"It's your funeral," Sean said as he followed Spencer and Ashley up the stairs.
Ashley kicked Spencer's ass without mercy and without having any pity for the girl she loved.
Sean took a lot of delight in this.
Spencer on the other hand, started pouting for real. She couldn't believe that she had lost to Ashley again and even worse than the first time. It was humiliating.
Sean went downstairs to refill their drinks. He laughed the entire way to the kitchen.
Spencer was sitting against her bed with her arms folded across her chest. She looked like a petulant child with the amount of sulking she was doing.
"You brought that on yourself," Ashley said, trying to suppress a smile.
"Sure, blame the victim." Spencer continued to look like someone had just stolen her puppy. "You didn't have to beat me that badly."
"Yes, I did," Ashley replied. She couldn't hide her amusement at the blonde any longer. She walked over to her girlfriend and straddled the blonde's lap. "It's not my fault you're such a terrible gamer."
"Ashley!" Spencer whined. "You take that back."
"Aw, don't be too sad, Spence," Ashley said before she leaned in so her lips were right by the other girl's ear. "If you're good, maybe I'll make it up to you once Sean is gone."
Spencer forgot all about what she was upset about. Ashley had that much power over her. "And what if I'm bad?"
Ashley loved the glint of defiance in Spencer's eye right then. She lightly brushed her lips against the blonde, ignoring the way her girlfriend whimpered when she wouldn't deepen the kiss. "I'll probably make it up to you even more."
Spencer's whole body shuddered and she could feel her desire pooling between her legs. She wanted to protest when Ashley moved off her, but Sean walked in a few seconds later and there was nothing she could say then.
"What did I miss?" Sean asked once he handed the drinks out.
"Not much," Ashley assured him. She kept eye contact with Spencer as she spoke. "Except Spencer decided to challenge me to another game. That is, if you don't mind giving up your turn."
"I don't mind that at all." Sean turned to the blonde. "What were you thinking? You're going to get your ass kicked again."
Spencer gulped, the way that Ashley was staring at her was beyond intense. "What can I say? I guess I'm a glutton for punishment."
"Let's do this," Ashley said with a certain amount of glee.
Not only was she going to enjoy defeating Spencer for a third time. She was also going to enjoy all the things that Spencer and she were going to do when it was just the two of them.
Spencer sighed. "I wish you didn't have to go."
"I wish that too," Ashley replied. It didn't matter that they had spent the whole weekend together and it didn't matter that it was now Sunday night and they were having to say goodbye. She was always wishing she could have more time with the blonde. "I can't believe my mom has decided to date someone who actually likes the fact that she has a daughter. Now I have to spend my night pretending that we always have Sunday night dinner together."
"I could come with you if you want," Spencer offered. She mostly meant it. Dinner with Ashley's mom sounded terribly unappealing but if she got to be with the brunette, it would be worth it.
Ashley was leaning against the driver's side door of her car, with Spencer leaning into her. Even after almost forty-eight hours of constant touching, minus the time Sean was over, Ashley couldn't get enough of her girlfriend. "I would love that, but I was expressly told that only I was welcome for dinner. My mom is such a cow."
"I know the feeling," Spencer said with a smile. "You're going to drive safe and message me when you get home, right?"
Ashley nodded, it was so nice having someone care about her as much as Spencer did. "I promise." She pulled the blonde even closer. "Now kiss me so I have something amazing to think about while I'm stuck trying act like my mom and I often have family time together."
Spencer didn't need any further encouragement. She kissed Ashley hard and didn't let the brunette go for several minutes.
Ashley reluctantly moved away from her girlfriend's embrace when she couldn't stall any longer. She stole one more kiss and then got in her car. She waved goodbye to Spencer and tried hard not to curse her mother for the entire ride back to her house.
With a big smile on her face, Spencer watched Ashley drive away. She might not be happy that her girlfriend had to leave, but she couldn't really be too upset. They'd had a magical weekend together. When Spencer couldn't see the brunette's car any longer, she turned around and went back inside.
If Spencer would have waited outside a few seconds later, she would have heard the sound of the engine starting from the car across the street.
And she also would have seen the face of a very pissed off Madison Duarte before she drove away.
